Blue Bay Villas Doradas: Beautiful Resort

The foliage was the best part. Special lighting, textiles and accents made this resort feel luxurious. Lost a beach bag with camera, cell phone and wallet.. all was returned home two weeks after trip!

Bahia Principe Grand San Juan: Great people.

The weather, food and the staff were great. Had a couple problems with our room. Reserved a ground floor, renovated room (because I have a disability) and they gave us a 2nd floor room. Changed to a lower level. Room was dirty and small. (b9 section) the outlets were unsafe. Could not charge my electronics. Changed rooms again the next day because there were 3 of us in a room, looking for bigger and closer due to disability. Got moved to B2 section. It's exactly the same room. Two small beds and [... read more] floors were dirty. Our room had ants in it. Especially the bathroom. Got a few bites in the beds. It was a bit gross! Other than than the size of the rooms and cleanliness, had a great time. The staff could learn a bit more English. It was difficult to communicate with the bartenders. Also the security could have been a bit more strict with college kids. Very loud and obnoxious all hours of the night. All in all. I still had fun and the food was great.

Barcelo Bavaro Beach: 9 times to Punta Cana, this is one my favs!

I stayed at the adults only, which is the best to stay at. You can use the facilities at the other side but come back to the tranquil side of the adults. My group nicknames the other side "Vegas", so big, so modern, very un-caribbean feeling. All the ala cartes were very good and something for everyone at the buffets. The water was gorgeous and blue like all of Bavaro Beach but more calm as you are in the cove. Rooms were well appointed and very clean. Never had to fight or save chairs at pool o [... read more]r beach no matter what time you got there, this is a A++ feature in my mind! If they could improve on one thing it would be the service. Either excellent or less than desirable. Don't think about it, just book it!!

Barcelo Bavaro Beach: Beautiful

The beach is beautiful, you could walk for miles in the white sand and there was lots of activity on the water. The resort was clean, there were a lot of options for meals and the staff were very helpful and friendly.

Bahia Principe Explore El Portillo: Lovely Resort

The El Portillo is a lovely resort. The professional pictures are accurate. The staff are wonderful to the guests, hard working and very friendly. The food at the buffet restaurant and the 4 a la carte restaurants is very good, above expectations. The beach is great, but not at all good for snorkeling. The only negative was there were not enough beach loungers for all the guests and unless you get up very early to reserve, you are out of luck.

Bahia Principe Escape Ambar: Very nice resort

Very well kept nice grounds and excellent place to stay. Great food friendly people very well kept beach and pool. Restaurants very good food.would recommend this resort to anybody that wants to have a relaxing vacation.

Caribe Deluxe Princess: Deteriorated resort - needs upgrading

We traveled to this resort 10 years ago and were very impressed with it that we chose to come back. I don't think any work has been done in the time since we had been there. Rooms were in much need of work - we even changed rooms as we were not pleased with our first and while the second was cleaner the air conditioning vent dripped steady leaving a huge water puddle on the floor in the entrance to our room. Vent in bathroom dripped on you every time you sat on the toilet, half of the shower doo [... read more]r was missing - NO hot water our whole 10 day trip and we tried to shower at different times of the day - 6, 7, 8 am, 3, 5, 8 pm! It's hard to shave over goosebumps :-) The grounds were clean and well kept with the exception to the pathways needing to be redone - patching only goes so far! The pool closest to our room had green algae along the edge. Food - only one buffet for two resorts - we found many times the staff couldn't keep up with keeping the chafing dishes full so you would have to go back several times to if you wanted something specific - especially fruit. We found the nicest fruit and best place for lunch to be the beach snack bar. We did enjoy the Mexican restaurant. Evening entertainment was horrible - one of the evenings it was exactly the same show we saw 10 years ago. Very amateurish. (and i'm sure the wicker chairs were the same as from 10 years ago too) The beach was great, the bars were good and the staff friendly, but we would not go back to the Caribe Club Princess - especially when we know we can stay in a much nicer resort for the same $$$

Barcelo Bavaro Palace: Awesome trip

Amazing resort, very clean, very huge, beautiful beach and pools, lots to do Food above average for Dominican. If you have kids then this is the resort for you. Three water parks for different ages, mini put, laser tag, water sports, pool tables etc...

Be Live Experience Hamaca Suites: Amazing Staff/Employees!

The Hotel is pleasant, unfortunately for us, we were in the Garden View area of the resort, they section we were in - 800's were currently being renovated. so, both our neighboring rooms were busy with construction workers all day. Very nice, but loud, if you wanted to take a rest during the day. Also, our unit needed renovations, so it was old. And the balcony was full of pigeon poo, should be cleaned, at least weekly. Otherwise, a very fine establishment.

Sunscape Puerto Plata: Good time!

Very clean & well maintained resort. Food was good all though not kept hot enough in the buffet. We stayed in Club Premium section which was awesome! Would return for another holiday next year. Great staff!

Bahia Principe Escape Ambar: An amazing vacation!

The resort and staff were excellent, they made our vacation a dream come true.The food selection, drinks and service were topnotch, an example to other resorts to follow. I'll only travel to this chain of resorts in the future. Our special thanks go out too Hector, Menfis and Jose (beach bar). These staff members ensured we had the ultimate vacation!

Cofresi Palm Beach and Spa Resort: Ok resort for the money paid

We stayed at the Cofresi in puerta plata from feb 27-March 6 The resort was very large with adjoining sister resorts - if you don't enjoy stairs , this resort isn't for you Our whole week staying there we only had 1 day where we were able to take a warm shower- we called constantly about this issue and the maintenance people were good to TRY and fix it but with no avail Coffee- if you like to have coffee/ good luck / if the buffet restaurant wasn't open there was no way to get a coffee anywhere  [... read more]- they should really have a coffee bar in the lobby VIP- if you were not one of these preferred vacationers then you were basically worthless... They try to sell you one of these time share packages and when we declined ( we were brought to one of the other sister resorts ) they were not even going to bring us back to our own resort - my husband had to basically get upset and they finally drove us back Food was good/ beach was ok- lots of seaweed - cleanliness was good. Service was ok - employees are not overly friendly Overall it was ok- don't think we will return there agsin

Be Live Experience Hamaca Suites: DO not go there!!!

Garden view rooms are disgusting!! Worse than slum..be prepared to pay to upgrade! We saw a friend's ocean view suite and it was gorgeous but they paid an additional $600 to upgrade for two weeks. The resort certainly not the cleanest but the pool and pool area were nice. Food was good and beds comfy. You could not flush tissue in toilets...had to discard soiled tissue in wastebasket! Ugh!

Riu Bambu: Fabulous

Riu Bambu Hotel was beautifully maintained xnd very clean. The best part was the food!! The people were friendly and almost all spoke English enough to help you should you require aid. The only drawback for us were our Sunwing representatives who sold us two very similar outings and when questioned after the first one denied they were similar?? This was not the hotel's fault and I have emailed Sunwing

Bahia Principe Escape Ambar: Big and Beautiful

I do not think my husband and I have ever stayed at a cleaner, better cared for property...which is amazing given its size. Luckily we were at the Ambar 2. Dinners were a let down though and could be improved.

Blue Bay Villas Doradas: Amazing Time, Amazing Dining Staff

Although we had a few glitches upon arrival and for the first few days, mostly with the desk staff regarding our room (we were to get a balcony) and safe (it didn't work for 3 days), overall we are very happy to say we were MORE THAN PLEASED with the staff in the dining room, in particular Pedro Hernandez who went over and above the call of duty to make our holiday, dinners and evenings stand out. Always a smile, always accommodating. He is an exceptional person who made our stay most enjoyable! [... read more]!! As well as all the other staff, an all around great bunch. ;0)! The food was always quite good and a wide variety to choose from. We were very impressed with the selection and freshness. We enjoyed our lunches at the beach restaurant, very yummy chicken. We also enjoyed our A La Carte dining experience at the Chinese Restaurant & look forward to trying the other A La Carte restaurants on our next visit. The entertainment/activity staff were also very friendly and fun to watch. We enjoyed their enthusiasm and presentation of various activities. The New Year's Eve dinner, show and music were absolutely amazing as were the fireworks. We danced the night away on the beach until 3:00 am. with no shortage of bubbly. Sam and I experienced our best New Year's Eve ever. Thank you for such a wonderful evening & great memories. The bar staff was always very accommodating and most were very friendly as well, always keeping us smiling and never dry lol. The swim up bar and beach bar staff were especially friendly. The beach was great as was the water. Every day we walked along the beach visiting neighbouring resorts and noticed that ours', Blue Bay, was the nicest beach of all. The staff on the beach were always accommodating, always finding us chairs if we couldn't find one. The only drawback was the constant popping up of peddlers on the beach selling things, we would be approached at least 10 times a day. The resort itself was very clean and well maintained. The pool area was very nice and the pool was always kept clean. The rooms were neat and tidied daily. On a few days however we did not get fresh face cloths/towels, soap and shampoo. Overall, we would definitely recommend this resort to our friends and we would like to come back ourselves. We are thinking however that we would like to look at a Villa, if not a Villa definitely insist on a room with a balcony with less stairs. We enjoyed our stay immensely, met some great new friends. Caribe Deluxe Princess: First Trip to Caribe Club Princess Resort

We had a great time at Caribe Club Princess Resort. The staff are extremely friendly, food is very good, room was great, beach is beautiful, lots of restaurants, nice pools. We would definitely return.

Occidental Caribe: Nice resort

I thought the hotel was beautiful and clean! But customer service was a bit lacking. We actually called for something we needed in our room and it took 3 days and never got it anyway:( You would never be able to have a bath in this resort. People were friendly for the most time and really appreciated their tip

Casa Marina Sosua Trademark by Wyndham All Inclusive: Awesome Resort

First time in Dominican and very pleased with this resort. Grounds and view was spectacular, service and food was exceptional, room was good, basic, just what you needed though, and entertainment was a bonus. You could walk down town in a friendly safe atmosphere. Would return but do want to try other vacationing spots.

Catalonia Bavaro Resort: Changes for the worst

This is our third trip to Catalonia Bavaro and frankly, we were disappointed. Asked to pay extra for "Privileged Status" or lose out on nicer beach, restaurant seating, etc., noticeable decrease in staff friendliness, decline in food quality, we won't be going back.
