Iberostar Coral Esmeralda: Cute Quiet Resort Except…

This hotel was fantastic until the very last day. They have lots of options for food and everything is very cleanly. The staff here are incredibly friendly and helpful. However, one particular receptionist -Dennis- should be fired and you should stay away at all cost. Very rude, disrespectful, and unprofessional. I had asked for a late checkout the night before as our bus was not leaving until 5:00 and the staff there told me that we just need to pay after we checkout. When I went up at around 2 [... read more]:00 (planned checkout at 5:00 and regularly checkout at 12:00), Dennis rudely asked “do you know what time it is?” as if I didn’t know. He then proceeded to deny us our late b/c checkout was at 12:00. When I explained to him that we were told to pay when we leave and that the staff the night before wrote this in the reception notebook, he refused to check the notes as he “doesn’t care” while also refusing to allow me to speak with his manager about this matter. The whole situation took 2 hours to settle and for them to do the simple task of allowing me to pay and activating the key card for my room. This could have been a 10/10 trip if it were not for this.

Melia Jardines del Rey: Great 1st time Caribbean all inclusive

Great value nice room. Staff were nice and helpful.Food buffet was a bit of a mess at times and one of sit down restaurants was overwhelmed and under serviced. Overall was impressed for 1st time experience

Hotel Playa Coco: Amazing resort!

We had an excellent time at the resort. The grounds felt very well kept and clean. The staff there was amazing, everyone was very friendly and welcoming during our stay. The beach was superb, conditions were great for swimming and sunbathing. The evening concert shows were very entertaining, and the music was addictive to listen to. The restaurant buffet had satisfying food, and the waiters were doing a great job. The bars and bartenders were also very nice and delivered all the drinks we asked  [... read more]for. The hotel room itself was good, and big space to unload all our luggage. The housekeepers attentive to cleaning the room daily and uplifting our spirits with nice bedfolding displays. All in all, we had a great time at Hotel Playa Coco and would recommend their services to anyone thinking of visiting Cuba and having a good time in the sun and water.

Memories Caribe Beach Resort: Resort was ok

The people at the resort was really nice. They do did what the could service was great. The people in the lobby bar were fantastic. The complaints I have were the mosquitoes and sand fleas. They are us alive even having bug spay did not help. They need to fog the place in the morning and evening this would have helped. The place Is very dated needs repair the bed we had was broken they did fix it but the mattress are so worn out it’s sad. The toilet in one of the rooms was not even bolted dow [... read more]n. They need to spend some money in this resort I would only give it a 3 it could be a 4 if they just put some Money into it. Food was Cuba food you would not have starved. no coke witch was sad and no shrimp . I would not come back the reason would be the bugs need to addressed. We talked to others at the airport that went to different resorts and said they had no issues with mosquitoes or sand fleas. They said they fogged every day in the morning and Evening on the beach and in the resort.

Grand Aston Cayo Paredon Beach Resort: Very Nice Resort, except for the food.

Je donne un 3 étoiles à cause de la nourriture (voir commentaires) et l'Internet (pas de connexion même dans le lobbie) C'est un immense complexe hôtelier. Le personnel est courtois et sympatique (A1). 4 grandes belles piscines pour adultes dont la profondeur mesure 1.30 mètre en montant donc pas accessible pour les personnes qui ne savent pas nager comme moi. Le buffet est ouvert le matin et le midi. Le soir: 2 restaurants à la carte sont ouverts soit brésilien ou mexicain soit italien ou asiatique et buffet 2 autres soirs. La nourriture était couci couça, les chefs ne savaient pas cuisiner (ex.: le spagetti vongole était des pâtes avec du fromage râpée, pas de sauce, sans palourdes: le chef disait que c'est cuit dans du bouillon de palourdes!...). Les buffets étaient, relativement, bons grâce à la section grillade: choix de poissons, boeuf, poulet, porc, langoustes, palourdes. Pas beaucoup de fruits car c'est le début de ''l'hiver'' à Cuba (décembre 2022) * Très belle plage, rocailleux à plusieurs endroits (souliers pour mancher dans l'eau à recommander). Il ventait beaucoup quand on était là bas. La mer était houleuse. Il faisait froid quand on sortait de l'eau. Mais lorsque le vent tombait, la mer devenait calme, l'eau très claire, c'était un vrai plaisir de nager. ** petite mise en garde: lorsqu'il ne ventait pas, vous devenez la proie des moustiques. Les excursions en catamaran (85US) ou visite à la plage de Playa Pilar incluant la plongée en apnée et la visite d'une petite île (40US) à 2km de la plage NE VALENT PAS LE COUP. C'est un attrape touriste. En catamaran,on ne voyait pas de poissons car il ventait, l'eau était trouble. Au large de Playa Pilar, le courant était très très fort et on n'a que 30mn (?) de plongée, quelques mini poissons en vue. Le vendeur à l'hôtel disait qu'un bateau avec un fond de verre viendra nous chercher. Surprise, c'était un petit bateau de pêche. À l'allée, le bateau avait fait 2 voyages pour nous emmener jusqu'à l'île, car nous étions 15 personnes. Au retour, il ont embarqué tout le monde sur le bateau (!): la moitié en avant du bateau et l'autre moitié en arrière. Il n'y avait rien sur l'ile, juste un petit resto ou' on nous servait le lunch avec 2 ''drinks'' c'est à dire 2 petits verres de liqueur ou de bière (=1 canette). Les boissons alcoholisés sont à vos frais. La plage de Playa Pilar mesure à peine 500m de long et il n'y a rien à voir. Elle n'a rien de comparable aux magnifiques plages, longant l'hôtel, sur 7km.

Tryp Cayo Coco: Needs TLC

Staff were great and helpful with many speaking English. However, the resort is looking tired and they really need to fix the lower pond. The smell is overwhelming, and a mosquito breeding ground. They have started to fix the sidewalks along the East side of they complex, which is nice. The beach is amazing and crystal clear.

Melia Cayo Coco: The perfect winter getaway

As seniors, we look for destinations with a long, sandy beach and crystal clear water. The Melia Cayo Coco has both. There are lots of beach chairs and palapas, so that even though the resort appeared to be fully booked, there were always chairs available. The grounds are very well maintained, with a group of gardeners working diligently every day. Our accommodation was adequate and perfectly clean. Cleanliness seemed to be an important factor throughout the resort. While we read some c [... read more]ritiques citing a shortage of vegetables at the restaurants, we found a salad bar at the buffet restaurant every day as well as one or two vegetables. There was a selection of 3 kinds of fish as well as some meat. The fish was delicious, while the meat is not what we are used to. What we liked best about the resort were the people. Everyone was so kind, happy and appeared to like their job. It was a pleasure to be around them. And now one negative: The Wi-Fi has some limitations: Microsoft Office Outlook would not connect (no email), neither would Zoom, but Netflix worked.

Gran Muthu Imperial: Great New Resort

Hello , the resort is quite new and location is good as well , close to playa pilar beach , delphinario , stafd if friendly , water activites like sailing and other boat activites are free , also theres a spa , small market , bowling alley and disco . The only thing is you need beach shoes for swimming as there a rocks on the shore, alternatively you can goto cayo guillermo beach and also the occupancy was low during our stay - so not much of entertainment happening while we were there . Iberostar Selection Esmeralda: Great resort

Everything is great in that resort. It’s brand new one with great layout and design is 21 century in all details. It’s about 1 hour from airport and if you enjoy Cuban beaches this will be right for you. Coral level bit more advance.

ADMINISTRATION REACTED VERY QUICLY FOR ANY PROBLEM WERE FOUND STUFF VERY FRIENDLY ESPETIALY CHIF COOK, NIDIA ,LIA ,BAR IN FRONT OFFICE WORKING EXELENT .WE SAW THEY LIKE CANADIANS VERY MUCH MORE THEN RUSSIANS Canadians understand that it is poor people and always gave tips .What need to be changed i believe to return how it was some years ago to make lunch inside the restoran not on barbecue because in 2 weeks we were tired to eat the same food on lunch and as I was a medical doctor when food o [... read more]utside flies around meet and many peoples waiting sometimes could be not ready and result intestinas infections!

Muthu Colonial Hotel: GREAT FAMILY SPOT

Pleasant staff. Beautiful stay. It's a bit older and ot as modern as some. But it was clean and lots to do. The staff were nice and easy to deal with. Front desk was great and always able to help us with anything we needed. We are a family of 5. Our kids had a great time.

Melia Cayo Coco: Awesome

It was very clean including the beach, raked everyday and had a machine to pick up the weeds. The swimming pool could of been heated a bit. The food was great and the servers were good. The people at front desk were helpful with the wifi connection and fixed problems Staff took the time to make sure the washrooms were cleaned.

Grand Muthu Cayo Guillermo: Great hotel

Nice spacious rooms with most rooms offerimg ocean views. Very nicely laid out facilities with acess ro nice beach and good swimming. All on all very good value. Would not hesitate to go back. Based on what we saw it is the best hotel in the area

Hotel Playa Paraiso: Warm and welcoming

First time at a smaller resort where everything is only a 5 minute walk away - very handy. Staff were all very friendly and helpful. Our room was spacious and Disnay was meticulous in cleaning it. Very inventive with his towel art too - lots of fun! Food was plentiful in the buffet but not many options for fruit. They did the best that they could with what they had to work with ... As the resort was in the middle of a bay [... read more], you could walk the beach for at least half an hour in each direction which was great to walk off all those extra calories from the delicious drinks they made at the beach bar. We took bug repellent but didn't need it as there was enough of a constant breeze to keep us cool and the bugs away. All in all, very happy with this resort.

Hotel Playa Paraiso: We are not happy...

Excellent place, nice ocean, green territory, very bad service, fair food, dirty restaurant with cockroaches and flies, lazy and not friendly receptionists, good beer but no pinacolato in the bars... It can be a good 4 star hotel if there was a normal top manager there who cares a little about the job he/she has to do. Just my feeling. I go to Cuba almost every year and I can compare different hotels. I don't expect too much from Cuban service, but this time is just less than expected.

Memories Flamenco Beach Resort: Nice place

Pleasant resort, we had a nice time. Beach is excellent , food was above average most of the time,actually surprisingly good. Room was ok, air conditioning running well, just the bed a little uncomfortable. Nice gardens, well maintained resort. We spent a nice vacation here. As anything in life, had some 2 star moments, but overall, the 4 star is well deserved in my opinion.

Hotel Playa Paraiso: beautiful location

rooms are old and in need to be redone including installation of bathroom fan , better specification and location of 110 volts plugs due to the fact that most guests are Canadian . grounds vegetation are great and nice to look at ,nice large swimming pool devaited in to 2 sections

Melia Cayo Coco: Excellent

We spent 11 nights at MCC and were delighted with our choice. Everybody was friendly and helpful. The resort was well-looked after, clean and tidy. The food was plentiful but not a huge variety of fresh fruit and vegetables. We had the best bacon everyday, which I put in the cucumber and mayo sandwiches for a delicious breakfast. The beach is lovely, and what little seaweed there was, was dealt with promptly. We will be back in 2023!

Hotel Playa Paraiso: December 2022

Very nice resort and beach. There was some rain and wind most days but resort even had umbrellas in the rooms. Great staff and amenities.Food was pretty good and drinks were good most times (sometimes they didn’t have certain beverages)
