Platinum Yucatan Princess: Ask for Anna for service at the swim up suite

We stayed from Nov 11th to 18th/ 16 and were in a swim up room, beautiful and the rooms were huge. Our check in was great, rooms were not quite ready but we flew in early. we were met with big smiles and nothing was beyond our needs. We were in room # 4003 which was pretty central. The only draw back with this room is that it is close to the swim up/ main pool and it is very noisy in the afternoon, so no siesta for us. Also the other side of the room where we entered was noisy when you were tryi [... read more]ng to sleep as it backs onto the driveway/parking lot and there seemed to be a lot of noise at night while you are trying to sleep. 24/7 bar is great as we are early risers heading to the beach to watch the sun rise and like to grab a coffee or drink on the way. Deisy at that bar starts at 7 am and was always ready with a smile. We had a waitress also at our swim up suite, Anna was amazing she always anticipated your needs I swear she must of put on 30 miles a day. She is also has been taking different languages to make it easier for her to relate to everyone. The other girls were great but Anna was the best...kudos to her. Buffet was really good with similarities everyday but also variations to keep it interesting. Make sure you go to the Yucatan Buffet on Thursday night for the seafood amazing. A bit of a disappointment with the al a cartes, portions were really small. so don't go hungry. Shops are very expensive at the resort but you can take a shuttle to 5th Ave to buy it's a lot cheaper. If you are getting a swim up suite bring an inflatable with you, it makes it great for lounging in the water. The beach area is small and there is lots of loungers, but to go swimming because of the rocks if you walk down to the sister resort you can get in.

Marival Emotions Resort and Suites Riviera Nayarit: Nice resort

overall this resort was pretty good. one thing that seemed to be missing was music at the pool. the waiters we all in all this was a pretty nice resort. we received excellent service, particularly from Abraham, Roberto and Gladys. they were very attentive to us. one thing that could be improved is the music around the pool. there was none.

Platinum Yucatan Princess: Amazing Resort!

We were here on our honeymoon. Beautiful resort. Clean and the food was terrific! The staff were all amazing and we loved our room, the pool and the beach. We had a different towel animal our bed everyday. Lots of options for meals. Love the flaming coffee table! Such a gorgeous peaceful place. I loved it wasn't a big singles pick up place for most of the week we were there. Towards the end of the week it seemed a bit more rowdy and busier but still more of a couples type resort over a  [... read more]singles hangout which was perfect for us. Definitely will be back.

Blue Bay Grand Esmeralda: Good resort

We are a retired couple who went to relax & we did just that. Wasn't busy at this time (Nov. 8 - 18th) so there was plenty of spots around the pool area or beach area to hang your hat. The buffet had a variety of different foods to choose from & the other restaurants at the resort were also great. Rooms were big. Trollies came around every 10 minutes to take you to different places at the resort which was very nice. Margaritaville Island Reserve Riviera Cancun: Love this resort

Very family and baby friendly! Vacationed with a 9 month baby and very accomadating to us. Small quiet resort, beautiful grounds and great food. Staff is incredible, friendly, quick and always remembered our names.

Riu Vallarta: Nice resort

This is a nice resort. Maids did a great job on cleaning the rooms. The food was ok but was basically the same every day. Always something to eat but became very tiresome after first couple of days. The steak house was the best at the resort. I have been to many Riu resorts and this is the first time had a complaint about the food. I also found the staff in restaurants not as friendly as other places but I could see they were just to busy to have the time to be. They always seemed to be sho [... read more]rt on staff. They working hard but it was just to much for the amount of people they had to take care of. We still enjoyed our trip because we do not get excited about small things. Finest Playa Mujeres by Excellence Group: Close to Paradise

My husband and I traveled to many all inclusive resorts but this one is now our favorite. The pick up from the airport was just perfect; on time, in a well air conditioned car, with a well spoken and polite driver -provided by Best Day. The hotel was almost haven...starting with the check in which was quick and smooth and professional.The main hallway and reception look very classy, air conditioned and not crowded. The grounds a well manicured, a classy music plays in the background with a w [... read more]ell adjusted volume, the staff are well trained, polite and discrete. I have not seen the maids once in eight days but the room was cleaned once we left the room; I had to go back a few times, in about one hour after we left and the room was already done. The fridge was stocked daily with our preferred drinks - Heineken beer, red wine...we just have to ask for what we needed. The restaurants are amazing - don't worry about reservation, just show up and you will be accomodated, if they were busy they would just tell us when to come back, but this was never more than half an hour later. The Surf and Turf serves lobster and steak to die for, so is the Steakhouse and the French Restaurant is exquisite. All the waiters are again well trained, polite and knowledgeable about the foods and drinks served. The pools and the beach are very nice, I saw them checking the ph of the water in the pool one morning; you can find clean towels everywhere and they are not obsessed with returning them and checking the room number like I've seen in other resorts . They had a few theme nights - Halloween, Mexican and Bollywood - which were perfect in terms of arrangements, music, food and service.

Iberostar Waves Paraiso Beach: Amazing holiday

Stayed for 4 nights. Room was a great size, beds were very comfortable and finishings were nice (marble tile floors). Shower was malfunctioning but nothing major. Food was great, there's always something you can find. Restaurants do not have AC but the only place we ever noticed it was at the Japanese restaurant (so hot we left). Pool is amazing, huge! Barcelo Maya Colonial: Barcelo chain of resorts is huge!

We stayed at the Colonial which has the authentic Mexican look (as did the Tropical buildings) They are clean and well kept but older looking and if authentic is what you want, then choose either of those two. If you want more modern looking I would choose the Caribe or Beach resort. We didn't stay at those, but from the outside it looked more modern with ceramics tiles and less traditional looking. When you stay at one you have access to the main hub of them all. Each hotel has its own lob [... read more]by/check in etc. but they are all connected with TONS of walking and beach front. There is a double decker bus to take you to each of them should you need a ride. There is one more resort but its exclusive for those who have tons of extra money to spare. Its called the Royale Palace Deluxe. They do have access to the other four though. You get free Wi-Fi in the mall/shopping area each day from 10am to 1pm only! You can pay extra if you want all access though. The buffet was ok....breakfast was good since you can't go wrong with fresh eggs and toast plus a huge assortment of stuff to choose from. Lunch & dinner buffet was touch and go. For those looking for a huge assortment but not fussy on taste...its good. The a la carte restaurants were the best food and it was awesome!! You have to go to the Tokyo Japanese for the great presentation and food!!! The ONLY place open to eat 24/7 was the "sports bar" located at the 6/10Caribe section of the mall. If I had to rate those snacks it would be 6/10. If you like runny cheese on your nachos its good for you then. Can't go wrong with the all you can drink booze/drinks though. Although each bartender makes them different!! Pools close at dark, which was around 6pm...so if you are looking for something to do after dark...good luck! Unless you are into a party you can check out Jaguars' night club (we didn't but its a night club, not much to explain). Each night at 9:30pm they have a 45 minute show, different each night. Excursions...you have to do the ALLTOURNATIVE tours they were amazing! We did two...one was atv/zipline/maya jungle walk and swimming in a cenote. The other was a mayan village tour/lunch/walk, zip line, repel into a cenote and bike ride to see mayan ruins in coba. amazing!!! Overall I would give this resort a 4 not a 4.5 but we had a great time. Our kids are 11,14,16 and there was no teens/kids club so they were bored after the pool closed. We would visit again, but just the two of us. If you have younger kids, they have a kiddie pool/water slides and a kids club which looked great for young ones. Oh, and if you can speak Spanish that is an asset because the front desk staff (all two of them at any given time) they speak a little bit of English. The bar tenders know drink names and that is about it. Maids/other workers won't even look at you so unless you know Spanish, don't bother asking them for anything. I had to ask front desk 3 times after trying to ask maid staff for a face cloth for 3 days. Just minor things, but if you need anything good luck getting it! Also, the communication between each resort isn't the same. I asked my front desk staff what the theme at the show was for that night, at the other resort and they had no idea. Vice versa, I asked them a question about the "water park" and they had to call them and still got no answer. Mixed messages and lots of walking in the heat to find out was frustrating. The pirates waterpark costs $15 USD for one day use per person. It has a few small waterslides and a surf simulator. No shade really though so put on your sunscreen. It was open 9-5pm. It was fun for one day for our kids.

Barcelo Maya Colonial: Great resort !

My wife & I spent one week @ Barcelo Maya Colonial Beach .This was one of the best places we've ever visited. Great place for singles,couples and family.No lineups in restaurants and very good food.Rooms are extremely clean. Looking forward to going to this place again,but this time for more than seven days.

Bahia Principe Explore Tulum: Beautiful resort!

Just got back. We are an active couple with an 11 year old son. The resort is breathtaking. grounds are very well taken care of. We like to play tennis and the sports complex is fabulous. No shortage of day trips to choose from. they do seem rather expensive though. Lounging around the pool is never a problem, always lots of chairs. Mexico is one of my favourite places to visit. Grand Palladium Kantenah: Refreshingly classy!

The grounds were kept immaculately clean. Beautiful gardens and pathways through the mangroves abound. This is a huge resort, but was not a problem for us as we love to walk. For the mobility-challenged, there are trolleys going back an forth constantly. The beach ranges from a wide, white sand beach at the "Kantenah resort" end of the resort to coral rock at the "White Sand resort" end of the beach. Bars, snack bars, buffets and à la carte restaurants are plentiful so there is always an option [... read more] for drinks and meals. All of the mixed drinks that we ordered were made with real fruit, not the powders used at some of the other resorts we have been to. Rooms were kept clean and the mini-fridge was stocked daily. The only negative issue I had was not the resort's fault, but rather with some of the clients. There are some people out there that delight in feeding the local jungle animals, especially the caitos (looks like a raccoon with an anteater nose). This has made them a pest at some of the outdoor dining areas, with some of them jumping up on abandoned tables to get at the left-overs. People - DON'T FEED THE LOCAL ANIMALS!! This is the first time I've done the booking on-line thru trip central.ca. It was a breeze and trip central was great at sending reminder emails regularly before our trip. I will continue to book our future trips this way, instead of through a travel agency.

Staff need improvement, very stressful staff ....the staff working en the lobby very rude.... Food is ok,toillets near to restaurants they are disgusting... We expect a better hotel for the price... When we arrived to cancun we was waiting for the transport too long...

Paradisus Cancun: Lovely Resort!

Resort is beautiful, well maintained but the staff needs to be trained well to communicate in English and be friendly with guests. This resort suites well for retired people and people with babies. Not much entertainement for adults or kids. Resort itself is beautiful! Rooms are clean!

Iberostar Selection Paraiso Maya Suites: Iberostar Paraiso Maya

Last week was our 39th visit to this resort. Obviously, we love it there. This time, we tried out a couple of specialty restaurants within the 5 hotel complex which we had not tried before. The Cajun restaurant at Lindo turned out to be a very pleasant surprise. Nice room, good service and the Jambalaya was delicious. However, the Italian restaurant at Paraiso Beach was beyond belief! When I was already stuffed with the original serving, I asked the waiter for a bowl of the sauce just so I could continue enjoying that flavour! OMG, it was good! Will we be going back in February for our 40th visit AND 30th anniversary? Oh, yes! By the way, we have tried higher-end resorts like Sandals Antigua. What a waste of money that was. Iberostar Paraiso Maya IS paradise!

Moon Palace Cancun: Wonderful Time!

My sister-in-law and I stayed ay Moon Palace for a destination wedding and had a marvellous time. First of all, I must say that it was the perfect place to have a wedding and obviously many agreed with us as there were so many beautiful weddings taking place every day. We stayed in a new building called the Grand and were amazed by the size and quality of the room. It was clean, well decorated and was fully equipped with everything we needed. The resort was very spacious and there were restaurants, bars, pools and more everywhere you looked. The beach was literally just steps away and was nicely raked and cared for. The food was delicious and the variety was endless. The people who worked there were extremely friendly and always helpful. Overall, I was impressed with the resort and have already talked my husband into going with me the next time. This resort is for everyone, young and old!

The resort itself is beautiful and very well maintained. We stayed in building 5 which was awesome and also nice and quiet! please be aware that the main pool is very loud and busy so staying near it is not as quiet!

Barcelo Maya Colonial: Something for Everyone

First impression, this resort is extremely clean and beautiful. The lobby is elegent and spacious with lush gardens throughout the resort. The rooms were large and very nice. We went Premium, but would not go that route again. Some things we did not get with that package, so not worth the extra money. Pools are clean and lots of room to find a chair or your own little space. The beach is long and tons of room for a lounger or a nice long walk. Gorgeous sun rises here every morning. Yes [... read more] there are tons of rocks and coral in the water, but we were able to find space to walk in without hitting the rocks and loved the clear blue water. The water activities were plentiful and easy to use and lots of fun. The staff were nice, but again would not go Premium again as they were not overly helpful and customer service is not a priority at all. The buffets were actually better than the al al carte's as there was much more selection and better tasting. The exception was the Mexican restaurant where they served extremely good food and they were very attentive.

Secrets Huatulco: Beautiful resort!

Our experience from start to finish was amazing. We have never stayed in such a highly rated resort before and were very impressed! Starting with our pick up at airport and arrival at the resort we were made to feel welcome and appreciated. The rooms were wonderful. The staff throughout the resort were helpful and accommodating! We wanted for nothing really. We are not ocean swimming people so the fact that the beach may not have been as inviting as soon resorts didn't bother us. Th [... read more]e view was spectacular. We spent a lot of time at the pool partaking of the water, sunshine and drinks. The service was great and we were kept refilled by our favorite bartender Isaul. He's a treasure for that resort. Keep him at all cost! He remembered people from years before which makes us want to come back. We found the food in the restaurants really tasty and we loved the food we had. I would recommend anyone to stay at Secrets resort in Huatulco. We raved about it to each other every day And we will very definitely get back there! I can't say anything negative about experience. We had booked a tour guide ourselves before arriving so were able to take a couple of excursions. I would highly recommend Enrique's Huatulco tours. He was amazing!

Grand Sirenis Mayan Beach: Beautiful resort

The grounds here are very well maintained and nicely landscaped. The rooms are very large and roomy. The frosted glass between the bathroom and bedroom does take some getting used to. A little less privacy than one would want. The food in the buffet was good and there was a lot of variety. The steak in the Steakhouse was disappointing, very tough.
