Hyatt Zilara Riviera Maya: Nice hotel, bad beach

Nice compact hotel. 5 restaurants including a buffet restaurant. The food is good, not exceptional. Very friendly people that are willing to help you. Also very clean in the rooms and the hotel hallways. Twice a week they have the buffet set up around the pool where you can watch the show. Not great that they charge you extra when you like to go to that buffet/show. The beach is very small and narrow. Some rocks in the water but it is also very slippery in the water. Doesn't feel great! The w [... read more]ater isn't clear at all. I have seen much nicer beaches around the Mayan Coast. What I didn't like was when we checked in one of the concierges should give us info about the hotel where to find everything. Junior, the concierge was only busy to tell us that we could get a free ride to the Secrets Maroma on a morning to get a free breakfast and they would like to show the hotel. I knew immediately that it would be time share but he GUARANTEED that is was nothing like that. They won't try to sell you anything he promised. Needles to say he lied. They don't call it time share but membership. They were very very annoying. There were 3 different sales man that tried to get us sign the contract. Prices are ridicules and you still need to pay between $80 and $140 pp per night to get all inclusive. And in the meantime you had paid between $50,000 and $139,00 for the membership, depending on the package you chose. Need to be paid off in 60 months at 16% interest. So that was a waste of our time. At least we got $150 cash coupons we could spend at the Secrets Capri. Overall we enjoyed our time but would I go back? NO!!

Selection Riviera Cancun: Excellent Resort

We recently visited Azul Sensatori in the Mayan Riviera and it's our 4th time being there as a family. We love the resort in many ways. The spa is incredible particularly Freddy the Massage Therapist. The pool people are great like Nancy and Fernando at the Beach restaurant are very attentive. Alex and Jorge are awesome at the spoon and Cindy Abby and Violeta are incredible at the kids club. You will never find good water or beach there however. Sadly the Mexican restaurant was clo [... read more]sed due to them fixing it but they still had the food at the beach. It was sad their Micheal Jackson show wasn't back but they still had some excellent shows. They were very accomodating and the rooms were perfect.

The Fives Beach Hotel and Residences Playa Del Carmen: Simply....Great!

The Azul 5 Resort is a wonderful place to relax with family or friends. The accommodations are spacious and well maintained. The food in all the restaurants is topnotch- an extra treat is the Tequila tasting done weekly at the Cantina 1910 bar. Never had to search for a beach or pool chair as they are plentiful. The service is personal and efficient. The staff in the entire resort are so pleasant and helpful. Our personal concierge was helpful throughout our stay and available. Sunscape Dorado Pacifico: Great holiday

Arrived late afternoon and had a quick check in . Front desk organized and knowledgable. Room was as we hoped from pictures and previous reviewers--clean and reasonably up to date. Had an amazing partial ocean view which to us was just as good as oceanfront. Only issue was it was too sunny and hot on the balcony to sit out and enjoy. Food was ok. Usually buffets in previous all inclusive we've stayed in had a pasta and salad bar. Very poor salad bar and non existent pasta except for Italian ni [... read more]ght. A la carts were our favourite. Wine was very good which is a big plus as this is all I drink. Beach was beautiful and fairly long which we enjoyed. Parasailing was done by many as at least 2 out at a time . Massage huts on beach plentiful but can be bothersome as ran out to solicit business when they see you. I tried hut 21 for 200pesos 1 hour massage and highly recommend. The sun and warm temps is what we really came for and were not disappointed. Many nationals , not only in our hotel but others as well which didn't bother us as are respectful and pleasant. I hope we were not bothersome to them. We probably would not return to this hotel as we rarely revisit the same hotel, but many people we talked to return each year and sometimes twice. Absolutely no complaints about staff--work very hard to keep you happy.

Hilton Vallarta Riviera Resort: Did not know what to expect??

Booked this hotel, and trip, through Trip Central for December 11-19, 2016. Fred was a great agent and very helpful. He responded back to my emails and gave me a lot of good advise regarding my trip and reassured me a great vacation. I've heard different opinions from friends regarding all inclusive and most of them say it was so so or boring at times. This was my first time travelling with my daughter to all inclusive so we had no expectation. In fact my daughter wasn't that enthuse about this [... read more] trip. Upon arrival we were surprised that our room was upgraded and were taken to the Grand Room. While we waited we were offered drinks and received a package to meet Jesus from Timon Tours the next morning. We were taken to our room and were very impressed by the view and very large clean bright room. A beautiful ocean view to wake up to and stunning sunsets in the evening. Very comfortable beds which make a restful nights. The next day we had a briefing from Jesus regarding our package regarding shuttle bus back to airport. We had our first breakfast at the buffet and there was so much food to choose from. The waiters were very attentive and the food was good but was warm, would have like it to be hotter. We made reservation for dinner at 9 am to secure our dinner arrangement. The restaurant food were fine but we like the selection of the buffet especially breakfast. Marco was our smoothy operator, very friendly and makes whatever fruit drinks we delighted. We looked forward in seeing him in the morning. The first few days we floundered about in the hotel not sure where anything is or what to expect. It would have been nice if they had a briefing and a map for all new first time guest as to where all the restaurant were located, a big sign as to where activities were taking place and location of towels etc . Eventually we figure it out and made use what was available. On the fourth day my eldest daughter and son in law joined us at the resort and all the kinks were ironed out by the second day. Most guest would rather laid by the pool, soak up the sun, replenish with constant refill of liquor to hearts content but I, I like to keep busy. Everyday there was something to do from 10 am to 5 pm. Kyaking starts at 10:45 am but if there is alot of participants they will make several trips. It takes about 30 minutes to paddle to another beach and another 30 minutes to paddle back. It was a nice adventure. Make sure to go early because it can get book up early. We had Spanish lesson from various of teachers but Julio Caesar was top teacher. Though we were not fluent but it did help us how to understand and communicate a little in their language. Also Julio gives a real workout on water aerobics. We played Black Jack almost everyday and David was an amusing, shifty dealer, still don't know how he always get Black Jack . My daughter and son and law couldn't get enough of the game. Great prizes too. I would have like more dancing lessons but not enough participants. However, my daughters said that Salvadore was an awesome Zumba instructor, they have taken lessons back home but they say he is the best. Extra on the side was a Poolside BBQ lunch and cooking lessons and evening shows. Taco dinner at 7 pm at the offshore grill. We explored all the different lounges such as Tequila, Martini has pool table and Mojito. Mojito was our favorite due to hammock and swing chairs. Room service and fridge bar included. We wanted to watch something on Youtube and they send up their techinician to help us to set it up on their Smart TV. All the staff were friendly, very helpful and ready to serve you. To top the trip was a complementary spa treatment for two. Thank you to Alejandra and Valisa. We were truly pampered. Although I heard a lot of complaints regarding the construction it wasn't that bad, actually it was quite entertaining watching them move the large boulders. Although the make shift beach was small it was nice to walk on the sandy beach. If the tide is low enough you can walk around the rocks and reach another beach within 30 minutes. Again another adventure. We took one day to go downtown by bus and it only took about 15- 20 minutes but be ready for a bumpy ride. We went to the market and tried many Tacos in local downtown area. I was really impressed with my package from Trip Central and would book from them again. It was a really good deal and great bargain for my money. Our first selection was Hyatt Ziva but they were all booked up so the Grand Fiesta was our second choice. We were curious about the Hyatt while we were staying at the Grand Fiesta and was planning a tour it just to see what we may have miss. Actually, decided not too because we were very satisfied with our stay at the Grand Fiesta. By the end of our trip my daughter did not want to leave, she love every minute of it. Although, its was our first time to all inclusive and cannot compare with any other resort. Let's say it was much more than expected. A wonderful relaxing get away from the winter cold weather to a sunny, warm hospitable atmosphere though not perfect but delightful.

Royal Suites Punta Mita: Third time to this resort.confused?

Hello, I'm Bryan . Stayed Two Weeks from Dec.4th to 18th. Upon our stay we encountered mixed results ,some of the employees were awesome ,others NOT AT All!! Let's start with check in ,, we asked for main floor building 5 due to a knee injury upon booking .The butler assigned to us was very accommodating it looked like everything was fine THEN his senior Ruany Changed it all!! Saying give them the room assigned and they will be fine,They not knowing we spoke Spanish.They gave us two double be [... read more]ds back at the entrance of the building. The next day we noticed a couple in the front room to the entrance of the amenities being placed in our perfect spot. I approached the counter to inquire about the room we were not given ,as we all know !! This is a pain to complain. We are Canadians and we don't cause any problems? Ruany gave me total attitude ! Her coworker was Victor and was confused because he was not at work the day prior. You would not believe the difference between the Two! In a minute Victor had his supervisor suggest a room with a king bed .we were shown the room immediately . This was the same room they or should I say the counter supervisor at the check in could have given us from the start .Whitch she.. Ruany decided to tell our butler just put them in a room!!! In saying that Victor had his big boss give us that room 4 days later,thanks bud. Next.the Spa! Remember the Knee?This spa was amazing Steam Sauna ,Hot tub ,Cold tub ,Waterfall ,and regular Sauna. The only issue was the manager of the Spa! I personally was there every day for therapy ,when the Spa was shut down at 6:30 instead of 7:00!! Not understanding ,I approached my butler.He brought his Royal Suites Manager into the issue.We walked back to the Spa together. Unbelievable the spa manager not knowing I spoke the language began to argue that her coworker .she told him that the resort bus was a long ride and wanted to close due to this. He in my disbelief did not reprimand her on the spot! Humbly in trying to accommodate me tried himself to restart the Spa while she was gone. The last negative before the possitives the BEDS! Pillows are great but the beds had all the patrons hurting !! I have slept on a floor when I was younger ,No issues. The general population of this resort is over 55,No floor sleeping in the forecast that was the general concences at the restraunt in the morning. PLEASE UPGRADE THE BEDS....... Oh my wife just recalled the fact of holding your pool beds for the day and not ever using them?We did witness that ! Shame ,Shame After all this ,why do we go back three times? The food!! Lobster every night. Your choice if you ask ? Boiled or BBQ. The people at the the pool tasked at serving maybe 40 patrons. Marisol is spectacular !,,your night bartender Marrisus amazing ... Room service as tasty as the unique restraunt . Custom breakfast ,Poolside lunch as classy as you could get in the best resorts. Pool temps. Will suit your liking,No younger guests to Tempt Arguments. The view at all times,Whales ,Sea water pool ingeineously built on the beach within a short stroll .PS watch your footing ,My wife fell and scratched her leg and arm. Regards Bryan

Bahia Principe Explore Coba: Excellent Holiday

This is our 8th time here,Dec 11th to 18th. We had a very good week at the Coba Premier . A nice quiet junior suite close to the Buffet and Lobby. We had great hot weather, great service . We tried several A La Carte Restaurants and all made us feel like a somebody. This year the Japanese restaurant waiter Angel was the best. The best Filet Mignon goes to the Gourmet Coba . Grand Sirenis Mayan Beach: Great resort

This resort is moderately priced and a great value trip. We went in December 2016 with a party of 11 (a couple in their 70's, two couples in their 50's, my husband, me and our 3 kids aged 6, 5 and 3). There was something for everyone. A relaxing pool, a kid friendly pool, quieter parts of the resort or places to entertain the family. The grounds are clean and well kept. The rooms are a bit dated but we didn't mind at all. Food is so-so and a few of us had short-lived gastro bugs but not unu [... read more]sual for travel to this area. Overall we'd recommend it and will likely be back.

Bahia Principe Explore Tulum: Disappointing beach

The beach is very rocky and "gated" so one can't swim in the knee high deep water. I didn't like the restrictions and limitations. No lights on tennis courts was another disappointment. All restaurants open at the same no chance for 24/7 food access. And, don't go with Air Canada, the flight experience is the nightmare.

Grand Decameron Los Cabos: Nobarbarat much good to say

First the good. The staff try hard. The grounds are lovely. Now the rest. There are only one buffet and one other restaurant. I am a WINE drinker, non of the bars carry wine????? The buffet does and sometime the other restaurant but not always. Two nights a week only the buffet is open. I suppose it is for staffing reasons. One evening at the buffet as it was the only one open, Perrin asked for a vodka and tonic only to be told they only have wine, beer, soda and lemonade. WHY?????? T [... read more]he resort caters to Mexicans and therefore 99% of the food is for their taste not mine. Also most staff speak only spanish. WE DON”t Once upon arrival you are told to not flush toilet paper down the toilet but to put it into the basket after your business is done. HOW GROSS. They do have an adult only pool but you must go up a large flight of stairs, no elevator, so for us it was a no go. Perrin has mobility problems. I would be hard pressed to return to this location as the choices are so large where there are many other places that would appreciate my business. Prices are so varied at this location. Spoke to many people that paid a whole lot less than we did. I do not think we spoke to one person that paid more although some may have. Of all the people we spoke to only two said they would return. Not a great recommendation for them Apparently they have sent a manager from another Royal DeCameron to do manage control. I wished him luck as he has a very big job ahead of him.

Barcelo Puerto Vallarta: Beautiful Place

Pros...Beautiful resort with lots of pools. We loved our 2 bedroom suite, the baby crib that was delivered was perfect, the grounds, pools were awesome! We had to use medical for our sick baby and was promptly delivered via ambulance to the Puerto Vallarta Hospital which also had really great service. Cons... Loud music pounding until 6am, lots of parties for locals, one whole pool was used by the locals to party in until 6pm every day. Grand Sirenis Riviera Maya: 2nd time and there will be a third time...soon

I stayed for 7 days at the Grand Sirenis this was my second time after 9yrs...and it hasn't changed. Hotel rooms are big, spacious, clean and nice. Grounds are nice and well mantained. Entertainment was great. Food and theme nights were great. Only issue was booking the 3 a la cartes...we were a group of 6 so getting an early 6pm dinner was impossible...dinners were 9pm and with shows at 9:30...very hard. Drinks were always flowing and had a great variety. Pool e entertainment kept my 9yr old [... read more] busy all day. I arrived on my birthday and was offered an upgraded room if I paid...this was my 40th birthday and nothing was done by hotel, even when told on many occassions, very disappointing :( Check in was SLOW...1 person at desk...after a 2hr ride to hotel with 3 kids this was hard. Beach party was cool and welcomed change. Beach was nice, free snorkelling was great. Massage on the beach was fabulous. I had pictures taken by Adventure Tours and they were worth every dollar, they came out beautiful. Love the charge to room service at gift store, since I never tend to walk with money.

Holiday Inn Resort Los Cabos: Quiet resort

Check in was very fast and the girls at the front desk are very helpful and knowledgable. No problems what-so-ever! The grounds at this resort are beautiful. 4 pools...an adult pool that is around the other side of the hotel making it very private and quiet. The activity pool, a kiddie pool and a family pool, all very clean and very nice. We had a poolfront lanai room, (nice spacious room with GREAT beds) facing the adult pool, which I would highly recommend, they have a hammock and table  [... read more]and chairs and a very short walk to the pool. This is a very quiet resort and there really isnt alot to do there if you want to party. You would need to go into town or to Cabos San Lucas. They do offer a pub crawl on certain nights. But we enjoyed the relaxing quiet atmosphere. The beach chairs are VERY far from the ocean and the sand is rocky and not so nice to walk in. BUT if you are going to Cabo you know the ocean is off limits except for certain cove areas. The food was good, not always hot at the buffet but very good in the ala cart restuarant. Victor is THE BEST EVER server and can speak perfect english. The staff are are very very friendly, never grumpy or rude. Right outside the gates of the hotel is a horse rental place. $40 for an hour on the beach ride. The horses are in great shape and Edwardo is a very friendly nice guide. Do this if you get a chance....amazing galloping in the water down the beach!! I would recommend this resort but keep in mind it is a quiet resort, I am 50 and I was one of the younger people in the crowd.

Villas Vallarta by Canto del Sol: Acommodating Resort

We stayed at Villas by Canto del Sol on an all inclusive package. It allowed us full access to Canto del Sol. The grounds were immaculate and very pretty at Canto Del Sol. The service was excellent. The employees exemplified a true sense of pride. The food was good and they are always looking for suggestions from the guests. The buffet had theme nights. The have 2 al la carte restaurants and we enjoyed both meals. We upgraded our room to a pool front at the Villas. It is an older building in nee [... read more]d of repairs. However we were happy with our room and it was cleaned daily. The pool at the Villa was much quieter for those who like that. There was never many people at this pool. There is a bar there. Overall we had a wonderful time and would definitely recommend it. We have never returned to a previous resort, however, we plan on returning here

Grand Decameron Los Cabos: Excellent vacation

Everything was neat and clean, staff were excellent, nice quiet resort to just relax. Food was excellent. Transat looked after all the details really well. Shuttles, airport help, always looked after professionally.

Crown Paradise Club Cancun: nice resort, rooms need work

Location great close to airport and awesome beach. Hotel in genral was nice... nice bars , pools, baby club, huge kids club with tons to do, big kids water slides, great pools, and restaurants. Great entertainment and kids staff, I'd have to say top notch. Kids loved them. Nice shops, lobby, theatre and shows. Lots of Specialty restaurants and a few buffets as well as the main massive buffet. A great family resort with a ton to do for kids of all ages. Also a nice area and sections for adults on [... read more]ly. But our rooms both needed work in the hotel. First room AC leaked water everywhere from the roof. Not a big deal they work hard. Our safe also quit working had to wait and get it fixed and room cards didn't work as much as they did work. Also got a good shock in the bathroom when I nicked the roof with my hand while hanging a shower towel. Then they moved us and the next room the belconly door did not lock or even close right. Not exceptable with a 2 year old in our room. But every time we had an issue they dealt with it on the spot the best they could. All and all I would go back and was more than pleased with this hotel and its staff.

Hyatt Zilara Riviera Maya: A wonderful week away!

Our trip to Secrets Capri was a wonderful experience. We were greeted by very friendly staff and were escorted to our beautiful room. We enjoyed all the restaurants during our stay and particularly liked that no reservations were needed. Our favourite spot was the Cactus Bar (a ceviche and taco bar right on the beach) Although some of the beach had been washed away due to past storms, it didn't impact our trip negatively in the least. A great quaint place to unwind.

Barcelo Ixtapa: Resort was nice. Service was great. Beach was amazing!

I thought that the hotel was nice. However, the rooms were only okay (bathrooms were tiny) and the one that were were in was very loud when a show was on. There was no resting while the party show was on. It felt like there was an upgrade charge for everything wifi, ocean view, etc. I would only stay again in the ocean view room. Although, I also heard that these rooms had a lot of noise as well. That being said we had a ton of fun the beach and in the pools. The staff were great. No  [... read more]issues there.

Grand Sirenis Mayan Beach: Great family getaway!!

Why book a snorkeling tour when you have one of the best snorkeling beaches right in front of you. This was my first time taking my 3 kids along with me to an all-inclusive resort and it was great to see how much they really enjoyed it. Great staff Great entertainment Great food Overall...great time.

Grand Oasis Sens: Perfect Vacation!!

Our trip was from December 5th to the 12th, 2016. Had a great time at the Sens, the food was amazing, especially the Sakura Sunset and the Black hole. The staff at the front desk, the servers, the entertainment crew did all they could to ensure that we were well taken care of. We stayed on the 6th floor, ocean view and was well worth the little bit more for a balcony. The perfect cappuccino from Coffee and Me while watching the sunrise every morning.... there's no words :) Always something to  [... read more]see and do, the resort is big enough to find a quiet spot after too much fun, and small enough to meet new people and make memories. I love Cancun, the transit system is easy and cheap. The restaurants, bars and markets are a great day trip and seriously the Walmart is something to experience ;) We would love to visit again and it's on our short list for next year. Who needs Cuba and the Dominican, when you can visit stunning Mexico!!
