Riu Republica

Grounds We were at the Riu Republica for 7 days starting from the 2nd, Jan 2020. Our first impression of the entrance was; “wow, modern “The grounds were well kept and constantly being maintained by gardeners. The grounds were very clean. I would give the rating of the grounds a 4 + from 1-5 with 1 being the lowest.it would have gotten a 5 star if they had a tennis court and less smoking in the area. Public areas were always clean and always well maintained. The only issue I had with the [... read more] Public areas was the amount of cigarette smoking I was subjected to. There was smoking pretty much everywhere, including the beach.The only place there wasn’t smoking were in the restaurants, the Ala cart that we visited and the buffet area. Rooms They rooms were clean, modern and well maintained. For dining I would have to rate in different categories. 1st. lets start with the Negative’s. There were over 5 Ala Cart restaurants on the grounds and we only went to two, reason being was that the 1st one we went to was a buffet style and the food wasn’t the greatest. I would not have expected that they would have buffet style setting at an Italian restaurant. 2nd. we went to another restaurant and we were disappointed because the restaurant was closed when we went. Actually the had two of the same restaurant in different locations and both were closed. We were able to get in that restaurant the day before we left and the food wasn’t great at all. The presentation was great but quality food wasn’t what we expect. Our best food experience was at the Main buffet area. Breakfast was great, we had so much options to choose from. And everyday we had something good to eat. Lunch was great as well, there is always something to choose from. Dinner was great. I forgot to mention that they had a Jerk Chicken Hut on the grounds and the chicken was very good. I would give the buffet section of this resort a 5 star based on quality of food, options of food. There was Wifi throughout the whole resort. Which was great. At times you would get signal while on the beach. There were no tennis court. This resort is smaller than it looks on the site. But in my opinion I think it’s geared for younger adults that would want to drink, party and just hang around the pool side to socialize. And that are not interested in doing anything but that. The entertainment was really good. And music was great. The beaches were crowded and the water was extremely rough. I watch a gentleman try to get on his parasailing board for over half an hour and could not get on due to the rough waves on the beach.

Great Resort, Fun Times

The Riu Republica was an excellent resort. The rooms, service, grounds and ambiance was all top notch. The beach area and the pools were very good. They had a different theme each night for entertainment which was a nice change.

Truly An Amazing Resort!

This resort is unlike anything I have ever seen! The rooms were spacious, very clean and also had liquor dispensers with vodka, rum, gin and whiskey which made this hotel standout from the others! Their breakfast, lunch and dinner buffet food were delicious. As well as their a la carte restaurants, although a bit of a wait some days it was well worth it. The waiters and waitresses were extremely friendly and had a great sense of humor, as well as the chefs who made it a priority to interact with [... read more] the guests on a daily bases, which was lovely. There were many pools and pool bars located directly inside of the pool which I found unique! The beach was amazing with a view to die for and the customer service provided at the beach bars were very memorable. There were daily activities on and off of the resort, performances at their theaters, as well as a very entertaining night life, from the night club to the beach parties. It was truly an amazing experience and I cannot wait to go back!

Great resort

The entertainment was awesome, the had a different show each night, Fun games during the day, and themed parties throughout the week. It was Lots of fun, and I will definitely be back. The entertainment team was awesome

Very nice resort

The property is very clean and still looks very new. The rooms are clean and in good condition. The beach is fantastic. The coffee served in the resort is horrible. The best things to do is to get it from the machines. Also the Hard Rock Hotel next to the Riu Republica burns garbage late at night. This smoke get into the ventilation system and makes your room smell like a ash tray. We have been at the Riu República 3 times. We know to get a room close to the beach to avoid the smell.

Nice resort with amazing food

The rooms were okay, nothing too fancy. The food was amazing. A lot of variety every meal and very savoury. The beaches were nice. There was staff always cleaning and picking up the cups. The entertainment team was very energetic and fun. Although not all shows were fun to watch.

Enjoyable resort

Room was comfortable and clean. Selection of specialty Restuarant would recommend the Spanish.All in all had a fabulous time. Adults resort with younger crowds. We are in our sixties and still had enjoyable time.

Amazing Resort

Resort was always clean, only negative would be only 3 of the a la cart resorts were open daily making them extremely busy. Other than that the food was excellent the service was good and the pools, grounds and beach were always clean.

Phenomenal

Very impressive resort. We stayed for 14 days and the variety of food was never repetitive We found the front desk to be very helpful and understanding to all our needs. They were always there to please. All the employees seemed to truly enjoy their jobs which was nice to see. This resort had it all. Party if you want or relax if you want. Best of both worlds. 5star all the way

Among the best, value for money

The property is huuuugggge ! Lots of restaurants and pools. Very nicely maintained. The staff is courteous. Food choices are plenty and all of them are good. Access to the beach though it's not the best. But the beach was clean. The highlight was the parties. We loved them all. Awesome music and atmosphere all around. Fabulous stay !

Food and staff are superb. Hotel can provide more activities. Such as tennis court, dance on the beach, more organized snorkeling groups. Price for coconut onsite is super high. Highest I ever saw in the caribeans. Pool water was dirty on days when the sea was wild and wavey. The room service was not renewing our coffers and soaps every day. And was hesitant for refilling small size water bottles. But cleaners were superb. Restaurants are not great but the buffet is very well served and kept.

Lovely resort

\nice resort, and gardens well kept. Please feed the cat.(orange brown, very friendly) Enjoyed my stay in the resort. The shows catered to the young people,. There was 2 nights when the music catered the older generation which was very nice. Like the pool area and of course the beach. Consider to go back for my next holiday (hopefully in March Hasta la vista. -Coffee is poor quality. please improve.Thank you

Fantastic Resort!

I’ve been to many all inclusive resorts, especially in the Dominican Republic and this was amazing! One of my favourite things about this adults only resort was diversity and age ranges from people in their 20s to 70s. They really cater to every age group and everyone has a great time. The beach is gorgeous and great for body surfing/boogie boarding. They have quieter pools if you just want to relax, nap or unwind and they have other pools for more activities and fun. Even though this is a l [... read more]arge resort, everything was very centrally located and never a far walk from any of the restaurants and bars everywhere! Most nights they had live music at the theater right before the show and the entertainment crew did a great job of getting people involved and having fun in the daily and nightly activities. The buffet always had great food! A La Carte restaurants were good too, but I found it a hit or miss mostly. Rooms are kept very clean, great water pressure and hot water in the showers! Disco was small, but always packed. Music could have been better; but overall a great atmosphere. All of the bartenders and servers had unbelievably great attitude and service. Never had to wait for a drink! Definitely a 5-Star Resort and would come back!

Beautiful resort

The food was amazing, room was spacious, staff were friendly. Plenty of chairs by the pools and on the beach. Also, plenty of sunny or shady spots to sit. Large beach compared to the other beaches we saw on our walks. No need to reserve dinner seats as plenty of places to eat. The only negative was the nightly burning of garbage. Depending on the wind, it could be quite noxious. Maybe all of us sun seekers should think twice about the amount of waste we generate.

Beautiful resort

The hotel is clean. Staffs are very friendly. The entertainment every night is awesome. They have varieties of delicious foods. I could not wait to go back. This place is a paradise. I recommend this resort to everyone.

9/10 would Pacho Disco again!

Just returned from a 7-day stay with my girlfriend thanks to Marnie's help from the tripcentral team. Overall we were very pleased with the resort, would definitely recommend it for someone looking for a mix of fun and relaxation, especially younger to middle aged couples. Food - 8/10 - some of the a la carte restaurants were a bit below expectations (and not actually a la carte), Kulinarium was the best for us Drinks - 9/10 - pours were generous when prompted, selection was good, would be n [... read more]ice for a 5-star rated resort to have premium liquor though Beach - 10/10 - beach was fantastic, beautiful white sand, little to no seaweed, lots of space. Bit wavy but hey it's a beach and it's fun! Pools - 8/10 - no issues really with pools, good selection, just a bit of a boring layout - big rectangles. Water slides were fun for a bit Staff - 9/10 - had a great experience with the team, they were engaging and fun, bar and server staff were attentive and polite for the most part Room - 8/10 - solid room quality, beds were decent, service was good, again just a bit of a plain boring layout Entertainment - 7/10 - while staff made the most of what they had, the shows were mediocre overall, and everything was too structured - every evening you'd have the exact same schedule - dinner, music, show, bar, disco - rinse/repeat. Would be nice to have a bit more variety as we've seen at other resorts in Mexico. Highlight was the Pacho Disco - lots of fun, except the Saturday night where it was a bit greasy, seemed like more people came out of nowhere. Overall 9/10!

Amazing resort

This hotel was very very very nice. From the welcoming to the service of the friendly and amazing staff I can say I will be back. The restaurants and buffet were very catering to the needs of the clients. Food also stocked, freshed and well seasoned. Im glad i made the choice to come to this country and stay at this Riu.

Beautiful Resort

Beautiful resort, everything was always super clean. Well air conditioned. Nothing ever sat on tables too long at restaurants they were very quick to clear plates off for the next guest to sit down!!!

Our stay at Riu republica was nothing short of amazing. It far exceeded out expectations. Food was amazing, the beach was clean, could always find a chair. So many pools, it was clean! The service was fabulous, we didn’t wait for any meal service and never more than a few minutes for drinks. The entertainment staff really did a great job at getting people to have fun, but were not pushy for those who just wanted to observe. The buffet always has a great variety to choose from though! I would recommend this resort to anyone young or old. You will not be disappointed!

Unreal resort

This resort is truly awesome in so many ways. It is very large with lots of room for everything to help with overcrowding and offers something for everyone The food was top notch especially the main buffet and the Italian specialty restaurant. The beach was big and beautiful and there is plenty of pools for everyone to enjoy depending on your mood. Shows were great and there’s lots of great things to do.
