Royalton Hicacos Resort and Spa: Royalton Nicaso Luxury resort and spa varadero cuba

We had many problems at the hotel, first they could not supply us with a room with 2 beds and we viewed 5 rooms and none were any better than the next.so they had to bring a cot in and set it up in the seating space. The resorts rooms are very dated with showers all rusted , patio doors very very hard to open, was not able to control air conditioner in your room set at one temperature always which during the day made it very hot, and the last day our air conditioner decided not to work. The bl [... read more]ow dryers are ancient and burnt my friends hair pieces of her hair came out. None of the bathrooms on the property other than your rooms had toilet paper , ran out of all different kinds of liquor, juices fruit, would not recommend this hotel as a luxury hotel maybe a 3star

Iberostar Origin Bella Vista Varadero: Definitely be back

We stayed here at Bella Vista and they exceeded all my expectations and we will definitely be back.. We've been to Cuba probably over 10 times and this for me was my best experience, the savings was a bonus..

Hotel Playa Paraiso: Definitely not a 3 or 4 star !

To start with. The people are amazing minus the girls at the front desk. We had a great welcome and check in. But then the trouble started. We had 3 rooms and ind room flooded out coming out of wall. We asked for another room as we couldn't sleep in 3 inches of water. It took us 2 hours to finally get another at midnight. Lots of eye rolling and negativity. Then next day customer service offered us 2 2 suites and the 2nd room had flooded throughout day. So again move. Finally got suites and a 3 [... read more]rd room flooded this time through air conditioner vent. Our safe didn't work. So carried money and passports on us. We never got the free rum promised as air canada has stated. The 2 suites were without any water for 2 full days along with all rooms in that building. Finally water came on but cold only. The last room we were moved into a ocean view basic but no hot water for 2 days in that other building. Everytimexwe went to desk it was promises of tomorrow and nothing. We watched many people complain. One guy was 4 days with no water in his room. The food was good and plenty of, the pool was good and quiet and beach beautiful. They do not chsnfe your bedding at all in the 8 days and you also do NOT get fresh towels ever. We used the same towel for 8 days. The coffee shop never ever opened when we were there and the one restaurant al la carte never opened either. They had wild boars running around at night. Entertainment was good and drinks were okay. I never complain about food or drink as you expect that as CUBA. We asked for all 3 rooms in same building but never ever got and we had requested thru trip central. We made do without buns, bread, or any rolls for 4 days as they didn't have but again cuba so it was fine. All in all we survived other than the 3 different rooms we had to change 3 times each. The girls at the desk need some coaching how to treat customers and quit with the attitude and broken promises.

Grand Aston Cayo Las Brujas: Great resort

Had an amazing time on our girls trip! Food & drinks were good, staff very friendly. Rooms clean & spacious. Pools & beach amazing. Only complaint was lack of toilet paper and cleanliness of public washrooms.

Sanctuary at Grand Memories Santa Maria: Sanctuary at Grand Memories

We loved our 11 day stay at Sanctuary. Our room was ocean view and in need of some updating but it was very clean. There is a wonderful market not far from the resort that has restaurant's, shops and a bowling alley. Staff were so amazing and helpful The beach is breath taking. My daughter was lucky enough to see 6 dolphins we will definitely go back to this resort

Paradisus Princesa Del Mar: Good Resort

The first room we checked in to was dark and outdated. The toilet wasn't working well. We upgraded to royal service room and it was amazing except for one big complaint. No north American plugs in the room to charge your cell phones and so each night we had to ask lobby or snack bar to charge our phones. We stayed in room 7256 and it was awesome except for the charger situation. There is a USB plug under the TV but it works slower than molasses. People are friendly at this resort. Go meet Y [... read more]ohan at the snack bar, hes the best. Ask him for the Yohan special drink. It's fruity and amazing. The sunning rep Dainerys is amazing. You can find her in the lobby every day. I highly recommend the day tour in to Havana to see Tropicana. It was beautiful show. Pool is clean at this hotel surrounded by beautiful birds singing. They have lots of activities. Salsa with Kevin and Laudy is so fun. Would come back again.

Paradisus Princesa Del Mar: This resort is a gem for those looking for romance, relaxation and stellar service

We have returned to this resort 4 times in 17 months and each trip has been amazing! We have celebrated an anniversary and 50th birthday at the resort during these vacations as well. We have been amazing at the attention to details for these two celebrations and the enthusiasm and kindness of the staff. The beach is breathtaking, the food has been excellent with lots of variety, the staff will try their hardest to accommodate any requests you may have. They are friendly, kind and always smiling. [... read more] The rooms for both the regular Jr suite and the upgraded Royal package are both amazing value. The Royal package lives up to the name and you are treated Royally! The deep soaker jetted tub, Buttler service and patio area will add to the relaxation and the romance! We love this resort and it’s stellar staff and will continue to book here in the future.

Sanctuary at Grand Memories Santa Maria: Amazing vacation at Sanctuary Grand Memories!

Beautiful beaches , amazing staff all around , the butler service was amazing , saw dolphins swimming by on the beach ,the pool bar had a great atmosphere , we enjoyed the sunshine so much we didn’t make it much later after dinner , we had an amazing day deep sea fishing ! Only complaint was the sanctuary buffet had so many flies as it was an open air buffet but we had access to grand memories buffet and the selection was great ! We are hoping to go back in November ! Paradisus Princesa Del Mar: Sick upon arriving home.

This resort is old and ugly, esp the lobby and the NON royal service section. Rooms are like dark dungeons in the non Royal Service section. Our first room did not have hot water or a working toilet, and the front desk would not help us until we contacted Trip Central and the Sunwing Rep and threatened to sue. They upgraded us to Royal Service which was not much better. No water pressure, and luke warm water at best. Not enough towels in the room, and maid would not change towels to clean  [... read more]ones when they were clearly dirty, I have never encountered this on any all inclusive in cuba or otherwise. Please note we tipped the maid $3 per day plus $10 in give aways DAILY. WE TIPPED VERY WELL and GAVE A LOT OF BRAND NEW GIFTS. So clearly this is not an incentive to change your dirty towels. There was not enough beach towels to exchange on a daily basis. Further, no beach towel service exchange at Royal Service which is closer to the beach and far from the other part of resort where you had to exchange towels. So much for royal service ... I would like to mention the butler service is pathetic and it should be removed and not mentioned as it is a lie, we never saw our butler not once. They further gave us a courtesy room that we booked in advance to freshen up before our flight after an excursion and the room had NO towels... again NOT ENOUGH CLEAN TOWELS. so what's the point? This sums up how this resort works, nothing sticks together. Food was awful and tasteless, its like being on a diabetic diet all week... i would compare the food to hospital food Very boring resort as well and the beach was nice, but not nearly as nice as cayo coco or cayo santa maria. Overall I found this resort to do the bare minimum. They did not have two beds for me and my friend when we arrived although its what we paid for..... and lied the resort was full and shoved us at night after all day traveling in a one bed room with no hot water OR working toilet. I do not recommend this resort, and quite frankly i don't think others are much better. Beach was windy. On top of everything we are both very sick upon arriving home although we did leave the resort for excursions. The only good thing is you never had to reserve a sun chair at pool or beach. Overall a hard no, and overall VARADERO is a hard no for beach go to cayo coco where people are more friendly, ,its cheaper, and beaches are nicer. .... Cuba has really gone downhill since I last visited in 2014. Further, the resort lacked basic hygiene in bed sheets, towels, cups, plates were all very dirty. I will not recommend this resort to anyone and I will not be coming back.

Melia Peninsula Varadero: Great resort!

Beth suggested the Melia Peninsula and it was a great hotel. The staff were very friendly and attentive. It was a quiet resort, which was perfect for us. The food was good; we had no problem eating more than we should have - the fresh made pasta and omelettes were a hit. The beach and pool were lovely, and we had no trouble getting a lounger (didn't have to race down early to get a spot). Overall, we really enjoyed our stay.

Grand Aston Cayo Las Brujas: Wonderful relaxing vacation

We found the Grand Aston Las Brugas to be very comfortable and welcoming . We had a nice king bedroom in the Adult Section. We enjoyed the pool as well as the great bartender by the Adult pool. The ladies that worked at the Adult snack bar were very friendly and attentive. We want to mention in particular Yakimis Madrigal Peraza as a wonder house maid, she is friendly and thorough. They all made our vacation so enjoyable The musicians at the lobby were superb especially the young guitar player who did a lot of Country songs. The Michael Jackson show was spectacular. We also enjoyed the jazz bar and drinks made by Julio, he is quite talented. A special thank you also to Yanet from Holasun for her friendship and help booking an amazing lobster dinner at the One Gallery. The front desk staff including Richert were always helpful and friendly also.

Paradisus Rio De Oro: Definitely will return!

We are seniors returning from a pleasant & relaxing vacation, our first stay here. Friendly & efficient staff, plenty of food choices to satisfy, spacious & clean but older corner Junior suite room, comfortable bed & shuttle service available, plenty of sun & shady areas around pool for sitting, beautiful beach to swim or walk, beautiful grounds for walking. Amazing musical talent in lobby, poolside, restaurants & beach. Perfect size of resort for getting around. Power outages were very short &  [... read more]minimal. This was our best all inclusive experience ever!

Tryp Cayo Coco: Melia Jardines del Rey

Since Tryp needed to close to repair air conditioning issues, we ended up at Melia Jardines del Rey. The bright light there is the Air Transat rep, Yamin. She was fantastic, solving SO many problems and quickly. She deserves a raise and a commendation. The hotel staff are lovely, fun, and welcoming, typical of Cuban hospitality. Cuba may have issues but regardless of their problems, they are friendly, warm and decent human beings, who work long hours, six days a week. Grand Aston Cayo Paredon Beach Resort: Do your research

Line ups for eggs -breakfast are too long 35-45 minutes waiting for an egg . That was not a pleasant way to start yhe morning. There was bread 4 days out of 7 and the toaster does not work properly, took about 7 minutes to toast a piece of bread after waiting 20 minutes for the toaster on a average , while you wait for the bread to toast you get the evil eye from the line ups … honestly that was a deal breaker. Churros were never any left despite the 40 minutes waiting in the line up . Staff was friendly specially the cleaning ladies . They work non stop will the managers get them some mops please!!! Unfortunately we witnessed this older gentleman screaming at the staff prior to opening the buffet at lunch time .. it made me wonder if the management needs improvement? Food was ok , but lacked in so many basic ways I get it that’s Cuba but I have had by far way better food in Cuba than at this resort. Entertainment was great . Beach stunning. Will I return to this resort? No.

Brisas Guardalavaca: Excellent place to visit

First you need to remember it is Cuba...you go for the sun and the wonderful people. Food is available and so is water...there was very little entertainment due to lack of fuel for the vehicles to transport staff. Bring your own toilet paper...LOL Feel free to bring gifts for the Cuban people. They appreciate whatever you want to give them. They Love chocolate!

Beautiful grounds and beach is awesome . Waiters and waitresses are great. Food was a little lean for a couple days as they had no bread etc. but got better.this was our second time at this resort and if we go back again will book the club as it is adults only.

Grand Aston Cayo Paredon Beach Resort: Beautiful beach but lines ups everywhere

Check in was suppose to be at 4pm however my room was not ready till 5pm. There was line ups everywhere for every food station and drinks also including the buffet. They need a better system absolutely ridiculous when you have to wait and hour in line ups for food. My towels were not changed only on day 6 after multiple complaints and we only had 2 towels for 3 people. I had made the front desk aware on 3 occasions until the 4th time when I became upset and finally got towels. My room was skippe [... read more]d for cleaning on 2 occasions and I was ok with this but wanted our 2 water bottles daily. When I asked the maid she said she had no water bottles left. I went and complained and sure enough I got my water bottles. Basically lied to me as i was there when she took them out of her cart. The entertainment is repetitive. No different theme for the kids disco also. Tip tip tip they will serve those who tip first. Also they need to be mindful of children and my children went several times to get drinks for themselves water and juice and told me they were always skipped and only serving adults. This is a family resort. Only 2 bathrooms that I have seen one near the lobby and the other near the towel station. Long walk when you are spending the day on the ocean to use the bathroom. Better be up at 6am to save a spot by the ocean for the shade spot or else you won’t get a spot ridiculous. People go out early AM put towels on chairs and take off for hours at a time. On a good note the beach was the most beautiful one I have ever been at. The room were nice and cool. The pools were amazing and large enough the infinity pool that it was never crowded. Fresh beach towels daily they always had some. Staff are so friendly to everyone. They always say hi acknowledge you and they are amazing with children.

The resort is new and modern , very clean , the ground are beautiful and will look even better as it grows. We stayed in the club section adults only . Only shortage was bread for 2 days . Food was good . drinks and coffee were good. beach and pool great.

Sanctuary at Grand Memories Holguin: Great southern hospitality

First thing I’d like to say is thank you to each, and every staff member that I encountered at this resort every single one of you are great people and very down to earth and very helpful and assertive I went on this vacation by myself with minimal expectations I left the resort with great memories. Anybody that is thinking about this hotel take the opportunity to see the beach one of the best I’ve ever seen in my opinion in today’s world everybody’s opinion is different… I would also like to say a special thanks to Janet the maid from block B. She’s a very beautiful woman. And very kind. And always said good morning. Papasito made me feel real comfortable, even though I was in block a. Just passing by she even got upset when I left asked me why I didn’t tell her. I talked to her and a translator one of the staff members the day. I was leaving. She gave me the biggest hug ❤️ thank you Mamacita …as for the main pool bar you guys are absolutely the best people I’ve met on vacation in a long time. Anything I needed you guys always help me and I appreciate it more than you know. Also, the lady that worked there I’m not sure her name is off by hand called me Papasito. I appreciate it. As for the facilities the buffet I would like to say thank you to one of the girl in the buffet and I wasn’t able to get her name or picture. I do have some pictures of the staff. I would love to share this this girl at the main buffet as soon as you walk through the door during the day and walk straight ahead she has glasses she noticed that I was a little bit off, which I did have a health concern and she kept making sure that I was OK. I had plenty of water. And kept asking me if I felt OK. And if I needed anything, I didn’t have money at the time, but it meant so much to me that I walked all the way back to my room, and I returned and found her at the staff meeting. And I gave her a tip based on the service I received from her and I greatly appreciate it. She is also very beautiful and spoke alittle English as for overall cleanliness in the resort I believe it was a very clean resort you always seen people scrubbing or cleaning something. The effort was there, and they should be rewarded for it. The buffet stuff, especially the pasta bar and pizza seafood and meat bar the people work tirelessly to make sure that everybody is fed on the resort and they should also be rewarded for what they do. They’re sitting in a full suit and stifling hot conditions and they never stop. The beach bar staff deserves a lot of credit too for the service. They provide a lot of drunk people and they do a very thorough job taking care of everybody. I can’t say enough I built great memories if I were to choose a resort again, this one will always come mind I do have some pictures of the staff. I would like to share and I wanna make sure they get the credit they deserve

The service was good. The staff was great. The hotel was clean,but very humid. The smell of dampness in the room and all the clothes wet. Also met a few cockroaches in the room and the main buffet. The hotel was not full so there were always sunbeds available and no long lines for drinks or food. Also was quiet and boring for us but maybe relaxing for others.The menu in the restaurant was variable but repeating, nothing extraordinary but from the choice available you could always find smth to ea [... read more]t. Fresh pasta station was good.The beach is kind of incaved that gives some privacy but also smaller area and not the greatest view. Overall we made it a good time but will not choose it again.
