Melia Marina Varadero: Melia Marina Varadero Cuba - 04MAY2023
We have been to Varadero many times, staying at deferent resorts. This resort is located at the end of the Varadero peninsula, overlooking the catamaran marina. We were a group of 6, 2 couples chose the Level package and 1 Standard. The Level package allowed us to access to roof top Level restaurant for any meal and the food was good …. Not busy this time of year. Expectations of 5-star restaurants in Cuba is unrealistic, but this resort had really good A la carte meals in the evening. As [... read more]
Starfish Cuatro Palmas: Lovely Resort with friendly people!
We enjoy a small resort and this is the best! Beach, pool, dining, bars and rooms all less than 5 minutes away. Staff all friendly and ready to listen. Special shout-out to Ms Sosa, Dary, Angel, Yan and super hero poolman Mario! This was my 2nd visit and I am looking forward to returning.
Paradisus Princesa Del Mar: Pools are amazing
We went for the Royal service, but it’s definitely not necessary. We didn’t receive many of the ‘perks’ that were supposed to be included. The food is awful, but that goes for everywhere in Cuba, as far as we could tell. The pools at this resort are amazing and most of the time very few people were in them. The beds are hard as rocks and the room was decent. The beaches are great and the water is fabulous, even in May.
Melia Las Americas: Amazing Resort
We spent our 52 Wedding Anniversary at this resort, all set up by O’Neal of tripcentral, the Cuba staff at this resort made us feel welcome and at home. Services at this resort are incredible.l would stay here again
Hotel Tuxpan: Hotel tuxpan
I thought it was a 4 star hotel. A 1.5 star at best. The elevators don't work and have been broken for a long time, stairs are steep and hand rails are loose or broken, if you have mobility issues do not book here. The grounds and pool were top notch as was the beach. The hotel staff as with all hotels I have been to are fun, friendly. However I found they would ask tourist way too often to fill their Bubba mugs with beer, at times it seemed like the tourists work as servant's to the staff. No [... read more]

Occidental Arenas Blancas: Sub par resort
My partner and I became very ill from the food on our 3rd day at this resort. We remained in our room for one entire day and could not eat anything and had severe diarrhea that continued upon our arrival home. After the 3rd day, the only thing we could eat was pineapple or watermelon, nothing pre-pared for fear of getting sick again. I understand that the pandemic played a role in the deterioration of services and that inflation and supply chain issues continue to do so, especially in Cuba, how [... read more]
Royalton Hicacos Resort and Spa: 4th time at Royalton Hicacos!
The Royalton is truly home away from home for us. Beautiful grounds on a beautiful beach. Warm friendly staff who want you to enjoy your time with them. Some rooms are updated and modern, some are in need of a refresh but you get that old Havana feeling. Food was pretty good considering the shortages they have to deal with. Go with an open mind, don’t expect perfection and you will love it. We did.
Melia Marina Varadero: Melia Marina Veradero
Hotel had a nice view of Marina. This Hotel is not on the beach, it is across the street. Our room safe didn't fully lock and 110$ went missing. It was reported to staff, no report was taken. Staff not concerned. Hotel elevator hardly worked, we were on 5th floor, lots of stairs to walk. Food was rice, beans, cooked pumpkin, lots of cabbage. Its Cuba, we don't expect gourmet food. View was nice from our room, hotel room was clean. They prefer American $$ and credit cards, you are billed in [... read more]
Valentin El Patriarca Varadero: It was ok
The hotel was nothing special. Pool and beach was very nice but that bar weren’t. Barely any drinks to pick from and a lot of them taste the same. The food was 5/10 served the same stuff almost everyday at the buffet but the restaurants that you needed reservations too were pretty decent. The buffet was also covered in cockroaches near the food and they would run across your table. I found that a lot of the staff new barley any English and they weren’t all that friendly. As soon as we got to [... read more]
Iberostar Origin Laguna Azul: Amazing resort
This was my second visit to this hotel in the past month the resort is one of my favourite places I’ve been in Cuba being there 30 plus times and by far had the best time the grounds are kept beautifully staff are amazing food was good la carts are beautiful I have nothing to say bad about this resort cannot wait to return in April
Mar Del Sur: Once is enough!
Rooms-no hot water, balcony door wouldn’t lock, safety deposit was a joke Pool was dirty, music was loud, public washrooms were dirty, no toilet paper Dining room -food was blend and lots of flies, Beach area was dirty, no garbage cans Beach bar was empty Cats were malnourished Mosquitoes were everywhere All inclusive wasn’t really inclusive!
Melia Marina Varadero: Elevator hardly worked

Sol Palmeras: Amazing resort
Hotel was great second time going there with my wife. We enjoyed the a la carted restaurant specially the Italian restaurant. The entertainers were amazing it was good to see familiar faces. I will be coming back again with family
Hotel Los Cactus: Staff are amazing, resort not so much!
Grounds are not maintained, needs major overhaul. Buffet restaurant needs to meet basic hygiene regulations, flies all over food, cats roaming around waiting to jump up to take leftover food. No butter, condiments, salt & pepper scarce and had to be requested. Food and alcohol shortages every day, different items not available on different days. Pool liner needs replacing, beach shower broke and was not repaired. Rooms were clean and resort staff worked hard to make sure you enjoyed your s [... read more]
Paradisus Varadero: Overall 4*
Staff are super friendly! The rooms are large! The pools and beach are amazing. I wish there was more food selection but I understand with the food shortage in the country I can’t complain, food tasted good. I wish there were more different activities everyday instead of the same thing everyday basically. Also I was disappointed all the water activity facility was closed? Also I was hoping nightly entertainment was going to be big shows, but maybe because it was off season they were smaller sh [... read more]
Starfish Cuatro Palmas: Awesomely Relaxing
This was my second stay at this resort, first time was twelve years ago. For me, its about the size of the resort, and Starfish Cuatro Palmas is the perfect size. This trip, paid a little extra for a room on the resort, well worth not having to walk across the street from the econo building( which also was great). Greeted every day by friendly staff, cleaning staff, ground keepers and security staff. The food was great, plenty of items to choose from in the buffet. Each day fresh fruit, fresh ve [... read more]
Occidental Arenas Blancas: Amazing Beach
The beach was definitely the best part of the resort. Absolutely amazing. Staff are friendly, work hard and do the best with what they have to help you out. Facilities is in need of maintenance and could use a good refresh and deep clean, but didn't spend much time in our rooms.
Barcelo Solymar: Not good at all
Pools were dirty, food was so bad my husband and I got sick with diarrhea, barely any food only ham and bread sandwiches rooms keys constantly break, no activities nothing to do. And was super expensive Maybe if this place was a lot cheaper it’d be worth the price But this was not the best experience Only good thing is this place was by the town where the food was much better and the beaches.
Paradisus Princesa Del Mar: Beautiful resort!!
Looking for great sun, lots of ocean, long sandy beaches, a variety of pools ,and extra friendly staff...Paradisus is your place. Leo was our concierge and the best ever to look after all your needs and to make a-la-carte arrangements. The Cuban government need to step up their trade with other world countries. Their people live in poverty and this affects what Cuba can offer tourists. Red, white wine and champaign were almost non-existent as well as many cocktail ingredients....lots of rum!
