Sunscape Dominican Beach: Not bad, but would not go back
We stayed at this hotel from Feb 17- 24, it was not a terrible place, however I will not be back at this resort. When we originally booked it was a 4 star hotel and before we arrived it had changed to a 3 star. The Beach was amazing, lots of chairs at the beach and the pool. Food - was pretty average at the A la Carte and the buffets Bars- Every time you ordered a drink you were not sure what you would be getting, I ordered the drink special of the day and pointed to the picture and they still c [... read more]
Royalton CHIC Punta Cana: Awsome Resort !!!!
Hotel was very clean overall including the washroon around the resort, a la cartes were all good, steak cooked spot on, some of the best sushi i have ever had. Buffet had a lot choices. pool area was very nice and afternoon entertainment was good.
Ocean Blue and Sand: Expected more!
Was disappointed with the beach. Mother nature has not been kind to the beachfront of the resort. That said, the resort should keep the best part of the beach clean on a daily basis. Privilege status is worth it for booking of the restaurants but other than that no real extra value. The privilege beach area is very small due to the effects of mother nature. The staff is not very attentive plus there is language and comprehension barriers. Multiple power and water outages?? Food was OK - typical [... read more]
Bahia Principe Explore Esmeralda: Awesome trip!
This resort was fantastic! The food was of good quality (although the buffets did get a little repetitive), the two a la cartes that we did (Bella and Maiko) were excellent. Top quality service. The resort, including our room was super clean. The beach and pools were awesome. Yes, there was a little seaweed but the staff were always cleaning it up. There were some language issues, particularly with the beach serving staff, but no big deal. As a family of four with two kids aged 9 and 11 we would [... read more]
Punta Cana Princess: Lovely and well-maintained resort
This is third visit to this resort, and our expectations were all met as per previous years. The staff are very friendly and eager to help. I love the way the staff naturally burst into a song or dance while they work. The environment is upscale w/o being too stuffy.
Grand Sirenis Tropical Suites: Family Friendly
The resort proper was very nice and very well kept and clean. The staff were friendly and helpful. The food was good in the buffets but the two restaurants we tried were a little disappointing. We could not get into the Japanese one because it was always busy. My biggest compliment was the staff and my biggest complaint was the terribly uncomfortable beds. I would hesitate to go there again because the beds are so awful.
Grand Sirenis Tropical Suites: Nice resort
Beach/Pool the sand at the beach was nice water was not crystal blue the pools were nice and had various depths! Service the service was ok you'd sometimes get good service and sometimes not. Food was good but there should be more access to all the restaurants on the resort for dinner. Rooms were nice and big but there were tiny bugs that would crawl all over everything your food anything so a perimeter spray of somesort of off or something would be nice and helpful! Value was pretty good consid [... read more]
Cayo Levantado Resort: Paradise
This resort was outstanding. I can't wait to go back. Everywhere you look there is such beauty. The rooms where luxurious and I would be hard pressed to complain about anything. A week is too short! My next trip will be at least 10 days.
Bahia Principe Explore La Romana: Amazing beach
resor is starting to show its age, but still a good value. The beach is amazing as is the weather and staff treat you like royalty at all times. The aka cart restaurants have a very nice ambience and the buffet is well stocked.
Melia Caribe Beach Resort: Melia Caribe
Great resort, large, but get around easy with train and golf carts. staff offer rides all the time. Food exceptional particularly at Gabi Restaurant. Recommend staying at the Leval. Worth the upgrade.
Bahia Principe Grand Bavaro: Lots of fun
The resort is great, the food is excellent, wish we could have gone to the Italian restaurant but it is only open 3 days of the week, so chances are slim that you would get a reservation. The excursions were fun. The grounds are large but not unmanageable, takes about 15 minute walk from the main office to the beach.... Normal walking speed. Overall great experience, go with the diamond club, the fast service is worth it, you are also closer to the beach,a few other bonuses with this choice as w [... read more]
Casa Marina Sosua Trademark by Wyndham All Inclusive: Fabulous stay at Casa Marina Reef Resort!!!
I just got back on Thurs from Sosua, had an awesome time at the Casa Marina Resort. I would totally recommend this resort to others. It is definitely a 3.5 star and for the price its a great place to go and chill and catch some rays. Everyone was so friendly ....except a couple people I ran into but I guess that is everywhere you go. From Jose down at the bar to Lea the animation staff ....everyone made my vacation wonderful. I met many, many wonderful people here and made many new friends. This [... read more]
Bahia Principe Explore Esmeralda: Wonderful Family Vacation!
The Luxury Bahia Principe Esmerelda was the perfect resort for our family of four. The pools have shallow areas for small children, clear, warm water for swimming, as well as swim up bars and friendly serving staff. The beach has soft, yellow-white sand and most days the yellow or green flag was up for swimming in the ocean. Staying at Esmerlda gives you access to all facilities at the other sections of the resort. The resort is very large, but the trolley system they have in place is quick and [... read more]
Grand Sirenis Tropical Suites: Great family resort
Our family of five stayed at the Sirenis Tropical Suites this past week. We had a fabulous time swimming in their pools, enjoying the beach, and just relaxing. The workers were all friendly and helpful. They have a movie night for little ones every Wednesday and Sunday and live kids shows other nights. Due to windy conditions, we were unable to use our non motorized water sports. If you tip your maids and servers, they will make sure you are taken care of. Excellent vacation
Occidental Caribe: Had a Great Time!!!
Resort is good and I would recommend/return. Service in restaurants, bars and around pool was excellent. Food was good; had an omelette everyday, custom pasta bar was great, a la cartes also nice. Only downside; not enough lounge chairs around pools or on beach. This lead to people stealing chairs; witnessed several altercations and had my chair stolen once. Definitely affects the "holiday feel" of your trip having to battle for chairs and always having to leave someone from your group with yo [... read more]
Bahia Principe Grand Samana Roulette: Cannot wait to go back!
This resort was truly wonderful. Long walkable beaches, amazing food and exceptional service. Dancing at the disco on the beach was a definite highlight. Very impressed with the people of Samana and hope that they can appreciate our need to escape the freezing cold of our Northern climes. Particularly liked the fact that Samana does not feel overrun with tourism and the focus is eco.
Grand Sirenis Tropical Suites: nice resort
rooms were a little dated, resort itself was nice, well taken care of. beach was beautiful and well taken care of -very large. staff was exceptional and extremely friendly. nightly shows were excellent and a different theme every night. overall and good resort and I would go again.
Sunscape Puerto Plata: Great getaway
My wife and I just returned from the Barcelo Puerto Plata resort. Buildings and grounds were kept up well. Plenty of restaurants and nice buffet. Didn't care too much for the Japanese restaurant but probably went expecting what we get in Toronto, which it wasn't. We upgraded to a Club Premium suite in building 16 which "made" the trip. Highly recommend the upgrade although probably wouldn't book the suite next time, just a Club Premium room -didn't use the extra rooms much. This resort is just t [... read more]
Bahia Principe Explore Esmeralda: Fabulous resort with excellent staff
This is our fourth visit to the Esmeralda. The grounds are beautiful. The rooms are spacious. The dining is very good with very nice, friendly staff at each dining experience. The beach is lovely, but very crowded. There are many families with children all enjoying themselves.
Bahia Principe Explore El Portillo: will go back again
Our stay for one week was wonderful. The rooms are clean and large, the food in the buffets and ala carte restaurants is very good, better then we have experienced at other resorts. Make sure you book the ala carte restaurants when you arrive, they are worth it. The waiters are terrific, very friendly and helpful especially Ariel, Ruben, Jose, Pedro...great guys in the beach restaurant. The beach is a little overcrowded and you need to hold your chairs by 6:30 or 7:00am or you may not get any. D [... read more]
