Grand Sirenis Tropical Suites: small and simple

Great resort! Went with 3 young kids. Beds were hard but room was very clean. Pool was fabulous for the kids. Food was fine, service was superb. Water park was a blast for the whole family. We would go back again for sure.

Bahia Principe Grand San Juan: Very nice resort

The resort was very clean and the food was great. The staff were friendly and efficient and ready to serve. I was with a group of 4 and we all had a awesome time. We had no complaints. We would go back anytime.

Sunscape Dominican Beach: Need to speak spanish

The beach/ocean was really nice but the employees were not very nice to you if you did not speak spanish. I went last year to a different resort and i had a much better time! Even the guests all spoke spanish so it was really hard to talk to people. They also clean your rooms super super late in the day.ex: you spend all day at the beach/pool come back to your room and they haven't or they're cleaning it at 5 pm. It was really frustrating happened all week.

Marien Puerto Plata Hotel: Great resort

Very clean! Well maintained. Good entertainment, friendly staff. Beautiful beach for walking, water warm. lots of food, usual buffet style, nothing great but normal for Dominican! Good drink menu. USA money is excepted everywhere .

Bahia Principe Grand San Juan: Excellent vacation!

We have booked our family (2 adults, one 12 yo) vacation during Reading Week, and we were a bit worried it will be very noisy. This resort is the perfect place for a family: not too many very young kids, not too many (and definitely not very rowdy) college / university students, not too many older adults; just the perfect mix. The rooms are clean and well kept, the entertainment crew is friendly and they put on very nice shows (we've enjoyed all the evening shows, but if you must miss one, make  [... read more]sure you do **not** miss the Circus Night - an amazing show); the pools are beautiful; the food is good (we haven't gone to any of the a la cart restaurants in one week, just enjoyed the buffet). The beach is not as crystal clear as you might expect (they do have wave breakers throughout the length of the resort beach), but we love a bit of waves and, on the upside, we were able to treasure hunt for shells :) The shopping / disco / karaoke / casino strip is a night touch and allows for a quiet evening, while offering the young(er) ones a place to dance and be loud :) We have booked a safari trip through the neighbouring mountains / villages / laguna; I would greatly recommend it if you want to have a taste of the local life. We have enjoyed it thoroughly! There are multiple organizations you can book through, we have used Transat's own, and we would recommend it (smaller group - about 14 people), wonderful guides, beautiful trip.

Bahia Principe Escape Bouganville: Great Place for a Vacation

Stayed at the BP - Adult only side for 10 days in February. Rooms are very spacious and bright. There is a very good selection of food in the buffet. (Try the southern fried chicken - very yummy). We used room service a couple of times and could not get over how fast it was (joked with the server - 20 minutes or it was free? :) Was very nice to be able to get a chicken sandwich, clubhouse or a hamburger delivered. The beach is beautiful, but yes, the water is murky looking. We swam in the ocean [... read more] almost everyday and did not experience any jelly fish. Staff - the staff are very professional and friendly - cannot do enough for their visitors. We traveled with 2 other couples - would definitely recommend this hotel. We will be visiting again next year.

Sunscape Puerto Plata: Staff needs to improve on customer care

The resort was beautiful and being in club premium is definitely the way to go. The selection of food was excellent. As for the service and friendliness ... that is something to be desired. I found staff at this resort were rather rude and really didn't seem like they wanted to help you. The staff at the "Italian" ala carte were down right horrible and beyond rude. We sat and waited and waited .. people even got up and left due to the poor service.

Coral Costa Caribe: Not what I expected

This was my first holiday in 5 years. I traveled to the Coral Costa Caribe on February 20 to February 27, 2015. It was located roughly 2 hours away from the airport but I expected that. The beach was amazing and the pool area was okay except the pool bar was closed the whole time and the hot tub was not up and running. The service at the front desk was very disappointing because the staff was very rude and ignorant. At least the wait and bar staffs were pretty nice. The hotel in general is in ne [... read more]ed of serious upgrading. The room we stayed in was not in good condition at all but it was pretty clean. The bed sheets had holes in them, I almost broke my neck by sitting on the chair which broke and there was never any running water when it was time for me to shower. Oh, ya.... then the toilet broke and it took them 2 days to come and fix it. One thing I can say about this resort is that the food was generally pretty good.

Occidental Caribe: Amazing Resort!!

Everything is great about this resort! That staff was excellent. Pools and beach were perfect and didn't have to walk long to get anywhere. Entertainment was not as good as it has been in the past years at this resort but overall I love the resort!

Secrets Royal Beach: Best vacation ever!

This resort was all we could have expected. From the staff to the grounds it was EXCELLENT! We especially liked the whirlpool tub on the balcony. A great way to relax after a day at the pool! Staff seemed to really enjoy their work and wanted nothing more than to please you...

Cayo Levantado Resort: Very Quiet, Clean and Relaxing

Really nothing wrong with this resort. It's approximately a one hour drive from Samana airport to the private dock and then another 10 minute boat ride to the resort. We stayed in villa 01, room 01201. Very large room and clean. Food was very good at all the restaurants and they never seemed crowded. Pools were warm and also never seemed crowded. Beaches are just great! The grounds are well kept and mature. Lots of walking/jogging trails. It was a perfect vacation!

Bahia Principe Grand Samana Roulette: Great escape from the Canadian cold!

Very nice, well maintained resort. The beach was beautiful and long with fine sand and shallow water. There was a great selection of food at the buffet, but we enjoyed the Brazillian Restaurant best. We would definitely go again.

Tropical Deluxe Princess: Great holiday

We just returned from a week at the Caribe Club Princess. We were originally booked in the Tropical Princess but were not happy with the room so we arranged to switch. Caribe Club much better, very clean, incredible variety of food (if you leave the table hungry it's because you want to be) and exceptional service all around, especially Jose, Nelsa and Ignacio at the main buffet. Would go back. Don't hold your breath for Spanish lessons though, I didn't get one all week.

Sunscape Coco Punta Cana: Good resort

I enjoyed everything that this resort had to offer minus the food. I'm not a picky eater but I didn't really enjoy any of the al a cartes. The scenery was beautiful, lots of flowers palm trees and well groomed grass. The beach was clean and if you walk down the beach for about 10 minutes you will notice very beautiful blue clearwater. There was seaweed in some areas but I wasn't bothered by it . The workers cleaned up the area in front of Be Live more often then other resorts along the strip. Th [... read more]e timeshare people are definitely annoying and so are the people trying to sell other items along the beach. But if you just say no politely and smile, by the second day they will leave you alone. Our room was cleaned every day and the fridge was restocked everyday. I upgraded to VIP before arriving at the hotel and when we got there we had a fast check in.. Vip included some great features like a better room, access to better bars, pools and lounge areas. We also had no charge to use the safe in the room and we also had free internet . I liked this resort because they had a lot of activities going on both day and night and the entertainment teams was great ! I heard some people complaining about being sick but my group of four did not experience this issue as we were careful with what we ate. The staff were friendly ! Abel at the lobby bar was awesome ! I wish I could remember everyone's names but I can't .. Everyone in the VIP lounge were great as well !! I would recommend upgrading to vip .. Barcelo Bavaro Beach: Great place to relax

Very quiet section to relax, if you want more action ... Just need to walk to the Bavaro Deluxe. Only comment limited access to catamaran and food are not always clearly identified could be a concerns if you have some allergies or food intolerances such gluten. But the is a rich varieties of food and drinks to satisfied everyone

Grand Palladium Palace: Not impressed with the management

Our vacation was from Feb 8th to Feb 15th. When we got to the hotel they did not give us any information regarding the hotel. We went to book our a la cartes and were told they are first come unless you are a Royal member. In some cases that meant standing in line for an hour or more. I did not book a vacation to stand in line. The hotel checked us out a day before so my husband had to provide them with our information again so we could stay our last night. Riu Palace Punta Cana: Grand Old Dame!!

We were there in Feb 2015 for two weeks. This is a wonderful old resort, getting a bit long in the tooth but that is it`s charm. The staff are absolutely wonderful and attentive and treated us with great respect. The grounds are beautifully kept and the rooms and public areas are very clean. The rooms and dining room need an update but it would be a shame to redo the the whole resort. The beach is one of the best and the service at the beach and pool was wonderful. Be Live Experience Hamaca Suites: Great experience

Food, service and landscape was great. Wonderful time. Water is extremely blue in the ocean and a barricade provided to break the waves and keep the sea erchents out. The buffet was delicious. A la carte s were slow in service but still good.

Bahia Principe Grand San Juan: Beautiful but far from actionm

Bahia Principe San Juan is one of the most beautiful resorts I have seen in the Caribbean. All staff were very friendly with good service. The food was good. It's a great r&r resort. There are some on-resort activities but the resort is very far from everything so travel to excursions is long and far and not always comfortable.

VH Gran Ventana Beach Resort: Great value for the price

The resort was small but nice. Staff were friendly and fun. Beach was beautiful and water clear! Food was good and drinks were .....strong! It was quiet which is what i was looking for. Happy overall.
