Nice Resort

It’s a nice new hotel. Service from the staffs were great. Tennis instructor was excellent. Will come back for March break. We stayed from December 21-28. Food is to be expected from Cuba. Lots of shortage. Free wifi one hour per day per person. Wifi everywhere not only in the lobby. It was great to have wifi in the bedroom just like other islands.

Sercotel Experience

The beach was awesome ... however very windy so always lots of waves, which interfered with our seashell picking. Rooms were very clean and always nice surprises with towels (decorations) Food wasn't the best but who goes to Cuba to eat??? The staff was very friendly and were able to communicate to the best of their abilities. We went on a catamaran ride with dolphin interaction and staff on catamaran were excellent!!! Relaxing!

We visited the end of November to avoid the crowds and iffy weather, and got exactly what we wanted. The staff was fantastic, from check in to check out, the food although limited was very good(which was a huge surprise considering all the reviews on Cuba cusine). I highly recommend the club - adult only section, well worth the little bit of extra money. The staff there will treat you like you are the only ones there. Bring your snorkeling geer, you will wish you did when you find out you can [... read more] snorkel right off the beach. **make sure you split your room tips, leave a CUC or 2, inside the mini bar along with a note to let them know you want extra water or beer (request Crystal) or you will get heinikin. Will be going back!

This was our first experience at Sercotel, we have been to many other resorts in Cayo Santa Maria. I have to say that it was easily our top favorite for food, drinks, location and service. The grounds are beautiful, lush with flowers and greenery. The food was very good, especially in the a la carte restaurants, we ate like kings all week. The beach is large and ample, a lot of space for everyone and long enough for a good walk. The only down about that section is that it is a good walk to the lobby and buffet so not good for people with mobility issues. I do have to say that carts go around regularly for those who do not want to walk. All in all we are very satisfied and planning to return to this hotel.

Second Time even better

This was my second time there ,the staff is amazing, service is quick and efficient, the staff is very attentive, and will do anything to please you . The food at the buffet is not as good as the first time , there has been a change in the head chef , the buffet food caters more to Cubans , the AL Carte restaurants are much for food and quality .The pools and beach are amazing, the entertainment team is the best at this resort, they keep you going all day Jesus and Dana are the best . Excellent Resort

I have been going to Cuba for over 25 years , and this resort is top on my list the food is amazing, the service is top notch , the entertainment team actually entertains you , the AL Carte restaurants are best I have ever had , there is no concern with food at this resort, with a wide variety to eat , from pasta to burger to pizza , fresh fish , chicken beef and pork , I highly recommended this resort.

Beautiful Resort but could use some improvements

Overall for the price we paid, this resort was good. However, I would probably not go back. The rooms were beautiful, as well as the grounds of the hotel. The hotel was very clean overall (except the lobby bathrooms could use a bit more attention in the evenings). The beach is nice but definitely not as beautiful as other resorts in Cayó Santa Maria. The pool is very nice. The entertainment was good. The service in this resort was very good except in the buffet restaurant. The service nee [... read more]ds a lot of improvements. The most disappointing thing about this new resort was the food. The quality just wasn't there and it was very repetitive. I know this is Cuba, but I've been to a few other resorts where the food was far superior. All in all, it was a good week but needs some improvements.

Best Cuban Experience

At the front desk, we were greeted with a lovely glass of Cava when we got off the bus, very refreshing after travelling. Check in was quick and organized. They let us know that Customer Relations would be open in the morning. We were driven to our bungalow, electric cart, and our luggage carried up to our room. The rooms were clean, beds so comfortable, fresh linens and towels. Balconies, air conditioning was amazing, we called our room Canada. The chamber maid, Wendy, supplied us with lovely  [... read more]notes and towel art everyday. The snack bar had great burgers, chicken fingers and fries. Open 24 hours. The Customer Relations desk was amazing. This is where the resort truly shined. We were lucky to meet Yuniet. She helped us book our a la cartes for the week. Later we were having trouble with the Wi-Fi, and she guided us through getting set up flawlessly. She followed up with us almost daily to see how our stay was! For a bit of a fun on a showery day we decided to get manis and pedis. Yuniet made the appointments for us. We had the pleasure of meeting Leticia, who treated us very well. Since I have been back, I have had some fun showing off my nail jewellery, fluorescence flowers! It is one of the best buffets that I have ever been to in Cuba. The amount of food that was available was amazing. One day at lunch we even had sushi! The staff were amazing. The filling of glasses, wine and water, happened before you had time to think about asking. We mainly sat in the same area, so we came to know our servers quite well. Our favourite was Adrian, who as the week progressed, was switched to the lobby bar, which meant we saw him more often. All the servers at the buffet would stop by and say, “Hi!” to make sure everything was good! The Lobby Bar was spectacular. The first few nights all the evening entertainment happened there, (the theatre opened on one of our last nights there and it is top notch). We had magicians, dancers, and fashion shows. The service in the bar was amazing! As with the buffet, the servers would stop by to make sure we had everything we needed and chat for a few moments. The ongoing daily entertainment in the Lobby Bar was amazing. Singers, sax players, bands, piano players. Our two favourites were two Cuban ladies, (played at the buffet one night as well), and the guitar and violin duo. At the beach, we had no trouble getting shade. The beach drink service by Ryder, was great. The beach was beautiful white sand with lots of great shells to be found. We are not really pool people but the pools were beautiful. There was even a swim up bar. The A La Cartes were great food. They were all hosted in the French restaurant, (gorgeous), until our last night. On the last night, our meal was in the Ranchero Restaurant, which was beautiful. The food was great. The service in both restaurants was some of the best I have experienced. It was the best experience I have ever had in Cuba! I hope the hotel has an Employee Recognition Program, as the above mention employees did your resort proud. We were there while FITCuba was being hosted and your staff were up for the challenge. During the tourism fair, your staff were just as attentive to the guests as before it started.
