very busy resort,,beach area,,where cubans are allowed on beachs,,,you need to stay close to your chairs,,for if you leave they will take over,,,,lots of time we left beach for that reason,,,same food everyday,,,,nice beach,,water,,,,

Sol Rio de Luna y Mares: Love this resort!

This resort is in such a beautiful setting, the beach is magnificent with great snorkelling. The gardens are kept beautiful and the grounds are kept very clean. Rooms definitely need some updating as they are showing their age, the hotel has started to do updates so some of the sections were closed when we were there. The nightly entertainment was good we enjoyed the live bands and singers. Sol Turquesa Beach: Amazing Resort , people and travel Agent experience !!!!

We reasonly stayed at Momories Resort in Holguin Cuba. This resort was surprisingly more then we had hoped for . I had stayed in Vadodara in January my first time away ever . And wasnt even sure I wanted to go back to Cuba period! But my husband talked me into going there for our honeymoon . He had never been away either. Im so gald I did! Because we are hooked ! The food was outstanding ! The grounds beautiful . Beds pretty comfy, rooms large and spacious. The rooms always well stocked . plen [... read more]ty of water , towels and blanks. But most of all the people that work this report were the friendliest most beautiful people , they treated us like royalty for a week . We developed friendships with some that seemed a bitter sweet parting when time came to go . we have emails and names and will continue to keep intouch . The guests number where down being end of peek season . which allowed us time to meet people staying on the resort with us . We meet some of the most awesome people . That will forever be part of are memories . Thank you Memories Holguin for making our honeymoon and our Cuban experience one we will never forget . On a scale of 1 to 10 . We give it a 15! Lol I can't imagine anyone not liking this resort 💓 We would like to thank Trip central and are agent Melissa Alexander in the wolfville N.S. location ! She took the time to look and re-look lol to compare resorts that fit are needs and wants . Because it was the first trip I planned , I hadnt a clue what I was doing or looking for. Club Amigo Atlantico Guardalavaca: Nice 3 star

We stayed in tropical sea view room in the main hotel. Our room was clean and everything worked well. The food at buffet was ok. We always found something we liked. Breakfast at El Benny restaurant every morning with bacon and eggs cooked to order. The public beach beside hotel was awesome with some great food for sale, about 5$ a plate. On the weekend the resort became very busy with local clientele which resulted in longer line ups and some running out of some food. Brisas Guardalavaca: Beautiful resort!!

There was no shortage of food at the resort. Go to the buffet and see Miguel to get fresh omelettes! The resort was well kept. We stayed in the villas and had a wonderful time. The staff was very friendly! Thank you Brisas for a great time!

Brisas Guardalavaca: Fantastic people and place

This is one of my favorite resorts in the area because of the people and the area which is close to the beach and walking distance to everything you need including restaurants, pools , shopping. The hotel part is for people who want a little more noise and fun and if you want a little more peace and quite, then the villa area pool or beach is the place for you ... many places to eat and many bars to choose from. Playa Pesquero: Love this resort andwill be returning again for sure

We love Playa Pasquero and have visited 4 times since December 2017. Upon arrival this time we however were a little disappointed and did not get to the resort until 1230 am on the 4th (should have arrived at around 1030 pm on the 3rd), our plane was delayed in Halifax. We had booked an upper floor and were placed in lower. After a little checking they did manage to find a room so we would not have to switch the next day. They had taken our envelope back along with the towel tickets and gav [... read more]e us a new one without any towel tickets. So the next day we went up early and they would not give us a duplicate until the towel huts opened and they could confirm we did not get towels already.(waited until 9). I did mention to the girl who checked us in that I thought our bracelets were the wrong colour and she assured they were correct. We found out in the morning they were wrong and had to have them replaced. There was one day we did not received beverages in our fridge, can live with that though, enough to drink on the resort, so many places to choose from. . The staff are amazing and very helpful. Beach is beautiful. Pool looks amazing but we are not pool people. A la cartes are excellent. (Italian, Romantic, Caribbean). We have eaten at the seafood twice and find the lobster is always very dry and seems over cooked. My son had the hake and could not stop talking about it all week, he loved it! I was a little disappointed to see the menus changed at the romantic and Italian and no lobster on their menus anymore, but the food did not disappoint. The Gala dinner was fantastic and so happy to see it setup as a buffet style with many choices. We did have to wait for our transfer to the airport going home, (it was an hour and half late),no fault of the resort though. The weather was perfect, sunshine every day in the high 90's and we will be back again for sure! Great resort.

Paradisus Rio De Oro: Superior resort

The hotel is the best of best in Cuba. I enjoyed the adults only options. My room was very nice and housekeeping was excellent: clean towels every day. Staff was super nice, location of my room was excellent, close to the beach and close to the pool and main area. I enjoyed it so much. I am highly recommending this hotel. I spend most of my time at the beach, ohh, the best beach in the world.

Paradisus Rio De Oro: The best in Holguin

It is like being in paradise. Royal service is fabulous. Every employee is super friendly and helpful. Very accommodating for my strict vegetarian diet. The pools are spectacular. The beaches amazing.

Playa Pesquero: All I remembered!

Excellent staff, clean rooms, love the pool and beach! Country wide food shortage, did the best they could. Would be nice if the Jacuzzis had some heat! Outdoor spa has not been completed in the at the pool.

Paradisus Rio De Oro: Why go anywhere else?

This was our fourth trip to "our" resort and it is the only place we will go in Cuba. The resort has absolutely everything we were looking for four years ago and the staff who we now call friends treat us better than our so called friends at home in Canada. The junior suites are spacious and kept clean while our fridge is fully stocked by the best room service attendants...Jorge Leandro Perez being personal favorite. We love the disco at night with DJ Oso playing the music we request every night. He's an awesome guy and anyone who has the opportunity to get to know him should do so. All in all, the resort and the areas off resort are our favorite places outside of Canada. We cant wait until next year to return. We prefer to visit in May and June as it is not as busy. Club Amigo Atlantico Guardalavaca: Pools, mattresses and A la Cartes need improvement

1.The pools are nice, but require better cleaning and more often. 2.The foam party should be in a pool, not on the beach, it's not comfortable to dance in, especially on cool evenings, muddy and ruins your clothes. 3.It is almost impossible to get A la Cartes, every times I've been (4X) it's the same thing "we have nothing available", so you either take nothing or go to one you don't want and see that half the tables are empty. Playa Pesquero: Excellent Vacation

We had a great time! Resort was beautiful and the staff were very friendly. Recommend bringing your own Bubba mug for drinks as their plastic cups are quite small. The food isn’t the best but you won’t go hungry - it is Cuba after all. The grilled chicken at the lunch buffet and the pancakes for breakfast were really good. Romantico and Italian al la cartes were our favourite. Will definitely be back.

Aston Costa Verde Beach Resort: Great vacation

This hotel had changed hands since our previous visit in 2017. Happily, the changes were for the good. The food is above average for Cuba. I cannot say enough good things about the staff. They were always happy to serve you whether you tipped or not. Always smiling, and our room cleaner did a great job. We will probably visit again in the future.

Club Amigo Atlantico Guardalavaca: Great resort, that gets better with each year

Had one of best vacation here in April. Check in was a bit rough at first, as lots of Cuban families were checking in for weekend. But was worth the wait. Resort is HUGE, So you do have option of staying in the middle of action, or away from it. I Stayed in villas, and it was quiet & relaxing, far from all the noise, If you want action - stay at bungalow or hotel itself, as it is also close to beach party and Carnaval, where lot of locals (extremely friendly nice people) are. Stuff is very friendly, not hustler like in Varadero, drinks - as strong as you ask them to be. Bring little present to five out (especially to cleaning ladies) - and they will show their utmost appreciation. Food for me was ok (I'm not very picky, so always had something to eat. Just in case - bring your own bottle of ketchup ;) PLEASE, bring your own plastic/metal mug, as drinks are served in plastic cups, and there are too many of them being thrown out, polluting the ocean. There are 2 beaches - really small one with bar (in form of ship), with lots of shade (but need to take places early in the morning), and public, where lots of locals come to relax. Entertainment was very nice. Thought i missed most of it, but the Foam beach party and singing bands were EXTRA WONDERFUL. Right next to resort is Carnaval Guardalavaca - a little bar/shop open air plaza, that turns into huge disco on Fri and Sat. Had lots of fun. I really hope to return to resort if not in August, then at least in November!

Playa Costa Verde: This was our 8th time at Playa Costa Verde

Everything was great, as always. The variety of food was not as fulsomely as usual, but after talking to locals we know now why. The problem is Donald Trump and his embargoes. They try what they can and now local people have almost nothing to eat anymore, because the Resorts are more important. This is very sad.

Just returned from this resort. I had booked last minute and when I arrived at the Holguin airport they put me on the bus for my resort but then asked me to take my bag from the bottom storage compartment myself as there were no seats for me. They did put me on another bus going close by quickly and I was ok with that ...had paid extra for a pool view room but was booked into a room facing the backside of a snack-bar.The kitchen side that was open and where supplies were dropped and picked up. The food was pretty good, the ice cream was v-good..the service at the main snack bar was poor.. waited to get drinks.The staff were not in a hurry to wait on people.I always asked for dark rum they always put white in, right in front of me. I learned quickly that you had to push your way in The bar tenders never seemed to take notice of who was there first and yes I tipped and the locals were not tipping. Getting a drink was painful. I bought beer and rum at the gift shop and that was better. I did notice that the gift shop charge 1 cuc per beer this was nice and fair so didn't mind that because I was tipping that every other time and the cans held more beer and better. Lots of locals visiting resort ? 80%...The resort was not packed...ending of tourist season I guess. The grounds, layout ,pools and beeches were very nice and clean. I spent time in the main lobby and found the cleaning staff to be very good...Found bread to be scarce and bland...something was missing...buns on hotdogs and hamburgers hard and bland. If you don't want to buy your own beer and are looking for bar service then stay away but overall everything else was good...The service in the buffet was good I must add that only the pool snack bar was bad...but that was the main bar.I never fell sick during my visit

Sol Turquesa Beach: Great Vacation

This was my first time in Holguin, 7th time in Cuba. My boyfriend and I went and three friends joined us. The resort was clean, food was good. Not sure why so many people complain about the food. We got a bottle of rum in our room and beer, water and pop everyday. Kirenia at the lobby bar was super attentive and so quick and efficient. Another star employee. There were lots of steps and it is a big resort but we found some short cuts and if it wasn’t for all walking we would have come back heavier than we did. It was s great vacation. The only disappointment for me was the beach. I am used to the soft white sand in Varadero and Santa Maria. There was seaweed and grass in the water and was very shallow so not great for swimming but this has nothing to do with the resort itself. Some people said the snorkelling was good if you went out far enough. It was my boyfriends first time to Cuba and he loved every minute of it and is looking forward to the next trip. Brisas Guardalavaca: Very Nice Resort Close to the Beach

This was my first time to this resort although I've been to Cuba many times. We stayed on the first floor of the hotel very close to the buffet and main pool. We really enjoyed the quiet pool. Beach is very close to the hotel. Buffet food is what you'd expect in Cuba but there is always something to be found to keep you full, especially the pasta and pizzas.

Club Amigo Atlantico Guardalavaca: Very comfortable, friendly resort

Overall a great stay. We were in a villa which is comfortable. Next time we’ll ask for an ocean view. Cuban food includes a lot of meat and fish although we were able to have salads too. The best meal is breakfasts which include personally made omelettes. The staff were friendly and attentive and the beach gorgeous. Would stay there again.
