VH Gran Ventana Beach Resort: Perfect Holiday

Third visit and it is better than ever. Food, beach, pools, rooms excellent. Especially enjoyed the managers dinner for returning guests. Lots of activities as well as quiet spots. Great for all ages.Will be back again!

Cofresi Palm Beach and Spa Resort: Fantastic Vacation Spot

The Cofresi resort is set between the ocean and the mountains providing a panoramic breathtaking view of both. The romantic scenery of the villas between the palm trees and floral gardens set on a hillside is truly memorable. The many different types of pools provided areas for different groupings of people - for families and adults. The accommodations were clean and well kept each day with fresh linens, towels and lots of bottled water and a mini fridge for your personal use. They included shower gels, shampoos, conditioners, sewing kits, combs, etc. We were quite impressed as we had been to other resorts that didn't provide these things. Beautiful balcony with comfortable furnishings overlooking this tropical paradise. The staffs' motto was "we are here to serve you" they were friendly and polite and did whatever they could to make your vacation comfortable. There were 9 of us who travelled on the trip and we all had a wonderful time. They made sure that my friends and I were able to enjoy the al la cart dining opportunities as a group. The food was fantastic! We enjoyed Asian, Italian, and Mexican cuisine with an endless supply of fantastic wine and margaritas. The buffets were also top notch with fresh cooked omelets, pancakes, bacon, etc every morning made to order. I truly enjoyed the trip it was truly a great vacation.

Riu Bambu: Not a fan!

We arrived on March 20th, and found the resort packed and the service not even close to anything rated a 4 or greater. It could have been the week we chose, as it was packed with spring break students. Not much room to maneuver around pool area. The beach has a lot of chairs but again, a far distance to get a drink. The palace is hands down a huge upgrade with much more selection, service, and amenities. Plus, the crowd was a nice variety and definitely not nearly as busy.

Catalonia Bavaro Resort: Great natural beauty

This was our first time in the Dominican Republic and found the beaches exceptional, pool very good, grounds very nice, buffet acceptable with lots of variety, al la cartes were good with the Japenese and Italian being the tops, and overall service was average. The golf courses were a nice bonus and green fees were included at no cost. I only had to pay for the cart rental which is reasonable. Overall the facility was quite nice except for the overwhelming smell of raw sewage and rooms that are due for updating but clean. The biggest downside to the who property and experience is the pressure from the salesmen when leaving the buffet to try to sell you a membership to the their Club. I would recommend this property if you are a golfer and get it at a good price. This place deserves a solid 3 star rating because of the golf, natural beauty, grounds, and beaches and I would recommend it as a middle-of-the-road property.

Cofresi Palm Beach and Spa Resort: Relaxing

Some parts were a solid 3.5 while others were 4. I enjoyed the resort for relaxing and down time while the party option was also available. Bar service was sub par but buffet was great, and other staff friendly.

Iberostar Waves Costa Dorada: EXCELLENT

Very nice vacation, all was very clean and comfortable. I would, and did recommed this resort to my friends. The beach is great, food was as good as I expected from an all inclusive resort, pool area was very nice and lots of excitement. The nightly shows are well worth watching too.

Bahia Principe Grand San Juan: Perfect escape from the snow!

We wanted to get away from the snow and sit on a beach; the firm beds and good food were a bonus! We were very happy with the resort minus the water pressure in the showers and the evening entertainment.

Sunscape Puerto Plata: Amazing Resort

My husband and my third trip to the Barcelo Resort Puerto Plata. We love the people, entertainment, food, the well kept grounds and beautiful beach. Every visit has provided a new experience and unforgettable memories.

Bahia Principe Grand Bavaro: Nice resort

The ocean had a ton of seaweed which they tried to keep cleaned up but it was around you when you swam :( Pools were great. There were BUGS. We all had numerous bug bites so make sure you take lots of bug spray. Very friendly staff. Bathrooms are a bit outdated. Rooms are nice. Food was good.

Riu Merengue: Nice resort for the price

Stayed for a week with my family. (March break 2015) Kids aged 9 & 14. It is a nice family resort but not alot of activities, especially for my 14 yr old. The grounds were very lush and well maintained and the staff friendly. The rooms were clean but very dated. There are 2 sections - the Village and Garden. I would suggest the Village section - if travelling with children. The pool area is quiet and not over crowded. We walked over to the Garden section and the pool there was VERY busy and crow [... read more]ded. The beach was nice, but due to the rough waters, you can not see the bottom. Which is a little unnerving when "things" brush by your leg. :) Selection of food was good. A little bland, but enough choices to keep us happy. Since this was our 1st visit to DR, it's hard to compare. Put it this way, I would go back, but I would try a few other places before I do. Just a note: Obviously this has nothing to do with the resort - for the 7 days - it would rain for 30 min in the morning and the same at night. Not sure if it's due to the mountains surrounding the area - but thought it worth mentioning.

Ocean Blue and Sand: Ocean blue and sand Resort; punta cana

(grounds, public areas, rooms, dining, features, etc.)I travelled with my husband and two other couples and we all enjoyed our stay at this resort; I would recommend it to anyone! We had a 250.00 resort credit; but you need to book the service offered in the coupon and put it towards your balance; ;you can't just use it for what you wish. We did have to call twice to have our fridge restocked as this was to be done daily; but that isn't a big issue for me to give a bad rating. Beach is nice; bit of seaweed; but nothing to stop me from loving the beach; the employees worked hard to keep it off the beach. Loved the beach buffet also; and beach burgers are very tasty!!! Entertainment staff worked very hard every opportunity to keep customers entertained!!!

Marien Puerto Plata Hotel: overall " Great Place "

Beautiful Resort , no major issues . Clean , friendly staff , lots to eat and drink. Beautiful pool and beach . Could have been more variety to choose from at the dinner buffet and some delays when checking in . Great vacation , would recommend.

Bahia Principe Escape Bouganville: Amazing holiday

This resort is amazing in every way. Hotel is very clean, grounds amazing and well kept, the pool is beautiful, the food is delicious, the entire staff was beyond friendly, room very cozy and well cleaned everyday. Service is out of this world and would go back for sure.

Occidental Punta Cana: Terrible

Bathroom was in need of renovations badly. Smoke smell always in our room. Cocktails all to sweet. Staff at front desk, not helpful or friendly. Pool was clean, and waiters at pool bar very friendly..

Occidental Caribe: Good Value Last Minute Trip

Grounds were lovely and well maintained. People were friendly, polite and helpful. Room was a little dated but fine. Buffet food was good, however, a la carte was spectacular. Has by far the best strip of beach in the vacinity. Evening entertainment was OK. Sometimes certain drinks were difficult to obtain. Good cross section of age groups selected this location.

Sunscape Dominicus La Romana: Nice Resort

Room and Grounds were very clean. Beautiful Beach. Food was great. A big variety. Something for everyone. Service was slow. Room was not ready at 3.00. no free WiFi, no free safe in Room. The carges for both was way too high.

Occidental Caribe: Best resort in Punta Cana!

The grounds are heaven; the layout was fantastic; the food was tasty. I would have liked more music on the patio at nights. It can get boring at times. The water was rough; maybe because it was March.

Barcelo Bavaro Beach: Beautiful Bavaro Barcelo

Barcelo Bavaro Adults only was a beautiful resort. Very clean, gorgeous grounds, the best beach. The bartenders are very generous with the booze and good quality liquor too. The Caribe lunch buffet wasn't great but the LaBrisa lunch was much better - chicken, grilled fish, grilled vegetables, fresh pasta, lots of salads. Most of the dinners were good, not great but the food is different in the Dominican. Chez Gourmet (chateaubriand) and LaBrisa (veal) were good for dinner. There is no beach serv [... read more]ice for drinks but there was around the pool. On the flip side, the room was very musty,(but clean) we got used to it eventually. The bathroom shower is small but the water pressure is great and the water hot. There were ALOT of smokers here so I was constantly moving away to get out of the second hand smoke. I really think they should have some areas smoke free (especially the cigars were stinky).

Breathless Punta Cana Resort: First time there and will definitely return!!

We have been to many resorts in Punta Cana and this is one of the best ones we have stayed at. The service we received was beyond exceptional. The XHALE club delivered everything we could have asked for from premium drinks, a separate dining space for breakfast and lunch as well as exceptional service. The swim up room was very well appointed and had sun exposure from early morning to early evening, which is exactly what we had requested. Our favorite restaurants were Coquette (French), the Culinaria (Mediterranean) as well as the Lebanese. We also made great use of the gym, which had more treadmills then I have seen at a resort in a long time. Even during peak hours at the gym, I never had to wait for a treadmill. We also used the spa several times during our stay and have nothing but great things to say about the staff and the services we received. This is definitely a resort I would return to in the future!!!!

Cofresi Palm Beach and Spa Resort: stairs

This hotel is not for older people or people with mobility problems .Too many steps . the food was great .Service was wonderful. entertainment was awesome. The dancers were so full of energy .If there weren't so many steps everywhere it would have been wonderful. I was tired out just getting from one place to another .The Sunday night party was great .Lots of food and entertainment.
