Royalton Riviera Cancun Resort and Spa: Stunning Resort
upon arriving we were greeted by a stunning Main lobby overseeing the central area of the resort and beach. We were shown the different areas of the resort by a representative which I thought was a nice idea until at the end of our little tour we were given a sales speech on timeshares. After being up early and travelling with two young children that was the last thing I needed to deal with. I had to adamantly put a stop to the pitch so we could get to our room and rest. The room was immacul[... read more]ate and quite comfortable. The shower was nice and roomy. The only issue with the room is there isn't enough drawer space for a family of 4. There were only 4 drawers. A nice sized tv with enough channels for myself and the kids. The kids pools were great to keep them occupied and entertained. All the adult pools were excellent as well. The beach was great with the only issue being the constant washing ashore of the sea weed and sea grass. They did what they could to eliminate that but just dumped it slightly further down the beach. a lot of garbage washed ashore as well and was mixed in with the dumpings and really should of been just trucked off the site completely as it was compounding the issue. We ate at all the restaurants except the Japanese. (kids refused..lol ) All had great service and food to enjoy. The Buffet is also well stocked and enough staff to keep it nice that you didn't have to wait long for any customized meal.

Royalton Riviera Cancun Resort and Spa: Beautiful resort
The resort itself was breath taking, food was amazing. The entertainment was good and had lots of variety. Only this that wasn't great was long wait times for restaurants. And there was a lot of little babies.

Every thing was impeccable, New resort and still under construction but very well managed and seamless operations while ongoing , so no disturbances.

the Staff, The restaurants, The buffet, the service is all above par to any resort I have ever been at.

Royalton Riviera Cancun Resort and Spa: Great splash pool
We stayed in a 1 bedroom suite which was great. It was cleaned well everyday. The food was good & plentiful, the staff were really friendly & attentive. The splash pool for the kids was great, they loved it. The only negative was the kids club. They had arranged activities but no toys so my kids went to get their face painted and had to sit for an hour for their turn. ( I had to stay as the kids have to be over 4)They should really have toys to amuse the kids. They went to another activity which[... read more] was arts & crafts. They just spent 15 mins doing that and then they just put on the tv for them which was disappointing. The hotel is only 20 mins from the airport so the location is great. We would go again mainly for the splash pool as it had numerous slides to keep the kids entertained.

Royalton Hideaway Saint Lucia: Getting There !
We were among the first group of guests to arrive on February 18th. The greeting was very warm, staff waiting at the coach with hot towels and rum punch. However they were not very organized regarding the Hideaway guests, we waited until all the Royalton guests were organized before we were taken to the Hideaway. Check in was very slow as they were having computer glitches, but nothing awful. On the way to our room the elevator broke down which was concerning, so we simply didn' t use it for th[... read more]e remainder of the stay. The main elevator didn' t work for our whole stay.
The room was absolutely stunning, with a lovely balcony. Very quiet air conditioning. Over the course of the week things such as glasses were gradually added, however anything we asked for was brought quickly.
Housekeeping staff were excellent. The phone jack was behind the headboard, so it had to be removed in order to hook up the phone, we found this quite amusing! On the first two mornings we were woken up early by workers, hammering and building, but someone must have complained as this stopped.
The food in the restaurants was delicious, the only food concern was that the food in the buffet under the lamps was cold. The service in most of them was extremely slow. one evening in the Mexican restaurant I had completed my main course and my husbands meal hadn't arrived. We left and went to the sports bar, where the service was always very good. A couple of nights later we tried again, this time all went well for us. however many others walked out due to the slow service. The bar service everywhere was excellent, on the first night my husband asked for Courviossier and the next night it was there, great service.
The pools and beach were great, we are beach people so spent our days there. Excellent swimming, nice and deep. I would be concerned once the report is up and running about the space for everyone.
During our stay there seemed to be no differentiation between the Royalton and Hideaway guests, everyone could go everywhere this didn' t matter during our stay as the resort was quiet. But I would have concerns if it was full, as we paid for an adult only resort and would expect exactly that.
Overall it was a wonderful week, the staff were so friendly and helpful. The island is beautiful, perhaps they should have advised the first guests that they weren't quite ready, we would have then been informed.

Royalton Riviera Cancun Resort and Spa: The BEST trip!! Amazing resort
This a is great resort. This was our ninth trip to Cuba and by far the best. Great staff, grounds, beach, pools, and entertainment. The only challenge we had was the a la carte food variety. The bus ride was a little long 90 plus minutes but once there you see why it is worth it.It was very quiet at this resort and had no issues with night noise. We were in building 4 which is pretty much central with easy access to everything

Royalton Riviera Cancun Resort and Spa: Royalton Riviera Cancun Mexico
The resort and staff were amazing. There were a couple of glitches. My daughter and I got only one bed upon check in but we were moved the next day. And the room we did get was an adjoining room so we could hear into our neighbours room especially when they were having arguments. They happen to have an argument at 3 am in the morning so I called the operator and someone was dispatched immediately to solve the problem. other than that it was a beautiful resort and we enjoyed our stay. Royalton Cayo Santa Maria: First Impressions Count
As soon as our bus approached the hotel you could hear everyone on the transfer bus saying "Wow this hotel looks so beautiful, we tried to get in and it was fully booked, no wonder!"
As we entered the open air lobby we were amazed by the backlit alabaster seating area, the smell of fresh flowers and the friendly reception we received. Check in was fast and very efficient. We did a quick tour of the grounds . It was jaw dropping beauty, the 2 infinity pools, the landscape lighting and the spect[... read more]acular lush gardens.
Shortly after arriving at our room our luggage arrived. The room was nice and quite large and very quiet. It was an ocean view room with a balcony .
The beach at this resort was the biggest and best we saw in the area.
The food was quite good , the variety offered was good and all our dinner reservations were booked for us by our two personal butlers. Most of the wait staff were very professional and provided us with excellent service.
Our maid, Dayami was such a joy and left us an assortment of towel sculpture every day. We looked forward to seeing her every day. The entire resort was very clean and well kept.
The beach was a pristine white beach with plenty of lounge chairs and umbrellas for shade. The water was crystal clear and nice and warm. This is the most beautiful beach we have been to in Cuba.
The entertainment staff were amazing. They led beach walks, stretching on the beach, games on the beach, dancing lessons and water fitness classes. The evening entertainment was something we looked forward to every evening in the lobby. The variety and high standard of entertainment was the very best we have experienced on any holiday we have ever taken and we have travelled a lot.
The gardens are spectacular and hats off to the entire team of gardeners who keep this resort so spectacular. I speak Spanish and they even answered gardening questions I asked.
This is a very well managed resort. It has made a lasting impression on us and we look forward to returning. We would definitely recommend this resort.
Our only complaint was the Sunwing flight being delayed and the poor quality of food offered, and the cramped seating on board.

Royalton Riviera Cancun Resort and Spa: Ultimate family vacation
We absolutely loved the royalton cancun!! We went with 4 adults and two toddlers in mid February. The food was delicious and they had a variety of foods every day. The à la cart restaurants opened early enough for our family making the experience easier. We really enjoyed the steakhouse and the Italian restaurant. The pools were warm and we never felt over crowded even with the resort at full capacity.
Our room overlooked the kids pool and the ocean so we found it fairly quiet. The room itsel[... read more]f was quite spacious and we really enjoyed the rain shower. Room service is available 24 hours and can be ordered through your smart tv. We also loved the free wifi that was included.

Royalton Riviera Cancun Resort and Spa: Great Service
This resort had all the amenities you could ask for. It's like they found out what stresses people out while at a resort and they eliminated them. Unlimited beach towels, not monitored.
One lady said "there's no towel drama".
We ate at the Hunter steak house 4 times, no problem. The buffet was great especially breakfast, I can't think of a thing they could have added to the menu. I went to the gym a few times and the equipment was fantastic.
We would recommend this resort to our friends.....[... read more].
The beach service was wonderful and always lots of choices for seating and sun/shade options.
The only complaint would be the water ( can't be rectified by the resort). The water was murky on 6 out of 7 days. So don't expect the picture postcard waters of other carribean destinations.
There was also garbage floating in the water....not sure if it came from the immediate area or carried from the deep ocean...but I found that very disconcerting, and have to say I have never encountered this at any other destination, at home or abroad.

Royalton Hideaway Riviera Cancun: Great vacation
As for the food it was more then our expectation. Very clean, preety and modern resort. Pool and see ice 10/10. Beach lovers avoid the whole Riviera maya area. I highly recommend.
One thing to improve would be the communication for the activities for hideaway.
Also the butlers should be there to guide not only to try to sell time-sharing

Royalton Riviera Cancun Resort and Spa: Beautiful Property
I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at the Royalton. The property, food and views were great, however, the staff was out of this world. From the wait staff at the buffet/restaurants, the cleaning staff to our friends at the bar, so many genuine smiles and assistance was provided. I would highly recommend the property solely on those tending to your needs.
Food was great, drinks were plentiful, the pools were excellent and the entertainment was great. I will definitely be returning to this property.

Royalton Cayo Santa Maria: FIRST RATE TREATMENT
Having never been to Cuba before it was suggested we stay at the Royalton for best food and treatment.
We were not disappointed.
Upon arrival we were met with open arms and ushered into the lounge, no standing in line in a lobby waiting to check in. Handed a glass of champagne and introduced to our butler Lester. He was fantastic, our other butler was Diana, she went above and beyond to accommodate us. We aren't fussy people but we broke a bottle in our room and within 2 minutes of us calling [... read more]her, she showed up with a new bottle of wine (Cold) and the cleaning crew was minutes behind her. Not 5 minutes and they were out of there, floor was dry and you would never know it had happened.
Our chamber maids were Alina and Yuliet, and I was so thrilled to see what towel art they had for us each day or what they had done to the sheers, made our room special every day, well one day they were off and we could certainly notice they weren't the ones to take care of the room. Those two are a great team. We did spoil them with gifts.
The rooms were larger than we are used to, wider, very clean, no complaints at all. Lots of closet and drawer space.
The bartenders in the main lobby bar were fabulous, shout of especially to Yahki and Umberto, we spoiled them too. High end liquor like i've never had at other 5 star resorts before. Very impressive.
We waited for NOTHING. While they have less than 125 rooms the resort still had 3 restaurants and plenty of food choices. Dinner was on the table in less than 5 to 10 minutes. My favourite server was Estudante who works in Eggcellence. Love the way they pour wine,
The Sunset grill was a great choice for lunch, right by the pool. The best spaghetti i've had in years and the Royalton burger was to die for, so big we could barely finish it,
If you like seafood, it's abundant, lobster, shrimp, octopus, you name it, everything is presented beautifully.
The Food and Beverage Manager Luis Rijo was amazing. We saw him everytime we went to eat, no matter what restaurant we went into, he was there, (I think he was following us), lol, this man did not stand around and watch his staff, he was right in there, serving wine, water, removing plates, seating guests etc. He treated his staff with lots of respect and I just loved him. Such an nice man.
All the staff right down to the gardeners were so nice, friendly, got lots of hug.
The entertainment staff at the lower pool, and i didnt' get all their names, Javier, awesome foot massages, the girls at the bar they are all so much fun.
I can't say when I've had such a great time.
The nightly entertainment was first class.
I know you want to know about the food, while we aren't a fan of spicy food we found it just to our liking. If you want more, just ask. It's cuba, they don't get what you can get at home, you are on vacation, go with it and relax.
Not a fan of the coffee in the rooms, more like an espresso so we didn't use it past the first day.
Ordered room service a couple times and it was FAST, like 15 minutes maybe.
The beach was gorgeous, wide white sand, a tad windy the week were there so we didn't spend much time on it, but we did walk down to other resorts and found them far below Royalton standards. Beat up some. The memories that you can eat at it you choose, was quite run down, too big and full of kids, so we stayed close to home.
The shopping bazaar next door was quite convenient and we found the vendors very nice and not pushy at all.
Took the bus tour into Santa Clara, all day trip, highly recommended. Learned so much about the Cuban culture and people, history. Visited a cigar factory, an old sugar cane factory, beautiful old church and two towns with markets. Had a great buffet lunch as well.
Would I go back, you bet. We met some really nice people.
if you are looking for a real swinging, drinking, partying time, you won't want to stay here.
It's more relaxed, laid back, but still you can get up to some shinanegans at pool in the afternoon.

Royalton Riviera Cancun Resort and Spa: Amazing resort
My husband and I went for the first time ever on a tropical vacation and we loved it. We are already talking about where to go next. The grounds were clean. We saw in building 9 on the 4 th floor where someone had left their tray by their door. That was disgusting but besides that it was great. The staff were perfect in every way. There was one special gentleman at the buffet his name was David... very attentive, carried our plates for us. Never have I had service like that. The food was good. T[... read more]he ones in the hallway for the timeshare stuff not so much. Would we go back? In a heartbeat.... thank you Royalton.
