Sunset Plaza Beach Resort & Spa: Sunset Plaza always a fabulous time!!!

Sunset plaza is our favourite resort, we go there every year with our friends. Staff are friendly and extremely helpful. This is a resort you go to relax and feel safe. Food is well above average, and they serve premium liquor for those that care to imbibe.

The Pyramid Cancun: Disappointed

The resort grounds were nicely kept. It was very noisy staying right at the pyramid. During the day they were practicing for the show for the evening. In the evening it was very loud when the show was going on and during the night you heard the party people, it echoed everywhere. There was not one quite place to a have a drink. Loud music every where, so this resort is for party people. The pool was too cold to go in, what a shame not to be able to enjoy it during our stay. Hard to get in because you couldn't make reservations. Long waits, the other option was the buffet. Ugh. By the 3rd day of our stay we didn't know where or what to eat. The rooms were clean but the bathrooms were in dire strait of repairs. The bathtubs have been painted several times, you wouldn't want to sit in there. There was always water sitting in the hallway. The staff was not overly friendly. This holiday really not enjoyable for us. Like i said its a party place for younger adult. The focus for this resort was the night life and entertainment

Secrets The Vine Cancun: Amazing Resort

This resort surpassed our expectations. The entire property is kept very clean with a warm and welcoming atmosphere. The staff in all departments are friendly and accommodating, always asking if there is anything further they can do to make your stay more enjoyable. The food was top quality and we enjoyed the fact that the Marche cafe was an a la carte menu for dinner and not a buffet style. There was a nice variety of restaurants to choose from. The only negative would be that the lighting in the Asian restaurant was too dark to be able to read the menu. Although we did not participate in any activities the daily morning exercise at the beach and the noon swim arobics were well attended. The beach area was beautifully appointed and clean, and the staff constantly around to enquire if we required a drink or anything. Towels were easily acceptable and we enjoyed the fact that we did not have to sign in for a towel, but could take as many as we needed. Although our room was comfortable and clean, we did have problems working out the lighting panel.

Bahia Principe Explore Akumal: Really nice, not worth luxury upgrade

We stayed at the Grand Bahia on the Luxury side from Jan 7-14, 2017. It's a gorgeous resort with lots of amenities and restaurants to choose from. The resort is fairly large and does have a trolley to take you to Tulum or Coba - I didn't visit the Coba side so I can't comment on that, but Tulum was really nice and had the best variety for restaurants. I felt like the extra $300-400 we spent to stay on the Lux side didn't have many benefits other than having access to the entire resort and a rope [... read more]d off private beach section and private pool area's... we found beach space no problem so I didn't feel like it was much of a benefit, and the pools always felt a bit "dead". The adult only portion was really nice for those travelling without kids, there's a nice infinity pool and a breakfast and lunch buffet close by. We used the snack bar a lot at night to hang out with others we travelled with since there didn't seem to be anywhere to hang out at night other than Tulum. I believe there's an indoor lounge but we never made it there, preferring to be outside. Overall, a nice resort, but if I returned I would definitely stay on the Tulum side and save a few hundred.

Occidental Cozumel: Need work and better management should be able to help. Food is a whole different ball game.

Grounds, lovely, evening entertainment, none really. Bar with cappuccino machine for morning coffee not open until 11:00am...UGH Fridge in room needs to be filled with a bit more than 3 water and 3 beer...REALLY. We are not children. Many employees, not all, are not in holiday mode and if nothing else should smile. Reserving tables... when we are the first to arrive at a booked restaurant and are told a table is reserved and we can't have it, reserved, really...that is bulls..t. Riu Flamingos: Very nice resort !

We enjoyed our stay there in the second week of January . Rooms are clean and the beach is great. Food is good too. We had wifi but it is only accessible in the public areas. One had to pay extra if you want one in your room. Rates vary depending on how long you want it (1, 3 days). One can go to Puerto Vallarta proper by taxi and in our case by bus (a lot cheaper) which you can catch at a corner just outside the hotel. We went to Malecon - a tourist spot in P. Iberostar Waves Tucan: Beautiful resort!

It was a wonderful experience to be able to walk from our private suite through the lit jungle paths and onto the beach, pools or straight to food and bars. Many activities to enjoy throughout the week at the resort alone! Staff were always making sure we were taken care of example; if there were crumbs or condensation from our cool glasses, someone would come and clean it as we were sitting at a table. Buffet was good but we most enjoyed the Japanese and steak house restaurants while we were there! Overall, this resort up was great and we would definitely like to return someday!

Grand Sunset Princess: very nice resort

the staff were very friendly room were very clean lots of walking food was good the beach was nice but it was very windy so the life guard would not let people go in the water at the beach on red flags pool chairs were hart to get some times

Riu Emerald Bay: Amazing trip!!!!

Such an amazing vacation. The hotel was clean. the service was amazing. the staff was amazing. the hotel isn't to big so you don't need to walk far for anything! good drinks! will definitely be going back

Blue Bay Grand Esmeralda: Great Value

Grounds were awesome, pool and beach were very good, rooms were clean and stocked. Staff were always accommodating and helpful. Food was good with lots of different choice. The only complaint was the noise late at night and no one from the resort to police the offenders.

Riu Cancun: Superb

The Riu Cancun was fantastic. The staff were so much fun, we didn't leave the resort at all and we were never bored. The food in the buffet was pretty amazing. Great selection (and I'm a picky eater) and always fresh. The a la cartes weren't anything to write home about but they were still good. The evening shows were also really entertaining. Rooms were clean and modern. I would definitely stay here again.

Riu Emerald Bay: Great resort!!

The hotel was a bit dated but very well maintained and very clean. The grounds were well manicured and beach was great. All the staff very friendly and helpful. The restaurants were closed a few nights and weren't true a'lacarte (still buffet style) The main buffet and Italian buffet were excellent!! Great variety! Would definitely rebook and recommend.

Bahia Principe Explore Tulum: Amazing- even under pressure!

Our stay here was fantastic- food was amazing with a ton of variety to suit anyone's needs. Our room was well maintained. I was traveling with my son and it was our very first time away, and goi g to any all inclusive- so I didn't know what to expect. The price that speaks volumes to me, was unfortunately during our stay there was a fire on the resort- which is frightening. Everyone was safe, and the next day the resort ran completely unaffected by the fire. You wouldn't have even known there  [... read more]had been such a crazy event. Amazing staff, great food, ability to function under pressure!

Grand Oasis Cancun: Alright resort

Room extremely unsoundproof. Lots of extra costs. Good dining. Nice pools. Amazing beach. Lots of the excursions were unavailable. The food itself wasn't very good. The view was beautiful. People were nice.

The resort is very big and very nice! Got lost there a lot with how big it is. Everything was really good, including the food, drinks, scenery, beach etc. The only thing I would change is to have friendlier staff (as most were rude) to make the experience more cultural and fun! whenever I go other places down south I always find there to be so much culture and genuinity, however here I felt it very Americanized. Also, we booked an excursion through the resort and were lied to about what we would [... read more] actually get with the excursion. That was a little bit disappointing as my boyfriend and I aren't hard people to please, and would've still gone had we had the true facts about what we would get with the excursion (example: instead of "unlimited buffet" we had one free meal a person. And instead of "unlimited drinks" we had one drink a person. And instead of "free snorkelling" and "free swimming with dolphins" and "free everything else", we had to pay for just about everything. Other than that, the resort is pretty nice and the food was great. And if you don't want to be bothered to buy drugs every few minutes, don't buy items from the guys selling on the beach selling "cigars, bracelets, sunglasses etc".

Ocean Coral Riviera Cancun: Nice resort

Ocean Coral and Turquesa is a nice resort. Very well kept always cleaning or fixing something. Found the service a wee bit slow in the buffet area as far as coffee and water were concerned. We have travelled all over the Caribbean to several different resorts and this was the first 4.5 star all inclusive where there was an extra charge for lobster and certain cuts of steak. However the hotel itself and the staff were all very nice.

All Ritmo Cancun Resort And Waterpark: Mixed Emotions

Jan 2017 - Our first impressions of this hotel were not good upon arrival. The lobby is shabby and in need of updating but we didn't intend to spend a lot of time in the lobby anyway. Our initial room was a standard room and was road side which was noisy and the bathrooms were extremely small. We quickly requested to upgrade to an ocean front room and it was the best decision we made. We fell asleep every night listening to the sound of waves and could look out at the pool while the kids swa [... read more]m. The rooms were kept very clean although there were issues with the shower leaking to the floor resulting in puddles of water, an easily clogged toilet and an air conditioner that konked out if it was turned down to low. However, all of these things in our books were minor inconveniences. I did, however, feel sorry for the maintenance guys that have to keep this aging resort running. We found all of the staff very friendly and accommodating. Despite what some of the reviews had to say about the food, we have travelled to many resorts (3 stars to elegant 5 stars) and we found the food good here. There was always grilled meats and lots of grilled veggies to choose from. The omelet bar every morning and the crepe bar at lunch was a hit. The bartenders and variety of drinks was very good. The beach is small and the roped off area makes it even smaller for swimming. One of the highlights was the walking proximity to the Ferry to Isla Majueres (15 mins) and to the El Meca ruin. (10mins) You can also rent seadoos ($65 US/30mins) and go parasailing at a boat rental place 10 mins up the road. There is also a van service that can take you to the local bus station for the adventurous type who want to do their own exploring. If you are travelling with children, the smallness of this resort is a bonus. You will likely always know where your kids are. (even tho the waterpark is across the road with a tunnel connection to the resort) Also, the waterpark is getting old. The slides can leave scrapes on the kids backs. For the cheap price, this resort is fine. However, if you can afford a little more, I would suggest to go to a newer resort.

Bahia Principe Explore Coba: Very good

Service excellent guy in restaurant Antonio very nice get out his way to buy a tequila bottle outside the resort. Barbara the little girl in the bar make amazing tequila shots ask for the special very tasty overall good service. Beach no so great and the pool need more activities more entertainment and music louder lol. Had a good time with lovely friends.

Sunscape Cancun Resort and Spa: Beautiful Hotel, Excellent Service!

Always long chairs available at the beach. No complications with reservations/line-ups to eat at the a la carte restaurants. No wait to get served at the bars. Rooms are big, clean and beautiful! Service is great. Checking-in was easy and fast.

Las Palmas by the Sea: Very good value!!

A very good resort for the price!!, good beach, good food, fantastic service people, entertainment ok, rooms and views are good, pools are a bit too shallow, close to everything, will come to this resort again!!
