Bahia Principe Explore Coba: Very relaxing Vacation

The hotel was very nice. Well maintained. Rooms were pretty clean. Beds and pillows need to be upgraded. Pools were great and clean also. Could use a washroom around the swim up bar. Good food thru the entire resort. The resort is huge, but the trolleys come frequently. Over all great resort. Very nice staff

Marina Fiesta Resort and Spa: Can't Wait to Return!

We just returned from Cabo - The Marina Fiesta is highly recommended !! beautiful location - right on the Marina - plenty to see and do ...tons of places to eat and shop and nightlife. The staff is Amazing, make sure you have a nightcap with Margareto (sp) the night bartender at the lobby bar. Such a great GUY!!! ..the pool waiter Christo was so attentive and was a pleasure to get to know. Luis was fast and always had a smile!! thanks again Marina Fiesta for such a wonderful holiday!

Iberostar Waves Cozumel: Our January Stay

Staff was great, food delicious with great evening entertainment. Only complaints were that there was no club, just a restaurant open late and the showers went from freezing to scolding hot. We had a great time overall.

Bahia Principe Explore Coba: Great resort

I enjoyed our stay and the Bahia Pricincioe Coba, the grounds were beautiful, the food was great Andrew the entertainment was wonderful. A wide variety of things to do for all ages. The trams run often, the pools are kept up.

Riu Emerald Bay: Great resort but not enough buffet!

This was our second time traveling there. We loved everything about this resort except we were not that happy with the food and buffet! Compare to other resorts that we've gone to, this big resort does not have enough eating area. I talked to several other people while there and everyone was saying the food quality has gone down since 3 years ago. Riu Emerald Bay: Nice resort but food isn't great

This is a nice resort in Mazatlan and we enjoyed our time there. The food was below the quality I would have expected. Towards the end of our stay, the only thing I would get on my plate is fries with ketchup. I'm not a picky eater at all but I found most everything to be either bland or too salty/sweet. Meat and seafood was overcooked beyond recognition. Worst of all, there was NO Mexican food at this resort. I found that ridiculous. I love Mexican food but I could not get a simple taco there.  [... read more]They have a so-called Mexican restaurant at the hotel, which server some bizarre concoction of Spanish/Western that I think any Mexican would laugh at. The cocktails were very good and the servers did try to make the best they could with the things they had. Overall the service was quite good with a few exception, especially with the reception staff, some of whom tend to be rude and dismissive if you complain about something, such as the premium paid internet not working properly. The beach was nice and very sandy, not rocky at all. That's a plus. Overall the resort was ok, but I would not recommend it to friends and family. Normally, when I come back from vacation, I feel nostalgic about the food I had access to. This time, I could not wait to get back to Canada and eat something that had some taste. Some of the people in our group had been to this hotel 2 years ago and confirmed that the food quality has gone down.

Iberostar Waves Cozumel: Such a great experience!

This is the second time at Iberostar Cozumel and we had an even better experience than the first. The grounds are lovely with vegetation and exotic birds. The staff is very welcoming and attentive. The food is delicious and fresh. This is diving heaven so if you are not into diving or snorkeling (or just swimming surrounded by fish) the swimming may not be to your liking. The pool is not heated so the water is cold (in January) and the beach is very rocky so entry in the ocean is off the dock.  [... read more] Lastly, the entertainment is very good - highlights are the Fire Show on Thursday and Beatles Tribute band on Monday.

Secrets Vallarta Bay: great food and service

Well run hotel. can be a wait for a table at the restaurants,but a bar nearby is a good place to wait. Like many hotels,it suffers from inconsiderate guests reserving deck chairs by the pool hours before they occupy them.

Grand Oasis Riviera: Won't Go Back

Did not meet our expectations. Washroom stunk like a sewer. Air conditioning only on and off - temperature adjustment and low, medium, high settings did not work. They served drinks in glass at the bar, resulting in broken glass around the pool deck. We reported this twice, and no one came to sweep it up. Beach chairs old and worn - sunk through and had the support beams in my back. Only good chairs were around the pool. Grand Sirenis Mayan Beach: Loved this hotel

We have been to Mayan Riviera 5 times and this is by far our favourite resort. The staff were friendly and helpful at all times. The grounds, rooms and restaurants were always clean and beautifully maintained. The pools & pool areas were always clean and bar service was excellent. Our family loved the lazy river and our time at the beach. We found it safe for everyone. Please remember water shoes as certain spots are a little rocky. Our children (6 and 8) really enjoyed their time there and we had absolute confidence in the staff to care for our grandchildren. My only complaint was I felt the food at the a la carte restaurant (Steak House and Brazilian) were disappointing compared to other hotels we have been to. The service was OK however we all felt very rushed through our meal. We did dine at the Japanese restaurant on our last night & I would recommend it. The chicken and beef were delicious and the chef put on a great show. All meals at the buffet restaurant were great and the service was prompt and courteous.

Grand Isla Navidad Resort: Mexico's Best Kept Secret!

If you are 40+ you can not beat this place....everything about this place is fabulous. Location, location, location. Staff and the food are amazing. Beautiful golf course, 27 holes. Very safe, and the value here is unbelievable. If you are looking for something that is relaxing and laid back this is a can't miss....This was our 7th time back to this resort...we can't get enough of everything about it

Las Brisas Huatulco: Great getaway

The hotel was fantastic. The staff were all very friendly and worked so hard. There was a conference while we were there and they completely transformed the theatre section - in one day! We weren't inconvenienced at all by it. As other reviews mention, the place is hilly. We walked 90% of the time, but the shuttle system is great too. What a beautiful location. Moon Palace Cancun: Second to none

We are just back from a 7 day stay at the Moon Palace in Cancun, and I must say I have never had service equal to what they provide in any other resort we have stayed at. And there have been many. The resort is large but they make it so easy for their guests to get to and from the other two palace resorts by way of bus or golf cart. I didn't golf but while my husband did I enjoyed a wonderful morning at the spa. Barcelo Maya Colonial: Can't beat the beach and pool area!

Our family (kids aged 6 & 7) travelled to Barceló Maya Colonial between Jan. 13-20, 2017. Overall, we loved the resort and would highly recommend it. First the positives, the beach and pool area were phenomenal. Beautiful white sand and expansive beach since you can walk the length of the 4 Barceló hotels which are side by side. Lots of wild life (giant grasshoppers, iguanas) and dolphins on the property, which the kids loved. Our boys also love Pokémon Go and there were a ton of Pokestops and gyms on the property. The kids waterpark was amazing - the one on the Colonial property had fantastic slides and was good for toddlers up to pre-teens. We used the kids club several times and the boys enjoyed going there. Nothing fancy - we wished that they would vary the schedule a bit. We really enjoyed the buffets and a la carte restaurants and thought the food was excellent. Although this is a huge resort and was booked to capacity, we never had trouble getting loungers at the pool or beach, even late morning. Restaurants seemed half empty and service was always very prompt and, for the most part, friendly. Our only complaint was that the room seemed musty and the beds weren't the firmest. We had a garden view, which looked upon some trees, shrubs and other buildings. There are no oceanfront rooms at Colonial. You can get these at Barcelo Palace next door. We tried to upgrade to Club Prime, which we hoped would get us a pool view and better beds but they were sold out. We had a great time travelling with Air Transat - if you have kids make sure you join the Kids Club prior to your trip. There is a dedicated check-in desk, plus your baggage gets tagged so it is removed from the plane first. Overall, a wonderful experience at the Barceló Maya Colonial.

Grand Palladium Vallarta: Family vacation

We had a great family vacation at this resort. We loved how geared to kids it was, and the kids loved the hotdog cart and popsicles by the pool! The salt water pool was nice for us although it was far from all the bars and food so we had to pack everything up that comes with two toddlers for meals. Staff were friendly and resort was well kept. Our stroller did not fit through our room door which was a hassle, coffee is no easily accessible if you are an early riser. Bar service was exceptionally slow even more so if you didn't tip. I often found myself waiting at the bar 15-20 min before getting to order and that was with pesos visibly in hand. Balconys are small especially 3rd floor ones. My inlaws were on the third floor and their balcony had one chair. And it hardly fit. Food was good, the buffet repeated itself nightly. In order to reserve alacartes they tell you to use the app which didn't work. So we'd wait in line to get a table. The small zoo was great entertainment for the kids as well as the splash park with pools ! Overall a great holiday as it is what you make it :)

Riu Flamingos: Beautiful beach

Enjoyed the beach either in the sun or under palm trees shade. Plenty of room to chose a spot on beach or by the pool. Good entertainment. Hotel grounds are well kept and refreshing touches can be seen on daily basis. Staff very friendly and helpful. The all inclusive has a good variety for every taste. The alla carte is good, interestingly open to all without reservations. Though Italian restaurant no espresso coffee available. The room was well kept including Mini bar. Excellent shower and hot [... read more] water. However, ventilation controls didn't allow for good nightly comfort. We Almost froze first night, and had to request a blanket. Required to turn off ac at night. Good mattress, but pillows uncomfortable. The towels at times had a bad moldy smell, soiled sticky glasses not replaced with clean ones. Besides some of these negative comments, we did enjoy our stay.

Grand Park Royal Cozumel: Awesome vacation in a superb resort

The hotel is well appointed with large clean rooms. The beach is small, but never overcrowded and with two infinity pools and hot tubs choices are available. There is also a main pool. A la carte restaurants offer a good choice and the buffet restaurant varies themes daily. Entertainment is provided in the main area as well as at the amphitheater. Service is exemplary at all times, and tipping is optional without penalty. The resort is lush with tropical greenery and several bars and bistro [... read more]s keep you well fed and watered. Free wifi is provided. All in all a good 4.5 star that checks all the boxes.

Canto Del Sol: Very relaxing vacation

If you are looking for a great beach this place may not be right for you. The resort is older but very clean and has a friendly, fun atmosphere. We found the food to be great, the omelettes in the morning were very good and the variety at the buffet was adequate. The walk into downtown is approx. 30 minutes, we found it to be quite worth it, just to look around a little. Paradisus Playa del Carmen: No need to go anywhere else.

This resort was more than we ever expected. There was nothing you needed as it was all there. The cleanliness was unbelievable; from repainting literally everything to sweeping, table service, wiping everything down, washing all glass every day; this resort looked brand new. The rooms were beautiful and the air conditioning worked perfectly. Rooms are very large and quiet st night. Food was outstanding and the people that work there speak English very well. Barcelo Karmina: Absolutely Amazing!

We stayed at the Barcelò Karmina from January 13th to the 20th. My parents had previously stayed there and highly recommended it. We will forever be grateful that they did. The property is absolutely STUNNING, and it is kept in pristine condition. Our room was so spacious, well-appointed, and comfortable. Kudos to the housekeeping staff who meticulously kept our living space so lovely. We LOVED the food at the buffet restaurant. If you go, DO NOT MISS this incredible experience! We also really enjoyed the beach bar every day, which was consistently overflowing with delicious treats. The pool area was our favourite of any resort we have visited. Again, it is so beautifully maintained and designed. The beach at Karmina is very small, which might be a deterrent for those who love an expansive stretch of sand and surf. We really loved it, however, as the water was warm and perfect for snorkelling. We really enjoyed the nightly entertainment, and the performers were so charismatic and engaging. The dancers were superb, and the male singer featured on most nights was SUPERB - what a talent! Our 16-year-old son loved playing beach soccer and volleyball each day, and we all enjoyed kayaking around the bay. Our very favourite thing about the Barcelò Karmina was the staff. Every single employee was friendly, hardworking, kind, generous, patient, and professional. I think we fell in love with every single one of them. They worked tirelessly and genuinely appeared to love and value their jobs. We will forever treasure them for making our holiday so perfect. Thank you, Barcelò Karmina! WE LOVE YOU AND CANNOT WAIT TO RETURN!!! P.S. There is no free wifi, which seemed to upset some people.
