Grand Palladium Palace: Not a bad resort ...
Resort was too big for our liking.. first day curtain rod fell on my forehead and nobody fixed it the entire time we were there .... if you want peace stay away from the guys in greenish / turquoise shirts... they lie saying you are all family free spa , free massage etc, but they are on a mission to sell timeshare.....
Also for future will never deal with Natasha Spencer..she was horrible to deal with ... so many issues and not a care to respond to emails on a timely manner, sometimes rude [... read more]and her excuse was have been doing this for a long time.. professionalism goes a long way.. Will never use trip central agents like her again ... same as customer service was rude

Bahia Principe Explore Legend: Perfect resort for little kids
I would give this hotel a 4 out of 5 star. I’ve been to many all inclusive. The grounds were clean and beautiful. We also went for a walk at Bavaro and Grand Punta Cana, equally as beautiful. I didn’t like the fact that this is not really an ocean front, Luxury Esmeralda is right in front of it. You had to take the electric cars which came frequently but still would have preferred to be a “real beach front” Buffet was better on the weekend, same with the entertainment. We tried 3 a la carte, Ma[... read more]iko tepankyaki, Mikado and 2x at Le Gourmet because we loved our shrimp and steak and hubby had the lamb rack. Service was excellent! Overall, we had a memorable vacation. Highly recommend for kids 5 and below.

Ocean Blue and Sand: Great resort
This hotel has everything, food was amazing, the buffet was full of variety for breakfast, lunch and dinner and the quality was 5 star, my compliments to the chefs. The resort has four restaurants, let’s start with the best, The Steakhouse was incredible, variety of cuts was good and prep was on point, Mexican was good but nothing special to mention. I didn’t try the Italian because I’m not a fan of Italian cuisine, unfortunately we couldn’t get a reservation for the Japanese restaurant, not bec[... read more]ause it was full but because the online reservation method didn’t work for us, I can say that the sushi at the buffet was really good. If I had one recommendation to make it would be to standardize and improve your restaurant reservation methods.
The resort has this tremendous coffee shop called Mike’s, this place was a God’s send. There was a great variety of pastries and the coffee was delicious. The coffee shop had high back wing chairs and several fans running, it also had a small book case with several books you can borrow, I enjoyed the coffee shop very much.
This is not an overwhelmingly large resort, if you want to get your steps in you can and if you don’t there are double golf cart trains which run regularly throughout the resort. The lobby area is big and beautiful, there is a large bar in the middle and a closed off piano bar to the side. There are 2 very large pools adjacent to the beach, all 3 had pool bars and beach bars. I did not have the Prestige package so I can’t comment on it. I have one very important comment to make and this is for the hotel staff, I was extremely impressed with the professionalism of everyone working for this resort, their knowledge and friendliness was much appreciated, thank you to all of you.
All and all I give this resort the highest marks, they made my stay a great experience and I will definitely be going back for more

Beautiful renovated rooms. Great swim ups.The restaurants at the Amber were amazing.

Needs more excitement in the Amber.

Secrets Tides Punta Cana: Beautiful Resort
Our stay at Secrets Tides Punta Cana Resort was an unforgettable experience, worthy of every one of these five stars. From the moment we arrived, we were captivated by the stunning, pristine beach that was perfect for swimming and walking. The friendly, kind staff made us feel at home instantly, providing exceptional service throughout our stay.
One of the highlights was the accessibility of food at any hour, thanks to 24-hour room service and a convenient café. The brand-new facilities excee[... read more]ded our expectations; our room was immaculate and beautifully designed, featuring modern conveniences like Bluetooth speakers in the ceiling, his and hers large showers, and easy access to lighting controls from both the entrance and bedside. The entertainment options, including multiple free channels and screen sharing (although not compatible with Apple devices), were top-notch.
As preferred members, we enjoyed exclusive access to premium bars, pools, and a private beach area, along with exceptional dining options. Our butler, Jose, was a standout, consistently checking in to see if we needed anything, making reservations for us, and even surprising us with rose petal decorations in our room. His attentive communication throughout the day was perfect for us, though those who prefer more face-to-face interaction should let their butler know their preference.
The resort’s attention to detail extended to the cleanliness and condition of all amenities, from the preferred bathrooms with hand towels to the general maintenance of the property. The two-story gym with an available trainer and the spa offering extensive hydrotherapy options and outstanding treatments were impressive. The spa staff went above and beyond to tailor our treatments to help with our sunburn, providing a service that was both thoughtful and effective.
Dining at the resort was a delight, with Tierra, the South American fusion restaurant, standing out as our favorite. The food was incredible, and the service impeccable, prompting us to return twice during our week-long stay. While language barriers occasionally caused minor issues, the overall dining experience was excellent.
Evenings were spent enjoying the vibrant atmosphere at the Desires bar, where the staff ensured we always had our favorite mojitos in hand. The entertainment, though we often missed the shows due to late dinners, seemed spectacular from what we observed.
Housekeeping deserves special mention for their meticulous attention to our room, tidying up and preparing our bed every evening—an extra touch that truly enhanced our stay.
The only downside of our trip was the encounter with UBV, which we advise fellow travelers to avoid. The time-consuming presentation and subsequent loss of $600 USD were the only blemishes on an otherwise perfect vacation.
Despite this minor hiccup, Secrets Tides Punta Cana Resort delivered an exceptional experience that we are eager to repeat. The combination of beautiful surroundings, outstanding service, and luxurious amenities make this a destination we highly recommend and look forward to visiting again.

Bahia Principe Escape Ambar: Okay Resort
- The grounds are well maintained and look lovely and the public areas were quite good. Unfortunately this resort was promoted to us as a "luxury" hotel. It definitely was not and this was quite disappointing.
- The rooms are okay although I had to point out to the housekeeping staff a spot on the bedspread which was obviously not noticed by their staff. It was finally removed and not replaced for the rest of our stay. Other than that, the housekeeping staff was very attentive and provide[... read more]d us with really good service. The rooms again were adequate but not of "luxury" standard.
- The dining staff were very welcoming and attentive but the food at the restaurants was lacking variety and pretty much the same fare every day for breakfast, lunch and dinner. A bit disappointing as we had stayed at the Bahai Principe Punta Cana many years ago and the food was fabulous. We had no complaints when we had stayed there many years ago.
- The entertainment could be improved as their shows usually lasted 30 minutes and the staff was introduced as a group and not by individual names which would have been nice and more personal. It was noticed that in the pool area the entertainment staff were not interactive with most of the guests and pool activities were not generally announced very loudly to involve most people by the pool. Announcements were mainly in Spanish and a bit of English which was usually missed in translation and hard to hear when any activity was starting. Again the Bahai Principe Punta Canada provided more entertainment and made sure the guests were aware of their activities. Part of this issue is due to everybody using their APP which at times was not accessible when the WiFi system was down.
- There was sometimes a language barrier where some of the reception staff and even the staff asking for guest experience feedback could not understand what guests were trying to say.
- The Air Transat representative at the resort (Emmanuel) needs to have better customer service with the guests when they require his services. He was a bit rude, not only to us but to other guests (confirmed by others), when trying to find out what options we had when there was the over 6-hour flight delay on May 23rd. He was not helpful at all. Having dealt with other representatives (eg, Sunwing, Air Canada), this was the first time we have ever experienced such poor customer service.
- re Value for Money - We would say fair as this resort was promoted a "luxury" hotel and it was not. If we had gone thinking it was just a resort and not a luxury resort, then it would have been good value for the money.

Barcelo Bavaro Palace: Terrible Resort!
This is the absolute worst resort I have ever been to. I did not have running water for 2 days. The staff stole my camera and went through my belongings. I had the do not disturb sign up and they still came into my room while my girlfriend was naked. 90% of the staff are so rude and have the biggest attitude problem. I would not spend my money on this resort. Spend your money wisely, go to Jamaica or Mexico...

Impressive Punta Cana: Okay
They need to work on their check-in process. We were a group of 26 and it took almost 2 hours to check us in. There was inconsistent information shared to us from the person who greeted us at the entrance and the front desk person doing the check-in. Our 90 yr old grandma was given a room so far away from the buffet and lobby. Getting rooms changed etc was a nightmare because again inconsistencies between information from one front desk person to the next. Room cleanliness was okay and food okay[... read more]

Bahia Principe Explore Legend: Good but not great
The resort was good but not great. This was our second time at Bahia Principe Fantasia (visited in 2019 & 2024). The room was spacious but the bathroom needs renovations. The shower and tub are showing signs of aging. The grounds are well kept and the food is always good. All of the a la carts were very good. The service was inconsistent. We experienced great service at one of the restaurants and very poor service at others. The beach was good and the grounds were cleaned up daily. Overa[... read more]ll i would say it was a 7/10. Impressive Punta Cana: Definitely Not Impressive
The beach was very nice and Will at the concierge desk was above and beyond helpful. That was pretty much it.
- Check in was extremely inconvenient as a result of miscommunication. Reception staff were not willing to work around the miscommunication which resulted in a 3 hr check in process for our group of 25. That doesn’t go well after everyone is tired, hungry and just looking to rest.
- the room was ok. Hot Water outages every day from 5-8PM. Room service cleaned well the first day. Days[... read more] after that sheets were barely made, washroom was not cleaned. Overall the rooms got gross through the course of 7 days.
- Tapas and Pizza restaurant never cooked their burgers. I ate one first day, had food poisoning for the next 2 days. I checked another burger and it was raw meat inside. The buffet restaurant was ok. Flies everywhere, however after I got food poisoning I was hesitant of the rest of the food at the resort.
- resort staff all speak Spanish. So it was difficult to communicate. Especially at the reception. There would be one or two receptionist that spoke English, which meant that we always had to wait for those two to be available to help us.
Overall majority of the staff lack in skill resulting in inefficient way to run a resort and increased frustration for travellers.

Serenade Punta Cana Beach and Spa Resort: Fantastic Holiday!
We booked at the Serenade Resort and Spa from May 9-16. This was an excellent resort and stay. Resort was well managed with a large number of very friendly and cooperative staff. Food and drinks were very good overall. Our room was spacious and fully met our expectations. Ours was a premium jacuzzi room (4321) at the front of the resort and facing the beach. View was exceptional.
The room included the Preferred package of options which is highly recommended. This included a specialty restaura[... read more]nt (Gourmet) ; served a 5 course meal which was one of the best we've had in a resort. Preferred also included a separate infinity pool bar area on the 4th floor rooftop facing the beach; spectacular view. Best of all it included access to the adjoining Serenade adult resort; full access except for the ala cartes. Buffet on adult side was exceptional.
Beach was large and very clean. Small amounts of seaweed cleaned daily.
Minor point was the separate checking for the Premiun room had already closed at the time of our arrival about 6.00 pm.
Highly recommend the Serenade for services and value.

JOIA Bavaro by Iberostar: Romantic Anniversary/Marriage/Honeymoon Trip
We wanted something that was private and special as we were celebrating the 10 year anniversary of the day we met, exchanged wedding rings during a romantic dinner on the beach then continued with our honeymoon. Our trip also included my husband’s birthday and Mother’s Day…Iberostar Grand Bavaro was amazing!!!
The beach was wonderful! We walked everyday. After seeing the other resorts along the beach (too many people, no shade or lounges, too noisy, small beach area) we knew we made the correct[... read more] choice with the Grand. Even though we are not pool people, they were very nice and the grounds were beautiful. The food at the restaurants and the buffets were exceptional, the service was always prompt and pleasant. Our room was an ocean view butler suite. It was nice but unfortunately was on the 2nd floor and was furthest from the beach which was disappointing - we had contacted Iberostar prior to arrival to confirm our “closest to the beach” request but never received a response. At check-in and after speaking with the on-site rep nothing could be done to change our room/location. We were told that agencies are only given specific blocks of rooms regardless of what they promise. However, it would have been appropriate for Management to reply to our e-mail to advise. So be aware!
All of the staff at the resort were amazing - definitely 5-star! However, we really didn’t care for the “time share” type of presentation/sell tactics for other Iberostar Resorts while receiving our hotel promo coupons…stuff like that is not acceptable for a 5-Star and Management should rethink this type sales tactics.
Back to the positive - now that we have experienced the Grand we plan on returning (with a few tweaks) as it was a wonderful trip and we would definitely recommend this resort!
