Bahia Principe Explore Esmeralda: Room for Improvements after Renovations

If looking for the Luxury Experience perhaps one day it will be Esmeralda but for now it does not stand up to the experiences I have had both at Ambar and Fantasia. A portion of the staff certainly lacked experience. Guest experience for example could not be found at their designated station set up at the building entrance any of the numerous times we passed by. At the beginning of the stay a rep. was outside the breakfast buffet, noted a few requests we had (essential oil scented room and slip [... read more]pers) but never happened. On the last day met another rep. told him of this but by then too late. Another inconsistency was with the kid's club night entertainment. Timing of anything for the kids was a miss most nights. However, during the day the ladies were very good to look after the children. I would recommend Esmeralda but not to expect the luxury experience.

Breathless Punta Cana Resort: Nice Weekend Romantic Getaway, Not Recommended for Solo Travelers

Very nice resort but not worth the week stay. Pools close at 6:30, beach is closed at 7:30, lots of construction going on inside the halls and outside on the beach. Plenty of space and chairs by pool and on the beach but no relaxation with people selling items every two minutes. Food was excellent and service was amazing, Jean Carlos on pool side and multiple members at the restaurants and xhale breakfast are the only reason i did not cancel my plans early for a new location. Serenade Punta Cana Beach and Spa Resort: Well enjoyed

Hotel was aesthetically very nice. Rooms were clean and bug free (don’t leave your sliding door opened and you’ll have no issues. Rooms were cleaned daily- always had new towels and hot water. They originally faced us to construction which was not very nice; however, after going to front desk and they had us in a new room the next day which was pool view and much nicer view. Pools were nice, they often moved around with where they had music- I’d have liked them to stick to one spot so we didn’t have to travel around. Pool grounds were extremely rough- my child’s feet were bleeding and the pool floor pretty well shredded through two pairs of water shoes. The beach had a lot of seaweed with the exception of a spot to the left. There was always chairs available at the pool and beach so that was nice. The sports bar was good and open late, beach truck had good hamburgers and hot dogs. Coffee bar was a very nice touch in the mornings and evenings. Not much to do in the evening- we did travel with a young child so we’re not that bothered about it as he was tired. They had nightly entertainment but the theatre is so incredibly hot that it was very difficult to sit through the hour. They have a kids water park but the big slides were too large for my child and the other kids pool was a bit too young for my child so there was not much for the in between stage. All in all it was a nice resort and I was pleased with it. It checked pretty well all the important boxes

Occidental Punta Cana: Beautiful Beach

The hotel was older, but very clean. Our room was in a nice central location, on the 3rd floor, with a high vaulted ceiling with a balcony overlooking one of the pools. The food in the buffet was average, not a huge selection, but okay. The specialty dining rooms were better. There were 3 large pools that looked lovely in photographs, however the majority of the pool area was so shallow (less than 2 feet deep) it wasn't possible to actually swim, and because the pools were so shallow the wat [... read more]er was so warm it was like stepping into bathwater - no way to cool off. The beach however, was beautiful. We were there in early June and it wasn't crowded. The sand was soft and the turquoise water was crystal clear. Bahia Principe Explore Esmeralda: Amazing Vacation

The hotel was beautiful, our room was always clean and well maintained, the grounds are absolutely gorgeous, the beach is the best beach in Punta Cana. Every day the maintenance team is washing the common areas. Most of the staff is wonderful, friendly and very accommodating. The entertainment team is great. Manuel & Carla at the reception are fantastic, Carlos at the snack bar is very hard working and always on top of his team providing top notch service, Felipe and Jose at the bar close th [... read more]e snack bar are always smiling upbeat and putting on a show. I’ve been to the Dominican 13times, first time to the Bahia Luxury Esmeralda, this was such a great vacation, will definitely return to this location.

Bahia Principe Escape Ambar: Great food, Great time, Great service!

Second time at this resort. The food at the a la carte restaurants, the coffee at the Cafe was really good especially the Mongolian restaurant! The service from the beach server, the servers at the buffet restaurant and the omelet cooks, the butler at the villa, the hotel staff at the lobby ...all were so attentive and made sure we were looked after. There were 8 of us, we had an amazing time. The beach is literally right there. Enjoyed my vacation!

Riu Bambu: Fun but room for improvement

The good stuff: the beach is absolutely beautiful. We travelled in June and there was no sea weed at all. It was so much nicer than Bavaro beach. The staff are super friendly and fun. The food was actually pretty decent for Dominican from my experience at a few resorts. Breakfast was awesome, lots of selection and the fruit was amazing. We really liked Kulinarium for dinner but the other ala carte restaurants were meh. Beds were comfortable and the room was fairly clean. Housekeeping made up our [... read more] rooms every day which was nice. This resort is great for friends and a younger crowd. There was always music and dancing. It has a party vibe. I would not recommend the resort for families. The not so good stuff: the pools were really dirty and need more regular cleaning. The buildings are a little run down and in need of reburbishment. I would stay again with friends but not bring my family. There is no water park or splash pads for kids on the resort. You have to walk about 10 minutes to the water park which is fine but there is no bar or food once you are there. The booze is bottom shelf. Overall, the vibe was super fun and we had a great time. I would probably stay again for the price but hoping to try the palace next time.

Hard Rock Hotel and Casino Punta Cana: Beautiful resort but way too big

This was a very well maintained and beautiful resort. Rooms were great, pools were fabulous. There was a few negatives. First, you had to pay for drinks at the casino. You had to walk so far for certain things....they did have a shuttle though. Limited menu for room service. Snorkeling excursion was 4 hrs and only did 10 minutes of Snorkeling. Did not have empathy for kids with special needs. Other then that it was great. Would not go there again though.

Majestic Colonial Punta Cana Beach Resort: Will Definitely Visit Again!

We visited this resort just a week ago and can't wait to go back ..My husband and I travelled with another couple and had a fabulous time .Can not complain about anything. We stayed at Colonial Adult only and highly recommend it..Marlbin was our butler, ask for him if you go. He met us everyday to see what we needed. Greeted us every morning with "Hola , Good Morning" by Whats Ap. He organized a romantic dinner on the beach f [... read more]or us as we were celebrating our anniversary and our friends birthday. When we arrived back to our rooms from the beach to get ready for dinner ,he had our rooms decorated with balloons , banners, rose pedals in the jacuzzi all set with bubbles. The dinner was at an extra cost but well worth the experience. We were fortunate to get reservations in the restaurants and enjoyed every meal. Grounds are immaculate. Our room with jacuzzi was perfect. View of the pool and ocean, great size balcony. All the staff we came across were very hard working , polite and ready to meet your needs. From bartenders to waitstaff to housekeeping and the gardener who had a smile for us every morning. We will be back, Everything was EXCELENTE!!!!!

Grand Sirenis Punta Cana Resort: Would not recommend

I was disappointed in this resort. The room was not clean, sheets were stained, the food was not the best and we found a huge cockroach in our room. This resort definitely needs more English speaking employees as we found it difficult to communicate. The website indicates a 4.5 star rating but would only give it 2.5.

Riu Palace Punta Cana: Good Resort

The room we got (3113) was fantastic. However, the beach area had no palapa’s and the chairs were horribly old and disgusting. On this basis we stayed around the pool. Cleanliness around the pool areas was less than desirable. The beach itself was great. The food and drinks were very good. The service and staff were excellent.

Grand Bavaro Princess: Wonderful Resort

From check in to departure this hotel checked the boxes for us. We were platinum and were close to beach platinum pool coffee house etc. The check in went great and quick with Juan and we were able to eat at PBG after getting to our room. The restaurants (steakhouse Mexican Italian Tanuki) as well as the Sports bar and main buffet were good. The rooms clean and mini fridge stocked and restocked daily, The beach is excellent we did not get to the main pool and the platinum and quiet pool were bus [... read more]y. The grounds are immaculate. The Royal people are there but didn't seem to bother anyone that we saw. I would not hesitate to recommend this resort as the price vs. resort makes it one of the best we have been to.

Breathless Punta Cana Resort: Fantastic! We’ll be back.

Best resort yet, of many. All fantastic…from check-in, rooms, grounds, pools, people, entertainment, service. Everything well maintained and clean. Only wished I’d taken more pictures and stayed much longer. We’ll be back.

Riu Republica: Fantastic and party central resort!!!

The facility was awesome with a lot of sun bathing chairs along the beach, there’s different restaurants and pools you can go to and the food is awesome! The service is fantastic, although the bartenders do get very busy sometimes! If you love parties and love having a good time with your buddies, come here!!!

Bahia Principe Explore Legend: Great Resort especially young children

Great rooms very clean friendly staff, always working to keep grounds tidy. Resort is beautiful the only thing I would say is it is more for very young children even the entrainment not too much for the adults coming with very young kids, but if you have kids strollers to about 6 great Vacation. The food is awesome everywhere from the restaurants, buffets, room service beach...Great Food.

Ocean El Faro: Stay Away - Would NOT recommend!!!

Front desk does not share information, we arrived for check in at 3pm and asked when the buffet closes, we were pushed a QR code & told us to look up everything on the app. Buffet closed at 3:30pm. If they had told us we could have had an opportunity to eat after a long flight. My husband contacted guest service twice for a bday celebration (day of & next day), got nothing, no follow up & no apology. Bellboys had no clue which buses/vans came to pick up guests. On departure we called bellboys to [... read more] pick up our luggage an hour before time to meet. When we showed up at requested time/spot to meet for pickup, we stated which airline/flight time we were with & were told to sit down and wait & that the bus was coming for us. 20 minutes later, we approached AirTransat representative to follow up as bellboys weren’t giving us any info. AirTransat staff told us the bus had left 10 minutes ago. The bellboys have a clipboard & checklist for aesthetic but it’s completely useless because how were they that unaware of their surroundings esp after we approached them multiple times in the 20 minute wait and they kept telling us to go sit down and wait. The bellboys eventually told us they’d call us a taxi for $70USD. Not sure if this was a scam or inside job where they’d call one of their friends for an overpriced taxi for the cut of the money but the way they were so dismissive of their mistake & unapologetic shows how little they value their guests. The AirTransat representative was able to call a van which came in about 15 minutes and we did not have to pay extra for it. We had no idea of the theatre showtimes or what performances were being played, again because it wasnt communicated & the onus to navigate the QR code, ask for information that isn’t delivered & try to figure things on our own falls on the guests. We felt harassed by staff who kept running after us asking if we’re interested in a “welcome gift” even after denying it, they did not stop pressuring us or following us as we walked in the resort. Overall the hotel is clean, compact and nicely kept. Buffet staff/room cleaning service staff were very nice however our experience with front desk, guest service, bell boys & the “welcome gift” pushers made this an unfavourable experience. I would recommend AGAINST this hotel.

Lopesan Costa Bavaro Resort: DISAPPOINTED

Very pleased with the resort clean and friendly. However we booked this resort for the kids water park and it was down the whole week we were there for maintenance. We should of been told that this was going to happen and we could of picked another resort. I am sure that this maintenance work was scheduled as there were a few people working on it, this did not happen overnight!!! We asked the hotel for compensation due to the fact that the water parked was not up and running and they did NOTHIN [... read more]G. They told us to seek compensation from you people. So do you plan on doing anything for us with regards to this. It was very disappointing for the kids!!!

Riu Bambu: Just ok!

Resort was just ok. Old and needs work. The service, drinks and food were not the greatest. Beach was beautiful. Rooms were old and damp. Live entertainment was great, good party resort and you get what you pay for.

Hyatt Vivid Punta Cana: ok resort

The rooms need updating. Beach is small. Food was good. Entertainment during the day was ok. Evening entertainment I have seen better. For what I paid for I would go back. Staff at the Buffet, Pool Bar very friendly.

Ocean Blue and Sand: A1 site and service

Had zero to complain about. Everything from beach to food to cleanliness and the staff were all top notch. I would recommend this for all age groups. Beach was cleaned of weeds, food was always good, buffet was switched daily and the staff were very friendly.
