Bahia Principe Escape Runaway Bay: Lacking in Luxury

We booked the Luxury side; unfortunately it lacked in luxury. Only one day of 10 for turn down service, always asking for wash clothes, bath mats, no robes/slippers, ran out of premium liqueurs/liquors at luxury bars, limited bar service at luxury beach. Staff was great, food - especially Jamaican cuisine was great. The good beach is on the Grand side - loooong walk.

Bahia Principe Explore Punta Cana: Nice resort

Bahia Principe is a nice complex of hotels. The grounds are very well kept and there is a good entertainment every day. There are several pools with swim up bars. The beach is wide and cleaned daily. (Because there is lots of seaweed )

Bahia Principe Explore Akumal: Amazing resort

This hotel was beautifully designed landscaping were very impressive! My room was clean daily on time with fresh toiletries and the mini fridge was stocked daily. The restaurants and foods prepared were mouth watering. Didn’t visit the buffet for dinner and lunches… I’m giving this hotel 9/10 only because of the beaches. I hope they will have more swimming area for the sea lovers like myself.

the room was clean but old , however the public area was good, but the restaurant was not clean we found cockrochs in many of restaurants the floor very greasy and not clean, the restroom below the average.

It was the worst vacation I ever visited in my life. More than 3 hours to check in. The staff were not professional at all .Rarely to find someone speaks English. Rooms were dirty and the service was very bad. Wifi was very slow and most of the times it wasn’t working. Very bad experience and not worth a single penny. Cleanness of dishes, spoons, cups is very disgusting. WiFi is garbage Food is not nice. We ate only pizza during our stay Most important, the pools have no filtration and most of the group returned sick with ear infections

A plethora of activities to choose from in a safe and well groomed facility. I am grateful for Mr. Graham' (from tripcentral) recommendation. The ambience was fantastic and lots of dining choices. This location will be on my vacation inventory for the future

We had an amazingly great time. Staff were respectful, helpful and pleasant! We would definitely go back! I was there in March and decided upon my return home, in March, that I must book another trip to Bahia ASAP! This the reason we booked our trip in July! Money well spent!

Bahia Principe Explore Coba: Good Value

Have stayed at this resort in Dec 2019. Liked it very much and so decided to go there again. On the previous occasion, guests were able to enjoy lunch at their sister resorts nearby and Alcoholic drinks at the Bars but that has been discontinued. Some premium alcoholic drinks which were part of the All Inclusive package are now being charged extra. The resort was full at the time and there were guests of all ages ranging from Infants to Seniors, some even in wheelchairs.

Bahia Principe Explore Tulum: Great resort

Everything was amazing. It was clean, people were friendly. Great entertainment and nice pools. Food was alright. The only thing is a lot of seaweed on the beach which sucked. Otherwise great resort for everyone! Family friendly!

Bahia Principe Explore Esmeralda: Nice Resort

The resort is beautiful, lots to enjoy. The service was not impressive at all. The dining room was terrible service, you can ask for tea, water or wine and get it the same time you finish eating. I think they could do a better job with organizing the dining room area. I found it very difficult that the workers didn't know the basic English, and that led them to ignore our request. Hello, I like to leave a review on our recent travels to this hotel and our experience with trip central. Firstly when when we speaking with trip central agent about booking travel and stay at this hotel. Even thou the travel agent informed us that no flights would fly directly into Samana going forward and therefore only to Puerto Plata at the time of travel. They could have stated that as a courtesy. Nevertheless, the trip was booked. We stayed at this hotel before (pre- pandemic) and the experience was incredible therefore we were so excited to take our first trip after the pandemic to this exact destination and hotel again. We stayed two weeks in superior junior suite. The room was great as like before. However, the overall service was average at best. Far cry from before(pre pandemic). The shows were only tailored to children. No adult shows or entertainment existed. Very disappointing. The service seemed to cater to the locals rather than travellers from outside countries. On weekends the service was even worse. Sometimes had to ask to be served after waiting on servers who were going to serve locals multiple times. It was noticeable… some were quite rude and and didn’t try to even speak a word of English. The beach is great. Overall, average. Never travelling to this hotel again. Not worth the money and never using trip central again.

No covid changes to any process from what I observed. First room had a lot of mold and with the first rain water came in from the ceiling down the wall. Took a day to get into a new room which at least didn't have mold all over the tub area. The beach was full of seaweed therefore the pool was jammed packed. Resort was full. Once you got to Client services the people did do their best to help you but being in line for over an hour each time takes it toll especially when they tell you to come back in a few hours only to be told to come back again. Room card keys are constantly not working. Apparently do not put those near your cell phone or a credit card or it wipes out the coding on it. Several people were always at the front desk about it. Its annoying when its 11pm and you cannot get into you room and you have to walk all the way back. The trolly's were inconsistent and often did not stop for you. If you have trouble walking or getting around this resort is not for you.

Bahia Principe Escape Ambar: Beautiful Reaort

The resort was spectacular. My friends and I had a wonderful time filled with lots of fun activities. My boyfriend who has many food allergies/sensitivities had no problems finding things to eat at both the buffet and the a la carte restaurants. There was sanitizer available throughout the resort, which was really the only COVID protection that was noticeable. There was no air circulation in many of the a la carte restaurants either. Bahia Principe Escape Runaway Bay: Vacation July 2022

We stayed at this resort for 2 weeks in July of 2022 .The resort is very large and consists of a lot of walking. There is a cart service available however waiting for the cart took quite a long time and walking sometimes seemed much faster. The hotel itself was quite clean and the staff was following covid protocols most of the time. They were constantly having guests hand sanitize before entering any buffet areas and counting people as they entered to make sure it wasn't over populated. There was not alot of variety, it was the same thing almost every single day and unfortunately the food was always cold despite us going right when the buffet opened. For a 5 star hotel I expected the food to be a little bit better. The beach was beautiful. The grand side of the beach was a lot bigger than the luxury side so we often walked over to the other side of the hotel. The luxury side was very windy and the beach was smaller but if you do enjoy a nice quiet day at the beach the luxury side is very nice. Sadly the entertainment was very boring and sad. It was very loud when it didn't need to be and the entertainment was not very interesting sometimes the events listed on the board were not what was happening during the entertainment portion so that was a little bit confusing. The elevators were very slow so if you were on the high floor you had a lot of walking to do in the very hot weather luckily for us we were only on the 3rd floor so it wasn't too bad. We tried to order room service but it took a long time for anything to get delivered and when it was delivered some of the items we had requested were not brought to us. The rooms were always cleaned by a reasonable time during the day. Checking in and checking out of the hotel was fairly easy and done quickly. Overall we enjoyed our stay however we will not be returning back to this resort. Many members of the staff try to get you to join their privilege club which often became annoying they would ask you every day but they're just doing their job. Jamaica was nice and I would definitely go back but I would definitely change up resorts.

Bahia Principe Explore Tulum: The resort was amazing!!

Love this resort!! My family and I stayed at this resort on the week of my birthday and they put a birthday banner on the door and gave us a bottle of champagne. I loved that and thought it was so nice!! The only thing I wish someone told me about was the 2 a la carte dinner reservations. I didn’t know we had to book those right away. Bahia Principe Explore Jamaica: 3* Hotel

I was at this about 1 year prior to the start of COVID. At that Time I gave it a 4* rating. RE this trip. the staff were still wonderful, friendly, helpful and courteous. The room was clean and spacious. However, things like wash cloths and bathmats were provided only when asked for and were not always available(no fault of the staff). All services were provided on a bare minimum basis. Now that I am 5 years older than when I was last at the resort, there re certain areas that should be addres [... read more]sed to ensure the safety of seniors. the toilet bowl is so low that a senior of my height and age had extreme difficulty using it. Having a grab bar in that area and in the shower stall would make people of my age feel much safer and would reduce the risk of falls.

It is old dated property and when i google it it say it is built in 2016. Thats not true is old property and rooms are very old they jst changwd the name and built castle and new swimming pool when u google it u think it is new but it is not. Plus if u have kids be aware bcz my daughter got hand foot and mouth infection. The service a this hotel is so poor. We would not ever consider returning there after our experience. The front desk staff are very rude and seem annoyed if a guest asks them anything at all. There were always a line up of angry customers at the front desk. The front desk staff were apathetic and did not seem to enjoy being there at all. The waitstaff there seemed stressed and angry. Wait times were excessive. The "Knife" steakhouse restaurant had the absolute worst service and many tables got up and left the restaurant in the middle of the meal. We spoke to the manager and he said that many tables were complaining and he was sorry and would send an email to his boss. The tapinaki restaurant was very good. The food and the service were great. The beach was lovely. The room was comfortable but the toilet ran non-stop the entire trip and the air conditioner did not work properly.
