Hard Rock Hotel Riviera Maya: Beautiful resort

The hotel was beautiful, friendly and helpful staff, excellent room service, love the selection of liquor and drink in our room. However we were VERY DISAPPOINTED with the dirty glasses that they serve our drinks in at the outdoor bars, they were rinsed in dirty water and had lipstick on them.

Villas Vallarta by Canto del Sol: Nice Resort!

My boyfriend and I enjoyed our stay at Canto Del Sol. We came for 5 days in the end of November. The weather was beautiful, the hotel was very clean and everybody was super nice! Our room was right by the pool, so it was loud and the food wasn't the best. Location was perfect! 10 minute walk from downtown, 20 minute walk from the Marina!

The Pyramid Cancun: Would go back

Went for the first time to Mexico from Nov 9th to 16th staying at the Pyramid Grand Oasis in Cancun - it was low-season, so the resort was less than half-occupied. My wife and I (in our mid-50s) have been to many islands in the Caribbean. It was a very enjoyable stay - the food was excellent! We enjoyed the beach and the pool. It is a relatively large resort but once you got your bearings - it was easy to get around. The room was very clean and comfortable - some days we had chamber-maid service twice! The only negative was two things - they have people walking around the main building - asking if you need any help/directions - in reality these folks are eventually going to try to sell you a "time-share" - don't accept their offer of a free bottle of tequila. The other negative is only if you are a beach-walker - we like to walk on the beach - while it is beautiful - the sand being comfortably cool it is very soft near the shoreline - it feels like walking through mud - we prefer walking on hard sand - but that is not a really big deal. We would go back to the Pyramid Grand Oasis and would recommend it.

Riu Santa Fe: Excellent Resort

The stay at this resort was excellent enjoying 2 full weeks of super hot weather and fabulous fun. We stayed in building 3 which was nice and quiet at night. The room was nice, clean and the view from the balcony was beautiful. We had friends that stayed in building 7 which was close to the main pool where all the activities take place and they saw a lot of action late into the night - nice to be so close to the main pool and if you like a lot of action then that would be the building for you. T [... read more]he grounds and public areas surrounding the resort were beautifully kept. There was always a huge variety of food at the buffet and a lot of it was very tasty, the theme restaurants were also very good, had some delicious meals at the Mexican, Italian and Steakhouse restaurants. The serving staff at all of the restaurants including the buffet were super friendly, always welcoming with smiles on their faces. We spent a most of the time at the main pool and participated in water polo and tequila volleyball daily and participated in some of the planned daily activities. The entertainment staff were phenominal! So friendly, always remembered your name and made a 6-7 hour day in the pool exciting and full of fun. Have to give a shout out to our 2 favorites David and Yaelle and also Lucy and Anna!!! The drinks were always good, service fairly quickly when busy, found a handful of the liquor servers to be outgoing, friendly and happy but some of the staff serving were not overly friendly and they didn't seem very happy doing their job...All in all we had a great time and certainly would recommend this resort to anyone who wants a top notch resort for more than an affordable price!! Thanks to all that made our trip definitely one to remember!!

Riu Tequila: Lovely resort

Had a great time. The staff were all wonderful and efficient. My room seemed to be recently redone with nice furniture and a comfortable bed. I was close to the main building but it was quiet. The beach was awesome. White, powdery sand. Lots of palm trees for shade. The food was excellent in all the restaurants. Not much to complain about here.

Excellence Playa Mujeres: Best resort ever

This was our fourth time at this resort in the last three years. The service at Excellence Playa Majeures is second to none. The menus have been changed ( to even better) and one of the biggest changes I have noticed is that the wi-fi is a 100 percent better. We will be back next year this time I will upgrade to Excellence Club because the pools there are heated . You will not be disappointed if you book this resort, that I can assure you .

Akumal Bay Beach and Spa Resort: fabulous 50th birthday

Spent my 50th here with my husband, would go back in a heartbeat. This place was amazing, and I mean everything about it, the food the atmosphere the staff, Couldn't have asked for anything better, absolutely loved snorkeling with the Sea Turtles everyday. A friendly face everywhere you turned, always willing to offer their services. Aurora at the breakfast bar was so friendly and such a warm smile first thing in the morning, what a way to start your day. Can't wait for next year!!!!!

Sunscape Puerto Vallarta: Amazing!

This is our 2nd time to this resort and as expected we had an amazing time. The staff goes over and above, from the concierge (Miguel) to the restaurant manager (Leon) to the front desk staff (Elizabeth and Isaac). There wasn't a staff member there that wasn't immediately available to assist in any way possible. The food was amazing. My favourite restaurant is the Italian restaurant, but the Seaside Grill and the Mexican restaurant were also excellent. Catalonia Playa Maroma: Beautiful beach, small hotel, amazing vacation!

Background: Stayed for two weeks as a family with a 13 month old baby. This is our second stay, the first time we stayed as a couple-only 4 years ago. Grounds: Beautiful and lush. The gardeners work really hard to maintain these. "Perfect" distances for walking: even carrying a baby (along with a diaper bag, swimming ring, towels) from the hotel room to the lobby or to the beach was never an issue. The layout of each villa building is such that those rooms facing the inner courtyard wi [... read more]th their balconies do not face other rooms, but the entrances into those rooms. This way you can maintain some privacy if your room is facing the courtyard. Our room was facing out (not into the courtyard) and we had a view of palms - Complete Privacy if not for adjacent neighbour. The location of each villa building is a short walk from the main avenue. Although it is a short proximity from the main avenue, you do walk through a "thick jungle" - so beware at night and bring bug repellent. The paths are lit up at night, but more of a mood lighting and the paths from the main avenue to villas do bend around vegetation and some portions are on an incline. There are also some "sentimental saying" signs that hang rather low. We did not have a problem navigating paths with our stroller, however, we laughed that if one is coming back tipsy, they might end up in a "ditch" or might hit their head on the sign. Hotel room: We were upgraded to privileged Coba building closer to the Theatre. The building was recently renovated with contemporary finishes and the washroom is updated. (I am comparing it to our original stay in 2012 in the Kabah Building which is closer to the beach). Renovations are continuing as I understand the Theatre is being updated in the next weeks. - Cannot comment on the noise that will be coming from it. Food: Yes, during the two week stay, you can tell dishes are repetitive. However, even so, there is so much choice. One has to be incredibly picky and negative not to find something to eat: from pizzas, huge selection of breads, two soups (different at each meal time), cheese station, fresh fruit station, deserts, salad bars and cold cut station. At each meal there were two-three choices of fish/seafood, and we were always amazed when there was fresh grilled Tuna steak and guests preferred red meat instead. There were a variety of warm plate dishes, some authentic Mexican - enchiladas, tostadas,tamales, molletes, ceviche, flautas, tacos al pastor, variety of salsas. Beach: Long and wide beach. The sand is soft, although not as soft as I recall in Holguin, Cuba. The fantastic thing is that there are mature palms right on the beach, so you can always find a little bit of shade if you want it. The privileged section is separated and there is also an Exclusive Privileged. Entrance into the ocean is free of any rocks, which was definitely an issue when we stayed at Grand Princess Riviera on a previous occasion. On days when the ocean was calm, we were swimming in the ocean with our daughter. There are only two adjacent hotels, and the next properties over are both abandoned in construction. The unfortunate part is the amount of plastic garbage from ships that accumulates in those abandoned areas. However, the walk is very pleasant and safe. You have some minor vendors, but nothing obnoxious. Staff/ Entertainment/ Maintenance: Staff, as any group of people varies: from genuinely very friendly and helpful, to those happy only when they get tips. Example we had one really thorough room cleaning maid, and two that clearly did their minimum required. We've met some amazing restaurant staff (Katia at the front, servers Humberto, Luis, Ekran and others) and also, some only so-so - particularly the evening restaurant manager and evening greeting lady. Maintenance: We had a leak from the light fixture in the washroom that was promptly fixed (someone was sent within an hour). Unfortunately, in the process of fixing it, the washroom fan was turned off, so the washroom begun smelling of mold. Separately, we saw several times power washing of the main avenue, scrubbing of the pools and cleaning of the wicker furniture. Entertainment crew was great! They were walking around, getting to know the guests and inviting to participate in various activities and even with a baby we found several activities we all did together - dancing/work out classes near the pool during the day, the beginning of the beach party in the evening, and participating in the Lion King. They were super sweet with our daughter. Negatives: We were approached five times by staff dressed in blue, to participate in the time share. Each time it took them minimum 30 minutes to try to invite us to the (what I understand from other reviews) is 3-4 hour presentation over brunch. Even though we stayed for 2 weeks, we came here to relax, and celebrate our first year as a family. We did not want someone try to coax us into buying in a program. After the first few times, we became very wary of them and were essentially just mumbling greetings and were off on our way. Phone calls into our room to get us to meet with them for brunch was a huge "No-No" as we had our daughter napping at the time. As far as we are concerned, if you cannot sell the actual program in 30 minutes, then it cannot be such a great deal. It is as easy as that: tell me the advantages, the cost difference etc, and I might consider. But DO NOT waste my precious vacation time.

Sandos Caracol Nature Resort and Water Park: Spectacular resort

We enjoyed everything about our stay right from start to finish. The service, food, beverages, accomodations, entertainment and particularly the environment were all amazing. A great ecological experience in the midst of wildlife and mayan ruins. Their support of and education on the mayan culture was captivating.

Barcelo Maya Colonial: No disappointments here!

A well maintained and very attractive resort with everything anyone could want - lovely swimming pools, beautiful beach and landscaped grounds. Our room had a couple of minor maintenance issues but on the whole was satisfactory and the bed very comfortable. Staff were great - my husband needed a wheelchair which was promptly supplied and help was readily available any time he needed it. This is a large resort but we never had to wait in line and there were hundreds of sun-loungers with plenty o [... read more]f shade. Food was very good with a big selection at the buffet and wonderful dinners at the "a la carte" restaurants. We enjoyed watching the daily dolphin shows too!

Royalton Riviera Cancun Resort and Spa: Great vacation!

The resort was the best I've ever been to, clean, the staff was very helpful, the food amazing! Loved that you didn't need a reservation at the alacarte restaurants and that these were unlimited, this adds great value and is hard to find. The only complaint was that the resort was far away from everything.

Sunscape Sabor Cozumel: Sunscape Sabor Cozumel

A very quaint resort . Everything is close by. Food is good and they offer different menus at the three restaurants. Hotel rooms very clean, but can use a bit of updating. However while we were there, we noticed that they were renovating certain rooms. Service and all the employees are excellent and very helpful. Always had clean towels and no problems finding chairs at the beach or pool. A very nice stay.

Las Palmas by the Sea: Average Resort.

The resort is well maintained, however, the quality and choice of food has deteriorated since the last time I was there last year. it feels as though the food is recycled from lunch to dinner. as well it is absolutely and totally flavorless. After the second day, I was ready to call it quits with lunch and dinner. breakfast was acceptable. well I call this one my detox holiday... even the a la carte is average.. sad.The beds were extremely hard as well.. came back with a backache:( as well all  [... read more]the nice staff have been fired and the staff leftover are okay..there were a few nice staff: Yolanda, Susanna, Alejandro, Sara, Valente, and of course Oscar the bartender. Royal Suites Punta Mita: Fabulous place to holiday

Wonderful staff, for whom absolutely nothing is too much trouble, great (and quiet!) rooms, amazing food and fantastic weather! The grounds are stunning and the rooms kept to the highest standards of cleanliness. What more could you need from a holiday??

Riu Palace Las Americas: Cancun's Finest

Comparing the resorts I have stayed at in Cancun, I can say that this is one of my favorites. The beach was clean, the food excellent, the rooms very well kept, and that staff the friendliest I have ever seen. I will definitely tell my friends to stay at the RIU resorts and especially this RIU Palace Las Americas.

Dreams Huatulco: Beautiful place, excellent hotel

Just came from Dreams Huatulco 2 days ago and already want to go back. The service was amazing, rooms very clean (maid service twice a day) and comfortable, the staff and local people are very friendly and welcoming. All in all, it was a problem-free vacation from start to finish. We had a very relaxing trip.

El Cozumeleno Beach: Great bacation

We got a great price through Katreryna at tripcemtral and great service frime her as well. Elcozumeleno was a very nice place to stay. Staff is excellent and rooms are nice , big and clean. Food in the restaurant where you make reservations was excellent. The buffet at breakfast was great lunch could have been more variety and a bit better. They did have a menu to order from so we did that most of the week and that was great. Really good for snorkelling, the fish swim right beside you. One morn [... read more]ing a baby crocodile showed up but it was contained quickly and we were assured that this was the first time that it has happened. All in all an excellent and relaxing time at this resort.

Sunset Plaza Beach Resort & Spa: Great location, great view!

Very nice hotel. All rooms are ocean view and what a nice view if you are located high enough. We were very lucky to see everything from the 15th floor. At this hotel there are only 2 restaurants and one deli but all had very good food and very good service. No buffet and not a loud party place either. It all depends what you are looking for. Rooms, grounds, restaurants, etc are all very clean. Only thing I didn't care for were the vendors on the beach and they are all over PV beach. Would I  [... read more]go back to this hotel? Yes, as it was not busy crowded, loud and the service was great all around.

Grand Sirenis Riviera Maya: Simply lovely

The property itself is massive, I believe 90 acres. The majority of it is a lush,natural, eco reserve, full of native animals like coati and capybaras,and many butterflies as well. The resorts buildings are all 3 stories, so the view of the jungle is unimpeded. Our building (Llek) faced the ocean and was immaculate,if a little dated. The beaches were a wee rocky, but the snorkelling was amazing. And I can't say enough good things about the staff. Fantastic!
