Occidental Caribe: Great Resort!

Beach was stunning. Food was great especially the a la cartes. Tons of entertainment and staff was awesome. Shows were great at night - more so when they involve the crowd. Drinks are good and tons of alcohol in them. Big resort but definitely fun.

Bahia Principe Escape Ambar: A fantastic resort...everything was excellent.

Excellent service, good selection and quality of food, beautiful endless beaches, perfect weather every day. We met many people who had been to the resort multiple times. A very well maintained resort, you can see that the maintenance and upkeep is continual. Staff are very friendly and helpful.

Grand Palladium Palace: All we could ask for in Punta Cana-da!

Clean rooms; beautiful beaches and great service (although sometimes on "DR time). Must try the Coco Loco! Had a great (and very muddy) time on the Punta Cana Boogies! Only downside was pushy local vendors.

Barcelo Bavaro Palace: very nice resort

Hotel was great. Rooms are great. Resort credits are a sham. And is only really a coupon book with discounts. Special restraunts were ok. The golf coarse was great. It was free with the package.But you had to pay 65 us each for cart rental. Mandatory. Clubhouse best food of the whole resort.

Bahia Principe Escape Ambar: Awesome Adult-Only Resort

This resort is beautiful inside and out. The grounds are well-manicured and staff are constantly keeping things tidy/clean. The beach is gorgeous and plenty of chairs and palapas. The buffet and a la carte restaurants were tasty and a lot of variety. This resort is perfect whether you want a quiet/romantic holiday or have a more lively time, since there are an abundance of activities and entertainment to choose from.

Riu Bambu: Perfect holiday

This was my very first time travelling and all I can say is that I was blown away. The resort was BEAUTIFUL, all of the staff and guests were all super friendly. It was exactly what I wanted and exactly what I inagined it to be. Great value too!

Bahia Principe Explore El Portillo: very pleased with the whole resort

especially great food at the buffet especially great service at the Gourmet Restaurant from Junior Sanchez and Ysabel. The food in all the A la Carte restaurants was amazing. all the facilities were first class.

Bahia Principe Explore Punta Cana: Best Resort

This hotel is teriffic. It is actually made up of 4 resorts. The beach is clean white sand with gentle waves coming in. Lots of lounges and chairs around the 2 pools at the beach. There are 2 other pools up towards the main lobby with restaurants all around the grounds. Also, it is only 30 minutes from the airport. We could find no fault with this place.

Punta Cana Princess: Exactly what we all need!

We stayed from Feb. 24 to Mar. 03, 2015. Well maintained resort. Staff and service was excellent. Everything we asked for we got. Enjoyed the 'no reservation required' a-la-carte restaurants and was pleasantly surprised to see that the staff politely enforced male dress codes! Pool and beach areas were well set up and kept clean. Food was good. What we selected at the restaurants we enjoyed. At the buffet we usually took advantage of the grills and personally prepared dishes and were never disappointed. Marien Puerto Plata Hotel: Had a great time!

Let me start off by saying the restaurants were amazing. The Mexican, Brazilian, and Gourmet were all delicious. The grounds were kept clean. The rooms were average. The service was great. No swim up bar or lobby bar. It was difficult to get a hut around the pool unless you woke up very early. He disco was fun at night. Overall had a good time.

Blau Natura Park Resort: Beautiful and clean resort

We stay here Feb 16-Feb 23. The resort was sold out but it never felt that way. There was always plenty of loungers by the pool and on the beach. The grounds are well kept and the resort is clean. The wifi is strong and located in public areas (pool, lobby and resturants) it cost $25 US for 24 Hours. The 3 al carte resturants were good. Buffet was sufficient and was to be expected for an all inclusive resort. Bedrooms are spacious and clean. Our bathroom outlet, and iron didn't work (4127) build [... read more]ing ix, and our other room (4125) same building the floor in the shower bottomed out, this was never fixed and they put a towel down and said to use that. The staff was great, maid, bartenders, wait staff and bell boys. Unfortunately management not so good. The resort is beautiful with lots of birds even peacocks and flamingos. The grounds are lush with lots of vegetation which makes it so nice compared to other resorts in the area. We did two excursions, tiger dube buggy which the boys (3) had a great time, you get very very muddy! But good value, we paid $50 a person and you can negotiate with them, other paid up to $75 a person. The girls had a Ocean Adventures Spa with Dr. Fish they locals call it. This was $150 for 3 hours and well worth the money, services and food was GREAT!

Bahia Principe Explore Esmeralda: Great Family Resort!!!!

My family and I (including my boys 9 & 8) loved our recent visit to the Esmeralda Feb. 25 - Mar. 4). The whole Bahia Principe resort is massive, but the trolley service allows you easy and quick access to entire resort . The Esmeralda grounds and beach are immaculate, and all staff and servers were friendly an accommodating. Buffets were good with reasonable selection and variety. I am a picky eater so that goes a long way. A-la-carte restaurants were ok, usually buffet starters and menu main co [... read more]urses. Book as soon as you can on arrival as slots fill quickly. We like the Bella Italia and Mikada Japaneese the best. You cannot reserve ahead online as you were apparently able to do in the past. Rooms were clean and spacious. Beds were very comfortable (best mattress I've ever had) and mini bar stocked with bottled water, beer and liquor (we tipped every day and was able to communicate that we preferred the rum and vodka). After that we got all we needed. The fridge keeps things cool at best and depending on the time your room is cleaned fridge contents may be on the warm side. A good trick is to bring a large drink container with you so you can fill up with ice at the pool bar before you head back to your room. Beach and pool were good but be warned that even though there are signs stating that you cannot reserve loungers and cabanas that everyone does and there is no enforcement. Lots of shade available so get up early (before 7am) to get something where you want. The beach has ample lounges but the ones beachside again were always "taken" early. Overall the Esmeralda section was wonderful although we can't speak for the rest of the resort as we spent most of our time at Esmeralda. Frankly, you probably wouldn't want to anyhow. Since we had our boys with us the Ambar section was off limits but adults do have access to the Ambar section if you chose. Understand that Dominicans are hard working friendly people who work long hours for very little pay. We found that giving tips (2 dollars) went a long way and tended to get quicker service and more attention but that's just our approach. Please take into consideration any reviews posted and realize everything is service and time related and individual experiences seem to differ greatly. We were shocked to see negative reviews in areas we found to be great and vice versa. Wonderful vacation and would recommend it!!!

Marien Puerto Plata Hotel: Best In Puerto Plata

Wow what a resort, from the bartenders, restaurant staff, cleaning staff, house keeping staff, bellmen and last but least the front desk, as far as I'm concerned this hotel is the prime example of what customer service should be. I had a Jr. suite with partial ocean view, it was huge 2 bathrooms, living room, and separate bedroom with a king size bed, 2 televisions, coffeemaker, ironing and board and a microwave. Riu Palace Punta Cana: Not the best....

Just returned from Riu Palace PC. Flights going and coming with Sunwing were both delayed on departure and arrival. Arrived at resort, had reserved a superior junior suite (absolutely no difference from the junior suite inside the room). I would have assumed the location in the resort made the difference re: superior, but no. Had to negotiate/$$ to get a better location closer to the beach. There are no views of the ocean from any room so if that is a priority, not the place for you. Excited so [... read more] we immediately went from the room to the beach. Last minute decided to put valuables in the safe in both rooms (had 2 rooms). Good thing we did!! Came back about 2 hrs later and luggage in both rooms had been rifled through. I reported this to the front desk. They said the manager would call. Waited. Called again and they put me through to security. Security said they would have the manager call. Still waiting for that..... Bad start! Food- A la cartes no good. Buffet excellent and they change it up each day. Steak house (restaurant by the ocean) serves lunch buffet which is nice. One of us became quite ill, both ends and thought it was likely the food. Who knows, could be a combination of sun, food, alcohol. Clientele in the 70's or families with young children. Very few if any university age group. Even not too many 30, 40, 50 year olds. Riu Bambu next door a much more exciting group and better shows. Beach staff were very good and entertaining. A big shout out to Franklin, Gasolina and the yeyeyeye girl!! You guys are great! The beach is beautiful. We went on an afternoon snorkeling trip through the beach guys related to the Riu, $39 per person and well worth it! The bathroom in one of our rooms was flooded twice by the room above. The water came pouring in both times through the bathroom roof. When we got angry with them they fixed it properly the second time. Just a hassle. The front desk staff are less than helpful, don't really care. They make promises but don't follow through. This is not in the best interest of the resort and wanting people to return. If you have not travelled much or been to all inclusive, you would likely think this hotel is great. We have traveled a fair bit and I would not rate this hotel as a 5 star. There are much better places to go and get your mney's worth. We will not return.

Royalton Punta Cana Resort: Complete Relaxation and more......

This was our 10 time to Punta Cana and I have to say this was up there with being the best resort yet. Rooms are beautiful modern and well looked after. We never had to ask for anything and the turndown service at night was a nice touch. Restaurants were all great. Really enjoyed the steakhouse, the Greek and the tapas. Great food service and presentation. The beach was absolutely gorgeous. There were plenty of pools to choose from. The Dips swim up pool was our favourite. The service was aw [... read more]esome. This is a nice resort to get around. Everything from the pools to the restaurants and the bars were all easy to access. All in all I would highly recommend this resort to anyone singles couples and families. Thanks to all the staff for a wonderful experience at the Royalton Punta Cana.

Majestic Colonial Punta Cana Beach Resort: This is an amazing resort.

This resort is great. The staff are always kind, very helpful and just great, to name one Joan (Butler) always checking in to see how everything is going and always smilimg and trying to make your already pleasant trip better. Most of the food is great. I would not recommend the Gormet Restaurant. This is the only negative thing I have to say about this resort.

Bahia Principe Grand San Juan: utopica

This resort did every thing well. The service was excellent, all meals were excellent, the staff set the bar high. the rooms were clean with no issues, the internet worked, the beach was amazing, the gym was excellent, the pool was clean. Lots of lounge chairs at the pool and on the beach. Lots of shade on the beach if needed.

Bahia Principe Explore El Portillo: Great small resort

Easy to access all areas. Rooms very clean. Older sections need upgrading. All employees friendly and very accomodating. Resort is growing with two new buildings this year and two more planned for 2016. This makes for crowding at the pool and buffet. We are assured that they will take this into account this coming year. More chairs needed at pool and beach areas. Food is really great and lots of it.

Cofresi Palm Beach and Spa Resort: It took awhile..but it got better!!

Resort is large and built on a hill plenty of steps.....grounds are very clean. Although a large resort never seems to be crowed. Stayed in NON VIP section thru AirTransat Vacations. Had problems with no warm/hot watyer for part of stay...never replenished bar fridge..noisey at times..not enough umbrella/tiki hut around upper pools.

Iberostar Waves Costa Dorada: Excellant Value

Great hotel. Beautiful beach and pool area with lots of shade. The Japanese and Brazilian theme restaurants were excellent. Did not try the Mexican since two separate people we met said they were disappointed with it. Food was good especially the fish and chicken. Beef and pork were adequate but not outstanding. Staff very friendly and not always soliciting tips.
