Vary pools, excellent restaurants, duty-free shop; we recommend jewelries, gifts and trips at the resort and not from outside even if you are tempted to take the "half price" deals. It sounds too good to be good!

Dreams Royal Beach Punta Cana: Outstanding Vacation

This resort checks all the boxes! It is clean, well kept and the amenities are more than adequate. The beach is simply amazing, the pool area is fantastic and there are many activities happening throughout the day and evening if you choose to participate. Bahia Principe Escape Bouganville: A beautiful resort !

We just returned from our 7 day stay at Bouganville. The hotel and the rooms are shining and spotless, the staff is exceptionally friendly and a pleasure to talk to, we had absolutely no problems. We will go back and we would definitely recommend this resort to others. The beach has many cabanas and chairs, and lots of palm trees. Although you cannot walk for a long distance along the beach, it is very pretty, and the pool area is very nice as well. If you are looking for exceptional service and cleanliness then Bouganville is what we would recommend.

Cofresi Palm Beach and Spa Resort: Not the greatest trip..

Grounds : Buildings are lovely and numerous! The resort is absolutely huge and shuttles must be taken to get to some locations. Shuttles can sometimes take a little bit of time to come, but are fast and efficient when they are there. The resort is built on a hill, and as such, there are a tonne of stairs! From our room, which was not all that far away from the lobby, we still had to walk about 4 sets of stairs (40-50 steps). To the beach was even further. Accommodations: Rooms are okay at best. [... read more] You cannot drink the water, or use the water from the taps for anything that will be consumed - even brushing your teeth will require bottled water. The housekeeping staff will come and replenish your bottled water daily. Speaking of housekeeping - they do not knock and wait for your response. If you have not put your sliding lock on, they will barge in without a moments notice - regardless of what is going on in the room. This happened to us at least 5 times. The air conditioning goes off every day for a couple of hours around 1-3pm. Likely a money saving venture that does not inconvenience too many people - but the rooms do become quite hot very quickly. The cleanliness of the rooms is not top notch, I would not consider the rooms worthy of their 4 stars. There is black mold on many things in the bathroom - grout and toilet roll hanger to start. The housekeeping staff puts small flowers in your bathroom for your first day - throw these out immediately as by night time thousands of tiny bugs will be running around your sink. Restaurants and Bars: The buffets are very hit or miss. I lived off of chicken burgers and potato salad for the week, but there are some options that others might enjoy. I was being very safe not to get sick - and typically like to stay away from stews and soups that I cannot tell what is in them. Breakfast is okay - bacon is often gone and scrambled eggs are very watery. The a-la-carte restaurants are fantastic! My personal favourite was the Blue Lagoon - their Filet Mignon was to die for! When you first get settled in your room, an envelope will appear under your door with your three guaranteed reservations for the a-la-carte restaurants. When the day of your reservation comes, if you would like to change it, you must walk up the 45 steps to the main lobby and go to guest services, wait in line, speak with a representative, and ask to change the restaurant/time. In most cases, they cannot guarantee your changes, and will send another envelope under your door that night. Which means you have very little time to get your envelope, see your reservation, and in some cases then travel all the way across the resort to get to your meal on time. It becomes quite a hassle. The bars are okay. During the day they are plentiful, but most close at 5:00pm, leaving only the main lobby bars open. Which means that, again, you are clomping up potentially 60-70 stairs (from the beach) to get a drink. The pools are all closed at 7:00pm, but the bars beside them have been closed for two hours already by that time - it just seemed really silly. Staff: Staff were generally okay. Their moods, and helpfulness, increased greatly when there was money in your hand. I adored Pablo at the Ying Yang spa - and actually everything about the Ying Yang Spa as a whole. Beaches: Despite having many beaches, non-VIP persons are really subjected to one small beach. It is definitely not the white sands and perfect blue beach that everyone hopes for. In fact, it is very wavy, with patches of rocks. The sand is often unclean and littered. Cabanas, hammocks, and chairs are available and plentiful. The VIP beaches are much better, with clean sand and gorgeous water, but they will cost you. My biggest complaint : Would definitely have to be the constant up-sell. If you do not go to the meeting at the beginning of your trip, you will be accosted daily at breakfast by "tour guides" who would like to sell you a membership to the lifestyle resort. This membership is similar to a timeshare scam, and costs thousands of dollars. They are able to sell this because half of the resort is off limits to regular visitors, and with the membership, you are allowed access to the nicer beaches and restaurants. This on it's own definitely made the trip less enjoyable, but even once you got to the beach, there were constantly people coming up to you trying to get you to spend more money - Chukka water sports, spa services, even two men with a parrot and a camera. There was constantly someone trying to sell you something, which made relaxation difficult sometimes.

Royalton Splash Punta Cana: Excellent family resort

Everything was fantastic!! Very clean, friendly staff, fantastic service!! Food was good and lots of variety!! My favourite restaurant was " under the sea" Not one complaint , would go back in a heart beat!

Riu Bambu: great resort

beautiful beach with lots of palms trees ,the food was great snack bar ,buffet & a la carte restaurant "Japanese" & "Italian" ,very clean resort would not hesitate to go back me & my husband loved our vacation .

Bahia Principe Explore El Portillo: Paradise waits you!

This is our second time to this resort and we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves again. A wonderful place to relax and totally unwind. The beach is simply fantastic and is never ending. The water is stunning in its colour and certainly makes you want to go for a swim or just to cool off, not to mention the colourful fish that can be easily seen with or without a mask. We were very pleased with our accommodation in bldg 26, which is new. A little wd40 on the squeaky hinges would be a good idea. Plenty of room and nice size bathroom. We enjoyed all the al la carte restaurants, especially the Brazilian which was very entertaining. The staff were excellent with their service and very friendly. Grand Palladium Punta Cana: Wonderful time!

Arrived early, around 1030 am. As expected, our room was not ready. We changed and headed for the beach. Hotel was large, but surprisingly easy to get around. Nice clean rooms, great a la cartes, and no problem getting in with no reservations required. And a wonderful beach. Overall, a great week. I would recommend this hotel.

Melia Caribe Beach Resort: Melia Caribe Tropical

Beautiful, large mature property. Rooms well appointed and clean. Beach beautiful lots of activity. Pools beautiful. Lots of walking or train taking. The resort is very big. There is a lot of activities on or off resort. Restaurants were all very good. Loved that you don't have to make reservations, I hardly went to the speciality restaurant at other resorts because I didn't want to waste my vacation time with that chore. Bahia Principe Explore Esmeralda: Excellent Resort

This is the second time at this resort, we went back because we were very impressed the first time. This trip was better then the first time, and for those who have food allergies they will accommodate and the chef will at the buffet will walk you through and let you know what you can and can not eat. The Guest Services will write you a note to talk with you to the "a la carte" so that they could prepare your meal for you. The Resort is clean the pools are clean and the beach is the best.

Secrets Royal Beach: Good resort Location may be a concern for some

The hotel was OK Food was very good. People serving very good. There were two issues. Toilets will not take paper or they will not flush. Paper must be put in garbage. Second issue is weeds on beach. They are doing a lot of work to keep the beach clean of weeds but if you swim in the ocean you will be swimming among the weeds.

Bahia Principe Grand Bavaro: Amazing family vacation!

This vacation and resort was one of the best we have traveled to! There were nine of us in total from age 3 - 60 and we had a fantastic trip! We have a 3 and a 6 year old and the amenities couldn't have been better! The water park was the perfect size with 9 small-medium sized water slides. From mini golf to trampoline...to a $10 haircut for my son at the beautiful spa...Segway tours around the resort and the most friendly accommodating staff...we could not have asked for a better time! It was m [... read more]y mom's first time at an all-inclusive resort and she, along with the rest of us, were continuously amazed by the level of maintenance of the grounds, pools and beach. For such a large resort, transportation was never a problem and the menu at the main buffet and snack bars was wonderful. It was a truly wonderful vacation and we look forward to going back!!!

Secrets Royal Beach: Problems with two rooms

Compared to Secrets in Montego Bay this resort would not be more than a 3-star. Problems with toilet not flushing, air conditioning not working properly and problems with main door (was fixed ) We were moved to another room but not without toilet problems again,

Grand Palladium Palace: amazing resort

this resort/hotel/restaurant was great, friendly service,clean rooms/sidewalks/pools/beaches bed were comfortable, easy access to other resorts, nice little stores,lots of excursion opportunity. the grounds, food and entertainment are fantastic. the view of the sunset is breath taking. the staff are friendly. highly recommended. on the down side, internet service, gym and air condition in the room are very poor

Casa Marina Sosua Trademark by Wyndham All Inclusive: Nice Resort

The rooms were nice, very clean, no bugs. All pools were clean & in good shape. Had activities during the day at the pools. Grounds were lovely, the ocean crashing on the rocks were spectacular, 3 Jacuzzis, hammocks available. Food at the buffets was good & plentiful, always something to eat. The Seafood, Mexican & Italian restaurants were not too bad. All the staff were friendly, helpful & pleasant. The location was great, out the front of the lobby, you are in the downtown area. Bahia Principe Grand Bavaro: A Few Disappointments

For returning for the third time I was somewhat disappointed with the housekeeping service, cleaning my own room. I know they are busy but we pay for the service. There was alot of seaweed in the water for 3-4 days but that they cannot control, the water was still beautiful. We always stayed in the Punta Cana section, Golden Club...this time we stayed in the Bavaro, club diamond section. We always had great housekeeping service in the past, this will not keep us away because we love the beach.

Occidental Caribe: nice resort, too many springbreakers

This was a well kept and clean resort. The staff was awesome, always there to help. Food was awesome with lots of variety. If you go to the casino avoid the scam with the free chips at the entrance. Spring breakers took over pool every day open to close (and some never got out) I really enjoy the swim up but choose to stay out of this one. Beautiful pools just don't like swimming in.....
