Royalton CHIC Punta Cana: Definitely not a five star resort

The resort was quite old looking and had no fans to keep the airflow going. I had to ask for my welcome drink and moreover the guy at the concierge treated me as second class since I was not part of the diamond club. I felt everyone at the front desk was about making some extra bucks. The dinning experience was also quite painful since the air condition was working at minimal. Drinks were pretty basic but service at the bar and dinning was pretty good. Everyone was very friendly. Pool size was ok but several areas were booked for diamond club, so it was very hard to find a decent spot. Most of the cabanas were not being used but they always had a reserve sign on them. Our room was ok, nothing great. We kept complaining about the door since it was totally jammed, but we were totally ignored, so we gave up. There were literally three English channels and even those were horrible print. I couldn’t even just relax in the room and watch something. The bed was comfortable. The bar in the room was only beer and water. I have been to other resorts that have a better bar. I would not come back to this resort.

Royalton Bavaro Resort and Spa: Ok resort…

The resort its self is very nice, and the rooms are beautiful. The pools and lazy river were loads of fun. The beach was sup par, tons of kelp and buoys and ropes sectioning off areas so absolutely no classic scenic ocean view. The customer service is what really put us down. We called numerous times for a trolly as we were 20 mins from the lobby and we suggested the service, and it would just not show up despite claiming they would. Buffets were over staffed and under serviced. We often made du [... read more]e with a missing fork, napkins, and cups, having to share because staff was not attentive. Our room kept being stocked for 3 people even though we were 4, we brought it up several times with no success, never received a shampoo/cond/soap restock, we had 1 tiny supply for a whole week for 4 of us even after asking. Spanish speaker so no language barrier excuse. Bars were excellent and friendly. Casino is really small and empty. You have to pay for the surfing which was deceiving. Nightly entertainment was a gamble, there was a schedule but whether it would happen was a guess. Tons of us guests would gather round the stage area and wait into night and eventually disperse without any entertainment most nights.

Grand Bavaro Princess: Great Resort

The Resort is beautiful, clean and safe. The room was always cleaned but the only issue was mosquitoes in the room. Maybe to work on that but for the rest it was great. I loved the family ambiance it has, the different entertainment every day both for kids and adults. The food was amazing and there was a variety of food whether at the buffet or at restaurants. The little cars for transportation from one corner of the resort to the other is a great feature.

Bahia Principe Explore Turquesa: Superb resort for families

Amazing hotel for families with young children like ours. With two waterparks and great food and drinks you will all enjoy your stay. Great pools and nightly shows to top it all off as well. The only downside is sea weed at the beach.

Bahia Principe Explore Punta Cana: Caution with this resort

Just to put context on me and my family, I have been working 2-3 jobs to pay for this lifetime vacation for me and my family (wife and 2 kids 16years old boy and 19 years old girl). First everything went well with airport and flights. The problem started with arriving at the Hotel Bahia Principe Grand. First deception is that none of the request I made for room were granted – Close to Beach – upper floor - at least 1 room with 2 beds. This was a real letdown; I know request for rooms are not guaranteed but none of the 3 request is a big big disappointment. After the first night my son told me the rollaway bed he did not sleep well, so I decide to go to the lobby and demand another room. THIS IS WHERE THING WENT SOUR AND WERE I WAS PROBABLY TRICK, EXPLOITED, CHEATED OUT OF 450$ US DOLLARS BY BAHIA PRINCIPE FRONT DESK STAFF. When I ask for another room, I was told it was not possible except rooms in the newly renovated room called Premium room. I ask the person at the front desk is these room right beside construction site because I notice on the first day that there was lots of construction on the first day, the person at the front desk told me and assured me it was not, so I trusted him and paid the 450 dollars for the room upgrade so my son would not have to sleep in a rollaway bed. Once we arrived at the room 3112 in Villa 3. I saw that I was lied to and deceived by person at front desk, this room was the closest from construction there was and my kids (Teenagers) who like to sleep in the morning were not able because of screaming construction employees at 7h30AM and heavy construction starting at 8hAM every morning. Also, my son made me notice that they had small ants in the room. The 3rd day my son told me, Dad this vacation was supposed to be to relax, rest and fun. This made me very frustrated, so I went to the front desk again because I paid for this not acceptable upgrade and lost 2hours on day 2 to move all our stuff, I ask the front desk to find us other rooms and they said resort was full!!!!!!! So I demanded my 450$ back and they said it was not possible. So at this point I was very upset and try very hard to not let this ruined our vacation but this was not the last story of these room from HELL…… 3rd night 11hpm Room 3110 my wife goes to toilet and then I ear screams, big big insect cockroach in the bathroom I try to kill it and could not it lodge itself under the toilet, I call front desk and finally at 1h30AM someone show up with a can of Raid, spays under the toilet and leaves. 4 day we notice a refrigerator is not working called front desk but never got repaired all 8days we were their also we notice really bad smell in room that’s when I notice bad stains of MOLD all over our selling in the room….Also the air conditioning in our room was barely working I had to hop in the shower 2 times a night and take a cold shower so I could sleep!!!! At this point if it would a been possible to leave this resort I would been out off their in a heartbeat. Unfortunately, this story is not over. When had visit from cockroaches for the next 4 nights, again my wife went to the bathroom at 1ham et another cockroach so I called front desk they said someone would come, 2ham nobody shows up, so I had to go cockroach hunting at 2ham after I that I did not call front desk anymore and killed every cockroach we had in room. I went back to front desk but was not taken seriously for bugs in room, bad smell and mold also they told us old refrigerator and air conditioning is normal , which was not because my kids room was so cool and refrigerator too. I did try to reach by email TripCentral to the person that I had as email contact when I purchase my vacation but like the resort, they had my money and where not interested in helping me. I that time I just gave up with front desk and TripCentral to recuperate my money 450$ because I was trying to enjoy my vacation. Is there anyway I get my 450$ US dollars back and some kind of compensation from tripcentral for leaving me there and not respond to my emails. I HOPE A GET A RESPOND FROM THIS

Ocean El Faro: Resort was ok

I personally would not go back or recommend this resort to my family or friends .The lack in customer service, miserable and unhelpful staff made the experience not so pleasant but regardless we still made the best of it. Beach was not nice ,noticed lots of garbage around but then again that’s the tourist leaving mess and the staff could only do so much. Again it’s the service , so many servers walking but nothing happening and we had to constantly wave someone down to even get a glass of water and tipping does not change that. Rooms were ok but I wouldn’t recommend upgrading , they charge a lot and the rooms don’t look any different anyway. Their lobby was beautiful

Riu Republica: Party hotel

Hotel itself was very clean, most of the staff they are helpful and nice. The only complaint was the room keys always not working. And my room more close to the beach, so I need to back and forth few times to the front desk. Beach was amazing and lot of chairs and shade area under palm trees. Room was decent. I am not impressed of the foods in Italian one. The pizzas and pastas not in standard. I enjoyed in buffet restaurant, lots of varieties. Lots of party in the hotel, you won't be bored. VIK Hotel Arena Blanca: You get what you paid for

Quiet hotel, entertainment non existent, so not noisy at night, food is decent (no stomach issues), buffet style, no a la carte restaurants, presentation is lacking, but quality is good, alcohol options are very limited, rooms are good, AC works well, one time power was off but they fixed it fast, safe is separate charge $2 per day for the lock, staff works around the clock, always on time, keeping place clean and well maintained, there are ongoing repairs on the ground but they are not disrupti [... read more]ng, the beach is sand but it is partially destroyed and seaweed in the sea makes it less enjoyable than it could be, it was raining every day, massage $50, it is a good idea to bring sunscreen and burn reliefs and other meds with you as options to buy are limited and prices are steep.

VIK Hotel Arena Blanca: False Rating :(

This hotel advertised being a four star but it was more like a one star. The dining hall was not enclosed so it was hot. The food was not covered so there were flies on it especially the fruit. I ended up getting sick and I’m still sick now. The beach had algae all over so it was hard to swim or we couldn’t swim at all. We couldn’t even walked in/near the algea because of the many flies and garage in it. Clearly the place is run down. We saw men fixing the roof when we arrived. The pool had chi [... read more]pped paint and looked cheap. The toilet paper holder kept dropping down. The shower water was rarely hot. We were very disappointed for the money we paid and couldn’t relax. Because I got sick I was scared to drink the water. The overall feeling we got is that this resort gave up and will close down soon. I believe we should be reimbursed somewhat because we paid for a higher quality service and got less. When we tried to talk to the staff about the beach they just passed us off the the manager who wasn’t even there. Had the beach been swimammbe and the the food been healthy I would’ve dealt with the rest of the problems, but having a lingering illness due to this hotel’s unsanitarianess is unacceptable. This is a beautiful hotel on a perfect beach with a wonderful large pool and thr best service anyone could ask for. Easy to find your way around and lots to see and do. Has something for everyone. Laid out nicely for the adults section as well.

Serenade All Suites Adults Only Resort: Nice Resort

Just spent 2 weeks at this resort. We liked it and would go back again. It's quiet with not much night life so if you're looking to party this place is not for you. I will say the pools are the cleanest I've ever seen. Grounds are nice and well kept. Rooms are nice and air works well. If you have mobility issues it's perfect since everything is close together. Food is okay, hit and miss with some but you'll still find enough to eat. Hair dryers in Rooms are not very powerful so bring your  [... read more]own. Pillows are crap and could use changing. They are odd sizes and not your typical pillow. Staff were friendly and accommodating however some servers couldn't speak any English. Plenty of chairs available and spread out nicely. If you're looking for a small, quiet, clean resort you'll enjoy it.

Grand Palladium Select Bavaro: Not as expected

HORRIBLE HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE. We had a leak in bathroom first day and we're here with a 9 month old on our first trip. I had to call 5 times and still the problem wasn't rectified. I had to call a 6th time and yell and swear at them to eventually get a room change. The pools and beach are all nice, but the customer service is rated at zero stars if I could rate it. We also ordered room service as with a baby it is difficult to always go out to grab food, ordered lunch and still 2 hours lat [... read more]er, nothing arrived to the room. We have been on multiple all inclusive resorts, and this has by far been the worst experience ever in terms of customer service. I expected much more from this resort. Serenade Punta Cana Beach and Spa Resort: 3/5 Stars

I was on this trip for my sister’s bachelorette trip. We had 9 guests total and 4 rooms. My sister (the bride) and I had the smallest room with our friends being upgraded to suites, and one room was even in the VIP area. The resort is smaller than most. There are a lot of children and families and no adult-only areas. The food was as you would expect. The staff was unhelpful. El Beso Adults Only at Ocean El Faro: It’s ok I wouldn’t say Amazing, I would not recommend.

We stayed on El Beso adult side.The Hotel and the grounds are beautiful and the swim up room was the best. The cleaning Lady did a super job on our room. That’s probably because we used to leave a couple of $$ and a present representing Canada every day. We tipped wherever we went. On the Ocean del Faro side there’s a beautiful water park and lazy river for the kids. That’s over $1000canadian. (That’s robbery)For the prestige service.You would get a butler, top shelf liquor. And the butler makes all the reservations for you. They are crooks. If you don’t get this service you’ll have a hard time booking it yourself. I would have to get up early in the morning and stand in line on El Marcodo to get time like 8:30. They keep the best times for people that pays for the prestige service. There is a hotel app. I tried to book between 6 to 7:30. and every time there was no spaces available. Not unless you’re ok with having supper by 9 or 9:30pm. The Specialty restaurants are not that great. The steakhouse the steaks were like rubber. The Italian restaurant was not that great. I got a lot of pasta and about 6 shrimps. The salmon was good. It’s the same food everyday. Be careful not to fall for one of those time share packages. Two times I was approached to attend a meeting, they were offering my wife a free massage package. Please don’t fall for that trap. You’ll never get out. It’s all about the money they will try to get every $ out of you. I could go on and on. I would not recommend this resort.

Serenade Punta Cana Beach and Spa Resort: Good resort

All swim out rooms are on the ground floor and cost extra. Floors 2 & 3 are regular rooms. Having said that elevators don’t always work so beware if you are looking for handicap access. Not reliable. Check in seems unorganized. Rooms generally not ready till 6pm. Other than that the resort is good.

Ocean Blue and Sand: Fantastic Resort!

This resort is excellent in many ways. The rooms are very nice and clean, the grounds are well maintained and the staff are always there to help you if needed. The food is the very best we have had at any resort! There is a wide selectin of menus for breakfast, lunch and dinner. The food is very tasty and of very good quality. It is always hot and staff will assist you if you are looking for something specific. There is champagne for breakfast and wine for the other meals. The resort is very lar [... read more]ge so lots of walking but there is a tram/shuttle running every 15 minutes to take you to any part of the resort. The pools are beautiful and well maintained and there are lots of activities. The beach is very nice for both swimming and walking. There are several resorts around when you walk on the beach so you are not alone. The resort is very well laid-out so all of the restaurants and shopping is very central on the boulevard. The Lobby is huge and the center of entertainment activities. The theater, bowling alley, casino, Mike's Coffee and Ice Cream Parlor are all adjacent to the Lobby. There is an excellent variety of entertainment, every night and the Piano Bar is the best! Many children activities all day long, so they cater to every age group. There was a rock band one night and excellent Tenors another night. Other types of music was also played for everyone's enjoyment. The Blue Team is very good and try to engage all guests to have a good time. You will truly like this resort!!
