Sunscape Dominicus La Romana: Great time

Booked last minute , stayed in room 409, had not problem with a/c, water preasure was good. Beach is good, walk a little down the beach for amazing powdery sand and scenery. Buffet was awsome, lots to choose from. Plenty of chairs at pool and beach. Will be returning for sure

Barcelo Bavaro Palace: Very Nice Resort

Just came back from Barcelo Bavaro palace . It is a beautiful report. The food is excellent. The rooms are really nice. Get one with a tub on the balcony. Very large resort Both pools and beach are very nice. Would return.

Caribe Deluxe Princess: Wow!!! Paradise :)

We loved the layout of this hotel, we stayed close to the pool, ocean, buffet. The hotel was very clean and the service was great. Even though it was March Break and busy, we never felt overwhelmed by people.

Sunscape Dominican Beach: Nice but not what I was expecting

The grounds were nice. Activities should last longer (10 minute bingo games could be longer, karaoke night should last longer). Cockraoches in some of the rooms, turned me right off, therefore I will never go back to this resort. Food at the ala carte restaurants was fantastic!

Senator Puerto Plata Hotel: Bachata was good

Riiu Bachata was enjoyable, clean and well run resort. We would rate it 3.5 - 4 stars at most, not the 5 they have on the sign. We were not dis allusioned about this, as we only had expectations as high as the price we paid. that being said we thought the value was good. They work hard at keeping the resort clean. The rooms were noisy and hallway traffic noise easily came into the rooms. The room keys were annoying and entry card wrist bands would have been very nice ( we had these at the Great  [... read more]Wolf Lodge ) . This would require some updating by the resort. If you wanted to book an a la carte retraurant you had to get up early every day to do this. Other guests were annoying by reserving lounges early in the morning and not showing up till later to occupy the better spots around the pool. The Cruise ship terminal for Carnival cruise lines was under construction next door with boats expected in October. Rumors have it that cruisers can get a 6 hour pass to access the resort. I wouldn't look forward competing with cruise people as we'll as resort people. Lastly they had limited supply of kayaks which made spontaneous use of them impossible. A few more plastic boats for a resort this size would be nice. Overall we had a good trip. We will not return to this resort next time because there are so many others to try.

Grand Bavaro Princess: Awesome resort!

We love this resort, second time here and will not be our last. Rooms, meals, grounds, pool, beach, everything super. We had Room 893, close to lobby and quiet pool, also close to beach shuttle stop. Cannot wait to come back next year! Loved the crepes by Osirious!

Bahia Principe Explore La Romana: Amazing resort!

We stayed at Grand Bahia Principe La Romana March 3rd to the 10th. We had such great weather the whole time we were there. The bus to the resort was fine. The service when we got to the resort was great. We got checked in right away and were greated with drinks. Our room was very nice and clean. The maids did a great job. The food at the resort was great as well. No bad things to say about our time!

VH Gran Ventana Beach Resort: Clean and friendly too! Good snorkeling too.

In short version is we LOVED IT! VERY pleased and we would not only recommend VH Gran Ventana, Puerto Plata but will go again if nothing else catches our eye next year. Without considering the low cost, it was a great spot. When you factor in the low cost, it is a gem. Clean, clean, clean. Friendly staff. Great food. Quiet. Great beach. Long version: The bathroom was a bit dated, but spotlessly clean. So if shiny taps and a perfect tub are a concern, you might have a few complaints. The common areas are spacious and airy and we were amazed at how well maintained they all were (seriously, if you told me they had just shut down and renovated the week before, I’d believe it.) The staff were extremely friendly and helpful with the occasional need for international sign language.  The beach is very nice with tons of shaded areas (we did not have to sit in the sun once unless we chose to and never went out early to “reserve” a spot). There is lots of coral to explore. Sadly it is in pretty rough shape with very little active growth but there are still quite a few fish attracted to it. Not bad for a short walk and your snorkeling! The reef provides some protection. We had pretty big winds and I swam on yellow flag days with no concerns. Although I am a strong swimmer, it didn’t matter as I was not buffeted at all (using a little common sense about going out too far on those days of course). The food at the buffet was great with lots of variety and the a la carte restaurants were delicious (wine was better there). The wait to sit at the buffet was minimal at worst. More often than not, we walked in and sat down right away. The entertainment was a bit lame for us, but you know what? They had a crowd every night.  The service at the buffet was about the only thing that stood out as lacking. And what a minor thing. Waiting for a glass of water or a coffee could go on forever. But both were readily available on the buffet a few feet away. Most times plates wouldn’t be cleared or maybe a glass would be missing when set… … But once we got a few waiters nicely tipped we didn’t wait for wine or drinks often. 

Bahia Principe Escape Bouganville: relaxing , clean , fun , resort

we stayed in room 50102, corner suite, ocean view. very nice room. Any problems we had in our room was attended to right away. We did not have illness or did we hear of anyone else being ill. The food is not a 5 star rating, but we did not starve. The staff kept us well entertained and were very friendly. We had a very relaxing vacation

Occidental Caribe: Barcelo punta cana

This place was really nice, the beach was awesome and the food was excellent. This my second time at this resort love it .Wish they had a bit more entertainment at night.The buffet was great and a la carte was excellen.

The Reserve at Paradisus Punta Cana: A great resort!

This was our forst time to Punta Cana and the only disappointment was not booking a longer stay! We stayed at the Reserve Paradisus. A great place for families, but there were also many couples without kids. The pool was huge and always extremely clean. Poolside beverage service was also great. We stayed in a one bedroom family suite and opted for the family concierge option. This came in handy as our concierge (Sandra) was great and booked all our dinners and our poolside cabana every day for u [... read more]s. There is also an amazing kids club with activities if you have children. The food choices were great (including the buffets) and the a la carte restaurants were delicious with tons of choices. If you are staying on the Reserve portion of the resort, you have access to all restaurants and pools throughout the whole resort, although those not staying in the Reserve section don't have access to all amenities in the Reserve section. We will be returning again next year. Highly recommened.

Wyndham Alltra Samana: Winter Holiday

The hotel was awesome, the lobby and washrooms were beautiful when you walked in! Rooms were clean and nice, good size. Includes a mini fridge with unlimited pop and water bottles which was awesome! The bar tenders were very friendly and gave excellent service. The food was also amazing! I ate so much everyday and was never disappointed! Very quiet and relaxing resort. The weather in February was awesome, 25-30 degrees Celsius everyday!

Bahia Principe Explore Punta Cana: Surpassed Expectations!

My husband and I had a great time staying in this resort. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. The food was amazing (both buffet and a la carte). We loved the beach and will definitely stay here again on our next trip to D.R. I would recommend Royal Golden package as the rooms are closest to the beach!

The Eurostars Grand Cayacoa: AWESOME RESORT

This was our second year visiting this resort. Our first year was all adult and enjoyed it much better than the second. Don't have a problem with kids at the resort but would suggest that they use the pools without the pool bar. The staff was amazing and rooms were always very clean. The food was awesome and not sure from other reviews what the complaints were but found lots to eat. Entertainment staff were amazing and unless you volunteer to join the games will find it quiet. Suggest leaving ti [... read more]ps but not expected. We went on the whale watching excursion which was a amazing experience and lots of fun. We brought another couple with us and they enjoyed the resort as much as we did. The views from our rooms were breath taking we were on the 4th floor, which we had the first year. We had asked for the same floor again and the resort made sure this happened. Would like to go back again. They had a mixture of ages and the blend work well.

Cofresi Palm Beach and Spa Resort: Great Time!!

The Cofresi is a wonderful place to relax and have fun. The staff are very friendly and most helpful, especially at the Cheers bar!! Hector, the towel person, was wonderful. He played games with the children as he handed out the towels. Rooms are bright and kept very clean. The food in all the specialty restaurants was excellent. Two concerns ... if you are senior the steps might be a problem but there is a shuttle. ...a bit too much advertising to purchase a condo by Lifestyles.

VH Gran Ventana Beach Resort: Had a great time

Staff was excellente. They kept people entertained around the pool, at the beach and at night during shows. The food at the 3 a la cart restaurants were excellent. Cons: The mattresses in rooms are like sleeping on a sheet of plywood. The beach bar could use a face lift and more seating around the bar. Although it is buffet food, the food overall was good but at times not hot enough. But most importantly the resort needs to make "Presidente Light" available to quest's around the resort rather t [... read more]han the 2 cans they leave in your room.

Melia Caribe Beach Resort: Beautiful Getaway

Food was fabulous and the Al a Carte options made eating a pleasure. We stayed need the beach and pool which was just right for our family. The walk to the main lobby was a bit long if you missed the train so suggest to leave early if you have an appointment at the lobby or restaurants. Room service was not consistent and two days ended up needing to search out staff to obtain towels for our use in the room.

Riu Bambu: RIU Bambu - Don't go There!

Requested 2nd floor w/2dble or queen beds - got !!! 2 TWINS & a BABYS' CRIB!!! Guess where 1 had to sleep-in a chair! Argued for 1 1/2 days to change us to what was requested, finally got a room with a couch! Registration people very unfriendly to rude. Sunwing Rep totally unco-operative & not willing to help. Room bar not regularly refilled. Not relaxing vacation at all!

Catalonia Bavaro Resort: Time of our life!

The service, cleanliness of rooms & restaurants, and food was excellent! Always someone cleaning the grounds as well. The servers and bartenders were amazing. Although the beach was not like other resorts we've been too, it was not a deterrent for swimming in the ocean. The people were always working at cleaning the beach. Very quiet resort. Bahia Principe Explore El Portillo: Nice resort

Spent two weeks early March travelling with six adults. Staff were great. Rooms were average. Resort was bigger then we expected. The buffet and specialty restaurants were amazing except for the sea food which was very disappointing. The grounds and cleanliness of the resort was excellent. Although we were told the snorkelling was good and is the main reason we went, truth is snorkelling is poor with very little to see plus water is usually cloudy.
