Royalton Splash Punta Cana: Great for families...bad for tummies

The grounds, pools, splash park, rooms, and kid zone were great! We had lots of fun! The food left something to be desired and by the weeks end both my husband and myself were sick as was our 7 year old....our son did not get sick but he stuck to plain pasta and cereals as he’s a fussy eater. We also did not get notified that our shuttle was moved up 6 hours and people were sent to a different resort due to plane delay. We showed up 2 hours before our shuttle and waited 11 hours for our shu [... read more]ttle before taking a taxi to the airport at 330am so we didn’t miss our flight. Staff did not communicate anything to us even after asking many questions.

Grand Memories Santa Maria: Bad resort

No hygiene, room was dirty, no Internet service for three days, had to switch room 3 times due faulty rooms, old TV, no beach towels for three days, food were cold, had to complain to get water bottle to the room and the sheet change in the room, this is not a 4+ hotel. It should be 2 star hotel.

Resonance Blu Varadero: 9th time there and they never disappoint!!

As always every time we go to Memories it is just like coming home. The staff are so very friendly and will go above and beyond to help you! A special thanks to Arletti and Amari for all their help ! Will definitely keep coming back to this wonderful resort!

Sanctuary at Grand Memories Varadero: Great spot

Very nice spot. I highly recommend the Adult side only for this resort. If your a family the take that side. Want own privacy do Adult only. Great staff ,pools hotel management. Rooms always clean and bar fridge stocked.

Memories Paraiso: Excellent Resort, beach & service

We’ve used Travel Agency - Tripcentral - agent Monika Monist to book our holiday in Cayo Santa Maria - Cuba from 26 March ‘till 9 April 2019. Tour by plane and bus was very well organized. The Memories Paraiso hotel we stayed was clean and comfortable with Ocean and beach view. The location was great ( close to restaurants buffet and beach). Sanctuary at Grand Memories Varadero: Beautiful Oasis

Lovely resort within a resort. Suitable for older vacationers. Peaceful poolside, and Varadero Beach is breathtaking. Caters to return guests. If looking for a lively spot, not the place. Would recommend for a quiet couple getaway

Sol Turquesa Beach: First time in Cuba, many more to come !!

The entire stay was amazing! Only thing that could use some work Is the food. Pools were awesome , minus the time the filters kicked out. If this resort had more maintenance staff and just more staff in general it could really thrive as a resort people would want to come back to time after time!

Memories Flamenco Beach Resort: Beautiful Beach

My husband and I traveled to Memories Flamenco April 4th-11th/2019 .The beach ,lobby , bars and restaurants were well maintained, the grounds were beautiful .The staff were very friendly and the food was plentiful. The rooms need to be updated and maintained and the public washrooms were disgusting ,the smell from the washrooms were unpleasant and some of the time there were no toilet paper. Resonance Blu Varadero: Very entertaining resort

The hotel lobby was great. Not enough selection of food in smaller restaurants and food wasn’t very good Beach was amazing Staff was so entertaining and so friendly and kind. My room needed to be fixed up. Too old. The shower head has no place to be hung My phone didn’t work and when I told them about it they said they would check it out but didn’t. Grand Memories Varadero: Not so Grand Memories

Do not recommend this resort! The grounds were well kept, the food for Cuba was ok. Enternight was good.The negatives were many. Line ups of up to 30 to 45 minutes for eggs, grilled meat, pasta, bar, specialty coffee, currency exchange. 2nd night experienced non stop diarrhea, vomiting. Think it may have been the alfredo sauce. Cleanliness of resort and room absolutely terrible! Our room was cleaned daily(?) The entire week there was a q-tip and a pill left behind on the floor. Our b [... read more]eds made daily, but it looked like they literally pulled the top sheets up without straightening the bottom sheets. Our sheets were not changed the entire week. The clincher that did us in was the theater washrooms! My husband went to use the washroom, 2 urinals were full of vomit! The second night the same, he informed staff. 3rd night a sign on the door, out of order, the urinals were still full of vomit!!!!

Memories Caribe Beach Resort: Average Resort

The resort itself was average. We had a renovated room, but because of the open space under the door, bugs and critters would regularly come in. e.g. frogs, cockroaches, geckos, spiders. We were also severely bitten by sand fleas even though we used bug spray on ourselves and on the bedding. Not pleasant! The lagoon/lake that runs throughout the property is beautiful but is a breeding ground for mosquitos and other insects. Our room and public areas were kept very clean. Toilet paper was  [... read more]always replenished (which wasn't the case on previous visits to other Cuban resorts). The food at the buffet table was not appetizing at all. We realize that Cuba is not renowned for its fine dining. Basically, the food was pretty much always the same items reheated. We mostly went to the cooking stations waiting in line to have our main course meals prepared. At least this food was fresh and more appetizing. All 3 à la carte restaurants were average. While the beach itself was long and beautiful, it was always crowded with people reserving all the lounge chairs before dawn. We were told by other guests that in order to get a lounge chair under a palapa, you needed to lay down your towel the night before, which, by the way, is against resort policy. Not fair! We paid the same price as everyone else and didn't get the opportunity to enjoy this beautiful beach which is Memories Caribe's main attraction. I was NOT getting up in the middle of the night to walk to the beach in the dark to reserve chairs! We stayed mostly by the pool, only walking the beach and playing in the ocean for a few minutes during our two week stay. We were very impressed, however, with all the staff. From housekeeping, waiters, gardeners and entertainment, all were so friendly and attentive to our needs. Although this review is not very positive, we did enjoy our vacation at Memories Caribe. They do their best with what they have!

Sanctuary at Grand Memories Santa Maria: Beautiful resort

The hotel appeared old and in need of minor repairs like painting,bolts missing from railings etc... The grounds were okay same as hotel,ground keepers need to be on top of things. The pool and the beach are beautiful and the staff (our butler,waiters/waitresses,bartenders and entertainment staff) were amazingly helpful and efficient.

Sol Turquesa Beach: scarry and NOT MUCH SECURITY for this resort/

the resort was nice, too many stairs we counted over 93 to get down to beach area.. BEACH WAS NOT NICE TOO MANY WEEDS .. WE EVENTUALLY SLEPT BUT NOT WELL we complained to front desk and customer relations they laughed and sAid it must be water boy, we said at 2;00 am and 11;00 at night no way they said they would post security out side our room that night on friday UNFORTUNATLY AGAIN ON FRIDAY NIGHT AT 11;00 PM 2 MEN TRYED ENTERING OUT ROOM WE HAD OUR LARGE TABLE PUSHED UP AGAINST THE DOOR WITH TV ETC.... THEY GOT IN AND PUSHED TABLE OUT 4 INCHES ,, THE TABLE SCREECHED AND WE JUMPED UP SCREAMING I CALLED FRONT DESK YELLING HELP 3 TIMES THEY SAID SCECURITY IS ON WAY . OUR ROOM WAS RIGHT NEXT TO LOBY NO ONE CAME 7 MINUTES LATER WE CALLED BACK AND ASKED FOR SECURITY TO COME NO ONE CAME,, I TRYED CALLING BACK TO LOBBE 3 MORE TIMES AFTER THAT AND NO ANSWER I CONTACTED MY DAUGHTER HERE IN CANADA AND TOLD HER IF WE END UP DEAD,, HERE IS THE INFO OUR ROOM. OUR RESORT, THE TIMES WE CALLED FRONT DESK AND THEY SAID SECURITY IS ON THERE WAY BUT NO ONE CAME HALF OUR LATER I CALLED BACK TO FRONT DESK SCREAMING FOR THEM TO COME AND GET US NOW AND BRING US TO LOBY THEY MAN THAT ANSWERED SAID... WHY..... I HAD TO SAY DID NOT ANYONE TELL U WHATS HEAPPENED OMG... SOME ONE GOT INTO OUR ROOM ITS THE 3RD TIME IN A ROW SOME ONE TRYED GETING INTO OUR ROOM AND THE 3RD TIME THEY DID GET IN WE WERE CRYING AND SHAKING ABOUT 25 TO 12;00 2 MEN FROM LOBY CAME TO OUR DOOR LAUGHING TELLING US NO WORRY CUBA IS SAFE WE CAN STAY IN OUR ROOM THEY WILL ASIGN SECURITY WE SAID WE HAD COMPLAINED ABOUT THIS A HAPPENING A 3RD NIGHT IN A ROW, they said nothing had been documented and no security was asigned out side our room the office staff thought this was pretty funny we said NO were not staying in this room take us to loby were staying there for night AS WE HAD TO BE UP FOR 5;00 AM TO EAT AND CATCH BUS BUS TO AIRPORT.. THEY SAID GET OUR STUFF TOGETHER AND THEY WILL BE BACK IN 5 MINUTES 1/2 HOUR LATER SOME ONE CAME BACK AS WE CALLED FRONT DESK AGAIN AS TO WERE THEY WERE THEY SAID 5 MINUTES THEY CAME BACK AND SAID THERE TAKING US TO ANOTHER ROOM WE SAID NO WAY TAKE US TO LOBBY SO WE STAYED IN LOBY FOR THE REST OF NIGHT NOT SLEEPING THEY TOLD US THE FRONT DESK AND BAR THAT WAS OPEN 24 HOURS WILL LOOK AFTER US BUT WHEN THEY LOOKED AT US THEY LAUGHED AS THOUGH IT WAS FUNNY WE WERE TERRIFIED NO ONE DONE ANYTHING BOUT THIS IF 2 WOMEN ARE TRAVELING ALONE MAKE SURE U PUT UR DRESSER UP AGAINST UR DOOR AND ANYTHING HEAVY JUST IN CASE MAKE SURE U HAVE A PLAN IN CASE ANY OF THIS HAPPENS TO U WE DO NOT RECOMEND THIS RESORT,, the room they gave us had a damaged door held a piece of wood in with 2 pieces duct tape THE PEOPLE IN MAIN RESTAURENTS AND A LA CARTES THERE WERE AMAZING, VERY NICE AND KIND...

Memories Trinidad Del Mar: A great vacation!

What a beautiful resort! The staff is all amazing, the food was excellent and the beach is perfect. The weather for the two weeks we were there was picture perfect every day all day long. The rooms are very clean and have lots of space. There is a double decker bus that comes by a few times daily to take you into Trinidad and you can ride it all day for 5 CUC. That was fun. Make sure you visit some of the small villages around the resort. The people are lovely there. At no time did we feel we were not safe and we went off on our own a lot. This is an awesome feeling for sure. This is a great place to vacation. We stayed for two weeks and were never bored. We will be going back there for sure!

Memories Paraiso: Very nice resort

The grounds are beautifull. The beach is amaizing.food was good. I missed the snack bar and the breakfast buffet at the beach ( next to the pool). Room was good and the maid DID an excelent job . The pool area is beautifull. IT needs working outside showers. A Great vacation.

Sanctuary at Grand Memories Santa Maria: Not bad... could be Great

We stayed at Sanctuary from April 2-9. Overall the stay was pretty good but with a few improvements it could have been great. The staff and the service they offer is probably the best we have received anywhere. Special to mention Orbee and Nayla who took such great care of us at the breakfast and lunch buffet, Carlos and Ray at the pool bar and Claudia and Glendy our butlers on the top floor of in building 60. Kitchen staff pretty accommodating, one day my wife was looking for french fries and none was available until she asked and within 10 minutes she was presented with a plate of fresh cooked hot fries.. that’s service For dinner we ate at the la cartes and 2 out of the 4 were pretty good. Would recommend the Mediterranean and the Grand Memories Italian but would stay away from the Mexican and the Sanctuary Italian. The one complaint about all the la carts was that none served coffee/tea after dinner, designed Im sure to get the people out the door Couple of other things that could be done to improve the resort would be a badly need update to the rooms. Our bed, sheets, pillows were ok but a paint job, tub/tile caulking and some furniture replaced would have greatly enhanced the experience and if it was done Im sure the resort could charge more and people would pay for it. The other complain we had was that about 90% of the lounge chairs that are around the pool are being “reserved” the night before and in some cases if people were lucky and get the shade chairs they would keep personal items on them 24 hrs

Sol Turquesa Beach: Somewhat disappointed

My first impression of the resort was that it looked a bit dated. The lobby was clean and looked comfortable. Check in went smoothly and we were taken to our room. The room smelled musty and the bell boy turned on the air conditioning and helped expained things to us. We then changed so we could get to the buffet for lunch then hit the pool. We then asked to be moved to another room and then ended up walking to the lobby. After waiting over half an hour we finally got to speak to Marcos the customer service manager who managed to get us into another room. We thought that everything was good to go. We got ready and went to dinner. When we went back to our room, the key card did not work. We had to walk back to the lobby and get our cards re- progamed. We got a ride back to the room and had the driver wait to see if we were able to get in. It still did not work. We then had to wait for a technician to come and help. Marcos was great and had a bottle of champagne sent to our room. The rest of the week went pretty smoothly. The food was ok, got a bit repetitive but we made the most of it. The weather was great and we were having a good time. On the last day after spending the afternoon at the pool, we went back to the room and the key card did not work. We managed to find someone to call the front desk for us. After waiting a while, my husband walked back to the lobby. By the time he got back and we got in our room it was over an hour. I was very upset as this was our last night and we hoped to go to the beach and watch the sunset. We talked to many other people who also had this problem. I love Cuba but I wouldn't go back to the Memories Holguin

Sol Turquesa Beach: Great vacation- Food, not so much

We stayed at memories April 1 to 8 and we were a group of 5 ladies. The resort was nice and grounds were very well kept but it’s huge! If you have mobility issues this isn’t the resort for you at all! As the days went on, we were able to find a few short cuts through the property but their were carts to drive you around if you needed or wanted them too. We always had hot water and great water pressure in the shower and the toilets worked just fine. Our housekeeper-Madeline was terrific, and most of the hotel staff were great. There was one male bartender at the lobby bar who wasn’t too friendly but everyone else was super. I have traveled to Cuba many many times and this resort was by far the worst food I have had in Cuba! When you travel to Cuba you don’t go for the food but this was very different from my other 8-10 visits to the area. Yes you could usually find something to eat, but it was usually questionable lol the donuts were great and breakfast had eggs so that was a positive. We had our best meals on a day trip we took to Guardalavaca on the boulevard. We spent the day at the beautiful beach there and ate the pizza for lunch and then had a bbq place for dinner. Was 100% amazing and very cost efficient! Because we were guests on this public beach they did charge us 1 paso per beach chair. I think this was just the lifeguard making a few bucks but it was worth it. All in all we had a great vacation, our agent Angela at tripcentral always takes care of us! I am not sure we would go back to this resort..... Unless the price was right of course. Departing from Toronto I would say $800 a person or less and it is worth the trip. Anything higher then that isn’t worth it. The club amigo Guardalavaca was a much better option in my opinion when I stayed there last year.

Sanctuary at Grand Memories Varadero: Went to Grand Memories - Santa Maria

Everything was as expected, beautiful beach - mediocre food. The only real complaint is the not clean washroom & really bad smell in the washroom area in the main restaurant. Pretty sure no one really wants that job but it gets a lot of use and it ended up we would go up to our room to use the washroom. The staff are fantastic, really friendly & nice. Absolutely lovely.

Memories Trinidad Del Mar: Best Vacation Ever

Large rooms, clean, hot water, good water pressure, awesome pool, manicured grounds and great food to suit every taste. Management & staff are the best!! Any issues are addressed immediately and they sure make it possible to enjoy a wonderful Cuban experience. Lots of places to visit either on excursions /or double decker bus (5 pesos all day pass) We met many other tourists on the resort & it was agreed that this resort is by far the best in the area!!
