Grand Riviera Princess: I enjoyed this resort

I went with the Platinum package and some of the perks were pretty good when I got a chance to use them. Although the Platinum Package was advertised as more of a VIP experience it really isn't. You just get a few extra perks that the other hotel guests don't have. Pros - private check-in with a private pool / bar for Platinum - private area on the beach for Platinum - discount at the spa for Platinum guests but you have to book within 24 hours of arrival - giant resort with lots of opt [... read more]ions for lounging by pools, greenery, etc. - buffet food was pretty good. Lot's of fruit options, cheeses, cold cuts, fresh veggies, and salads, with a variety of hot food options - service at every restaurant I went to was wonderful. Friendly staff and very attentive - very clean resort that is well maintained. I really enjoyed walking and exploring the resort during the day and in the evenings - massages on the beach were very relaxing - great beach with lot's of areas to sit Cons - Platinum hotel area doesn't really have a lot of places to relax. The cabanas and lounges by the private pool at the hotel area fill up early. I was often left searching for a place to sit. It rained a lot when I was there so I ended up spending most of my time in the main hotel area because there was more seating options there. As a result the Platinum's private bar / butler services were not available to me at these times. - the gentleman at the Platinum check-in reception was actually rather rude and talked down to me when I asked questions or needed clarification during check-in. When I was done checking in, he just pointed to the elevator and started working on his computer. I ended up carrying my own bags to my room. That said, out of all the staff I encountered during my stay he was the only one that was not great. All other staff was friendly, attentive, helped whenever asked, and smiled a lot - advertises a personal butler to serve drinks on the beach and at the Platinum private pool but this service was very slow especially on the beach (often close to an hour between order and getting my drink when on the beach). I ended up just going to the bar to get drinks myself. Waste of a perk for paying for Platinum - room was often not cleaned until very late in the afternoon so never felt I could go back and just relax - the attendants that offer the beach massages at times were very pushy in trying to get people to book a massage. On my last day one attendant approached me no less than half a dozen times to get me to book a massage. He woke me up 2 times and I had to tell him no at least 3 times during each conversation. I actually did want a massage because the previous beach massages were lovely but he was just so pushy he ruined it for me

Royal Hideaway Playacar: Fantastic Getaway!!!

Just got back from this amazing resort!! It was our second time there and we were still impressed !! Fantastic food and service!!! The resort is a perfect place to go to escape the busy world !!! The rooms and resort are very very clean !!! Our concierge Edgar was amazing and very good at his job!! Down on the beach we had Igor to greet us and help us every morning and all day long !!! Grand Palladium Vallarta: Awesome value!

My husband and I stayed here for our second anniversary and were very impressed with what the resort had to offer. The room was lovely and very clean, we enjoyed late night swims in the adult only pool that was open until midnight and the salt water pool was really neat! Al a carte restaurants were good. The Mexican restaurant was our favourite as we were seated in the patio overlooking the ocean while the sun setted and the waiter made fresh guacamole at our table. The only thing that wasn't great is that the buffet restaurant doesn't rotate themes so they have the same menu every day but we just made sure we went for lots of al a carte dinners. Riu Santa Fe: Wonderful Resort

The Rui Santa Fe is a really great hotel. The rooms are very nice and the whole hotel is beyond clean. Everything is cleaned it seems every day. The gardens are very nice with all the cactus and drought tolerant plants and kept up to a very high standard. We really were impressed with the buffet restaurant. I usually struggle to find things to eat at resorts as I like plain food (not spicy) but at the Santa Fe they had both. The pools are very nice too, it is unfortunate you can't swim in the ocean there because of rip currents but the pools were a nice temp. and there were lots of chairs and palapas. All the staff were exceptionaly friendly and helpful.

Ocean Maya Royale: Great suggestion!!

This upscale adult only resort met all our expectations. We were going to book a different resort but the tripcentral agent recommended this one and we had an amazing time. Grounds are pristine and well manicured. Our room was lovely but a little noisy at night as it was close to the lobby but conveniently close to everything. The service was spectacular and the staff were friendly and helpful. The food in the buffet was very good but the a la carte restaurants were excellent and no reservations [... read more] required. The only complaint was beware of the sales pitches for buying into prestige. It's basically a time share!

Bahia Principe Explore Coba: amazing resort

I just got back from an amazing vacation with my 16 year old daughter. I have been to Mexico before ( different resort) , cuba and dominican but this was the best resort I have stayed at. The food was delicious ( to good actually, I think I gained 10 lbs in 5 days) the staff were so welcoming and the place was very well maintained. We staying at the Coba resort but the beach was a pleasant 10 min shuttle over Tulum resort where they had a great beach access. This would be a great resort for families with small children as most of the pools has a shallow area and a gradual walk in to the deeper end as well as a cool water park that was just beside the bigger pool area. I would go back to this resort for sure and would have already recommended it to some friends that are looking at booking a holiday .

Grand Riviera Princess: Amazing Resort

It's a large resort.The grounds are beautiful. There are cats and coatis on site. My husband loved greeting and feeding the cats on our way to the main buffet. We actually took dry cat food with us. The coatis are unique little animals. They travel together and are often seen coming in and out of the garbage containers and making their way across the walk ways, You will also see them at the area around the Snack bar on the beach. Everyday day the buffet has numerous fresh vegetables and fruit, grilled vegetables of every sort, the typical grilled fish and other meats, fries, melted cheese and sweets. There was also a great selection of cured meats, olives and cheeses. Also beautiful breads. Rooms were spacious and clean. If you have mobility issues, there are carts like carts that run along the parameter of the resort. The beach was beautiful. There was a yellow flag most days, but it didn't stop us from cooling off. There was also a beach bar. I know we will return. It was a beautiful resort and a great value.

Catalonia Royal Tulum: Go for the beach, stay for the good time!

This hotel surpassed our expectations. The grounds are beautiful, the beach is amazing and the food is phenomenal. Great staff as they're so friendly and accommodating. We would definately go back!

Grand Sirenis Riviera Maya: Best Resort Ever!

Resort was super clean and all the staff were extremely friendly and go out of their way to help you. Very Nice Beach & Lazy River was great! recommended to anyone - activities for every type of person from the vacation athlete to the lazy vacationer. Great views and lush greens throughout the resort. Would give this 6 stars if i could.

Iberostar Selection Paraiso Lindo: Iberostar Paraiso Lindo

Honestly, this hotel exceeded our expectations in every regard: I have travelled extensively throughout the Caribbean and this was by far my favourite hotel. Check in was seamless and quick. The grounds were impeccably maintained The beach was extremely well maintained with no problem whatsoever getting a lounge at any time of the day...this is sometimes a problem in other resorts if you don't stake out your spot by 6:00 am. Food was very good with access to the a la carte restaurants no p [... read more]roblem...our favourite was the French restaurant however the Brazillian was also very good at the adjacent hotel. The entertainment at night was amazing and the first night we arrived there was a cirque de soleil type of show with very high calibre entertainment each night in the enormous entertainment pavillion. The rooms were modern well maintained, spotless with everything you could need including a hair dryer and supply of shampoo/soap etc., ...the shower was really cool! Honesty the staff were amazing, respectful yet friendly. I have travelled other locations where 2 women travelling together (mother and daughter) are not always treated respectfully by some of the staff. The best part was each "building" had their own concierge located in the lobby and you would speak to them to arrange trips, general questions and even check out there instead of having to line up in the lobby. Raul and Jonathan were our concierges and they were so happy and friendly to us always asking if we needed anything or if they could do anything for us. The amenities of the hotel: where do I start? Wave pool, lots of seating area around the pool, beautiful atmosphere, peacocks wandering freely around the property, coatis wandering freely all around . A really cool part was the "shopping mall" just outside the hotel where you could go to the "taco" restaurant or the "pastrie and coffee" restaurant and dine free because it was part of the all inclusive. This was my 23 year old daughters first experience with a vacation like this and when I asked her if the resort was what she expected, she said it was so much more!! Iberostar Waves Paraiso del Mar: Beautiful resort as always!

This is our 5th time staying at the Iberostar resorts and the 2nd time at the Del Mar. Our first time was 2003 and now back in 2016 the resort is even better! The beach is gorgeous, clean with the white sandy beach. The waitress served us on the beach and was always available and speedy. The service was very good. The swim up bar was really fun. She was so friendly and was always one step ahead of our drink order and popcorn lol. The food was good and plentiful but we wished they had more of a selection. Dreams Sapphire Resort and Spa: Excellent 5 Stars!

Wow, is all I can say about this resort! The food is amazing, they have a lot of variety of a la carte restaurants. Our favourites were the Cibu (Mediterranean) and the Blue Water Grill (outdoor restaurant and overlooking the beach). The staff are exceptional! They go above and beyond! The pool is huge and clean. The beach is fantastic other than some seaweed but they have staff cleaning it all day everyday! The rooms were very nice, cleaned well everyday and well stocked with pop, beer and lots [... read more] of water! What makes this resort better than most resorts I have been too are the food and the staff! I would definitely return to this resort!

Grand Oasis Sens: Quick Escape

We were in desperate need of a vacation, as we were going through some crazy renovations on our home. So we chose Oasis Sens for their chill vibe, and for the fact that we had been there before, and we knew everything about the resort already. We arrived fairly late, but were immediately escorted to the Sian Ka'an reservation area, where we were treated like royalty. We got our room right away and were in shock of how beautiful it was! The dinning was amazing! we of course ate at Benazuza and the Black Hole. We tried to get reservations for the Sushi place, but they were booked up. But it was fine, as we decided to head into Cancun to do some shopping and eating out on a patio in town. We were there to just relax and do nothing... and that's exactly what we did. We never set any alarms, and we just slept whenever for however long we wanted, ate whenever (room service), cruised the internet (with our free wifi), dipped in the plunge pool/ocean/public pools whenever we need a cool-down. We didn't spend much time in the public areas, but when we did, it was nice. Getting to town was super easy. Staff was super accommodating. The mini-bar service could improve a bit... a little slow to re-stock. i would love to go again, and probably stay a little longer next time. 10-14 days would be so nice.

Royalton Hideaway Riviera Cancun: Loved it

Every aspect of this resort in magnificent food, service, rooms, grounds, pools, beaches, and and entertainment. The only downfall which to us seemed very minor was that is not a "full adults only". The hideaway truly was however the resort was not, there is a family section in the complete other side of the large resort complex which you did share the main entertainment and restaurants with. I would recommend this resort to family other and friends

Iberostar Selection Paraiso Lindo: Loved it!!!!

Very nice resort. Loved the fact that there are so many different types of pools for kids. There are other Iberostar resorts and shopping mall at walking distance. The Star Kids program for kids is a relief for parents with young children. Ambiance is really good and food is okay. The staff is very helpful and they really care. We didnt remember it was missing until we had 15 mins left to leave for airport and she was in all tears. The staff tried their best to get her purse and Ryan (who sits at front desk) came running behind our bus (our bus just was taking turn) with the purse. It was really nice to see such dedication and we truly appreciate it. We left our vacation with all smiles and were glad that we selected this hotel. Grand Palladium Kantenah: Beautiful Resort

The Grand Palladium Kantenah is a beautiful resort that provides great value for the money. It definitely provides a high-end vacation experience. The rooms and lobbies are beautifully appointed and spotless. The staff are super friendly and do everything possible to make your stay a great one. The beach is like paradise and the pools very well cared for. There is a variety of activities to participate in if your care to. There is also a large variety of restaurants to choose from. This resort is 1.5 hours from the airport but we felt it was worth the extra driving. We will definitely go back one day.

Royalton Hideaway Riviera Cancun: Best Ever!

Amazing resort! It was clean and modern. The staff were unbelievably friendly and the food and entertainment was fantastic. The restaurant selection was amazing. The beach was lovey and clean too!

Selection Riviera Cancun: Azul Sensitori, Playa DeCarmen, Mexico

Awesome resort. No complaints. People work very hard and are very friendly..and we have travelled to many resorts. people that complain about this place need to get out once in awhile. We have stayed at the Royalton and other top notched hotels and this one ranks up there with them.

Riu Santa Fe: Great resort!

First of all a thank you goes out to Sunwing for our great flights, no delays and This includes the staff that met and organized us at the airport and our arrival at the hotel. This was our 2nd time at the Riu Santa Fe and we were booked into building 4 which isn't a bad thing if you are wanting exercise going to and from your room as there are no elevators, which we did not, and the next morning we asked for a transfer to building 7 and were accommodated within the hour. Yes there was construc [... read more]tion on the Riu Palace but that just kept us further entertained at watching those guys working in that crazy/awesome heat! The staff at the Riu are always awesome! Those people hustle from morning to night per a lunch time visit that we had with a lovely young lady named Brenda. She works as pool side entertainment during the day and was off to rehearse for the show that night. Food at the Riu is consistent, meaning there is always lots but nothing is ever too hot! Except the French fries!! But again when you figure how many people they put through the buffets in a day they do a pretty good job. Would I recommend this hotel to friends, yes, but as far as a family hotel with little kids, the Riu Fun land was small and quite a ways from the main pools, but if you are dropping your kids off there to be babysat then you might not want them near your pool! The beach.. Well groomed but No swimming in fact I understand that even wading could be dangerous due to the undertow. Price was definitely right for our October 17-24 trip the weather awesome, the grounds very well maintained and the drinks.. Well you can have as many or as few as you want!! Thank you Riu Santa Fe!

Riu Yucatan: Perfect for us! Amazing food and beach

We loved this resort. We felt like valued guests at all times..loved all the workers..it was the great staff that makes this resort stand out to us. I also appreciated the decent size drink cup they offered for drinks and straws if needed so we did not require the big bubba mug. I felt safe with the kids at all times. A few too many smokers exhaling smoke onto me and beware some rooms smelled of smoke..but there are different rules in Mexico I guess..smoking every where here I'm not used to this from Canada. We are non smokers and don't like the smell. The rooms/beds are small but sufficient . the mini fridge in room got restocked every other day with lots of water pop and beer. We did not want for absolutely anything. Every thing great. We loved Anthony and Jerry teaching dance lessons at the activity pool. These guys are so fun!! They were fantastic as was Isreal the bartender, Vidal, and our room cleaner. The shuttle was an easy 45 min from the airport. Check in and out went smoothly. The shows were alright. The pool could have been cleaner..a lot of missing tiles on walls of pool.. found them at bottom..debris in pool..stepping on stuff (small rocks and debris) in pool. Only saw it cleaned rarely. (1x all week) However, I was sad when it was time to go because it was the best time and we can't wait to return! Our kids also said they liked this resort the best of the many resorts we have been to. Ages 6 and 9. There are a few mosquitos so bring repellant but not too bad. There is several pool areas here its a very spread out large resort..a lot of walking and no elevators..just 9 3 storey walk ups. There are no ocean view rooms no room service no waiter service and Wiifii has a fee of $10 a day. We loved that you stay at 1 Riu but can explore 3 other nearby Riu hotels. This gave more variety. Lots of Wildlife here too!
