Secrets Tides Punta Cana: Beautiful Resort!

This resort is top notch! The place is beautiful! Beach is so nice, and ocean was great for swimming! Pools were great and you Never had to worry about lounge chairs as there is never any issue getting chairs. No having to worry about saving a chair early in the day. Drinks are made to order and are very good! Food was excellent and best buffet I have ever experienced. Great that the only one restaurant (Japanese) required reservations. All the rest first come first serve and we only ever [... read more] had to wait maybe 20 minutes. Service was very good, and all the staff were pleasant. Only issue was during our stay there was a large corporate conference that at times took up portions of the resort without prior notice. We were not permitted access to these areas during these times (ie. certain restaurants, bars and pool, beach areas). Overall, I would recommend and return to this resort.

Marien Puerto Plata Hotel: Nice but needs improvement

Hotel areas are clean and well kept. Great service from staff. VIP is not worth it. Rooms - are dated, missing amenities, not consistent house keeping services. No drawers to put your clothes. Coffee machines not cleaned, old and rusty. Only mirror was in the bathroom. Hard to get extra pillows and blankets, although part of VIP service, had to ask constantly before we received them. Mini bar was not filled daily. Only pop and beer. VIP lounge - great bar staff and service. Nic [... read more]e area to relax and grab coffee every morning. A al carte - reservations not needed , no special consideration for VIP. Everyone has to wait for a table, very long line ups. 3 a la cartes in total, however only 2 were open each day. Mediterranean restaurant was the best. The Mexican restaurant needs improvement. Buffet - very good, great selection each day. VIP beach area - not the best. Needs a lot of work and upgrades. Great bar service there for VIP. Pools - very nice but no swim up bar. Very limited shaded areas. Not enough umbrellas. You had wake up by 430am to reserve a shaded area. Grounds - very well kept Shows - entertaining, great staff and enjoyed the variety of shows. Overall, the hotel rooms need a major upgrade and Staff is amazing

Impressive Punta Cana: Beautiful Resort

This resort is a proven winner. It has everything needed for a fun packed, yet restful vacation. The rooms are clean; the mattresses are comfortable with the exception of the pillows; they are too hard. The buffet serves an immense variety of food for all tastes and ages. But there is not only the main buffet, but there are also mini buffets near the pools and beach that serve pizza, tacos, etc. Plus, there are 4 alla carte restaurants to choose from. If you so wish to participate in any of the many day and evening activities, the chose is yours or you can simply relax on a beautiful palm tree beach. The beach goes for miles. On site you will find all the information for off-site tours, and they are well priced. We did the Catamaran tour to Soana Island and would definitely recommend it. I will not hesitate to recommend the Impressive Punta Cana to any of my friends.

Iberostar Selection Bavaro Suites: Amazing resort, highly recommended

Riu Bambu: Will not return

Grounds were fine, roaches were in our room 2 nights out of our stay, service at the bar was amazing the first 2 days after that we pretty much had to beg for service an mind you, we were tipping at the bars and chatting up the bartenders best we could in spanish. Food was not good. On the third day our party of 13 people were all stuck on the toilet which was scary because we were afraid to eat the rest of the trip or just didnt have an appetite. One of our group had jewelry stolen from the room and had to dedicate 3 days to get resolved and the hotel gave a hard time before agreeing to accompany the guest to the police station to make a report. The beach is public and almost every day we were accosted by locals trying to sell us drugs!?? I think the best parts of this vacation was the off resort excursions we did. Doom buggys and a party boat. First and last time for us in punta cana. Probably one of the worst vacations to date.

We are seasoned travelers to this resort and we find it suits our tastes for a vacation, nice swim up room, lovely beach to walk on and it gives total relaxation. Upon arrival at your room you are greeted by a Butler who gives you a rundown of things you need to know. The other Butler (didn't get her name) was just as good as well. Very attentive The grounds of this resort are immaculate - lovely to walk around and enjoy the flowering bushes - just the total ambience gives you a lift for total relaxation Our room was well kept, very clean and well maintained and the housekeeping staff was very good as well as the night staff for turn downs. We had ample towels. No complaints. The fridge was stocked every day with want we requested There are all types of activities that are posted each day.......They have a Casino which is fun that we went to almost every night after dinner. We met some great people and had lots of fun. In the Swim-Up Pool area - there is bar that will serve you all types of liquor and specialty drinks - so convenient Plus they have introduced a "Food Truck" that features hamburgers and hot dogs - nice touch if you are not wanting to go to the Helios or Capricho or the Grill for lunch - it was a great gathering place to chat with other vacationers TRS has 5 restaurants on the property, but you can also reserve at the other resorts as well. Capricho - we tend to have breakfast and lunch here - it is buffet style but a huge variety of food for everyone's tastes - lovely breads, omelets, fruits and cheese, cold meats, lovely desserts etc. Testrizone - this is a new one for us and was during the evening hours where the menu was varied - Pizzas - quite good, Pasta - Ravioli was excellent and the grouper was outstanding La Boehem (French) - has been updated in decor which was nice and the food choices were very good depending on what is your preference Kuscko - Asian - if you like sushi - one of the best we have eaten- their 'starts" & appetizers were tasty Helios - we went for dinner - lovely atmosphere by the beach and the food was good especially the soup The other restaurants - Bamboo - it was really crowded and busy when we went - but the Salad bar was well presented and tasty - the staff we were not impressed with or the main course El Eldorao - a total disappointment - the salad bar is sub par - this restaurant is old and very tired - it definitely needs to be revamped and upgraded in decor and also their menu - we were not impressed at all but my husband said the steak was good Our recommendation is that you leave tips for the waiters, cleaning staff, butler and bartenders - they really appreciate the gesture and have a tendency to remember you and you will note the difference of service. It is nice to see their smiles of "thank you" from them As mentioned before, we have been here many times, and have seen changes for the good and some are questionable. Having said that, we will be returning. We had some hiccups, any resort has them, nothing is perfect. But was nice that they were resolved quickly.

Catalonia Bavaro Resort: Beautiful Resort!

This resort is immaculately maintained and is picture perfect to look at but the staff make it even better to stay at. The staff go out of their way to make your stay enjoyable. If you need anything, all you have to do is ask and the staff make it their mission to accommodate you with a smile on their faces. The help desk is very helpful, the wait staff are always smiling and singing. The bar tenders will make you a myriad of drinks. The overall vibe of the resort is a large, sprawling hote [... read more]l but the staff treat you individually and make you feel seen and heard.

Cofresi Palm Beach and Spa Resort: Horrible resort

We vacationed at the Cofresi Palm Beach Hotel in Puerto plata, Dominican Republic on April 4th to 11th. I had family meet my husband and I here there for a total of 7 people. This hotel is definitely not for anyone however has a mobility issue. There is no elevators and so many stairs. The hotel is in disrepair, with broken furniture and the bathrooms, for example, tubs with cracks and faucet pulled off. I thought I was feel some better and two days later I was in bed until 4 pm. All of us had stomach problems and could barely eat and hardy drank any alcohol. I meet 5 members of my There are shuttles but always had to wait for them and were not frequent. The beach was not near our room so walking for me was very difficult. I wouldn't recommend this hotel to anyone. I wouldn't even give it a 1 star.

Bahia Principe Escape Ambar: Excellent Adults Only Resort on Bavaro Beach

The Bahia Principe Ambar is a beautiful property, with lush landscaping and many amenities including a Gym and Spa.The rooms are modern and very clean. The dining options are numerous, International A La Carte Restaurants and The Palymra Buffet which offers a different theme of cuisine every night. The one thing that sets this resort apart is the Professional Entertainment they offer every day of the week. Looking forward to returning in 2026.

Iberostar Selection Bavaro Suites: Amazing Resort

This hotel has a beautiful property. There is plenty of lush gardens and palm trees. The rooms are very clean and the service is great. Food was very good in most restaurants, especially the gourmet restaurant in the Dominicana resort next door. The pools are clean and the beach is kept very clean as well.

Majestic Colonial Punta Cana Beach Resort: Lovely resort!

I loved this resort. We had excellent service, and exceptional food. Everything was clean and well maintained! The staff were fun and engaging. The drinks were better at certain bars, but overall no complaints! Would definitely go back.

Viva Heavens by Wyndham: Quite Resort

Hotel was very clean, staff absolutely amazing, super helpful and made you feel so welcome. Always had a smile and a wave hello. Made my husband's birthday special. If you are looking for a quite resort for relaxing with not alot of activities. This is your resort. Music was top notch during the day during activities, but then very quite elevator music until 930. There isn't anything to do if it's raining. Room was nice and big. But our toilet leaked and bathroom door didn't close. The AC is super cool so bring a sweater to keep on in your room. No face cloths or extra towels. (2 towels pre room) also no milk for your coffee either. Netflix was hit or miss Mexican and Italian food very yummy. Amazing omlet station at the buffet for breakfast. Lunch by the beach has the best pizza. We did get tried of the same food daily there wasn't much change to the menu. Overall I would give it a 6 out of 10.

Third time the charm.this resort never disappoints. Amazing staff, cleanliness of the resort from the grounds to the cleanliness of the rooms. Food is amazing, always choices to be made from a la carts to the buffet. Evening entertainment in the adult lobby can be relaxing from either taking in listening to a sax or violin in one area or for the young at heart there is karaoke, 80s music, silent disco or Dominican entertainment. For those looking for a quiet pool, this resort has you covered [... read more]. For those looking for foam parties and lively activity there is the main pool and jacuzzi area close to the beach. Be aware that ocean swimming at this resort is not for everyone. The water is calm, but murky due to the river close by. Be mindful of the flags at the beach which will tell you whether it is safe to swim or not. Overall, this resort caters to the young and old.

Bahia Principe Explore Punta Cana: Overall ok for the room but like the beach

The beach very beautiful. The meals good enough except Japanese restaurant. For the room service not good.They don’t give enough bottles of water to drink.I asked for water but waiting for long time. The first room has a bad smell. They changed an other room for us. It’s ok.

Majestic Colonial Punta Cana Beach Resort: Amazing experience

I have been to a few different resorts and so far this has been my favourite! I will definitely return. And also recommend to friends looking for vacations. The resort was very clean with a lot of amenities, we did not feel like we went without. The staff was very friendly while also maintaining professionalism.

TRS Turquesa: TRS Turquesa Did Not Disappoint

Great food, service and staff. Enjoyed the swim up Jr suite. Quiet area. Beach is stunning. Kept clean. Meals at Helios: priceless with that ocean view. Carts for the asking although I managed walking too. Surprise birthday cake and room decorated.

Dreams Onyx Resort and Spa: Great Resort

Dreams Onyx was a great resort , clean and people will always very friendly . My room was fantastic and very well maintained every day . The buffets were ok always something to eat . We only went there for breakfast and lunch only , the morning buffet was the best our of the two . Lunch buffet was good but more choices would be nice , but you never would go hungry . The ala carte restaurant's I enjoyed especially The French one , it was amazing . The beach has great breeze especially needed because it was sunny and hot , plus not a lot of seaweed . They maintained the beach great and always chairs available . The Entertainment team was great and got everyone going . The night show I truly enjoyed was the Queen tribute and the Rock tribute , they were very well done . I seen a lot of shows at different resort's but these two were fantastic .Having a lazy river was a nice change and the pool were great as well . You could be at the party pool or at a much quieter pool depending on what you wanted . The only thing that was annoying at times were all the students on there senior class trip . At times they took over and at night up all hours of the nights running or just screaming in the halls of the buildings . But overall I had a great time and really enjoyed my trip . Especially my cappuccino's every morning

Ocean Blue and Sand: Fantastic Vacation Spot

It was a beautiful resort! 2 big pools, very clean and well kept, both with pool bars. Staff was friendly and helpful everywhere. Beach was beautiful, kept clean, no rocks in the water. Food was good. My best meal was at the Steak House. Food at the buffets were great. Staff at the main buffet were the friendliest! Jaro Jackson and Yany Ortiz were amazing, they were friendly, hilarious and made us feel special. Yani made us feel like part of her family. Barcelo Bavaro Beach: Really gone downhill in the last 5 years

The hotel LOOKED exactly the same, but the Customer Service Dept. was sadly lacking in people who understood and spoke English. Also disappointed in the Air Transat Rep. who was almost rude when addressing me. I took me until Thursday to obtain face cloths for the room because they said (Cust. Serv.) that I was not listed as Premium level. The Brisa restaurant whom I had reserved was also lacking in a cook who could not accomodate people with special needs diets. I am allergic to pepper and a [... read more]sked that it not be used in my food. The result was a blacked (charred black) steak which was SUPPOSED to be beef bourgonyon with mashed potatoes and caramalized onions. I was given rice (barely cooked) and no onions at all. On the other hand, I had a reservation at Chez Gourmet and had really good service and ChateauBreand. Cooked perfectly. I was very pleased with this restaurant. Also, the Caribe Buffet Restaurant was very accomodating and had a wide selection of food from turkey, ham and the best roast beef I've had in a long time. The servers were excellent and anticipated everything. Suffice it to say, I will not be going back there again, which is a shame because that was my fifth trip to that hotel. I started going there in the 80's before there was an adult side and a children's side. This would have been my last hurrah as I turned 76 this year and was travelling alone. I found that because I didn't have a partner beside me that I was ignored at the bars and by pool servers for the most part.
