Grand Sirenis Matlali Hills: Wonderful trip

While there were a few small hiccups (our coffee pot leaked the first night, slow room service on the first night), over all we had a fantastic time at this resort. The grounds are stunning, the staff was wonderful and the food was good.

Iberostar Waves Cozumel: Very Nice

It was smaller then we expected and had a Jungle Theme, lots of trees. On hot days it was always comfortable in the "room" areas. The people that worked there were very kind and helpful. We enjoyed speaking with many of them. We felt very comfortable being able to walk outside the compound which we did a number of times. Actually I believe this place had probably the best entertainment of the places we have been or certainly right there on top with the best. The one down fall was that the water had a lot of rock in it and we could not swim in it. If we went on the pier where the fish were we could climb down the stairs and enter the water that way which we did. So if you don't mind a small place and rocks in the water it is a nice place to go. Snorkeling is great and lots of people went scuba diving.

Riu Palace Cabo San Lucas: Top notch!

A great hotel and great location. The service was impeccable and so was the food. Lobster served several times during our stay. Amazing for an all inclusive resort. This was our second exposure the the Rui Offerings but won't be our last.

Azul Ixtapa Grand Resort: Excellent Resort

This hotel was by far one of the best (if not the best) hotel we have stayed in Mexico,all inclusive hotels. The only negative was that the beach was too small and not very sandy. Also, not any interesting sight seeing in close proximity.

My Experience. First before I tell the cons which are many . Ill start with the pros- The hotel is right by the beach- ocean. The view is wonderful. I'd say the best rooms are the Penthouse. The resort was at the end of the strip so there wasn't to many Locals around( con- I don't trust the fact that locals can just come around) usually the resorts I stay at are gaurded. I ate mainly at Mexican restaurant an French for dinner . I didn't eat any sides on any hot tables Only boiled beets and requested mashed potatoes. French restaurant was very good. They boiled the Solomon before grilling it. That to me is a waste . I requested it be grilled. All fruits I washed and cut myself. I don't drink. And the only water I drank was bottled even though everyone drank the distilled water from the jugs. Breakfast I had oatmeal or omelette and pastrys that came fresh. Coffee was amazing so was the view from the buffet which is where we ate breakfast. I was terrible food poisoned which is why I was cautious to what I ate. Before I got sick, I had roasted pork a small portion from the buffet. It was good and I was fine. I ate fish prepared in front of me. This to me is a 4 star maybe. If you stick to these foods I listed. I was there for 9 days. The room even though was a penthouse was nice but as you read not kept . Apparently the hotel is 25 years old. And up until 1.5 years they only had one restaurant. All the other hotels along the strip had tons tons of locals, and so many people looking like a party. Secrets , bhaia and so on. We liked tower 3 because in front of us there we're lots of rocks and unable to swim. We spent a lot of time together on our private terrace looking into the ocean. Not an obstructed view and we are convinced that's why it was quiter, and no locals. Because of the rocks and the inability to just come out and swim. The ones that made it to us we're nicer looking little families .my concern is safety . I also am not a party person. But my fiancée was totally appauled of the selection of food. He felt limited . I agree. I spoke Spanish this helped. The best service was at the Mexican restaurant and French. Holi was so very sweet at the Mexican restaurant. Really set a great 5 star ton. We loved the guacamole. There was also an older gentlemen at the buffet that seemed to show the others how to conduct themselves, as they seemed unserviceable. We were able to see beautful fish just snorkelling outside And a big turtle eating . Ocean was magical. Now for the country cons! When we arrived at the hotel. They claimed they had zero knowledge that I requested the 3rd tower. They want d to put us in the 1st which was by the pool. If you like little action then that's the tower. We like peace and quiet. The room was not cleaned. The jacuzzi tub was filled with hairs. Small curly hair- I believe it was pubic hair Not bugs or flys or a long hair. The slippers they tried to give us were used!!!! Not in the plastic.The bed was broken , the corner by the head rest the foot was very loose. The umbrella outside was broken. The sliding doors to outside didn't close properly. So outside air was always whistling in. And there where stains on the couch and side of the bed. I wanted to cry!!! I had just been proposed to. This was supposed to Be romantic . I asked for the manger to come up, as I already called for a repair man and a cleaning lady to please come up with products and bleach. He came to fix the umbrella outside which was broken . He told me he fixed the jacuzzi also. I explained it was filthy I asked both in Spanish and English for a cleaner to come. She never came so I asked the manger to come up! . Zenia came and was shocked at the room. I explained how can they allow this, I explained if they brought me bleach I can disinfect the tub. serious illness can arise from this and if they didn't understand this the first time around . They offered another room. But the other room the TV was the size of a small microwave. We didn't want to haul our stuff and were just sissapointes at this waste of time and what we got for the big bucks we spent. How could this be a 4 star. This was the lowest rating we we have ever gone to. We usually stay at the Hilton She said she will make sure the room is clean. We showed her the open door that will not close allowing air in. We turned on the Tv in our room . She realized if the volume went up a strong buzzing sound came out. When we came back the room was stocked with actually beach towels and slippers in plastic. Also the bed foot was repaired and they actually cleaned the room and give us unused everything ! They also put a tint on our screen, we felt it allowed too much light threw the bathroom which is all open concept , we didn't want to be woken up. As when we work we begin at 7:30 am- this is our vacation. We appreciate the tint. They also bought up chocolate covered strawberries . We felt this is how it should have been upon entrance- after all this was the penthouse suite! 3 days later I was food poisoned . It's was almost 11:00 am . I went to there 24 restaurant and asked for a burger to be grilled up. They said no they could not. It's still breakfast and pointed to the hot tables. I said I didn't want that food, please grill a burger as its a 24 hour restaurant and burger is on the menu. He said they didn't have, then he said ok. He went to the back and few moments came back w a pale burger. I cut it on the side. It was not cooked. I asked him to place this on the grill for longer . A second later he came out with a very dark grilled burger I asked if it was fresh? Bc it wasn't the one he gave me and I thought they said they didn't have any. He nodded said it was fresh! I had this and a juice. I got fruit cut up on the display tables. I got terribly sick. I had fevers chills and was in tears in convulsions throwing up and diarrhea. I was in so much pain. I wasn't able to eat anything for some days. Only rice , A few days later I woke up my body very very sore. I have s knot in my neck from the bed and the constant draft blowing in. We had cooler nights. I was thinking to get a massage for my very sore body. I called Sunday front desk and asked for tea, boiled water with lemon on the side and if they can bring Me fruits uncut. Like a fruits basket or even a Papaya or mango, plums. He said they could not.. I asked that they please do this I haven't eaten and I Can't eat food that has been handled or left out. I wanted to wash it myself. He said he wasn't able to, hours later no tea came . No hot water came . Nothing. I was so disappointed and so is my fiancée , we paid over $$$$$ in air plane seat upgrades, I didn't have the desire to spend more money even though my body was so beaten up from my sickness and the terrible bedding. I had an accident in the bed, because of the trauma my body endured, I was pushed into menstruation almost two weeks early !!!! I was very healthy. My body was not able to handle this constant vomiting . So I began to bleed. When we checked the bed we noticed faint stains, we wondered if they cleaned the sheets. They did they are so thin!!! The stains where from the terrible mattress liner that had not been changed. The sheets are practically see threw so the stains are still present. I am appalled! Further more, we arrived Monday . Tuesday I was there at 9;00 am as this is when I was supposed to meet Sunwing rep to let them know I DO need a ride to the airport. As this was our responsibility to do so, they were late . I waited and when I asked her about the tour to chichen Itza , that I was all amped up to see the night light show and take the all day excusion I had heard about ! The Sunwing rep said this hotel doesn't offer it . And the train was because the buses stop coming back at 5;00 pm and we would have to stay there overnight and get a room there. She advised we contact them ourselves. I realized then something was wrong with this hotel! It took four days to get a hold of another rep! They weren't on site ever!! On the Friday we were offered a trip to Coba and Talum with lunch for $88 U.S. From the tours on site The Sunwing nexus rep says they offer it for $145.00 with Nexus. We went with the other company. On another occasion I asked for hot water for tea and the man said no!! I said what!!!! Are you the man that didn't bring me my tea last time!!! He said ok we will send it up! Be warned. Yes the beach is lovely . But it wasn't worth what we spent. This is how we felt. Maybe if I wasn't so sick and the penthouse was clean and the doors closed and not let wind in , and I didn't hurt my neck with the draft. But it was slot if money for such a tight selection of everything .

Grand Sirenis Mayan Beach: Best resort we have been to.

Beautiful resort, great, attentive staff and excellent food. Our room was large, clean and comfortable for our family, 2 adults and 2 children. Many swimming options, pools, lazy river and beach. The main pool has a ramp entrance which is great for little kids. Beach is amazing and beautiful. There is a little area where you can see schools of fish! We used the kids club a few times, our children lived it there is a reading pool where the children are supervised, crafts and other activities [... read more]. They also take the kids for lunch, ice cream, dolphin show etc. Buffets were great, excellent theme nights the steak house was disappointing, Brazilian was ok and Japanese was excellent. This is a large resort with lots of walking, I didn't mind but my husband did. There are shuttles you can catch to cut down on the walk. We did the afternoon bike tour which is a must. You learn so much about the resort, it has 2 cenotes. An easy ride and very interesting.

Azul Ixtapa Grand Resort: Azul Grand Ixtapa

Spacious rooms, clean and beautiful views. Good sized balcony , walk in closet. Maid service daily with special floral effects on the bed. All staff friendly and helpful. A la Carte restaurants were fabulous and buffet adequate as you can find something you will enjoy as everything is prepared well. Nightly live entertainment in the lobby bar and dinner shows and fiesta for those who enjoy this type of entertainment.

Hyatt Ziva Los Cabos: Immaculate and Incredible!

The Hyatt Ziva is a world class resort! The property is beautiful and well taken care of. Hats off to the unsong heroes behind the scenes which makes this happen. The staff were second to none! No matter what position they held it was clear they were genuinely proud to work there. An awesome combination of great food and outstanding service makes this resort a top tier choice. Breathless Riviera Cancun: It's all in the name "Breathless"

Fabulous resort and experience! The staff bent over backwards to accommodate us. Food, accommodations, pools, and service, first class. My only disappointment was the condition and lack of the beach space. Lastly, our representatives from Transat and Tripcentral were awesome!!!

Posada Real Ixtapa: Best place on the beach

This was my second stay at Posada Real.I was not disappointed.The hotel is small enough to be intimate.The staff are pleasant and helpful.The rooms are reasonably comfortable(I did not go to have a luxurious room,as I spend a lot of time on beach).The room attendants properly cleaned my room,every day.I really liked that the waiters remembered me from last year.Posada has a gorgeous pool,with the widest part of the beach.I'll be back next year!

Barcelo Maya Colonial: Fantastic resort!

Very clean and well kept resort. Staff is very friendly and all are ready to help. Food was fantastic and we were there for a wedding and everything went smooth. The only complaint was the check in/out was very slow.

Secrets Huatulco: Secrets Huatulco well worth it!

We were very impressed with this resort. It is truly a 5 star experience. The resort itself, grounds, pool, restaurants and beach, all top notch. The alacarte specialty restaurants especially personified a fine dining gourmet experience. The staff throughout the resort were all very friendly and committed to our every need! Special mention goes out to Feliciano at the Mexican restaurant, Alma and Enrique at Castaways were fantastic and the manager Roberto was front and centre with the gues [... read more]ts and staff making sure everything ran smoothly and we wanted for nothing. Salvador at the Barefoot Grill was so sweet and efficient, always a big smile. We spent a lot of time on the beach and the most amazing young service staff person was Mardeli, who remembered our name, our drinks and was the most happy and hard working person I have ever met. She even had our drinks ready for when we got out of the ocean and we had not even ordered them yet! Very impressive. And everyone hustled, the service around the pools and on the beach was awesome. Francisco was a busy man at activities, including leading aqua-fitness classes and MCg the evening entertainment. He was very animated and passionate and professional and fun. Here are a couple of tips that we learned along the way, which you may or may not have read in other reviews- -Bottles of water are often not available around the pool or on the beach until late morning so bring a bottle from your room first thing. Later you can request a bottle of water and cup of ice from the beach wait staff. -You do not need water shoes to swim in the ocean here, beautiful sandy bottom, no rocks whatsoever, clear clean and warm water! However the sand on the beach gets very hot around 11-3:30pm, you should bring something to wear on your feet when walking on the beach to protect your feet. -great swimming, a little rough sometimes, but we went in even when it was red flagged, but we were careful. If you walk around the cove to the left, there is a more sheltered area with calmer water if you prefer. -there is coffee 'to go' set up at the Barefoot Grill around 6 - 6:30 am and outside the buffet. But don't forget Coco Cafe, just off the lobby, open 24/7 - all kinds of coffee, tea and bakery type snacks. -speaking of coffee - although not in any menu in any restaurant, if you want espresso or cappuccino just ask for it, even in the buffet. The Mexican restaurant did a wonderfully impressive display of making Spanish coffee at our table, pouring firey liquid and all - again not on the menu, just ask. -unlimited use of beach towels, which were plentiful and you don't have to do any silly signing them in and out. -alacarte restaurants do not require reservations and you may visit them as often as you like during your stay. We usually went for dinner around 7:30-8:00pm and always immediately had a table. -tipping is common here, and should be done - staff make minimal wages and rely on tips. There is an ABM machine just off the lobby and the front desk can exchange large bills for smaller denominations of pesos for tipping. Pesos and $1 US bills were most commonly used for tipping. They can also exchange Canadian or US for pesos at the front desk, just bring your passport. -we used room service for breakfast twice. Food came within 20 or 30 minutes. Big thermos of hot coffee, easily 3 cups for both of us. You don't have to stay strictly to the menu either. One day all we wanted was coffee and two toasted bagels with cream cheese - no problem. - I liked that improvements were occurring in areas I had read in other reviews that were an issue - one evening, we saw a whole supply of new lounge chairs arrive for around one of the pools. About 7:30pm each evening for about 4 nights in a row, an area of the beach was cordoned off, work lights set up and a whole bank of new palapa structures were being installed for more shade options on the beach, worked a few hours each night, we never heard any disturbing noises - it was done by the time we left - nice. - there is plenty of shade to be found around the pools and lots of chairs. Plenty of umbrellas - if you found the perfect spot but not enough shade? Just ask and an umbrella will likely be found and set up for you. I noticed that the swim-up room patios each had two lounge chairs and two chairs/little table. Also, there was an umbrella outside each patio for shade - plus wait service too! -one fellow told me that he went fishing on one of the boats/guides you can hire for a fee and his catch was brought to the concierge who arranged for the Oceana restaurant to cook it for their dinner that night. They cooked it exactly how he asked them to and it was served at the appointed time that evening. Cool. -we took a taxi to the airport when returning rather than take the Sunwing bus. We were able to stay an hour later which gave us time to have lunch. Taxi cost 300.00 pesos, which is about $15, not including tip. Also, we arrived at the airport 2 hrs and 10 minutes before the flight was scheduled to leave (instead of 3 hours and 10 minutes before the flight if we took Sunwing bus) so we missed the lineups to check our bags, too! Also, spending one hour less at the airport and longer at the resort was great. The weather in Huatulco the week of January 10-17, 2017 was sunny and 31c every single day. Reliably warm weather, little chance of rain is a big reason to come here - we don't need to spend a day or two in our room because of rain or cold weather - our vacation is too precious to put up with that. Huatulco guarantees us northerners the weather we crave. A beautiful corner of the world, I hope to come back some day.

the people are great the rooms clean and nice buffett great no beach to speak of at all if u like to walk the beach don't go there great pool though also circle one people hound you so be prepared and then they don't honour the spa coupons and charged the room bit of a scam

Grand Palladium Kantenah: Good Resort

We thought the resort was good and we would recommend it. The food was average and the language barrier was the worse we have had then in the past at other resorts in Mexico. The Kantenah and Colonial sections were the best for our family. The beach was very rocky except for a small patch near the Kantenah which worked out great for us. The water park was great and loved how it was right beside the pool so we didn't have to hangout at the water park the whole time. It was a huge rip off and the people you have to buy from are not the most friendly. It felt like more a scam then an enjoyable experience like the last two years in Mexico. Very long check in process and not the most friendly when you needed help or questions answered at the front desk. Room was great and very spacious. All in all we would recommend this hotel the pros outweighed the cons.

Ocean Coral Riviera Cancun: Excellent resort!

We came to this hotel two years ago and were very impressed then and was no disappointment this time around. The rooms, meals and service were excellent. Would recommend it to anyone. Ocean10 are the best!

Perfect location! Clean rooms, great service at the beach club ( go early to get an umbrella) friendly staff. Book excursions on site with your onsite SunWing representative. A nice selection of food options.

Secrets Aura Cozumel: Great Gateway

We both love this resort, the service was great, everyone we're glad to help or serve you the best they could. For our first time to Secret Aura we were so please. Iberostar Waves Cozumel: Loved the place

Everything was well keped on the grounds. The birds were well looked after as well as the cats the food was excellent and lots the entertainment was great as they got the audience involved the only thing that disappointed me was our bed it was a double and we were expecting a king but we didnt spend that much time in our room anyway o yes thy even had an umbrella in the room
