the resort had everything you needed and more we did not have to to leave the food was great lots of variety very cleanand spacious rooms definitely worth it no reservations for a la carte restaurants you could go back more than once

Royal Solaris: Great place and value for a young family

Safe, clean, friendly, great kids club area, amazing value. Our 3 year old loved the kids area, the staff are great, the grounds are clean, the only negative things are the weak wifi signal in the room, the A/C system works great but the controls are dated and has no auto function. Also the pushy Nexus sales people when you first arrive. Other then that this place is great.

Riu Cancun: beautiful Resort

Clean, Food was amazing it caters to everyone. The rooms were clean, the persons at the front desk, pool area, restaurants everyone one amazing. I would definitely recommend this resort to friends and family. I would also come back.

Grand Palladium Kantenah: Overall good but.... DO NOT ARRANGE FOR A ROOM UPGRADE UNLESS THE ROOM IS AVAILABLE IMMEDIATELY

DO NOT ARRANGE FOR A ROOM UPGRADE UNLESS THE ROOM IS AVAILABLE IMMEDIATELY We arrived for our 5 day vacation and were provided with a coupon book upon check in at the Kantenah lobby. We asked about the upgrade that was offered in the coupon book and Jorge at the desk told us we could get an upgraded room in about an hour and a half. We left our bags with the bell man and went to explore the hotel. Came back in 2 hours and we were told it would be another hour. We returned to the desk in a [... read more]n hour and were told to go to our original room for the first night, that they were working on the new room and we would get it the next day. We had to check out of the first room we were in by 11 the next day. We asked if we could get right into our upgraded room but were told by Gabriel it wouldn't be ready until 3 pm. We decided to go for it, checked out of the room, put our bags into storage and went on our merry way until the 3 pm check in time. Not really a good arrangement because we were paying for a room for that whole day but were essentially "roomless". At 3 pm we arranged for our new upgraded room after paying the $300 usd upgrade fee. Cecelio, the bell man, took us to our new room, "room 2". When we turned on the ventilation system we were overtaken by raw sewage smell. We called Cecelio back to the room and he agreed that we could absolutely not stay in that room. He went back to the desk, arranged for the new room, came back with the keys and took us there. When we opened the door we discovered that the room was already occupied. Unreal...we were very frustrated by now. Cecelio called the front desk, made arrangements and took us to another room nearby. Cecelio was apologetic, professional and represented your hotel in a very good way. Room 3...we arrived at the room the front desk told Cecelio to take us to and found it was already occupied! Unreal...and very frustrating! Cecelio immediately called the front desk, again, to determine where to take us. Finally! Room 4 was lovely, clean and in a wonderful location. It took us a full 27 hours to get there and we were "roomless for at least 6 hours. Towels...there were no towels available the morning of day 3. We walked a long way to 3 different huts and were very disappointed we had turned in our towels for our towel cards the night before. Overall the hotel was really great, the food was great and almost all of the hotel staff were friendly and accommodating. The entertainment wasn't bad. We were, however, disappointed with a very disorganized room upgrade ordeal that cost us very valuable time and more money. If we had known how big a hassle it would be we would have simply stayed in our original room. The hotel should have made this a better experience for us.

Ocean Maya Royale: Wonderful week

My partner and I travelled to the Ocean Maya Royale last week for a 7 day vacation. The staff were all very pleasant, especially Maria Jose on the front desk. At check in, we found that we had a ground floor room, and requested a change to 2nd level room. Maria indicated that none were available at that time (Sunday afternoon), but that she would ensure that we were moved to our desired location the next morning, and we were. So thank you Maria Jose! The grounds were kept neat and clean,  [... read more]and our room was cleaned each morning. The animals roam around the resort, but don't bother you unless you make the mistake of feeding them. Don't do it! There are signs saying not to feed the animals and the staff will remind you, but we saw some people feeding them, and taking photos. The last thing you would want is for the animals to become a nuisance, and a liability for the resort. So, please just leave them alone and they will leave you alone. :) The food was good, not outstanding, but good. We did not pay for the upgrade to privilege status, so I can't say if the food is better in the privilege area. There are separate items on the menu for those who have taken the upgrade as well as certain top level brands of alcohol, so if food and specific alcohol items are important to you, then you may want to consider spending the extra dollars. We liked that the resort was small and fairly compact. The weather was hot, hot, hot - and we had a wonderful time.

Grand Sunset Princess: Awesome place!

It was my first time in Mexico. I travelled with hubby and 2 year old daughter and was pleasantly surprised. The grounds were beautiful, rooms were nice and staff was great. The food was awesome although we didn't get to try all the restaurants. There wasn't as much walking as I thought there would be considering the size of the resort. The animation staff was awesome. In particular the two staff members we saw almost regularly at the family buffet; Israel Lopez and Sergio Castro. They were [... read more] awesome with my little one. Entertainment staff was great. Loved this place so much that we've decided to make it our "go to" vacation in the fall. Can't wait to be back next year!!!

Grand Sunset Princess: Platinum is the way to go!

Recently stayed at the Grand Sunset Princess Resort with my husband and another couple. We stayed in the platinum room and were very happy with the service and the people. All of the staff are friendly and helpful. Pool was great, spent every morning at the ocean. Room was beautiful and enjoyed the Jacuzzi on the balcony and in our room. You could always find something to eat...the salsa and chips were so fresh and yummy. The only downside would be the size of the resort, it is huge. But [... read more] it is great to get some walking in and there is always a shuttle to take. Favourite restaurant was the steakhouse.

Bahia Principe Explore Tulum: Amazing vacation spit

The amenities and services were outstanding. Excellent food, great service, friendly staff. The sea is coral in spots, so water shoes are helpful. Bring snorkel gear, children will be amazed at the fish in the water. The sea is calmed for erosion purposes, which does not give a clear, unobstructed view, but otherwise, it was lively. We have chosen this resort in Mexico, close to major attractions, so once you arrive, it's not far to see other major sites. Our Dominican experience was equally satisfying. We'll come again.

I must say that it was a supreme pleasure to be at this Resort One word comes to mind Immaculate. I have never seen so many workers toiling to keep the resort in pristine condition. Bahia Principe Explore Coba: Great time!!

The grounds are beautiful! There were always trams to get around the resort. Everyone was pleasant and happy to assist. Coba beach was small but nice not as rocky as Talums. Taking a tram to the beach was not a hassel at all, I was expecting it to be. Entertainment was okay of what we did see. At the Hacienda the band was great wish it could've been longer for those who do go to the night club. During the Fiesta Mexicana there was nothing for those who didn't go. But the time slot we got was WAY TOO LATE! 1030PM We went with a group of 10 and all enjoyed and said we would go back.

Riu Playacar: Perfect Resort

My friend and I just returned from a week at Riu Plyacar. It was the perfect resort - not too big and not too small. Even though there were a lot of guests, it never felt crowded and there were no waits at any of the bars. Even on the days we slept in a bit, we could always find chairs by the pool. The resort and rooms were immaculate. Although we picked this resort partly due to the fact we didn't need to make reservations at the ala carte restaurants, we ate at the buffet every night. They worked day and night running numerous daytime events ( poker, aqua fitness, Zumba, volleyball, soccer, bocce ball and horse shoes to name a few ) and then ran the evening show. They were friendly to all guests regardless of age. Do not hesitate to book this resort. You will love it.

Grand Palladium Colonial: Super Toddler friendly!

I have two kids - age 3.5 and 2. They enjoyed the kids menu, the kiddie water park, the shallow pools and loved LOVED the shows in the Colonial theatre. They were up and dancing to the tunes. Best vacation for kids.

Bahia Principe Explore Coba: Great resort!

Clean, well kept grounds and rooms. Staff was extremely friendly everywhere. The hacienda don Isabel had nightly entertainment and a Mexican themed party you could buy tickets for. The beach was a short trolley ride away with kayaks and SUPs you could use.

Grand Riviera Princess: Fantastic week stay

Great value, food, drinks and people. They have all kinds of drinks Vodkas, Brandys, JD, etc. The people are so nice, always tip a dollar it goes far and they work so hard. The rooms are big and always clean, there are tons of pools, not too many have handicap accessibility We only found one. The sea was ok too much sulfur when we went so it was merky and there was a smell. The Zumba and foam party was amazing and so were all the entertainment shows.

Bahia Principe Explore Tulum: Owesome vacation

Hotel room is good, foods not bad, servicing staff very friendly, like restaurent...bar...front desk.....shuttle bus driver..... Greenly in the garden, beautiful grass, wonderful beach......actually very comforable trip.

The Fives Beach Hotel and Residences Playa Del Carmen: Beautiful, relaxing getaway for foodies!

My husband & I sincerely enjoyed everything about this resort- the layout, the restaurants, the rooms, the views, the staff, everything! We didn't do any activities offered by the hotel (besides the fire show, which was really cool!) because we mostly just wanted to chill and have no schedule or time restraints. But they did have a lot on offer, & a wonderful, engaging staff, so it was nice to know if we did start to get bored that we had options. We made use of the fitness center, which had new [... read more] machines & everything you need to try to keep up your fitness routine. All of the restaurants were excellent, with the only exception being Soleil. The room was massive, comfortable bed, fun towel animals every day, & only a few minutes walk from the beach. Everyone was extremely friendly, which made for an extra memorable experience!

Moon Palace Cancun: My golf vacation

I absolutely loved everything about the resort. The amenities, the people and the cleanliness of the entire area. The food was fresh, diverse and the dining experiences in the numerous restaurants was exceptional. Oh, and the servers: wow, nice people who encourage you to have an exceptional experience when there. I thought the golf courses were exceptional as well. Never disappointed.

Akumal Bay Beach and Spa Resort: stunning beach, reef and turtles

This is a gorgeous location, I can't say enough about it...the resort stretches along the beach so whatever you do you are only feet from the water. Breakfast, lunch, dinner, snack bar...all within wave-listening and viewing distance. I was there for a week before the renovations and loved it...the physical changes are lovely...room updates, balcony tubs... The lobster soup was delicious, the breads, fruit and cheeses were a treat. The mariachi musicians at dinner were fantastic. Some of th [... read more]e food on the buffet is not as good as it was on my last visit... for example, the roast beef and potatoes on the buffet were cold, the fish was not overly enjoyable... I missed the entertainment from the former animation team...ie early evening activities and lots of laughter. They even did a black light theatre show one night when I was last there.... It is now a bit sedate...lost some of the fun aspect for me. It's wonderful for couples, families, grandparents, etc. And for people who want to snorkel or dive every day...you could not find a better location! The beach manager was very nice, hard working and engaging. Beach waitresses were amazing ...Drinks very good...Loved the one-man-band. However, the beach towels are a problem...on our last day we could not get a towel all day. Too many hoarders... and some saving shady spots but never really using them. This was very disappointing. I would recommend this place to friends but with the above notes...next time I go I might ask for building 1, eat at the 24 hour snack bar for all meals and live in my bathing suit. You will look a long time to find such a beautiful corner of the world.
