My husband and I just stayed a week at this hotel, Overall we were happy with everything and had a great time. The staff are great at this resort ! The food was typical Cuban resort food. They do have a lunch time pizza restaurant that is so so so good ! The beach is beautiful but lots of shells, if you walk down a little to the resort next door it’s beautiful soft sand to get in and out of the ocean.
We switched our Canadian $ to Cuban currency and we found this wasn’t the best idea. Th[... read more]e local bus only takes Canadian. All the venders at the market want Canadian. The bowling Allie on the resort was $5 Canadian … and so on.
Our biggest complaint is the lack of music during the day. It was so quiet ! They only played music at the beach for about an hour around noon and then at the pool from 3-5. Everyone we met was on the same page, that we were looking for somewhere to congratulate , socialize and listen to good Caribbean music.! Other then that we really enjoyed this hotel.
We love Cuba and their beautiful people.

Memories Caribe Beach Resort: Beautiful beach
The food has really improved since I was in Cuba last. The staff are either super friendly or super grumpy. Our room attendant was amazing thank you Yetty. There were a lot of shortages including toilet paper and alcohol that wasn’t rum. I had a wonderful massage at a very good rate. The beach was stunning with a nice beach bar where you could actually get something other than rum. One major complaint was they fogged our room for the cockroaches with a gas powered machine. They told us 5 min[... read more]utes and we could go back in. We left for the night and came back hours later and the smell of gas was still very strong in the room. I didn’t know if we would wake up the next morning

Memories Caribe Beach Resort: Best beach ever
I really liked the resort, staff and accommodations, but the beach was the best, allowing long walks both sides of the resort...
People are usually complaining about the food in Cuba, not here, I only went to the buffet, no need to book reservations for a la carte restaurants...
Entertainment was great, adjusted to the tourists' requests...
My room was nice and clean, didn't spend much time there, only to sleep and shower...
My only complain would be the sand fleas that ruined my last 3 days[... read more] in the resort, but I don't think the resort could have done anything about it...

Hotel Playa Paraiso: Cayo Coco Beach was awesome
I will start with the positive:
- Beach was AMAZING!!
- Hotel was in a great location close to airport.
- Gardner Osmani was very nice to us. Thank you for the hats!!!
- The lady at the 24hr bar. She was in the world cup section (irina?) She was always with a smile and very attentive.
- Food was ok 👠. Poutine and ham and cheese sandwich at the 24hr bar was AMAZING!!
Now to the negative:
- Our hotel room bed was hard as a rock. BATHTUB was a struggle to get in (we had to climb[... read more] up to get in) my friend had a hip replacement so was very very difficult to shower.
- Customer Service from the lobby to bartenders and servers was very poor (except a few that cracked a smile at us)
- We felt discriminated due to the fact that we were 2 girls, a few of your staff thought we were a couple and even one server blew a kiss to my sister in law.
- We noticed that once hotel staff knew we were not a couple they satrted to be nice to us.
- We had no toilet paper for a whole day, we complaint twice about it and also no phone service in room, the phone had no cord!!!
- water was running thru walls and into our plugs.. again we complaint to front desk but DID NOTHING!! We have videos
- Last day we brought our luggage down to lobby and asked were we can leave our luggage they told us to leave them in the hallway. We did as we thought everydody will do the same, but nope later we realized the hotel had a luggage room to store your luggage!!!
- One server in the buffet restaurant was rude to us the 4 days we saw him, giving us such a disgusting looks 😑 thinking we were a couple.
Overall i will not book again in this hotel. We've been to Cuba more than 7 times with our own families and this was our 1st time it was just my sister in law and me and never felt the way we felt this TIME. All resorts we've been customer service is been GREAT!!

Melia Jardines del Rey: Awesome Trip!
I spent the last week at this resort. The people who work there are awesome. They go above and beyond to accommodate all of your needs. The food was ok, not the best, but it was ok. The beach was wonderful other than the coral that had come up on the shoreline from the Hurricanes that they have had. The water was warm and refreshing. Always music playing on the beach, and the beach guys were amazing at getting chairs for you and sweeping them off.
Overall I would rate this resort a 7/[... read more]10. All but the food was amazing. The waitress Dayma was excellent. She knew exactly what we drank and saw us coming and brought it over just as we sat down at the tables. The bartender was wonderful. Very polite and well-mannered individuals.
The resort is massive size and our room was down in the back corner of the resort, so everything seemed so far to walk. I have bad back and hips, so if I go the next time I will ask for a room closer to the lobby as this is where the buffet and pretty much everything is going on except for the beach.

Memories Flamenco Beach Resort: Loved it!
I loved the Memories Flamenco, thank you Jean Arsenault for pointing me there! I have been to several hotels in Cuba, and this is the best! Staff were great and it is small, so it is not really far to get from your room to everything else. The ocean is protected, and the sand is so white! My room looked onto unspoiled mangroves and there were tons of birds. I plan to go back. One word of advice, don't cahnge your money. They appreciate canadian and american money.

Our stay at this resort was over all pretty good but they need improvement on their trip and fall hazards that were plentiful, especially the stairs to the beach one had no rails the other had broken stairs. Also, half the night time lights throughout the resort didn't work, I suggest taking a flashlight. The other big issue we had is that there was no air conditioning in the main buffet , eating in 27 degree temperature is not enjoyable when you have been in the heat all day. Melia Jardines del Rey: Beautiful resort
The staff was very friendly and accommodating. The pool entertainment were awesome. Giselle was so friendly and energetic. The grounds were preparing for the winter season. By the time we left, they had everything looking great. The beach was beautiful. We snorkeled right out from shore. The catamaran crew at the beach are amazing. There seemed to be quite a bit of coral so water shoes are recommended. Delicious omelettes every morning. There was always a variety of pork, fish and chicken. No p[... read more]roblem finding food. Make sure you bring bug spray. The bugs seemed to be biting pretty bad.

Hotel was in a great location, rooms are spacious, clean and bright. Booked ocean view and it was worth the extra to be close to the beach. Also puts you close to the lunch buffet.
Beach is nice and long for walking, and you could be far out in the ocean without it getting deep.
Water shoes might be good for some people as there is some coral along the shoreline.
Pool area is really nice, with a snack bar right there.
At this time the a Al carte restaurants weren’t all opened but being r[... read more]otated. Really preferred the buffet though.
Food was good, although repetitive, but I went for the 5star beach not the food.
Wifi in the lobby works pretty good.
Not ideal for anyone in a wheelchair because the paths aren’t level, although ground floor rooms would be fine for people with mobility issues. No elevators.
Coffee bar was popular in the mornings.
Small market right there was convenient to walk to for purchasing souvenirs.

Memories Flamenco Beach Resort: Amazing Beach
Let me begin by saying that we had a fantastic week at this beautiful resort. Our goal was to have an inexpensive get-away to a beautiful beach resort and we are very happy with our choice. We have done a fair bit of travelling over the years and the complainers never cease to amaze us. The staff work very hard to keep the resort running smoothly. Thankfully, we came across several like-minded people who agree that we were lucky to enjoy such great vacation at a exceptionally low cost.
Beac[... read more]h: 10 out of 10. Beach within very close walking distance to all units. No venders prowling, plenty of chairs and palm covered palapas for everyone, catamarans and paddleboats at your disposal, beach bars, and a beautiful sandy beach. There are many broken shells that without water shoes you will have to maneuver around when entering the water. We brought beach blow-ups along with noodles to float on.
Meals: If your goal is to eat gourmet meals this may not be the place for you--you will not starve, there is plenty of food. We only went to breakfast and dinner skipping lunch every day by choice. Breakfast was always delicious and there was enough variety for dinner -- Wednesday is Lobster night at the buffet. The bread and rolls at the buffet were delicious and plentiful. We only had lunch on one occassion at a restaurant near the pool where they made home-made pizza. There was a lady at our resort who mentioned that the buffet lunches were the best meals. We tried a couple of the a la cart restaurants for dinner and enjoyed the Cuban.
Staff: Hats off to the people at the front who are faced all day long with people who have issues--many involving internet. From tech support to complaints, I have witnessed the staff maintaining their composure and smiling while being constantly bombarded. Everyone who works at the resort puts in a lot of effort to make sure people are satisfied. I would happily exchange bills for coins for the staff who requested. I gave a grounds keeper my beach towels on the day I left because he asked me for them 3 days before our departure and I told him I would give them to him on the last day--for some reason the towels seemed to be a big hit. He wanted to show his appreciation and greeted me with a smile every day and one day came to show me an iguana for a picture opportunity and on another gave me a home-made bracelet. Understand that you will not be harrassed--these people are honourable.
Rooms: The rooms were large and spacious with a comfortable bed and balcony to sit and have a morning coffee. The plumbing is old but funcitional. The maids stocked us daily with a large bottle of water and clean towels.
Bars: The bartenders were great. Most days in the late afternoon the beach bars ran out of ice along with some alcohol selections, and one day even beer. This was no big deal--I am certain if we were so inclined we could have gone to a bar in the resort, in any case it was not a negative for us. On a side note, we did not book diamond club and my husband is a scotch drinker, so, we bought scotch at duty free on the way down to enjoy his scotch in case it was not available. Whiskey was available at the beach bar and scotch/whiskey however, was available intermittently at the hotel lounge.
Entertainment: There was always something going on at 9:00 pm beside the hotel lounge bar peformed by the entertainment staff who are multi-talented. A highlight was the sax player who gets the entire place rocking...he seems to appear on Monday nights in the hotel lounge after the Michael Jackson show, and Thursday night after the 9pm show. He is amazing and it is so nice to see everyone dancing and enjoying the music...we also lucked out when he played in the buffet during our dinner on Monday evening.
All in all, go without huge expectations, and be very pleasantly surprised.

Hotel Mojito: Another Wonderful Visit to Mojito
Mojito is a small resort that is staffed by absolutely amazing people...this is why we return over and over! After a long 3 years away due to COVID I was finally able to return for 3 weeks this November. The first thing I noticed was all the hard work the staff did during the COVID period to refresh and improve the surroundings - freshly painted buildings, the addition of a spa tub, extensive gardening etc. - the pride the staff take in their resort is evident everywhere.
There are still m[... read more]any shortages in Cuba for a variety of reasons, however the staff are masters at overcoming obstacles and adversity! No ingredients for this salad - another type is created. No supply of some types of liquor or mix - fancy and tasty new drinks created. I cannot say enough about the adaptability and willingness to please that I experienced. I also did not feel that shortages affected the enjoyment in any way....and I certainly didn't go hungry!
When visiting the Mojito I think it's important to understand/remember that this is not a 5 star resort - and it is unfair to expect 5 star amenities. The rooms could use some refreshing however they are immaculately clean and inviting. The buffet is extensive and filled with good food - but lobster and steak are not the norm...and realistically a gourmand would not choose Cuba as a vacation destination.
The Mojito is a hotel where you will be treated as a valued guest and staff go out of their way to make your stay memorable....a place where you will make friends among the staff, meet great fellow guests...and most importantly enjoy the beauty that is Cuba and the Cuban people.

Memories Caribe Beach Resort: Lots of shortages
Beach is awesome. Even the black market had shortages. Not only are there shortages of food, the food was meh at best. But you don't go for Cuba for the food.
Staff was pleasant throughout and tried to the best with what they had. You have to remember they work up to 14 hours a day, 6 days a week.
The stay was made difficult as members of our party got covid and were hospitalized. Hola Sun rep was good for the 1st week but then washed his hands of any responsibility as soon as the schedu[... read more]led vacation was over even though 2 were still in hospital. The hotel was no better and kept passing the buck to the rep. saying it's not their responsibility and offered no help whatsoever. This meant I had to coordinate, make arrangements, and advocate on my own which was extremely time consuming and frustrating to manage.

Memories Flamenco Beach Resort: Memories flamenco diamond club
Rooms need some TLC, well kept grounds, always running out of drinks cups and for some reason you always have to ask for a spoon at the buffet, mostly minor stuff, nice lobby with good service except for the older bartender at the diamond club bar that was only interested in serving and flirting with young ladies and didn't care about any one else waiting to be served, just trying to get laid I'm guessing, a total asshole, stayed on the third floor Jr. suit ocean view DC, second night there my[... read more] wife wakes up to water on floor on her side of the bed, it was coming from the celling, we were on the top floor and it rained a bit that night, went to the DC office seen an older dark haired lady and reported the water in the room to her, she was not interested in listening to us, just wanted to give answers before the questions were asked, told us not to worry about the water in the room because it doesn't rain in Cuba, we were shocked to hear that from her, overall a great beach and decent time at the resort but could of been a lot better
