The Fives Beach Hotel and Residences Playa Del Carmen: Great Resort

The grounds were lovely and the beach was great, the pools were good as well. All the staff were very accommodating and friendly. The rooms were pretty good, have had fancier rooms at other resorts but that wasn't a big deal. I must say the bed & pillows were awesome! Room service was very good and fairly quick. T [... read more]his resort is located close to Playa Del Carmen, it was very easy for us to take a taxi into town to do some shopping. If you are looking for a smaller resort and great food, I would highly recommend this resort.

Bahia Principe Escape Sian Ka'an: Resort is beautiful, but service was lousy

We generally had a great time. The resort was beautiful and clean. However, no matter whether you tip or not, you get rather poor service. It happened a few times that we were completely ignored by waiters, where we didn't even receive water with our lunch. We were also expecting to be served drinks while on the beach but that did not happen. None of the beach bars were actually open. The ride from the Sian Kaan to the beach was about 10 mins via trolley. Next time we will try another resort.

Bahia Principe Explore Tulum: Grand Bahia Principe Tulum

1. There are couple of places in the hotel is under renovation including lobby and the area where people meet for tea, coffee and chit-chat 2. We arrived at the hotel past 1 pm. Check-In was slow and out of the 6 rooms, only 1 room is available, the rest waited till 3 pm. 3. The room in general is fine except in my room, the toilet bowl seat is shifting, the bath tub not draining effectively. Water accumulate to above ankle when finished shower but subside gradually afterward. Told housekeepin [... read more]g but not fix. 4. Mattress is kind of old resulted middle of the bed sink 5. It's ridiculous for requiring to pay US$5 per day for using safe deposit box in the room. 6. Housekeeping service not stable. I get to know 2 or 3 of our 6 rooms were not clean till found at past 2 pm and called. And worst is that repeated twice or thrice during our one week stay. 7. The beach is not as beautiful as in the picture shown above. In reality, there are lots of HUGE rock along the beach. You can only go till the depth upto your waist or abdomen. 8. Services from staff are good in general. 9. Foods and drinks in general are also fine except too salty, especially the soup, and too sweet in drinks and desserts. And from restaurant Pescador, both foods and drinks is below expectation. Soup is only warm and foods are overcooked. At Le Gourmet, my medium rare fillet mignon arrived with 90% cooked. I told the waiter who told me will tell the chef but didn't offer to replace it or change to other dish. I didn't request either. All these matters restrict me to give "fair" in average though there are areas that are good. Example, services at buffet, services at customer relations, some at front desk, shuttle and porter inside resort.

Bahia Principe Explore Tulum: Fantastic resort... if you'er not a beach fan

It was a pleasant stay at GBP Tulum. We are a group of 12 people in 6 rooms. We all enjoyed the resort and the people that work there, from front desk to housekeeping maids. Rooms are recently renovated and look great. Although the on-going renovation of the lobby gave us some inconvenience, we were all impressed with the hotel management with the temporary arrangements. Catalonia Royal Tulum: Construction zone and a mouldy room

Pros: The resort was fine, the staff were excellent and courteous, and the food was likely as good as you will get anywhere. Cons: We booked a king/queen size bed and were told on arrival that they only had rooms in the privileged suites. These suites only had double (Not queen) size beds and they were jackhammering out the floor in the lobby / entrance, and using rotary drills to drill holes in the walls. We were informed by letter that we had to use the rear utility pathway to exit the bui [... read more]lding and get to the beach or next building so we could get on to the (Scenic path). It was impossible to nap our enjoy the room during the day for a break from the heat. Our rooms A/C was barely able to keep up with 30 degree heat, so unlikely it could do so in the dead of summer. The mould smell from the A/C unit permeated our clothing and even after washing at home we have not been able to get it out yet.

Grand Palladium Select White Sand: Great Family Trip

great hotel, grounds are spectacular, staff at resort does everything to help. Transport between lobbies is very convenient and efficient. Salt water pool is very relaxing and a unique experience in itself.

Ocean Coral Riviera Cancun: Good Value

Hotel and Staff were excellent, only drawback was lifts to rooms weren`t working for the whole of our vacation. Food in the Buffet and Ala Carte restaurants was fresh, tasty and service was very good. Beach and Pools excellent, good entertainment staff both at the pool and evening.

Bahia Principe Escape Sian Ka'an: A great getaway!

We visited from Oct. 13-20, 2016. Sian Ka'an is a beautiful resort; the grounds are well maintained and the immediate surroundings are jungle-like. Our Junior Suite was very nice though it could have used a floor or table lamp to brighten things up. And the lighting in the spacious bathroom was inadequate. The resort itself is not that large so pool areas, bars and restaurants were never crowded. And there were no children! The beach itself was great and with the adjoining Akumal and Tulum properties, there was plenty of beach to walk. There are several gyms but all are very small; even the largest (at Tulum) has only two treadmills and two recumbents plus other equipment. And you have to rely on the shuttles which don't start operating until 7 a.m. Since that is the same time the fitness centres open, the treadmills, etc. are usually taken by the time you arrive via the shuttle. Food at the buffet was quite good but theme nights were a bit disappointing; the only thing Canadian on Canada night was the flag, nothing in the area of cuisine! There was more appropriate cuisine of Asian night, but there were Asian dishes every night. We visited one of the on-site ala cartes and the beef was very good. The other ala carte we tried (at Tulum) turned out to be closed, which was disappointing. Staff were very friendly and accommodating. We would consider going back in the future.

Grand Palladium Colonial: Our one week stay

Although it was a bit of a rocky check in having to wait until 3 before we could get in our rooms and arrived at 12, our stay was fantastic!!! I loved how we could go to the other parts of grand palladium and have meals and drinks in other restaurants and enjoy the shows they put on as well. The staff was amazing, very attentive and willing to help with any questions we had. Grand Palladium Colonial: Two thumbs up!

The resort was very clean,grounds beautiful with lots of natural wildlife,loved the fresh water pool,naturally sourced from the ocean full of small colourful fish ,great to practice snorkelling.The variety of restaurants was great,but the buffet restaurants food was awesome too.Staff friendly..Tours well organized!No complaints what so ever...Thanks Grand Palladium Resort and Spa.

Grand Palladium Colonial: Great girls week away!

Great hotel, friendly and attentive staff. Food was amazing with many selections. Rooms were spacious and clean with plenty of bottled water supplied. The pool was extremely nice and wonderfully clean. They beach and view.....absolutely breath taking. Definitely need water shoes though. One complaint, I had emailed the resort prior to our vacation because it was going to be my friends bday while we were there. She has had a rough couple of years with not a bright future ahead due to illn [... read more]ess. I asked that maybe they could help us make her trip special. Not only did they do nothing, they didn't even acknowledge my email. Quite disappointing.

Riu Cancun: Very Clean, Beautiful Resort

The hotel was much larger than other RIU's I have stayed at However very clean, not a bug in site, hotel staff were always cleaning, touching up paint and maintaining the overall hotel. The staff were extremely helpful and quick to assist with anything needed. The pool bar staff were very friendly and fast at making sure you received your order quickly and made properly. It casts a shadow over the pool and beach making it a tad bit on the cool side with the winds coming in from the ocean. The food was really good, I recommend the Steakhouse if you are going to try anything. You didn't have to make any reservations which was a nice change, it was first come first serve. And there was never an issue getting into one of the restaurants. The beach was very clean, they made sure to remove any seaweed that was dragged in with the waves and Lifeguards were always close-by. There are some vendors who walk up and down the beach strip but aren't pushy like the vendors across the street. We booked excursions through Nexxus, there were some issues with our excursion bookings. We had to cancel our initial trip and book another one through a recommended third party. Which ended up being more money for less. (Which my group was not happy about) The overall experience at that excursion was not very good. The ATVing was really rough. They put two people on a one seater ATV where I was hurt from my behind hitting off the metal rack on the back of the ATV. One of our friends on the excursions seat was loose and they told him to still continue driving. Our ATV also kept dying throughout our drive. We went to speak with our Nexxus representative later and he explained there have been multiple complaints with that third party company and they are looking at dropping them as an option. (which we would have appreciated to know sooner) There is a lot of shopping surrounding the hotel, However be aware there are a lot of vendors who are pushy and they tend to get a bit overwhelming after a while. A three-story super market is conveniently close if you are looking for hotel room snacks. Very good prices and definitely a sight to see. Really beautiful supermarket. If you are the type of person who likes to be in the heart of where you are travelling, not sure this is the place you want to be. It is very americanized. Almost like a vegas strip. High-End stores such as Burberry, Armani, Cartier etc. are close by as well as big clubs and chains of restaurants. The flight staff with Sunwing were very pleasant, no delays, flight was on time and great overall service.

Grand Oasis Cancun: Awesome Time At The Grand Oasis Cancun

The service was great and the staff were very accommodating and helpful. The people that visit were all fun and the Entertainment was top notch. The food was great and a large selection of places to eat with different cuisines was a total bonus.

Riu Santa Fe: Great time in Los Cabos!

My boyfriend and I did a little bit of research going on our trip, and the Riu Santa Fe did not disappoint us ! The Riu is about a ten minute drive from downtown (14 USD cab ride). The resorts beach is not the greatest (the sand isn't fine), most of Cabo's beaches are NOT swimmable due to the water conditions. We did find a few beaches where we could take a dip In. We did one a la carte (Italian) it was nice, they also have a BBQ by the Infiniti pool around noon as well as a taco station before dinner. We did go into town a lot to explore and eat and would highly reccomend to do so. Entertainment was great, always something going on, it was an overall great first time in Cabo !

Bahia Principe Explore Akumal: Amazing Resort!

This was our 2nd stay at the Luxury Bahia Principe Akumal. We where there last year at the same time frame. We where even able to get the same building with ocean-view room again. This resort has everything your looking for and more! Water is ,well what can I say but great. Fish all around you while your swimming.

Viva Maya by Wyndham: Great resort; amazing travel agent!

This was our overall first vacation. Booking the vacation was so easy with Jack our travel agent. We also bought the medical insurance which I strongly recommend as we did use it for our daughter. The doctor was in our room within one hour of calling the insurance company and they arranged everything for us including the medications. Overall the hotel staff were so nice there was so many activities to do for the adults and the kids club personnel were so nice. My brother, his wife and their one-year-old all got the Zika virus....... other than this unfortunate event I would definitely recommend the resort to someone else it was so much fun they had a lot of activities during the day and I would definitely recommend taking a tour to the reef which is not far at all. So worth the money !!! The experience of booking this vacation was easy and I will definitely use jack as our travel agent again!!!!

Breathless Cabo San Lucas: Exceeded My Expectations!

The service and attentiveness of the staff was exceptional. They were genuine in their concern to take care of you and did it out of pride in the quality of their work and the resort, not for expected gratuities. The rooms were amazing - large, clean, excellent view, and turndown every night. Restaurant food and service was great. Had the choice of 4 a la carte restaurants with no reservations required - just show up when your ready to eat. The location was probably the best possible for  [... read more]this area as the view overlooking the marina was entertaining as we observed the activities of boats entering and leaving the harbour from our balcony. The beach was great and swimmable every day with no concerns of the undertow which was prevalent further down the beach. Short walk into town eliminated the need for a taxi ride. When I go back to Cabo, I will not consider another hotel - this is the place I am staying.

Breathless Cabo San Lucas: Wonderful resort

Great place to stay. ALL the staff are friendly and helpful. Restaurants are plentiful and all have good food. Two pools - one is a quiet pool. Beach front and a swim-able beach. ( rare in Cabo). The hotel has a odd layout, but once familiar with it it is easy to navigate.

Breathless Cabo San Lucas: Wonderful stay in Cabo San Lucas

The service at this resort was outstanding and the food was excellent everywhere, even in the small beachside restaurant. The staff was very attentive and friendly at all times. Whether it was the concierge in the Exhale lounge (Alberto) or Sebastian and Michel at the beach (Security and Serving staff), they never hesitated to ask if there was anything they could do for us and answered all our questioned knowledgeably. Our room (1st floor) had a toilet that was occasionally sluggish and the shower temperature could not be regulated. There is nowhere to hang long items although there is a ton of wasted space in the rooms where they could add a closet or a few hooks on the wall. There is a bit of a bottleneck in the rooms in front of the two cupboards that face each other. The beds have this half wall enclosure with these hinged wings that are useless and can startle you if you reach out to steady yourself on one when you get up in the dark. At the beach, they need to add a means of rinsing the sand off your feet when you head up the stone steps to the restaurants or your room. Awkward arrangement at beach shower to get to the stairs without one again covering your feet in sand. The beach shower stone floor does not drain well and gets slippery with sand and water.

Breathless Cabo San Lucas: Breathless Cabo was an amazing resort

The resort is small and extremely friendly. All the staff went out of their way to talk to the guests. This is one of the few resorts in Cabo that you can safely swim in the ocean.There is even a security guard at the beach ( Sebastian was the best ).He watches your belongings when you go to eat or swim. The wait staff at the ocean (Michel ) was very attentive and he ensured our friend had a piece of cake for his birthday. We upgraded to the exhale club which made checking in and out a breeze. Alberto and Paulina where extremely helpful each time we went in. If you are expecting ocean view you may be disappointed initially as you really only see a small amount of the ocean...but once you relax and enjoy the activities in the Marina it is no longer a big deal. The food was excellent everywhere we ate with staff ready to wait on you.Spumonte, the Bar foot grill and spoon where exceptional. The VIP purple lounge has excellent entertainment. This resort is located within walking distance to town which made it enjoyable to go in and even check out the bars at night. I enjoyed trying yoga and going to the gym. We also where able to snorkel by the rocks and see a fair amount of fish. There was 8 in our group and we never had a problem getting seated in the restaurants
