Hotel Roc Casa del Mar: Horrible!!!!!

This was the worst resort iv been to so far!!!!!! Alot alottt of mosquitos we never got a chance to watch any shows at night due to the mosquitos! Never got the room we paid for service was horrible bed sheets never changed!! List goes on ...i don't recommend this resort to anyone!!!!!!!! Stay away from this place!

Playa Vista Azul: Beautiful Resort

Recently spent a week at the rather newer resort. It is a very beautiful resort with an incredible infinity pool overlooking the ocean. The staff for the most part are awesome! Roberto at the beach bar, Yuneil at the infinity pool & the Sweetest egg girl ever... Never spent time at the pool so can not comment, but every time we walked by everyone seemed to be having a great time. Room keys were a big issue, first few days no problem, from then on it was ever other day our key cards stooped working. Very frustrating & annoying. Our last night the card died, up we go for new cards, walk back & still didn’t work. Took a good hour & then some all around to get in our room. Food: I have traveled to different area’s in Cuba for over 20 years & I have never had such disappointing food. There was an employee vacationing at this resort from a resort that I have vacationed at 3 times. I asked his opinion on the food & he agreed it was not good. Ocean Riviera Paradise: Beautiful Resort

Everything was amazing about this resort from the time we got in to the time we left food, staff, rooms all were amazing. The only thing that needs little bit of attention is to have frequent trams services.

Amazing hotel. Very nice decor; very modern, while also being very culture specific. Lots of amenities; including bowling which was unique to a all inclusive! Restaurant selection was very good, and quality was SPECTACULAR! Very nice rooms, supportive beds.

Hotel Roc Casa del Mar: Grad gift to Cuba

We have been to Cuba 9 times - Cayo Santa Maria 4 times, each time to a different resort. This time, we chose Ocean Casa del Mar mainly because it was only two years old and it had been recommended by colleagues. For a resort that was only two years old, it had more than a few maintenance issues - One of my main pet peeves was that many of the pathway lights were not working. We had to use our cell phone flashlights to see where we were going. In the room, the patio door latch was broken, th [... read more]e closet doors were broken, the showerhead was broken and there was very little pressure, but the room was kept very clean by the maid - which is very important to us. The decor - modern and nicely done. Also, the bed/pillows were quite comfortable, I must say. Only half of the toilets in the lobby washrooms were working. The drinks were delicious and the food was okay - steam tables didn't really keep the food very warm Personally, I stuck to rice, pasta, potatoes, bread - mainly because I didn't want to get sick. I guess because the resort was less than half full, the entertainment in the theatre was lacking and there wasn't much in the way of organized activities. The lobby bar had some very talented entertainers each night - a violinist and guitarist playing for a few nights and a pianist on the others. They were amazing! The beach is the main reason we came to Cayo Santa Maria - it is simply gorgeous!! Unfortunately, we had rain for 5 of the 7 days we were there - I mean, torrential downpours so it kept us in our rooms or in the lobby chatting with other guests or playing cards/dominoes. There's nothing much you can do about that! All in all, it was a very relaxing vacation and we thoroughly enjoyed each others' company and the price was right. Would we go back? I don't think I would do the two hour drive from the airport to the resort again.

Playa Vista Azul: Okay Resort

Rooms very clean, maid extremely helpful and pleasant. Had a hard time getting our fridge replenished even though this was part of what we paid for. Towards the end of our stay, this was rectified. Food is different-lived off fries, rice and bread but knew about the food going in. My son loved the mustard and brought some home. :) Resort is nice enough but there is something missing..... A couple of the women bartenders at the lobby bar were so miserable that my son and husband t [... read more]ried to avoid them and not go to the bar when they were working. Not good. Front desk isn't helpful with questions. We found out about things we missed on the last day. We got a good price for the resort so all was good. I would recommend this resort to others if the price was right.

Ocean Riviera Paradise: Resort of Relaxing Vacation

Pros: - Food was well done, varied and fresh. Double check the meat to ensure it is cooked if eating at the buffet. The a la carte restaurants are very fun, tasty and welcoming! - Activities were fun for my age group (~20) as there were parties and games every day. - Lots of fun drinks to try. - Staff were great, shoutout to Brandon, Kassandra, Regina, Erik and Nacho! Cons: - Not a great beach... always a red flag for cautious waves. Do NOT attend if you are looking to do beach activi [... read more]ties or run in and out of the water. - Rooms are humid so ask for a dehumidifier. - Pools had murky water, not sure about the level of chlorine in the water. - Disco at night on resort is hit or miss... they try to make you pay lots of money to attend Coco Bongo (did not attend) off resort. Overall: Had a pleasant week in Mexico with amazing food and fun. Disappointed with the beach scene so would not return for this reason.

Ocean Riviera Paradise: BEST VACATION OF MY LIFE

Everyone was very friendly, amazing service, good balance of family environment and partying, the food was beyond amazing! Even the buffet had high quality food. We had no complaints whatsoever. Seriously the best vacation I’ve ever been on. I’ve already recommended this resort to everyone that’s asked me about my vacation.

Playa Vista Azul: Nice Resort But Needs to Be More Accommodating for Handicapped Person

Decent Resort, Lovely, clean rooms, large pool. Beach was nice but not the best I've seen. Food was good. Best part was the nightly entertainment. Dancers were amazing! Especially the Circus show. Bar staff and cleaners were very nice to my brother who is in a wheelchair. Also, the taxi driver from the airport had four men help him lift my brother (while sitting in his chair) into the back of his minivan. On our return to the airport, this same taxi driver had had a wheelchair ramp insta [... read more]lled in his van through the week. Very, very nice of him and much appreciated. Pool bar staff were extremely helpful and kind to us. However, I would definitely not return to this resort because I had requested a handicap room and they did not comply. They said they never received the request from my travel agent and that these rooms were being used by other guests. I did not see any other guests in wheelchairs the whole week. So I can only assume they gave their handicap rooms to people who didn't absolutely need them. A nice gentleman from Guest Services came to my room and saw that there was no way for my brother to access the toilet in our room. They offered me another room but the same issue existed there. They also offered to move us to another resort but my brother could not get into the car they were going to transport us in so we had to stay at this resort and not be able to use the bathroom in our room. I had to take my brother to the public bathrooms around the resort every time he required one. While I appreciate their attempts, I feel that they should have called the people in the handicap rooms and asked if someone would mind moving and giving us the room. It is not a nicety for us - it is a necessity. Or they could have put us in one of their "privilege suites" that may have had a larger toilet area.

Ocean Riviera Paradise: This place is great!

The rooms, pools, events and grounds are excellent. Food is also very good, did not get bored. There are lots of activities to book. The dive shop on site is fabulous to deal with. We booked an excursion to snorkel via jet ski which was a lot of fun and well organized. The entertainment was fantastic as well with lots of live music. There is a fantastic kids pool with slides etc. that looked fun. I will endorse MIKES coffee. Very good coffee, we were in there twice every day. Playa Vista Azul: Nice resort

Over all very good. Was surprised that they do not supply face cloths and facial tissue. Mini bar was not stocked daily. No fan to let steam out after shower. Tried 1 a la cart restaurant and it was horrible.

Ocean Blue and Sand: Ocean Blue and Sand

The room was far too small for 5 people, however the food was amazing, I would return if we were in a better suited room. The beach was okay, quite full of seaweed which can’t be helped as the tide was high. Very windy beach, the pool was great though.

Très amusant et beaucoup de programme à pour tout les soirs. On s'ennuie pas. La seule chose que je n'ai pas aimé, certains employés voulait qu'on va être membre de club et ils sont fatiguant parceque il nous laisse pas tranquille. En plus 2 soirée, le vendeurs locale ont amené leur marchandise à vendre et ils sont très dérangent, ils collent après nous.

Valentin El Patriarca Varadero: wonderful resort experience

I had a great time staying at this resort for the first time! The beach was beautiful, pools very nice, the overall resort was clean and well kept, hotel staff/ workers friendly and helpful. Pepe was a really great hotel entertainer! Nightly theatre shows were also really great! Would come back again.

Ocean Riviera Paradise: OMG OMG OMG

We booked a super saver jr suite(garden view) in Daisy(family) it was a great price But when we got here we asked for an upgrade and for 150 US (works out to 7.50 per day per person) we got a 4th floor suite over looking the pool and you can see the ocean. The buffet is to die for lots and lots of food. Swimming pools are amazing. Big water park area for kids with lifeguards in every pool area. Swimup pool bars There is a adult only area El Beso. There is a golf cart shuttle that runs ba [... read more]ck and forth from lobby to beach from 7am to 1am. The only drawback is that it gets full quickly. That is one of the only drawbacks. But we were at the last building(Eden by the sea) it basically took 10 min to walk to the buffet. There are 6 resturants beside the buffet Only tried the Blue Moon(romantic adults only). It was ok for me but my wife said it was the best seafood stew she had ever tasted. It is a big resort but didn't seem like it. Very very very clean . The staff here are amazing My wife and I have been to many hotels and different resorts . Oh yeah there is a mimi bar in your room that is restocked everyday. If there is one bad thing I really hated was the amount of golf carts that were only for the timeshare people. But we had a great no AMAZING TIME!!!!! I highly recommend it.

Ocean Riviera Paradise: Amazing family vacation!

This is our third resort and probably the most beautiful one. The property was beautiful, staff very friendly, pools were nice. On the down side, room smelled very humid and restaurant food was just so-so. But I would go back in a heartbeat!

Valentin El Patriarca Varadero: A little disappointed.

After a week at the Ocean Veradero el Patriarca, I am afraid it was a bit of a disappointment. Our room was not as nice as the photo in the online viewing and the room fridge was not stocked as we were told at the orientation by Air Transat. The lock on our patio door did not work and the makeshift lock pulled part of the door frame off. The food was OK. Staff was pleasant but most had a very poor knowledge of the English language.

The hotel was very clean and big. All the restaurants were nice and the staffs were very friendly. We enjoyed the shows each night at the theatre. We recommend the Sakura restaurant. The cooking show was very fun to watch

Ocean Riviera Paradise: LOVED IT!!

The Resort was absolutely amazing. The entire facility was spotless not a bug to be found and the restaurant/lobby washrooms were extremely clean. Our room was beautiful and the water pressure and hot water in the shower were fabulous. The food was delicious!!!!!! Our favorite restaurant was probably the Italian. It's a must. I can't say enough about how great and friendly the service was. And there are soooo many amenities (bowling, ice cream bar, coffee shop, casino, gym, spa, sports bar, [... read more] shops, theater) and everything is air conditioned and inside with closed doors (no annoying flies!!!). Our only disappointment was the beach....unfortunately. There were lots of chairs and the beach was nice and sandy but when entering the ocean there was only one accessible area with no large rocks or sharp coral. You just had to be very careful. Didn't stop us from enjoying the ocean everyday. The seaweed was plentiful but it was also very breezy when we were there so you can't control that. We will most definitely return!!

Food we found very good ,excellent choices the main buffet was superb plus you could always have a chef prepare you steaks or chops just to your liking as well as a fish and pasta area again with its own chef. The hotel also had three other restaurants but you did need to wear dress pants and shoes to go into these.
