Iberostar Waves Rose Hall Beach: Good but not great

We recently (Nov2019) stayed at this hotel . It’s was our first family vacation with our little one who is 2. First impressions were that lobby was very nice and elegant. Staff quickly checked us in but did however try to get us to come to the “welcome breakfast” aka time share meeting. I knew this wasn’t going to be possible with 2 year old boy especially in the morning. It was my husbands birthday and told 2 staff members hoping there would some sort of surprise for him. I was totall [... read more]y disappointed in the lack of attention for this even though they did say we would do something. Sometimes these little things go a long way. Our room didn’t have the view I anticipated. The balcony had a high concrete wall so couldn’t see much. I even asked the front desk if any other room were available. Supposedly they were too full. Since we had our little doing a restaurant didn’t seem like the right fit for us so we stuck to the buffet, which was great. Everyday there was lots of options however I could tell food was repurposed. In addition, there was lots of construction which took away from the beautiful grounds . I avoided taking pictures of that side. The beach was beautiful and clean . Excellent view! I loved how the wifi connection was throughout the entire property. For this being our first family trip I think it was a good starting point. Definitely wished my husbands birthday was celebrated as I requested multiple times.

Royalton Hideaway Blue Waters: Nice resort

This is a very well kept resort where everything is clean from the rooms to the beach and in between. Great service and very friendly staff pretty much in every area. Well trained to provide a "my pleasure " response to every thanks. Have no real complaints of any sort other than they have to find a better system for their coffee service in the buffet restaurant . Coffee only comes after many requests and usually only after the breakfast meal is either half done or done! Bahia Principe Explore Jamaica: Fun in the sun

Great value affordable vacation in Jamaica without compromise. The pool bar centre activities were a blast. Excellent quite area options in multiple pools plus extensive beach areas to explore. Food was beyond expectations with 4 a la cartes each one offering tasty full menus.

Bahia Principe Escape Runaway Bay: Terrible Resort

Upon arrival they were very friendly and the check in process was fast. The rooms were very clean and that is the only nice thing I have to say. There was often no water and electricity at the beach bar. They had ice, bottled water, juices and pop but refused to serve drinks. Don't go expecting to have service at the beach because you won't ! Staff was always trying to sell legal and illegal substances. We did not feel safe at the beach and the staff was very rude! This is not a 5 star resort

Riu Palace Tropical Bay: What a great resort for our wedding and honeymoon

This resort was highly recommended from a friend and it truly did not disappoint. The staff were extremely friendly and accommodating, the food was excellent with a great variety of choices, the room was spotless every day and everything around the resort was neat and tidy. Without exception we will be returning to Riu Palace Tropical Bay.

Couples Negril: Incredible Trip!

This resort has some of the most beautiful grounds - landscaping is the first noticeable thing, with mature, lush foliage. It may have been around for some time, but it feels new and very well maintained. Room is the most modern and comfortable I've seen at an all-inclusive. Bahia Principe Escape Runaway Bay: Beautiful Property

Choosing Jamaica was easy; however we had never been so a resort was a harder choice but we are so thankful we chose Luxury Bahia Principe Runaway Bay. We cannot say enough about how amazing our experience here was - everything from the check-in to the welcome we received upon entering our room was flawless. Food was amazing, pool was perfect, staff were phenomenal & the beach was beautifult! We cannot wait to book our next trip to this property!

Excellence Oyster Bay: Loved it all!

We really enjoyed our stay at Excellence Oyster Bay! The resort was beautiful, the staff were so friendly and helpful and the food was delicious. We fell in love with the jerk sauce. Order a pizza at Oregano with a side of jerk sauce and thank me later. We’re really glad we did a beach house, we loved our room and it gave us access to the entire resort, including the villa area. I can see how not being a part of the Excellence club might make the resort feel a bit small but for us it was the p [... read more]erfect size. We also had a great beach right out front of our patio. We had a lot of fun at Spice for the teppanyaki. The wine for purchase in the restaurants was better than any other I’ve seen at an all inclusive. We also visited the spa quite a few times which we really enjoyed. This was definitely the vacation we were looking for. Something relaxed where we felt pampered and could unwind.

Couples Swept Away: Great Stay at Swept Away

Overall this was a great hotel. The areas for improvement would be their service is hit or miss, but was especially bad in the Palms Restaurant and the Fish Taco lunch spot. Also the nightly entertainment (except the steel drum band) was pretty bad each night. With that said, if you are looking for a resort with great food, an amazing beach and quiet atmosphere for R&R then this is a great option. Riu Ocho Rios: Great family resort

I was more than satisfied with all aspects of the resort. I visited with three generations of the family, there was something great there for everyone. My young grand-children were particularly happy with the various activities available there. The adults also had a wonderful vacation. The nightly entertainment was excellent.Alic

Riu Palace Tropical Bay: Great resort except for Sunwing Rep

Resort is newly renovated and very clean. Beach is beautiful with lots of chairs. Pools are okay but often crowded with kids. Rooms are a good size with nice modern bathroom. Bars are great and have an extensive drink menu. Coffee bar in lobby and 24 hour snack bar are nice touches. Food was surprisingly good for an all inclusive. Jerk Hut on beach, Japanese restaurant and the buffet were favourites. Staff were really good and went out of their way for you. I would go to this resort again  [... read more]but not with Sunwing Vacations. The rep at the resort was unhelpful to the point of being rude, online check-in for the flights was non existent and our flight was delayed by 2 hours which meant we had to spend 5 hours at the Montego Bay airport.

Royalton Hideaway Blue Waters: Good Resort

Every thing was very good Accept the room, No cold water In the washroom think, and after too many complaints, finally they send some body Saturday one day before we left and when we came the room and the washroom wasn't clean .

Catalonia Montego Bay: Good resort

The hotel environment is very commercial, more like of a 3 star resort, but we enjoyed the water and the sun. We had to change the room, although we paid a premium for a deluxe rom with a front ocean view that was actualy partial view and with a toilet we had to ask to be repaird 3 times in two days. We ended up paying more to upgrade to a real front ocean view and no toilet problems. We expected inside restaurants to be included, but 4 out of 6 charged between 20 to 29 USD. Our Canadian [... read more] debit cards did not work and the trips were provided at a double price than the actual entrance fees with transportation included (we paid online 70 USD for Dolphin Cove instead of 129 USD advertised by Sunwings at the hotel, which is a little exagerated). When we booked on tripcentral, we saw different types of room than those defined by the hotel on their website. We still did not udnerstand what is the correspondence between all those 5 types of rooms on your site and the 2 types on Holiday Inn webste (standard and suite). We asked at the reception if we can accummulate points at holiday Inn, so we can start building up points, and we were given a form, but after we filled it in, they said they did not know who has it, so we do not know how to do it.

Couples Swept Away: Would recommend to anyone.

The people are what make this place amazing. Thank you to everyone that was kind and helpful. A special mention to Nurse J who was there when we needed her. She was attentive, kind and very thoughtful.

Legends Beach Resort: well worth the trip

The hotel was great in perfect location to walk and travel the beaches for Miles ... rooms are great size clean only issue is mattress extremely firm but ask for more pillows and was given right away ... very friendly and helpful staff very laid back resort .. food was great about of diffrent choices just meal times where very specific ie lunch 12 till 2 after that no food or snacks served till dinner at 7 till 9 ... over all great resort and would definitely would go back

Bahia Principe Escape Runaway Bay: Simply amazing!!!!

The beach on the luxury side was so nice. All of the restaurants had amazing food. At the ala cartes your given too much food. The grounds are very well kept. Gardens are well maintained the resort is very clean. This was our first time at the luxury side and will definitely be going back

Secrets St James: Excellent Resort

Excellent grounds and gardens. Dining very good but needs diary free options. Very well appointed rooms. The bedside tablets were helpful. Housekeeping very good. Beach and pools are well tended with good lounge chairs.

Bahia Principe Escape Runaway Bay: Disappointing

Hotel itself is beautiful and clean. Beaches are amazing, and pools are super fun. Food and service were a huge disappointment. We got sick from the food almost everyday. And the service was awful. It was like we were annoying the staff with any request or complaint.

Iberostar Selection Rose Hall Suites: Beautiful Property

We had a lovely family vacation at the Iberostar Rose Hall Suites. It is a beautiful property with lots to offer. The staff are friendly, helpful and courteous. The food is overall very good (a few bland meals, but mostly delicious). Only area of improvement for me would be the speed of service - my sister ordered room service and it took over 2 hrs. Unacceptable. Otherwise, everything else was great!

Iberostar Selection Rose Hall Suites: Great Hotel

My family and I visited Iberostar Selection Rose Hall Suites in Montego Bay for 6 days. For my review, I'm going to break down some key areas then provide my rating based on my overall experience. Property - my first impression of the hotel was that it was beautiful. The property is well kept by the attending staff and for a clean freak like myself that's extemely important. 5/5 Staff- the staff are friendly, some more than others. There was an African male front desk agent that went above and beyond for me and the gentlemen at the front desk are always welcoming. Some staff get what 5 star service means, others need some work. 4/5 Food - the food varies and I think it depends on the cook. Sometimes the food is really good and sometimes it taste bland. Not sure what's happening with the ketchup but it tasted watered down and the consistency was very watery. One chef had an actual ketchup bottle, which I appreciated. However, for the most part, there is a good variety of authentic Jamaican dishes, as well as American options. I recommend booking reservations to the various restaurants throughout your stay. Also take advantage of the Beaches restaurants. Their buffet is bigger and has more variety than the Suites. 4/5 Entertainment- from the organized activities to the nightly shows, this team delivers. Kevin Hart 2.0 is the perfect host. The Michael Jackson and Magic Shows were 2 of my favorites. The group is really talented and does an awesome job each and everyday. Tip: check out entertainment at the Beaches as well. Ex: if you can't attend a particular show, they may have that show available at the Beaches. 5/5 Pool Bar - I had to review these guys separately as they are all 5 star employees. I sat and watched their interactions with various guests, and to me, this is what 5 star service is all about. The team knew their "regulars" (including my 8 yr old son) and delivered delicious mixes, shots and drinks. They gave great recommendations and are always smiling, happy and entertaining. 5/5 Spa - this is a MUST DO! I highly recommend getting a sp treatment. Especially if you got resort credit and insurance. My masseuse was StacyAnn and she was fabulous. She knew the muscles and worked my body. The entire session was a whole mood/experience. 5/5 Guest Service - This is strictly a rating on Yosilda. I had an incident upon my first night and I shared it with the Assistant Guest Service Manager, Yosilda and she went above and beyond to ensure my situation was rectified and I was comfortable during the rest of my stay with personal daily checkup. She understands the meaning of "quality service, guest satisfaction and 5 star experience" 5/5 Overall stay - Although my trip started off on the rocky side, it ended very positively. The team at the Suites do have some work to do on small areas to truly make the experience a 5 star experience, however, I enjoyed my stay and would recommend the Iberostar Selection Rose Hall Suites. 4/5 overall rating.
