We stayed at Memories several years ago. Being March break we opted for the adult only section of the resort. Had a great time. Rooms were clean and grounds were nice. Employees were friendly and nice. Service was slow at the restaurants and bar in the adult only section. Tables were not cleaned between customers-- just brushed off or in some cases blown off with their mouths. Lack of clean cutlery and glasses was apparent. Went to other parts of resort and had quick service with tables  [... read more]cleaned. (Don't know why staff in the adult only section didn't have the same work ethics as the rest of the complex). Food was good -- something for everyone. A large lack of shade around the pool and beach. If you wanted shade, people were placing their towels on chairs the night before under the huts--not acceptable. Bugs were bad this time--take spray and after bite with you. Had no problems with bugs on our last visit. All and all had a wonderful time.

Resonance Blu Varadero: Great resort

It was a great resort very kid friendly. Entertainment was amazing every night Be sure to know your way around. Not alot of info is given to u when u arrive . Go to orientation. Rooms were okay we stayed in gardenview room. Lots of mosquitos and ants. Lots of food options but good was just okay. Overall great experience. Beach was amazing. Staff very friendly

Grand Memories Varadero: Good size resort.

The resort is a nice size, it is long, I was in building #14, this building is quite far from the beach, so if you love walking then you will not mind being in buildings 14, 12 & 11. I must say we had a fabulous pool in front of these rooms, rooms in the 20 numbers is closer to the beach, lobby, buffet and party pool. I had no issues with my room, just missing a phone, told my Sunwing rep and she ordered one for the room, and they put the phone in the washroom. What I liked is the bank for money exchange is open 24 hours, just closes for breakfast, lunch and dinner, so if there is a lineup go later, oh yes make sure that your Canadian bills are not torn, as they will not accept them. The only real issue I had with this resort is the crowds, lineup in the buffet can get really bad, if you go after 8pm you will find it way too busy and you may not get in. I was here in March but told by returning guests it is like this all the time in March and April, so way too busy and loud. The food was ok, yes some foods are cold at the buffet but there is a microwave so just use it and you will have hot food, I did. The staff are great, my maid left me a nice note every day and wished me a nice trip back home, this was a nice touch. Oh yes, for those of you like me who haven’t been to Cuba for a few years, I found out you no longer need to pay that $25.00 CUC when you leave Cuba.

Memories Flamenco Beach Resort: Beach paradise

After our 3rd visit to Memories Flemenco we can’t deny that our main draw was the beach. It did not disappoint and neither did the staff working along the beach. The front desk and bell men. The food options for this resort need to be improved to make it a 4.5 star. One buffet just isn’t enough and it was hard to find viable food options. Also, we only booked for 5 days and were only able to secure one reservation for 8:30 on our last nite. That was too late disappointing. Overall, we came for the beach and the sun which did not disappoint but had we gone at a less busy time it may have been a better experience. The personal touch from some staff just didn’t shine through the way we have come to remember this resort. Will maybe go back in a few years if the reviews improve.

Memories Flamenco Beach Resort: Fantastic vacation!

Nice clean resort, staff are wonderful. Any issues were resolved quickly. Best beach I have ever seen. Food was good, Diamond club was a great option. We are already considering a return next year. Great recommendation by Marnie at TripCentral.

Resonance Blu Varadero: Love this resort!

Love this resort! It’s big so a lot of walking is being done but the whole resort is amazing ... staff very friendly... food is decent, and resort is picturesque! Service is a little slow but when I’m on vacation... I’m not in a big rush anyways! I will definitely return to this resort!

Memories Flamenco Beach Resort: Friendly resort

The beach is extraordinary. Clean with many lounge chairs and shade. Friendly service with a smile. Fresh fish, chicken, beef and pork grilled to your liking. Healthy salad bar options. Custom pasta, omelet, fried rice, smoothie and icecream stations. You are on holidays...be patient, smile and breath. Cappuccinos with natural sugar cane stick were a nice treat at the lobby bar. Sol Turquesa Beach: Awesome visit

Memories Resort is definitely a memory. It is a beautiful place to enjoy the warm sunshine, and the beautiful countryside of Holguin, Cuba. It isn't perfect by any means, but there are many, many wonderful staff willing to do their best to help make your stay as enjoyable and comfortable as possible. There were plenty of locations to get drinks from and everyone was so welcoming and friendly. It was a fantastic vacation. Location was great for a couple of day trips to surrounding areas as well. Sol Turquesa Beach: Nice resort

It was a nice resort. Clean. Alot of stairs not good for someone with mobility issues. No problems getting chairs at the beach or pool. The food was ok at the buffet (what I expected for cuba). Sol Turquesa Beach: Amazing

The food wasn’t the best and the wifi sucked but the stay, hospitality, Pools, beach, and everything else was amazing !!!!! This was a family resort so a lot of children. Lobby was always full. Would go back again !

Sol Turquesa Beach: Nice place, lots of steps

The grounds are really well kept here, the staff is quite good with our best experience being at the pool bar, beach, and a la cartes. Food comes and goes, some days the snack bar had more selection than others. The room was clean and air conditioning worked great, but they are off to the sides of everything. Be prepared to walk here, nothing is close. It is a large resort with a lot of stairs.

Food: worst - actually the absolute worst we’ve had in all of Cuba - from top to bottom - not NuCubies: we expected bland, unflavoured Cuban resort offerings, but in this resort, guests daily faceplant the repulsive, the strange and the unexpected: fried, oiled, grisly, unidentifiable... primordial root vegetables, animal organs and byproducts of a Soylent Green worriable nature .. daily - and consistently - crusted brown burgers that are pulsatingly bright red raw just a millimeter unde [... read more]rneath the crust... knarly, gristly, boney knots of lamb, pork goat and possibly apatosaur... mystery organs... “desserts” - shaped and coloured differently, yet tasting exactly the same non-taste. As well as the No’s: no fresh bananas, no milk, no limes, no fresh coffee. Breads: strange husks instead of bread at lunch and supper. This leads to bread hoardings when appearing. No buns - EVER - on burgers or hotdogs in all beach and snack restos. You’ll never get a mojito here.. or a cubata.. or a fresh daiquiri, or a pina colada. Acidic, harsh house wine that forced us to buy better out-Cuba bottle. Room locations: so far from the resort centre we weren’t sure we were still in Cuba. Mobility concerns: you must call for a golf cart cab. So, so many stairs.. please be sure you are either under 70 or genetically enhanced - there are, as counted - 10 steps from beach level to kid pool, 20 more to piss (bar) pool, 50 more to 3rd level pool, 30 more to top level pool, 20 more or ramp steps up to main level area. All kidding aside, this place is seriously a step exercise each day. View: none / absolutely / no rooms will have an ocean view / NONE. Sewage smells everywhere. So many other negative impressions, not many positives. Please:: read slowly and seriously negative reviews, these reviews are accurate. Most importantly: these impressions are from the highest peak season - the Canadian March Break - when services are generally at the best. The absolute only thing positive is the staff here - we never met a staff member who was not polite, professional and engaging. While we would never, ever stay here again, the on-site staff that we had any interaction with - are a true credit to the Cuban character.

Memories Flamenco Beach Resort: A true escape

Beautiful property and location. Outstanding people that work there. Great vibe. Food was so-so, but the huge selection allowed everyone to find something they would like. The lobby and lobby bar were a great central hub to the resort. Beach is unbelievable.... Literally...... When you see it, you have a hard time believing that you're there.... Something many only see in pictures. Will definitely return.

Grand Memories Varadero: Wonderful resort! March 2019

Great resort! Two adults, two kids - March 2019 Fantastic beach, lively professional nightly shows, very friendly and accommodating staff throughout the resort. This is a large resort. There is a lot of variety for meals ranging from the buffet to the smaller snack bar to the beach BBQ. All are good and offer lots of choices. Issues: Some venues had long lineups. Clean rooms, fun activities daily for kids. The washrooms were clean and well organized. We did two day activities: catamaran and jeep tour which we highly recommend. These were offered by SunWing tours. Weather was fabulous. Overall great trip!

First night there our toilet broke , they tried fixing it but it still leaked the entire week we were there. I must say they had lots of issues while we were there but staff was very friendly. It is a nice resort but it is definitely getting run down. By fourth day definitely had trouble with walking up and down all the stairs there. Royalton Splash Punta Cana: Relaxing family vacation

Friendly staff, great service and fresh food. Amazing beach and pools. Lots of games and sports to play to stay active. Safe for children to play and walk around. The water park is fun for all ages! They have a beautiful eco park and promote sustainable environmental practices. Going back for sure!

Memories Flamenco Beach Resort: Amazing!

It was a beautiful resort with friendly staff. Much attention to detail. The beach was simply heavenly. The food was good. We ate at 3 a la carte restaurnats and were not disappointed. We enjoyed talented entertainment every night. We will be back!

Sanctuary at Grand Memories Varadero: What a wonderful week we had!

This resort was great! We stayed in building 35 which was closest to the beach. A very short walk from the beach, the beach bar, the Sanctuary restaurant and the pool. The resort is quiet and very peaceful. We went over to the Grand Memories a few times but we spent most of our time at the Sanctuary. We would return!!!!

Loved it at the Sanctuary, excellent staff and service! We would return in a heartbeat. Staff very friendly and accommodating, resort shows some wear but rooms and resort are pretty clean, beach is the best part fir us 😊

it was not a 4 plus star rating hotel in the least.if you wanted a chair by the pool in the mornings you had to find a pool guy to get you a chair as it seem to me they had them stock piled some where and you had to tip them for getting you a chair.the line-ups at the buffet were 45 minutes or longer the choose was the same every night. the al-crates we had 3 of them 2 were the same because they said the others were all full by the time i booked them. i booked the ala-crates the wednesday when w [... read more]e arrived on the tuesday.
