Bahia Principe Escape Sian Ka'an: Perfect Trip

This is our 4th time at Bahia Sian Ka'an. Happy to see Carlos (bartender), Rigo and Simone (activity staff at pool). Pools: we prefer the activity pool and enjoyed the days we spent there. Food: so many options to eat. We were never hungry and loved everything we had. Room: modern, clean and fridge restocked everyday. We spent a couple days at Akumal resort and by the ocean. This is also a beautiful resort. We will be retuning soon. Thank you!

Bahia Principe Escape Sian Ka'an: Luxury relaxation!

We enjoyed a fantastic time at Bahia Principe Sian Ka'an! The resort, food and service were amazing. We also thoroughly enjoyed the entertainment and the peace and quiet being a bit removed from the rest of the complex, while still enjoying all the amenities. We would love to come back anytime!

Grand Palladium Kantenah: Great vacation

We just returned from our first trip in Mexico. The Grand Pallidium Kantenah was a great way to spend our first week in Mexico. We stayed in a Junior Suite and were quite surprised with the size of the room. Room was always cleaned and fridge was restocked every day Staff were always friendly ready to help with anything. Always lo [... read more]ts of food never running out and and always clean and appetizing looking dishes. Pools always clean and always lots of chairs available. Very comfortable chair. Honestly there is only one complaint I can think of. Every morning we went for breakfast the waiter/waitress brought coffee and every morning they then had to go looking for spoons cause they set the tables with knifes and forks only. Management if you read this please save your staff all that running around looking for spoons so they can better serve their tables,and put the spoons on every table. This seems like a minor thing but it's crazy when every morning you need to ask for a soon for your coffee. Loved every minutes of our vacation and are planning a return next year. Grand Palladium Vallarta: Fine, not awesome

This is the second time we have visited GPV, the first being about 5 years ago and this most recent from Nov. 27 - Dec. 4, 2016. We did not stay at the Royal side, although we contemplated it. For us, it's not really worth the extra cost because we don't care about the rooms that much, just the beach. For some, the cost might be worth it. This resort has a lot of kids. We don't have kids, but we stayed at the beach mostly or the adult pool. But, there are kids all over the place in the buf [... read more]fet or restaurant and so many at the main pool. The rooms are entirely adequate for the 4 star rating of this hotel. The beach is good, but note there are some rocks which can cut feet. The water is turbulent, not good for snorkelling and probably not that great if you aren't a decent swimmer. But it is good for body boarding and there is a big surfing contingent at this resort, surf boards are part of the all inclusive. We tried surfing, but found it very scary! We stuck with boogie boards. But, you can surf at this resort. The bars and drinks are good. We were very happy that they use re-usable plastic cups for beach and pool drinks instead of disposable cups. The a la carte restaurants are good, we like the Mexican the best. We like how there are no reservations at the a la carte - you just go when you are ready for dinner and occasionally you will have to wait a little while, but not always. The buffet for us was just OK. At times we found the servers quite dismissive, but not all of them and not all of the time. I think we are pretty low maintenance - we perhaps just caught some servers on a bad day or something. I would note that I got many bug bites - I think they are probably sand flea bites from the beach. If you are prone to bug bites (as I am, my spouse did not get any) I would suggest bringing some repellant and/or after bite treatment. I did not bring either of these things and was very itchy the whole time! Overall this is a good resort for the price we paid. It seems that it would be very good for families as there are many kids and they offer day care as well I think.

Riu Palace Riviera Maya: Amazing resort

We absolutely loved this resort,its was beautiful and the seevice was top notch,only great things to say,we had a beautiful honeymoon,many thanks to our travel agent Amanda for recommending this resort:)

Dreams Jade Resort and Spa: Great resort despite narrow beach

Location - Its close enough to the airport for taxi cost about $30 US one way. Food - Restaurants were all very good, especially the surf and turf special at the french rest. Pools - The resort was very full in the first week of december and pool side lounge chairs were hard to get if you weren't up early on the 'family side". The preferred side has an adults only pool where lounge chairs were much easier to get. Staff - All staff were friendly and courteous and genuinely appreciative whe [... read more]n tipped. Rooms - were spacious and very clean (oceanview - non-preferred side) . The beds were very comfortable. Friends had a preferred room with balcony jacuzzi. This room was very large, with nicer ammenities and also very clean. Booking tip - Book preferred when you book your vacation on line when its only a few bucks more than non preferred. If you wait until at the resort check-in desk to upgrade to preferred... its around $400 more for the week and too expensive. If crowded, you'll want access to the preferred pool and the rooms are very nice. I noticed when booking that some preferred rooms were actually cheaper than non-preferred on trip central. Wish I had booked preferred then. The entertainmnet was was as good as it gets in the Mayan. In my mind, this is a four and half to five star resort but the narrow beach took away from the quality of walks that could have made my holiday much more enjoybale. They work hard to remove the smelly seaweed every day. Too Bad there isn't enough beach for beach volleyball and other activities ... but they played volleyball on the roof on a tennis court. I was told that recent stormy weather caused the beach to become narrower than it once was.

Moon Palace Cancun: Moon Palace, Cancun

I want to begin by saying the people and direct staff were very friendly, and accommodating, the servers were welcoming and wonderful. I found the resort too large, very disorganized and very fragmented and the service was average. There seemed to be a disconnect of communication between the three hotels within Moon Palace that often lead to much frustration . Sometimes my room was cleaned other days it was not, sometimes I received clean towels and others day I did not. Bahia Principe Escape Sian Ka'an: Many good things

We always enjoy the food at this resort. The sushi was excellent, as was the Mexican selection. The salads were fresh and varied, and we loved the huge prawns and smoked salmon. The service in the buffet was fast and friendly. We didn't go to any of the a la carte restaurants on this trip, as we were enjoying the buffet so much. The rooms were clean and, in our area, very quiet. The evening entertainment was sometimes excellent, other times not of interest to us. The three tenors who sang [... read more] one evening were outstanding. Make a visit to the infinity pool at the Akumal beach. We had an evening swim there and watched a spectacular lightning storm in a distant cloud. For us, the only down side to this resort was the noise of the air conditioner in the lobby bar, which made it difficult to have a quiet conversation. We are particularly sensitive to this kind of noise, as well as to loud thumping music. When this starts, we move on. Finally, another plus: You won't be bothered by people trying to sell you a time-share. Overall, this is a good place to eat and drink well, dance, walk, swim, relax.

Hilton Vallarta Riviera Resort: Great Views, Food and Service!

Pools were awesome and service overall was excellent. Rooms were big and the king bed was very comfortable. Food was great at all the restaurants and the drink were premium. Awesome resort...I would definitely return!

Secrets Huatulco: Beautiful, relaxing vacation at Secrets Huatulco

Our group of 4 stayed at the Secrets Huatulco from Nov. 27, 2016 - Dec. 4, 2016. My husband and I have stayed at the Dreams Huatulco, twice previously. The secrets is beautiful. It is a very private, picturesque property, with spectacular views. Our room was great, very comfortable, save for the odd bug here and there. The staff cannot do enough for you. The only issue we ran into was the lack of Baileys at any of the bars. Guess it was the popular drink the week we were there!! The situa [... read more]tion was rectified in a timely fashion. The pools are in excellent condition, and spotlessly clean. The entertainment team was a lot of fun. If you wanted to join in, great! If you didn't, great! We visited the spa and the services offered were luxurious. We were treated very well, and enjoyed every minute of it. Our foursome took the Maxi City tour, for 4 hours, with Alfonso (Poncho) as our guide. He was a lot of fun and very very knowledgeable and proud of his city. We ventured over to the Dreams one afternoon just for a change of pace. In order to do this, you must see the Secrets Concierge for a day pass, and then upon arrival at the Dreams, give your pass to the Cocierge there for admittance. It was nice to see the vendors, and other things going on there. But you must get a day pass or you will not be able to eat or drink at the Dreams. The food at the Secrets is wonderful. The a la Carte's were all excellent, with the Italian being our favourite. It was a wonderful, relaxing week away with great friends. Keep in mind that there are a lot of stairs and steep ramps at the Secrets. FROM THE ST.LAURENT MALL LOCATION IN OTTAWA. SHE'S NEVER STEERED US WRONG IN THE PAST. THIS TIME WAS NO DIFFERENT. FLIGHT AND TRANSFERS TO THE HOTEL WAS SEAMLESS. ARRIVAL AT THE HOTEL WAS WARM AND WELCOMING. FROM THE CONCIERGE CHECK-IN ONWARD, THERE WERE NO NEGATIVES TO COMMENT ON. MORNING COFFEE ON THE BALCONY WAS VERY MUCH OUT OF THE QUESTION. WE SUGGEST THAT EVEN THOUGH THIS WAS A DELUXE ROOM, BOOK AND PAY EXTRA FOR THE UPGRADED BEACH VIEW. AGAIN, THE ROOM WAS BEAUTIFULLY APPOINTED WITH MODERN AND IMPECCABLE TOUCHES. VERY COMFORTABLE. A REQUEST WAS MADE FOR A MOVE TO A DIFFERENT ROOM, BUT INFORMED THAT THAT WAS INDEED THE DELUXE VIEW. Canto Del Sol: Great value!

We have been to this resort , (and many others all over Mexico), over 20 times. We love puerto Vallarta. This resort is close enough to enjoy the downtown scene, and only ten minutes by cab from the airport. The service is excellent, the food is quite good, rooms are well appointed and clean. The beach area is a bit small, but the pools are nice. For great service by the pool, ask for Jorge. There are many great servers, however here. Feels like a family. Bahia Principe Explore Tulum: Great Times

The resort was on top of everything. Food ,service and cleanliness. It's our second year back to back and the resort still has impressed us. Can't go wrong. The staff are on top of it all. There helpful and friendly.

Iberostar Selection Paraiso Lindo: We LOVE Paraiso Lindo

Our family (ages 6-60) has been spending the last week of November at Paraiso Lindo since 2012. We had a fantastic time again this year. The food was even better than previous years. I did yoga on the beach every morning and it was heavenly. Our small kids enjoyed the kids club and our big kid was comfortable taking part in the more adult activities (ie. pool basketball and volleyball).

Barcelo Karmina: One of the Best in the Area

Two weeks at the Karmina Nov 20-Dec 4. Still off season, hotel occupancy about 50%. Weather beautiful, a couple of night showers.Our first time in Manzanillo. Lovely hotel and staff, spacious rooms, excellent food with lots of fish and seafood. A La cartes were OK, but not spectacular--not all open every night. We got 7 a la carte cards for 2 weeks. Kudos to Mierela of Westjet tours and to Jessica, the Hotel Concierge.

Sandos Caracol Nature Resort and Water Park: Great family resort!

We loved that there was lots to do beyond going to the pool or beach. There were always different animals to see, paths to explore, cenotes and activities for the kids. The bathrooms were always clean in any location. We spent most of our time by the pool and at the aqua park. I would have liked to see someone cleaning either of them at some point...

Dreams Huatulco: Fantastic Resort

This was our second time staying at the Dreams Huatulco. Love everything about this resort. The weather is a guarantee. It was 30-35 everyday that we were there. We were treated very well by the Dreams staff. The room was spotless and cleaned up for us in the morning. Always had a new shampoo and shower gel, as well as a sunscreen. Never had to call down to get towels or refill the bar fridge. Also, no towel cards and no need to make reservations at the a la carte restaurants. Dreams Puerto Morelos Resort and Spa: Beautiful Resort!!

The hotel and grounds were fabulous and clean. The food was amazing, especially at the Asian restaurant. The shows were creative. The staff was attentive. The entertainment staff was AMAZING and they made a point to remember our names (Erika and Ana) and they were soooo much fun. Being that I was supposed to go with my partner but ended up going with my best friend to a couples resort, I still found that although it's a very romantic place, it was very entertaining for singles as well. I suppose the only thing I can say negative was that the plumbing in the rooms was a bit weak (toilet) and the beach was weedy and rocky. So although I love swimming in the ocean, I only did so when on a snorkeling adventure. This was two hotels down and was really great! Close and the Mayan reef was beautiful. Recommended. The pools were great (the main pool is not salt but the rest are). We took a taxi from the airport for 35$ USD (prebooked on Taxi2Airport.com which saved us time as it only took 20mins to get to the resort. Overall great resort!!

Iberostar Waves Cozumel: Excellent All-Inclusive Resort

We really enjoyed our stay at the Iberostar Cozumel. We were fortunate to be given a newly renovated king room (#5204) and found it to be perfect and well serviced. No issues with musty smells, storage or lack of hot water (although a neighboring room was experiencing a strong sewage smell during the week). To those who complain about the lack of hot water, please remember “C” stands for caliente (hot), not cold. The food was inconsistent although the buffets seemed to improve over the we [... read more]ek. The steakhouse was quite good, the Asian and Tex-Mex were not. Although I did eat something on the Mexican buffet our last night that caused severe stomach issues I cannot fault the hotel. Food issues can occur anywhere down the line and in fact during one of our lunch buffets I observed a staff member routinely taking the temperature of the buffet items to ensure food safety. The wine was good but the drinks were just okay. We never did find anything on the bar menu that we would want to order twice and wasn’t made with a lot of sugar. The staff were friendly and hardworking and the star friends talented and enthusiastic. We saw a few shows and especially enjoyed the acrobats in the horror show. Would we return? Yes, I think so. The value was excellent and the diving good, both draws that would bring us back at some point in time.

Beach Palace: Had a great time! Very Relaxing!

The Beach Palace was a very nice clean resort and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay there. The staff are great! They are always smiling and very pleasant, always asking how our stay was? Rafael, in the Wok Restaurant, was always smiling and engaging. We enjoyed the Wok, Terrace Grill and the Buffet, however, Bocelli's, I thought was under par and could be improved on. My wife had one of the best cuts off meat ever at the terrace. You could have cut it with a butter knife :).
