Bahia Principe Explore Jamaica: Disappointing trip

We just came back from grand Bahia principe I Jamaica on July 1st This is our third time in Jamaica and our third time to Bahia principe( previously in Mexico and Dominican) Unfortunately we didn’t get the trip we hoped for comparing to both the destination and the resort The service was extremely bad. Most of the employees don’t even look at or ask you about what you need sometimes we waited for over 40 minutes to get scup of milk for my little daughter. Changing the plates wasn’t e [... read more]ven an option except with one or two waiters The food wasn’t as expected. You almost can’t find anything to eat besides the grilled chicken and the pasta. A lot of the food tasted so fishy and strong. The bread was almost always stale and barely enough fruits for the guests. The cold cutes didn’t even look good to try Even though the a La carte restaurants were really good The beach was nice as usual In Jamaica The rooms were clean enough but we always had one towel less than what we needed even tough it was requested from the cleaning lady The security and life guards did a great job doing their jobs properly and keeping kids and parents happy The staff wasn’t that friendly as usual

Bahia Principe Explore Esmeralda: THIS IS NOT A 5 STAR HOTEL... 3 stars at best.

THIS IS NOT A 5 STAR HOTEL... 3 stars at best. Building 91 at the Bahia Principe "Luxury Esmeralda" was the worst 5 star hotel I have ever been to. We were a group of 9 people (with 5 rooms, 4 that were in building 91) and we all have a bad taste in our mouth & were ecstatic the leave on our last day. ( Which is never the case , even when I couldn't afford 5 star hotels in my younger days ) I was at the Royalton Punta Cana in Jan 2022.. That is a true 5 star hotel!!! We walked into our ro [... read more]oms, they all smelled like mold. Some worse than others... In our room, there was dust & hair EVERYWHERE. We spoke to our Air Canada Rep the next morning & he called for a "deep cleaning" which never got done. I complained a second time once we took our first shower the 2nd evening & the shower head was completely rusted as water was dripping. Already the pressure wasn't great after the shower head was changed. We further wiped down around the toilet bowl & found dust & hair that had accumulated for MONTHS... I complained a second time, now to the front desk & the head butler came to the room after I showed the tissue we used to clean around the toilet which was full of dust and hair. They ordered a 2nd "deep cleaning" which never got done. DISGUSTING and what a waste of my time & money. I would have to ask the maid EVERYDAY for something that was missing in the room after they would clean & I would still leave more tip than my other friends did in another building and we got horrible service. I think towels, water and toilet paper should never need asking for. Furthermore, service from the waiters at all the restaurants was unorganized. We would order WATER and beverages & EVERYDAY at least once per day the beverages would never arrive or arrive once we were finished eating. I'm sorry but water should be served instantaneously... I never complain but this hotel in rundown and was left to rot. And the service was unorganized in the buildings as well as the restaurants. THIS IS NOT A 5 STAR HOTEL... 3 stars at best.

Bahia Principe Explore Punta Cana: Amazing Resort as usual. As you know, our family has been going to the Bahia Principe resort for many years now and enjoy it each time we go to it.

The grounds have been upgraded since I've been there over 10 years ago. Love the cleanliness, the staff and the good service. As for covid, all the staff wore masks. Did not see many guests wearing any masks. They did have sanitizer everywhere but the crowds were often all together side by side wherever we went. It is up to the client to wear their masks if they want too. Bahia Principe Explore Esmeralda: Not bad

Overall fine but it no longer feels like a 5 star. Generally slow to get water in the buffets. Changed room once because of water leaking from the ceiling. A few days later the A/C was leaking in the new room. They seemed to fix the problem but there was always a weird smell in the room. The entertainment staff were the highlight of the trip.

Bahia Principe Explore Jamaica: Great family vacation resort

Older building with some areas needing better maintenance but quite comfortable. The room is large and has good air flow. Food is not quite 4-star plus but variety is amazing. This place definitely has something for everyone. Pools and children play pools are great. We North American probably be a little nervous about the water slides for kids. These slides are too fast for both my kid and my hubby. Overall is good. Recommended.

Bahia Principe Explore El Portillo: The ultimate in incompetence

Room not verified before rental, shower head didn't work and hand held shower in bathtub also broken. AC didn't blow strong enough to cool the room (AC system antique) and the bed was hard as rock (flintstone era). Only the shower head was fixed, the rest wasn't properly addressed to my liking. Wait time for lunch and dinner lineups was up to 30 mins, but most of the time was 8-12 mins. Shows were very poor, always for kids and very few, if any, were good for adults. Excellent for people (like my wife) who can't swim, you can go out 50 feet and it's at mid section height and this was for kms everywhere on both sides of the resort. Kite sufing 5 mins away. Pool was full on weekends since they rent rooms to the locals. Service on weekends is horrendous since they increase the room rentals to locals but don't increase the staff. Beach bar service could take up to 1/2 hr. No where to sit on the beach on weekends. Staff have a hard time to understand plain english except for Lidia who was very helpful. If your a privilege menber of any sort, you will be equally ignored like everybody else. I feel generous today and will give a 2/12 star rating. Definitely not a 5 star. Paid $1449 for a superior jurior suite in first class (still too expensive for what is was worth) CAD with Air Canada from Montreal. Unless you have very little money, DON'T GO THERE!!!!!

Bahia Principe Explore La Romana: Nice resort

This is a typical Bahia Principe Hotel. Large cozy green area, chic lobby, qualified service, good entertainment and quality food. We liked sandy beach. Ocean water was not clear because the river flows near the hotel, but we went swimming in another place not so far. The main bonus is that we didn't have seaweed as often happens in Punta Cana.

Room were good but so many mosquitoes in the room and coridoor trying to book ala cart restaurant but you can’t get booking all booked but food in cafeteria was good good customer service and good food nice room service

Bahia Principe Explore Esmeralda: Exceptional Resort

This resort is very focused on client satisfaction. They "go over board" to ensure that you are satisfied every day. If you have any concerns, they would immediately resolve the matter to your satisfaction. The entire resort including rooms, grounds and restaurants are exceptionally clean. The food selection and quality is the very best that we have seen. Drinks are quality liquors. Every staff is focused on you the guest. The entertainment is very good but I would suggest that they have more " [... read more]English" music because many of the guests are from English speaking countries. The Singers and Musicians were very good and work hard to entertain all guests. The staff are all wearing masks and continually clean all surfaces that are touched by guests. It is a very large resort with the exchange program to the other hotels so having the Golf Cart Shuttles is an excellent idea. Tipping is not necessary but certainly appreciated by all staff. The beach is beautiful and there is an abundance of loungers for everyone.

Bahia Principe Explore Legend: Would not recommend

I was unhappy with my 1 week stay. It was very hard to communicate with any of the staff due to language barrier which made it very difficult. Food is very repetitive and they would run out of many things. When asked for more they would say it’s all done. The line ups for anything that was being made fresh such as pasta or eggs in the morning would take forever. I did not enjoy my stay.

Bahia Principe Explore Punta Cana: Beautiful Resort

WE stayed at Bahia for 7 nights with our family friends in the the next room to us. It was wonderful experience! The resort's atmosphere is welcoming and inviting. Family friendly areas of the pools, restaurants. Employees are very friendly and trying there best to be helpful and efficient. It's very clean, well maintained resort. Foods variety at the buffet is great and fresh. The resort has been full, but it didn't affect the cleanness and comfort. They take every step to make it safe, disinf [... read more]ect public common areas, have personal sanitizing supply available for use every where it meant to be. The beach is big and beautiful. The only thing is seaweed accumulation should be maintained more efficiently. We loved our vacation at Bahia and have wonderful memories!

Bahia Principe Explore Legend: Great Resort

This hotel is a wonderful place to take the children,my granddaughter loved it.The food was absolutely amazing,we mostly ate in the buffet restaurant because it had more variety than anyone could ask for,there were boiled eggs,poached eggs,scrambled eggs,eggs benedict,bacon ,ham ,sausage,french toast,real syrup,real honey from an actual honey comb.The breakfast had everything anyone could ask for,fresh made ommelets,bagels,cream cheese,etc.Lunch and supper were the same large choices,sea food ,c [... read more]rab legs,fish,shrimp,pork chops ,ribs beef,frenchfries,etc.I could go on and on,this hotel has it all,even pizza fresh made by the water park,ice cream cones all day long for the children.Pool areas were well cleaned,rooms were a little noisy,the halls with people closing doors at all hours of the night.If you have a castle view,the shows are noisy around 9:45 for about 15 minutes,if you are not in bed early it is no problem.All in all,we had a fantastic time,we would return.Also I had the spa treatment at the Esmerelda next door with Anita,it was the deep massage,it was fabulous,well worth the money,she did an amazing massage. Bahia Principe Explore Tulum: Wow, beautiful!

I thoroughly enjoyed the design. The resort is clean and comfortable. The staff is helpful and accomodating. The food is well prepared and consistently good in the buffet restaurants. We enjoyed the Peruvian / Japanese restaurant as well. Thoughtfully prepared meal. The pools are clean. We enjoyed the ocean only a little because the seaweed and surf were rough but that is just nature. The resort had crews doing their best to contend with the seaweed!

Bahia Principe Explore Jamaica: Noticeably not the same

We have been to this resort 3 times and this time the food quality was very very poor, the service was also not what it used to be . Called several times with no answer and then waited for 2 days for things we needed . We even tried the upgrade to luxury side and moved back the next day as it was not worth the money at all. Also the resort was not full but yet they would not accommodate getting us a room with 2 beds , so I had to sleep on a very uncomfortable rollaway and end up on the couch a [... read more]ll week. Bahia Principe Escape Aquamarine: Amazing!!

Hotel was great, the food the animations ( Walter and Eddy) just amazing!!! the service (Mayra)She was our waitress awesome and our bartender served our drinks (Alexander) super nice. Can't wait to go back had an amazing time 😊😊😊

I was very welcome and Base on covid they were all followed the saty protocols in other to keep everyone safe ,I don't mind going back or advice my friends to go the sea was not clean at all but I managed I enjoyed it

Bahia Principe Explore Jamaica: Resort good but can use some upgrading

Overall experience was good. Needs some upgrades which has started. From the time me and my husband got to the hotel, sales rep was behind you to purchase excursions or go to their presentation. We book excursions for Doom buggy for 2 ppl seeing I wanted to be with my husband together, The representative (Kenny) in the hotel lobby sold us that( so he said) The day of excursion, we were taken to’ Chukka’ when it should be ‘Yeamann’ Chukka did not had doom buggy’s period and ATV was onl [... read more]y for 1 person so me and my husband had to drive separately, which was our concern. Then we were not told that you needed close toe shoe for event, so my husband had to buy another shoe there seeing he was wearing an open toe sandals. Once we got back to the hotel, Kenny was always not available, we finally got hold of another rep, even they were not able to get hold of Kenny. Our trip ended, we came back home and still did not get an answer. We found out these rep’s do not work for the hotel, they’re from outside that works on Comission . The hotel needs to crack down on these behaviours so they don’t ruin their reputation

This trip was incredible!! The staff, the food, the pools, the entertainment, the rooms…. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ We are already planning our next trip back. We loved everything about this resort! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ I would recommend this to everyone!

Bahia Principe Escape Ambar: Paradise

We just returned from 8 glorious days at the Luxury Ambar, our second home. We travelled June 5th-13th We have been to this resort a minimum of 20+ times and are booked again for November 2022 for 15 days. We keep returning because we absolutely love it. We celebrated our 32nd wedding anniversary and they made it so special for us. The resort is spotlessly clean, They are constantly wiping and sanitizing furniture and the staff wear masks all day long in that heat. They are doing a great job with the covid protocols. I felt safe at the resort. I would strongly suggest this hotel to family and friends all day long!!! Can't wait to go back!

Bahia Principe Escape Runaway Bay: Mix feelings

We didn't have the best time, specially the service. The rooms had issues, my parents room had a leak, twice. They couldn't fix it, and its hard to ask 80 years olds to move and change rooms all the time. The people are great but the spanish managment are fully taking advantage of the situation. the hotel need to be renovated, the AC system is old, the air does not seem clean. Why should not a 5 star hotel have two options? the owner is milking the people. The best part of Jamaica was the Jamaican people. Hotel food and resrutants also have poor service.
