Playa Cayo Santa Maria: Great Place To Unwind

The Grounds were well kept , The service and wait staff performed thier jobs with enthusiam and professionalism. The beaches at Cayo Santa Maria Are Some of the best on the planet. The food was Good as were the drinks. Anyone who books here ,other than the most unforgiving, will certainly enjoy their stay in this Wonderful Resort. Hats off to all the hard working Cuban people for making everyones stay an Absolute Delight. Buy your Alcohol and trinkets at the resorts. Melia Cayo Santa Maria: Simply the best

This hotel is fantastic. I've been to multiple hotels throughout Cuba but this is the first one I've been to more then once. The beach is incredible, the pool and grounds are always clean. But what sets this hotel apart from every other one is the staff. They are simply the very best group of people and I'm proud to call them my friends. Yoandry, Yoseet & Luis at the new beach bar are the absolute very best of the best & make the best drinks on the resort and best lunch BBQ, they will even serve you right on the beach. Juan Carlos, Yasin, Ernesto are always wonderful when you are at the lobby bar. Osbiel & Alfredo will always keep you well stocked by the pool. Marlon & Gennry are wonderful at the snack bar & will keep you fed & unthirsty 24hrs a day even at 4am with a warm smile on their faces. Victor in client relations is absolutely amazing and is always concerned & willing to help whenever he can to make sure everything is going well with your stay. And last but not least the entertainment team is incredible. Yoanny, Filipe, Nayibi, Alex, Darbel, Daniel, Ernesto & Mikael. They will have you entertained the entire week either Tai Chi, volleyball or dance lessons on the beach. WaterPolo, aqua aerobics, dance lessons by the pool and just dj and dancing after the evening entertainment show. Mikeals mad violin skills are a definite not to be missed. The only thing I have to complain about is the airport is too far away from the resort and that February is too far away for my 3rd trip back to this resort this year.

Playa Cayo Santa Maria: Best Resort in Santa Maria

The Playa Caya Santa Maria is an outstanding resort in Santa Maria. We have stayed at several throughout Cuba and this one is Absolutely the BEST. The resort is self is stunningly Beautiful the grounds are Pristine and very well maintained. The Staff are the most courteous. The foods are also very good. The Beach there is Gorgeous. Absolutely Love everything about The Playa Caya Santa Maria

Iberostar Selection Ensenachos: Fantastic Resort - Will be back!

Rooms were exceptionally clean, the grounds were beautifully manicured, the public washrooms were fully functional and very clean. The beach was very clean and lots of shade areas if you needed it. The staff were very attentive and always eager to please. Even though there is no night entertainment (theatre) they did provide great house bands in the lobby bar every night as well as a fashion show and an aquatic show in the pool area. Will definitely return.

Melia Las Dunas: Fabulous resort

The resort is overall fabulous. The staff is second to know. The lobby bar staff although busy, always aim to please! The buffet staff are exceptional! Once they meet you, the greet you every time you walk in the door with a wonderful smile and fabulous service. The food this time was not as expected, but there was still a variety overall. The beach is spectacular. This resort was recommended by a co-worker. We will definitely be back to this resort!

Valentin Perla Blanca: Another great experience!

This is my second time at the Valentin Perla Blanca and it was great once again. The staff were friendly and accommodating. They make you feel like you're part of the family. Treat them right and they will treat you like royalty. The food was above average for Cuba. Occasionally they would run out of buns or pizza at the snack bar but you still had lots of other choices. It is clean, well maintained and the water is super clear and warm. Pools were always kept clean with plenty of chairs. Cons Bring bug spray as there are mosquitoes and sand fleas. This is throughout all of Cuba or any exotic coast and definitely not a negative towards the resort. I was a buffet to them buggers but they did not affect my partner or other guests. Beds are quite firm and pillows are thin and again typical for Cuban comfort. Just ask for more pillows or bring your own. Would I return? ABSOLUTELY 100%.

Dhawa Cayo Santa Maria: Good Resort

The Resort was a nice, well laid out and the staff were friendly. The food could have been better. Would have been nice to have some potatoes. Room was clean and the cleaning staff were exceptional. The entertainment was excellent some of the best dancers I have seen on vacation. The Bus ride was a little long however it was a nice relaxing scenic ride. The pool waiters and waitresses made their rounds often and it was nice to have that service.

Sanctuary at Grand Memories Santa Maria: Excellent Resort

The rooms are very nice, the grounds and beach are truly beautiful. Stunning aqua blue water. People are very helpful, friendly and nice and the butler service is great. It was nice to have access to the other resorts as well.

Sanctuary at Grand Memories Santa Maria: Started off rocky

Just returned from Sanctuary Grand Memories. The flight over and the bus connection to the resort ran smoothly. Once at the resort, about 3pm,we were taken to the Sanctuary lobby for check in and brought to our room in building #57. Room was not ready so we went to the beach area looking for snacks and had the last 2 hamburgers at the snack bar. No other food was available. Returned to the room to find everyone gone. Room is tired, no toilet paper, loose toilet seat, shower faucet came apart tha [... read more]t I managed to repair, etc.. We went to the lobby to speak to a representative and he noted our concerns. Nothing was done. Called main lobby 3 times to get toilet paper. No one came. I had to get some from the main lobby bathroom. No butler for 2 days. Finally on day 3 a butler did show up and some of our concerns were finally resolved. Service throughout the resort is quite poor. Main buffet at Grand memories is a zoo at dinner time, TOO many people. The insect bites were abundant. The staff smogged the premises twice at 6 pm when people were going out for drinks and dinner. Bad timing. Now the good: Beaches were perfect. perfect swimming. You have to get up early to find palapas. Weather was perfect. Pool at the Sanctuary had lots of loungers, clean, good bartenders, not overly busy, and near towel exchange, ping pong, pool table, etc.. Food is OK. Entertainment at the main lobby was quite good. .

Gran Muthu Cayo Santa Maria: Amazinggg

The resort was beautiful. The food also was delicious. Clean pool and beach 10/10. Service was excellent. Lobby lounge was fun to spend the night there having a drink. And listing to the music I would give them 5 stars

Valentin Perla Blanca: Rejuvenating, as well as relaxing!

This was not our first time at Valentin Perla Blanca. In fact, it had only been 7 months since. Whew, where to begin! :) We love this resort because their staff is second to none. As far as resorts go, the food is good and the variety is quite reasonable. There was a time or two when traditionally sliced bread was unavailable for that meal but there was always an alternative ie: ciabatta buns and/or cheese buns. During the day there were all kinds of activities to avail of including billiards, board, card, and other various games, work-outs, yoga, etc. At night there are dance shows, magic shows, beach parties, fashion shows, and much more! There were certain aspects/experiences of the resort that almost resembled that of being on a cruise. It was easy to get lost in the moment! :) I cannot encourage you enough to get a massage while you're there! You will not regret it! WOW If anyone gets lonely for their pets at home, the resort has its own resident outdoor cats. I even saw two timid dogs. The cats will let you pet them if you really coax them. If I were to make a suggestion it would be this: -Ensure that the footlights along the outside walkways are working at all times. -Add brown gravy to your menu. -Ensure that each room has hot water at all times. The staff of the Valentin make you feel like you are Royalty! We will be back again within a year!

Grand Memories Santa Maria: Trip from hell

My husband and I visited this hotel for the first time in 2012. We fell in love with resort and it really set the bar high for all of our Cuba vacations and so we decided to go there again with our kids 8 years later. I call this the trip from hell for several reasons. The first being there is a major safety issue at this hotel. If you chose to visit this hotel, I recommend you pack a flash light or two as the stairway and hallways are not always lit up in the evening. The pathways on the resort [... read more] grounds are also very dark. The second safety issue is the septic tanks and manholes. You will find some of the septic tanks and manholes do not always have their covers on. In fact, some of the covers are removed and placed right next to a big open hole. My son had the misfortune of falling into a septic sewage due to the manhole cover being removed. His curiosity with the lizards got the best of him and he wasn’t paying attention to his steps, one step backward and he fell right into raw sewage! When I addressed the manager, he took it quite seriously but I’m still not happy with this as it could have been prevented had they used proper procedures. Another issue I have with the hotel is the cross contamination of foods. When I went to the buffet and the pizza making station, the cooks would often use the same plate and spoon to pick up and place your toppings for fresh pasta or pizza. Being a vegetarian, I would get disgusted with having my food come into contact with meat. The hotel guests also use the same serving spoons to pick up cheese and cold cuts or rice and beef stew.. I had to tell a hotel guest that a vegan or vegetarian person doesn’t like this practice. I would also like to mention that there are a lot of cockroaches in the buffet. You will see them crawling on the walls behind the meat and pasta stations, crawling on the buffet area where your food is.. I was disgusted and didn’t eat much for a week. We paid for an ocean suite and when we got there, it was a standard suite and very dirty. Once we complained and got the ocean view, there was a huge difference. These rooms are updated and more clean. Getting a hot shower at peek times won’t happen so be sure to shower before 4pm if you want hot water. The only thing this hotel has going for them in nice staff and a gorgeous beach.

Valentin Perla Blanca: Loved it

We had absolutely no complaints about our stay at Valentin Perla Blanca. We were a little nervous because of some of the reviews we read but we had no issues. The drive from the airport to the resort was great, you get to see some of the Cuban countryside and how they really live. Check in was quick and we were able to get into our room when we arrived at 1:30pm. The resort itself was very clean as well as the rooms. We enjoyed the food at the buffet each day, never had any issues with flavour o [... read more]r variety and they always had plenty of sauces to choose from if you wished. We didn’t spend much time at the pool as we went to this resort because of the beaches but the pools looked beautiful. The beaches were perfect and service on the beach was amazing. Overall we have no complaints and only one suggestion to future guests: book your a la carte meals the day you get there if you can or the next day. We waited a few days in to book them and were only able to use 2/3 as the restaurants were booked by the time we tried to make reservations. Otherwise, no issues whatsoever. We will be going back!

Valentin Perla Blanca: Love the resort

Unfortunately , I could not enjoy it as the passenger on the plane next to me had a terrible cold and cough, as I have no immune system I came down with it and turned to pneumonia Also SunWing says to not consume your own alcohol on the plane , this guy drank large bottle of Harvey s Bristol crime and then opened another The resort have been to before Quiet , very clean Great staff

Sanctuary at Grand Memories Santa Maria: Awesome resort!

My boyfriend and I really enjoyed our relaxing vacation at the Sanctuary. We had a big beautiful room with a king size comfortable bed, spend some days drinking, swimming and tanning by the pool, spent the others hanging out at the beautiful beach with clear waters, non-stop drinks and burger grill right there. I have no idea why people have negative things to say about Cuban food; this was not our experience. The lunch and breakfast buffets exceeded our expectations! We also really enjoyed our romantic dinners. We never left hungry or food on our plates. After a few drinks we also had the option of late night pizza and fries to bring to our rooms. I would highly recommend this resort if you're looking for a nice peaceful, relaxing vacation. Not exactly the best place for single people looking to hook-up though. Also, never beats the Cuban staff; so friendly, helpful, funny. After going here I would never go back to Mexico again.

Hotel Roc Casa del Mar: Great food

The food was amazing! Staff was great! Only 1 option for 24 hr food, if youre hungry. Had to chase down for bottles of water in the rooms. Beach was nice. More of a relaxing resort, not recommended if you want to party at all. Would definitely go back to Cuba, trying a different reaort next time.

Hotel Roc Casa del Mar: Beautiful Beach

The good: The beach was stunning. Beach chairs were hard to find most days but luckily I brought our own. The staff amazing. Pool bar staff were incredible and snack bar staff were lovely too. The bad: food was the worst I have ever had in Cuba. Weekend maids did nothing but hide in corners on their phones. No towels. And I got a chemical burn from the pool. Beach bar was run by mostly women which is fantastic. Used to only be men who could bar tend in Cuba. However they were also on their pho [... read more]nes too much and rude when you wanted a drink. Mikes cafe had amazing coffee but most staff there acted like you were bothering them until you gave attitude back. Bus ride was way too long and they offered too many beer to the young kids on the bus, causing us to stop for “pee” breaks several times. I won’t be back.

Playa Cayo Santa Maria: Best Vacation Getaway!

Amazing resort, nice and friendly staff that make you feel welcomed. Cozy and comfortable lobby (open 24 hours) to hang out and have awesome selection of drinks.. Great food at buffet, and a snack bar (also opened 24 hours) with anything from burgers to pizza. Not to mention the amazing pools and clear blue beach!! I will definitely be going back! 5 stars!! *****

Gran Muthu Cayo Santa Maria: What a Lovely Experience!

We were able to walk the length of this Resort twice each day after meals for exercise. Exceedingly pleasant and helpful staff,:from Janitors to Managers. Clean beaches & spacious (I do not use public pools). Rooms are well kept, although we killed a few small roaches (cucarachas).But I did not report it. Management could be more pro-active in the information category: 1) Provide written info in each Apt./Room (Habitación), e.g.: Tel #s to dial for Reception, Office, etc. I usually visit [... read more] each destination only once, so as to be able to experience as many as possible. Now Be Live Collection has changed that for me. I want more of it. On the day of our return home (Dec.3rd), we've convinced our grand-daughters and their mom to have their vacation at Be Live, Collection Cayo Santa Maria, in January, 2020. I also will be returning later in 2020 with two other couples..
