This was our 3rd time here and everything was top notch! Food was excellent at the buffet, always fresh, hot and lots of choices. Service was amazing at all times. Check in was fast and organized and our room was clean, and always cool. The beach was beautiful, which we spent every day on and ocean was so refreshing, however water was a little rough our first week, but our second week was calmer, which was nice. We loved it! Enriqez, our server on the beach, made our trip even better, beca[... read more]use of his smiling face and sense of humour and mostly, caring personality. Lots of shopping with 20 min walk to 5th Avenue! The pools were nice, but wished they were a little cooler, but that was due to the hot sun, which we had no complaints. We enjoyed the restaurants, especially the Italian, but we preferred the buffet because of the variety of food. Great service too! Activities around the pool were fun to watch and the foam party was a blast! The White party at the Tequila was also a lot of fun and worth going to. Overall, it was a fabulous trip and we would highly recommend!

Catalonia Royal Tulum: Fun resort
Overall a good experience. Entertainment staff was excellent! I enjoyed games by the pool daily.
Rooms were quiet and well kept.
Mini-bar was stocked daily without fail.
The surf was rough most days, so we didn't spend time at the beach as we normally would.
The evening show or activity didn't start until 9:30pm, which is a little late for us. So we only saw 1 show.
Biggest drawback for us was **There is no dinner buffet! **
This is the only all-inclusive that we have ever been to t[... read more]hat didn't have one. Every dinner had to be pre-booked. So on our first night there, we had to order room service, as we couldn't find an opening anywhere! When on vacation, we don't like being tied to timelines.
Also, we didn't like being hounded by different "concierges" about 'gifts' we could get if we took a tour with them and listen to their spiel.

Ocean Coral and Turquesa: Great Resort Worth every penny
My wife and I had a great time here, we stayed in the Privilege section. We received lots of upgrades and spent our time in Privilege restaurant and pool area for adults only. The resort was big, well maintained and lots for us to do. The food was excellent at all restaurants and the buffet. Drinks were great as always and with privilege we got premium alcohol. It may not be a fancy high end resort, but we are easy going and this was perfect for us.

Bahia Principe Escape Sian Ka'an: Better than Feb.2023
Went to the hotel from April 30th to May 14th, 2024 with Air Canada Vacations, first class from Montreal at a price of $7756.00 for 2 adults including Care Flex for a superior penthouse room 40923. On this occasion our stay was very good compared to Feb.2023. Maiko a la carte restaurant not as good as Feb.2023. They changed the main dishes for the worse. Alux was good but inconsistent with the steak size, 4"x4"x2" the first time, barely 2 square inches the 2nd time. Service was excellent and pro[... read more]fessional at both places. Spa prices increased by 30 % and if it wasn't for one of our director friend, who got us a very good discount, we couldn't have went at all. Shows were ok, crooner should be replaced with the one in Feb. 2023. Rock shows were excellent. Circus show is getting old and should be revamped. Buffet was better than good, but not excellent. Had to on numerous occasions had to tell staff to replenish the empty food section offerings. Different country themes every night, and was repeated for the two weeks we were there. Beach was very bad with a lot of rocks and not very deep. Sian Ka'an beach section very, very dangerous for the elderly. Anywhere on the beach you MUST HAVE BEACH shoes with a hard sole or you'll be sorry. Pools at the hotel were awful beacuse the water was hotter than the outside temperature. They should empty part of the pools and refresh with cooler water. Trolley service to the other parts of the hotel site very inconstent and would sometimes take up to 15-20 mins. Room service was 50/50, sometimes very good, sometimes not so good. (Received food cold) Lobby bar during daytime was good, but night time was slow, they need to add more staff at the bar. Floor waitress were excellent, poilte, professional and always with a smile. Snacks at the lobby (not everyday) at 3-5pm was nice. Rooms clean and done twice a day if needed. Jacuzzi was old, leaking and should be changed. A/C partly working. One was working, the other wasn't but the working one was enough. I think I've covered everything and hope the info was useful to you all. Quality vs price, it's one of the better hotels in Mexico.

Bahia Principe Explore Tulum: Really good time in Tulum
I had such a good time at Tulum Grand Bahía. Shauna’s passion and knowledge for traveling really helped me throughout my journey. Everything was smooth and well planned. The hotel was great, food was amazing and the entertainment by the pool was so much fun. She helped me find the best possible option for my budget. She also suggested to pay a little more to go the Tulum instead of Coba. She definitely nailed it cause the 2 are not comparable. Tulum is much cleaner and a better experience overal[... read more]l. Royalton Hideaway Riviera Cancun: Great resort
The rooms are updated, cleaned daily and provide body wash, shampoo, lotion and conditioner. Rooms have bottled water, pop and beer in the mini bar.
The food is very good. Buffet has a lot of variety, Caribbean seafood is exceptional and steak house too. We never waited for and restaurants but it was hard to book the Tapynaki restaurant cause we were a large group. Food truck sandwiches are incredible-pulled pork, and fish sticks plus the oven baked pizza next to food truck is amazing.

Staff are all friendly and will go out of their way to help you. Raul, the waiter at the kids pool was exceptional.
Resort is beautiful. Only down fall is the beach area is below standard for Cancun. It’s not the blue water you see in Cancun. This place is great for families and couples.

The Fives Beach Hotel and Residences Playa Del Carmen: Good Value Resort
Pools are excellent. Service is excellent. Food above average. Drinks are good.
If you get a renovated room, they are nice. If you get a non updated room, it is dated. Try to request a renovated room.
Had some issues with bugs and an air conditioner, but the resort was very responsive

Bahia Principe Escape Sian Ka'an: Great holiday at Bahia Sian Ka'an
I know why this hotel has a very high return rate! With 4 hotels in one there is no shortage of things to do and places to eat. Sian Ka'an is a lot quieter and generally speaking is a more mature crowd. That being said, a trolley ride takes you to the sister hotels where there are plenty of activities to partake in. The beach is a bit rocky and I would recommend water shoes to protect your feet. The staff also work so diligently to deal with the sargassum. Many of the a la carte dinners on the s[... read more]ister resorts are not air conditioned and I would recommend dressing accordingly; wear breathable fabrics especially in the summer heat! I also recommend bringing lots of suncream and /or a hat, rash guard etc. that mexico sun is hot and these items are quite pricey on the resort. The Sian Ka'an property hosts the most shade, especially by the pools, and offers the a/c in the restaurants. The most variety of alcohol and premium bottles are easy to get at the lobby bar, sometimes pool bars don't have as much selection. Definitely didn't bother me, but some guests wanting a specific bottle were a bit disappointed to find that each bar didn't necessarily have every bottle. The one criticism I would comment on, is the trolley system. The new speed bumps installed on the Sian Ka'an side which take you to the sister hotels, gyms and beach are a bit brutal! No matter how gentle the driver attempted to take them, and even when bracing for the impact of them, you can really feel the trolleys being bounced around! These are the screw in speed bumps and I really wish the resort would consider another more gentle solution! Also, sometimes getting a trolley back to Sian Ka'an from the sister resorts can be a bit time consuming, just something to keep in mind. There's evening entertainment in the lobby area, I do recommend getting there a bit early for seating. The variety of food at the buffet really is fantastic, with different focuses each night (ie. Italian, American or Mexican themed nights). We were also told, we could ask the chef to prepare a specific item if we didn't find items at the buffet. I never found this necessary with the large variety and assortment of dishes. The Bahia app was really helpful also, great for ordering room service or communicating any special requests inside the room (more pillows, water bottles etc.) The lobby staff, in fact all of the staff here are genuinely so kind and attentive. Even in the heat everyone was smiling, pleasant and very inviting! Missing mexico and Bahia already!

Paradisus La Perla Adults Only Riviera Maya: The best resort!
We cannot recommend this resort enough! The attention to detail at Paradisus La Perla is truly phenomenal. We stayed for 7 nights at the Reserve, and spending the extra for the Reserve was very worth it. Eduardo was our personal concierge, and he made sure we were looked after every single day - he booked our restaurants, and excursions for us. He organized a surprise for our anniversary, and birthday, from cake to decorations in the room, with the bath drawn with rose petals. Truly amazing at w[... read more]hat he does, and we cannot thank him enough! Angelo at the Fahrenheit Pool, reserved a cabana for us every day and we had poolside food & drink bought directly to us, he's the loveliest person. The two entertainment guys made the pool and nightlife a lot of fun and inclusive for everyone! Mathieu at South Bar was incredible, best cocktails and so friendly. All the servers at each restaurant were outstanding (especially at Sante, the Reserve restaurant). The food was so good, we went to a different restaurant every night, and the buffet had a different theme nightly! Our room was spectacular, we had a gardenview suite, which included a tub on the balcony and in the room, king size bed, full kitchen & living room, and the AC was an amazing relief! Everywhere we want we were greeted by friendly faces. The resort itself is stunning, the architecture, the plants, the walkways, the beaches, the shows, the level of service - truly a 12/10. Also this resort is within a 20 minute walk along the beach to Playa del carmen, which was perfect for day trips and some nights out! We will be back again! Thank you to all the staff that made our trip extra special.

Catalonia Yucatan: Nice Stay
The room at the Catalonia Yucatan hotel could benefit from some renovations, as it showed signs of wear and tear, with paint peeling off the doors and chipped bathroom tiles. However, the hotel staff was very friendly and helpful. The beach at the Catalonia Yucatan hotel was disappointing due to the abundance of seaweed, and in some areas, the beach bed was rocky. Thankfully, we packed our water shoes, which helped. We tried to use the beach at a neighboring property, where Catalonia Yucatan gue[... read more]sts have access, but the staff informed us we could only use the beach, not the loungers. However, we found a nice, clean beach without seaweed at the Catalonia Maya Riviera hotel next door. Although this area is designated for privileged guests, we were able to use the loungers without any issues. However, the bar next to this area is exclusive to privileged guests, so we had to walk all the way to the other pool bar for drinks. The seaweed issue seems to be seasonal, occurring in April, May, and June. We were told that there is no seaweed during the November, December, and January season.
I wish they would change the flight schedule for this trip. Our flight left Toronto at 6:15am, meaning we had to be at the airport by 3:00am or 4:00am at the latest. The return flight was also tiring, with our airport pick-up from the hotel at 5:00am, so we had to get up by 4:00am to get ready and pack. This early schedule meant we couldn’t have breakfast at the hotel, as the restaurant opens at 7:00am. Additionally, the bus ride to the airport was long since we were the first to board and it made multiple stops at other hotels before reaching Cancun airport. We had already been up since 4:00am. They should schedule these flights later to avoid such early wake-up times.
What truly made this trip enjoyable was the Mexican people. They were helpful and cheerful, and genuinely wanted us to enjoy visiting their country.

Ocean Riviera Paradise: Disaster in paradise…
We started off with an “upgraded” room only to be greeted with a trashed room that was under construction after waiting almost 4 hours for our room to be ready to check in. Then they proceeded to move us to a kids section of the resort after expressing we did not want to be there in the first place. After that whole ordeal that took over an hour they placed us in another room, the next day we were moved again which was a complete inconvenience, waste of money and time. When we got moved to our t[... read more]hird room one of the main upgraded feature was the rooftop jacuzzi that did not even work! Also apparently ocean view which was completely blocked by a wall, when this was mentioned to hotel staff nothing was done. The communication and organization at this resort was severely lacking. Very disappointing trip for us. To top it off at the end of the vacation we were instructed to be ready at our room for luggage pick up at 530am. We arrived at the lobby and waited for our transfer for over an hour and kept asking the front desk staff that had 0 information for us. They kept shifting us off to the bellboy who was incredibly rude, laughing in our faces and told us we missed our bus and to find another way to the airport. We then were left no choice but to take a taxi who told us it would be $80 USD which we agreed to. When we arrived to the airport the driver wouldn’t open the truck to give us our luggage and demanded more money from us. He refused to give us our bags until I had to drain all the money out of my wallet, extremely disappointing turn of events. We ended up paying double the price for the taxi. To top it off this resort doesn’t even have a beach! It’s completely washed away and you can’t really access it through other resorts because they are private to the hotel. The only good parts about this hotel were the serving staff and coffee shop was a cool feature. All that being said we would never go back here save your money and time and look else where.

Blue Diamond Luxury Boutique Hotel: Great value!
While some criticize this resort because of a little "wear and tear", you'll be hard pressed to find better value. This is the second time we've stayed here and I'd happily go back again. If you're looking for salsa lessons or volleyball, this isn't the place for you. If you're content to chill by the pool and be well served and fed, you'll have a very enjoyable time. I hope they don't change a thing because I like this resort just the way it is.
Edilzar and his team sevices from restaurant Katok was phenomenal ! We always been welcome as we were home! Always willing to help with any request we may have during meals... And also had great services from his Manager Julian... Overall experience during the stay was really great except for some minor caveat...
1- Our first room shower was not working good (which is surprising for an deluxe hotel like this one). We have reported the situation on our arrival Friday and up to Tuesday it was[... read more] still not fixed. They finally moved us to a different room and everything was good there.
2- We subscribe to the premium high speed internet, and although it went well for the first device, it been quite a nightmare to add the second device and needed help from a onsite tech to add it. But frankly, we have not see much difference compare to the normal free internet access as for the speed and stability. Is the tech really add us to the premium plan?? They should be improvement to integrate the Internet Premium subscriptions and possibility adding extra device with Bahia App to make it easier for guests. Also, it looks like when selecting Free access, there is no easy way to to subscribe to the Premium plan.
3- 2 out of the 7 evening show entertainment were chargeable if you want to attend.
As for other positives aspects, we notice there is been renovation improvement for some of a la carte and buffet restaurants and rooms (although we were in the older model room). It also seems they increase the team to remove the Sea Weeds that become very problematic in the region and therefor we could enjoy to go in sea water with very minimal weeds.
As a side note Tip, you can pre-checking your reservation 10 days in advance via the app and when you do you may want to reserve your a la carte restaurants as soon as possible via the app as the most popular one getting filled very rapidly. Do not wait to reserve when at the resorts to reserve because you may have very limited selections.

We thought the resort was beautiful! The wildlife is the real reason we came here and that did not disappoint! It was amazing all the different animals, we are sad that the weather was too hot for the monkeys to come out for the most part and the weather was far too windy for snorkelling but that’s on me and my lack of planning.
