Melia Caribe Beach Resort: Horrible

Well first of all the room we had on the 2nd floor flooded the first 2 nights we were there and all our clothing and suitcases got soaked, staff didn’t seem to care, the patio door didn’t close 100% reason for the flood and the mosquitoes in our room, another night we got back to our room with no towels, we called thankfully they delivered fast. Bahia Principe Explore Punta Cana: Disappointed

Our room flooded water pouring through the roof our 1 year old daughter slipped on the huge puddle on the floor smashing her head hard. Requested a new room as water was coming through the ceiling and they began to say someone will be up with a mop and bucket soon. Again I insisted NO I’d like another room and they were annoyed at my request it’s 9pm now and I’m waiting for a new room they placed a family of 4 with two small babies on the third floor having to hike 3 flights of stairs with strol [... read more]lers and beach/ poor gear. My daughter had sever allergies with anaphylaxis I emailed the hotel prior and they said go to guest services for a special card to give the chef.. (so I felt confident when booking) when I did the chef couldn’t confirm anything is there was egg in dishes or milk or nuts all three very severe allergies .. my poor daughter ate hardly anything all week I felt awful.

Bahia Principe Escape Aquamarine: Amazing resort!

Everything was excellent! Rooms are clean. Beach is amazing. Service is very good everywhere in the resort. Food are delicious in buffet and in A la cart restaurants. Entertainment is very good! We definitely coming back.

Grand Palladium Palace: Such a nice relaxing vacation!

My husband and I had such a great time at the Grand Palladium Palace, part of three hotels of grand palladium. Therefore lots of walking around, got lots of steps in but towards the end we used the trains a couple times. I do find I prefer a smaller, more quaint resort where you don't have to walk 20 minutes to a restaurant in heels, we found we had to walk to the Bavaro one quite a bit. Tried room service once, didn't find it anything special. But what you go for is the Ocean and it was amazing and a beautiful turquoise color, very inviting, we were in there a lot! Never stepped into any of the pools though, sometimes a few loud kids and loud music, much preferred the quiet beach area. Always lots of beach chairs available.

Hyatt Ziva Cap Cana: Amazing vacation!

Resort was immaculate, the food was amazing with so many options. Clean private beach with lots of chairs. People working here were so kind. You will not be disappointed in choosing Hyatt Ziva for your getaway.

Bahia Principe Escape Ambar: Great food!

This was my first time at a resort down south. It was also my first time visiting somewhere that is truly a different culture, food, and experience. Please keep in mind that their milk is not pasteurized, or homogenized. They use a third method more suitable to the tropics. This means that you can't get a good cup of tea. The creamy part of the milk is whipped and the whole thing is heated. The first time I asked for milk with my tea the waiter looked shocked. He brought a teapot full of hot [... read more], whipped milk with a touch of coffee added. Then, I looked shocked. The food was amazing, the Ala carte restaurants were even more impressive. The beach, pool, and the grounds were all amazing. While most of the staff were great and tried—even with the language difference to be helpful, a few took advantage of that fact to just coast in their jobs. Is it a deal killer? No. The room was spacious, and well-appointed except for the missing wall in the bathroom. Do not expect to get facecloths, so bring your own. It is so hot, and humid there that our room had a musty undertone most of the time.

Bahia Principe Escape Ambar: Luxury at its best

This resort is very upscale and well maintained. The food, drinks, rooms, beach, pool, entertainment and service is amazing. We had a swim up room and loved it. Will definitely return to the Ambar.

Serenade All Suites Adults Only Resort: Brand new. Would go back.

I will start with the cons which are few and not serious but can be irritating 1. The pillows are awful. 2. Lack of small ice buckets in the brand new adult section. 3. Lack of instructions on use of TV remote and the sound is controled. We had to sit right in front of the TV to hear it. Had to call maintenance to come and increase the sound. Now that that is out of the way, this resort (adult section) is beautiful, modern, has 5 pools available and has Palapas around each pool instead of umbrel [... read more]las. Grounds are well kept, do not have to get up early to get loungers (and they are padded). Animation group is hard working and very friendly. Drinks are delicious and top shelf brands provided. I would suggest that since many Canadians vacation here that they provide Clamato juice for Ceasars. Staff at all levels are professional and hard working. Buffet is varied and very good. Specialty restaurants were good as well. The PALAPPA restaurant does not need reservations and it serves Italian food in the evening. During the day, they serve BBQ food. They serve the best burgers. They are so huge that my wife and I shared one. After your evening meal, you can enjoy a cocktail at the piano bar or a specialty coffee or various flavoured martinis outside the main reception area. The rooms are huge, clean and there is alot of storage space. Balconies are large compared to other resorts we were at. Beach is very nice and you can walk out in the ocean a good distance. No snorkeling as it is very shallow. The resort is 20 minutes from the airport. Please don't be shy to tip. Very enjoyable 8 days.

Royalton Hideaway Punta Cana: Hideaway - Royalton

The hotel grounds were ok The rooms at Hideaway are an issue - patio doors are hard to open - bathroom area is ridiculously small not even enough room to put a toiletry bag down for one person let alone two The wardrobes will cut your finger off if you open it to quickly Some of the restaurants were closed due to renovations but I guess that has to happen at some point The service was appalling in my opinion - we were hideaway and diamond club Rarely did we get offered a drink and had to go [... read more] to the bar every time We stayed diamond club a few years back at this resort and the servers came around constantly asking if you would like a drink or some food - it was excellent - it is NOT the case now You have to go and get everything regardless of the level of vacation you have purchased Many others were not diamond club in hideaway and there experience was exactly the same as ours but for less money The butler did nothing - made a couple of reservations and to be honest he got those wrong on several occasions

Grand Bavaro Princess: try another place

This was my 4th time to this resort, since the renos/expansion, the food quality has dropped a lot, level of service also dropped, although some staff is amazing.. service at Rebel 24-7 was terrible.. Also, being woken up 5:30-6am every day by screaming peacocks was not very fun...

Majestic Elegance Punta Cana: Elegance at the Elegance

What a beautiful resort.,You really feel that you are in the tropics with all the beautiful Palm trees and flowers. The food is amazing. I have never had such great service. Everyone is smiling and waving. Our butler Richard was awesome. Beto at the Italian restaurant went above and beyond. I will definitely be back again!

Royalton Bavaro Resort and Spa: A Great Time

Attended this resort at the end of April/beginning of May. Here are my thoughts. Check in was extremely quick (even though we were not Diamond Club). We arrived around 3pm. A bellboy took us to our rooms however our wrist bands did not work and we had to return to the front desk to have them corrected. Not a big deal as we hit the front desk after our first buffet dinner. There were some Americans who had arrived around the same time as us and were very upset with how long their check in was [... read more] taking and were very vocal regarding their complaints about not having immediate access to their room when they arrived. We did not have this experience. Our room was gorgeous, large and exactly as depicted in the resort photos. We had a swim out room and wow was that a great upgrade. The pool in our building was cleaned regularly and fresh towels were let for us daily. We saw no bugs whatsoever in our room and it was cleaned by the maid very well. My only complaint would be the towels and bedding linen are quite worn and should be replaced. Food was stellar;buffet fantastic, Rio, Hunter, Oceanside and the Japanese all fantastic. Our party of 4 arrived at 6 for dinner and always obtained a table without a wait. No need for reservations. Drinks were also spot on and even tried some new ones. We tried room service twice and found the food arrived very cold but it was still a great perk. We had dinner at the Sportsbar one evening and found the found cold and not great but not a deal breaker for us. Scoops - coffee shop and dessert place was excellent. Highly recommend the coffee there compared to the buffet. Treats were delicious too! Pools were beautiful and staffed with lifeguards. TONS and i'm not at all exaggerating when i say tons of chairs and umbrellas/shade were available. No issues in getting fresh towels either. The beach was drop dead gorgeous. I was bitten by some bug and had quite the allergic reaction even while using bug spray, an anti-histamine and hydrocortisone cream. So if you are delicious like me prepare in advance. The lazy river or as we called it, the combat zone was super fun. The only drawback is the entertainment. It is completely lacking here. We have travelled fair amount and this was by far the worst resort for entertainment. This is somewhere the resort needs to improve upon. All in all a great time and I would recommend to a friend.

Sunscape Coco Punta Cana: Amazing Resort

It's a fantastic find! The combination of great food, spacious rooms, cleanliness, attentive service, and accessibility for all makes it a standout choice. An upgrade to Sunclub, adults area with own beach area makes it a nice, quiet relaxing experience. A medium.sized resort with big perks - that's a winning formula!

Bahia Principe Escape Aquamarine: Just "ok"

This is in no way a "5-star" hotel. Most likely a "3-star" Rooms are awful: bed the worst I have ever slept in; outdated; old. Food: some hits (Limbo, Fish Market) and misses (Portfino); buffet provided a huge selection which was good Entertainment: the staff is the best - engaging and friendly, all day long; some of the shows were hits (fire show, white party, boogie show) and misses (live music) Guest services: seemed really put off when you ask for assistance Grounds: very clean, beauti [... read more]ful Walkability: the resort itself is quite isolated and you do not need a trolley to get around from your room > buffet > pool > lobby area. However if you want to visit other resorts or go to the beach, you can grab a trolley on the main path. Beach: it is a 10-15 minute walk. Make sure you remember everything you need to bring or else it is a long walk back; very clean and beautiful. Excursions: there is someone in the lobby to answer your questions and book trips: very easy and excellent customer service Pool: very clean; divided into 3 areas; did not have any issue getting a lounger Bugs: terrible - you will get bitten and bitten a lot. Check in/out: easy; small fee to check out later if your travel plans are delayed; bit confusing to see that there are 2 lobbies within the resort Air Transat: never again - vent cover blew off upon landing and hit someone on the head- scary to witness considering the news of windows and doors being smashed open on other airlines; 7+ hours delayed getting home plus removal of unruly passengers which added to the delay; customer service was non-existent

Caribe Deluxe Princess: Great experience

The resort was clean and beautiful. Lots of animals on site, very cool experience. Good variety of restaurants, but sometimes service was subpar. Great bar staff. Nice beach, but sometimes hard to find two chairs together. Decent night entertainment. Overall, good experience!

Royalton Bavaro Resort and Spa: Mixed thoughts!

The resort in its entirety was decent. The food was fantastic definitely no issues with that. The servers were always more than happy to help. The buildings/pools desperately needs attention. There are tiles missing, capping falling off the bars and steps. Our room was in need of repairs, the drawers wouldn’t close, the sliding door wouldn’t close so our air conditioning wouldn’t work. Resort was clean and so that’s what we were happy with!

Bahia Principe Escape Aquamarine: Wonderful Holiday

The Bahia group of hotels is very nice. Lots of walking which we like but if you dont there are regular trollies. The Aquamarine that we stayed in was nice but getting a little tired and needed some repairs. You could book as many dinners as you wanted at any of the hotels. The food was very good. The beach was gorgeous and you could walk forever. They need more huts for shade though.

Zel Punta Cana - All Suites: Resort was not bad

In general stuff was nice and kind but for our last 4 days we had issues with room cleaning service they didn’t come to do clean up our room even we requested 3 times after the second day of that they didn’t clean they come some excuse with shortage of stuff and the last night we found cockroaches in our room after we reported nobody involved with I d like to speak with the manager the didn’t even called me. Other issue is pools weren’t clean enough especially kids pool never seen cleaning.jacu [... read more]zzi wasn’t working at our balcony.

Grand Palladium Palace: Great resort

The hotel has great amenities. Lots of choices for things to do. Many pools. Great for kids. Rooms were kept in good shape. Only down fall was the beach is very small and has erroded a bit. Lots of entertainment staff.

Breathless Punta Cana Resort: Brilliant Resort - something for everyone

Now I'll start quickly with the negatives -Rooms are dated (although beds extremely comfortable) -Outdoor space on the ground floor of rooms kind of reminded me of an unkept patio. Now enough of that - because I didn't spend much time in my room Food - Excellent. Typical All Inclusive meals, but everything was plentiful and flavourful. The French Restaurant was my favourite. I had the Exhale suite and with that came access to a VIP pool. This was a quiet space where you could truly RELAX The Activity Pool was great during the day....lots of space and the entertainment team always was around to get you involved in something should you choose to Party Pool - At 3pm everyday the DJ sets up and the party begins. Nightlife - shows were decent and everyone was having a great time.
