Majestic Elegance Punta Cana: Amazing Resort

The grounds were well kept, public areas were clean , the food was amazing and lots of choices. The pool entertainment and staff was excellenté!!!! The rooms were somewhat clean. The beach area was beautiful once the seaweeds starting to disapear. I would recommend this hotel to anyone going to Dominican!

VH Gran Ventana Beach Resort: Mostly wonderful!

I went to puerto plata with low expectations as I knew this was an older area with darker sands. I was pleasantly surprised by the lovely beach and great food and drinks! I really enjoyed the blender drinks and the beach restaurant serving great fries, pizza and chicken wings! The snorkelling right off the beach was pretty good as well There were some negatives though. the wifi was on and off, which didn't bother me too much but if you were expecting to use it you might be annoyed. The rooms wer [... read more]e older, but ok, except we did find a dead mouse in our first room and had a difficult time changing rooms. I eventually had to speak to a supervisor. The beds were comfortable, the air conditioning worked well and the water pressure was good. There was a big problem getting locks for the room safes.... We could not get one the entire week!!! They kept saying to check back, but there was never one available. This bothered me a lot as I don't like leaving my cash and passports unlocked. Also, to get a lounge chair at the beach or pool was impossible unless you went down before 7 am and put your towel down even though the signs clearly say this is not allowed. Really annoying to see all the palapas taken and no one at them for hours and hours. The very worst thing about this resort was the vendors on the beach. Constantly being asked to buy....every day...all day ......not very relaxing...I felt like I was in a market the entire time!!!! I think the positives definitely outweighed the negatives especially considering the price ( under $1000 Canadian) I would go back for sure and would also recommend to a friend!

Bahia Principe Explore El Portillo: Fantastic destination

From the airport shuttle to the check in process everything was smooth. Quick simple check in and off to nice room. Ample sized with a nice bathroom and balcony. Only small issue with the room is pillows were flat and hard. The resort itself is beautiful. Very well maintained and kept spotless. Buffet and a la carte's also, all great! Hard to find chairs during the day but always plenty of chairs at the beach. Beach is beautiful. It stretches endlessly on both sides of the resort for nice walks. Sand is powdery and lovely and the water calm and lovely. If you like to snorkel there's plenty of reef right at your toes, literally! Some areas are covered in coral reef....others just lovely sand. There's plenty of areas for R&R and plenty of activities planned by the animation team. Really, they go out of their way to make sure their guest are happy. Bars a plenty and great service from bar staff and wait staff alike. Although tipping seems to make no difference in the level of service, a smile and kindness on the other hand goes a long way. All in all, a fantastic resort and location. We loved our stay here and although we never go to the same place twice, we would here. Tips.... Massage on the beach just off the beaten path, a must! $25-30 USD and you will be thankful. Book excursions with Manuel at the scuba shack. We did whale watching (nice big boat) saw tons of whales! Also went on the catamaran snorkelling tour which was quite lovely. Not a booze cruise if that's what you desire. More subdued but a great day on the water. Bahia Principe Grand San Juan: Grat Place! All as expected for the price paid

Coming back from a second trip of two weeks at Bahia Principe San Juan, i can say that for the price we paid its definately was as expected. Friendly stuff, lots of ameneties including a Casino ( for Advantage players : 3/6 pen ;) ) . Place can cater to many tastes in entertainment. It has several A la carte restaurants if the main bufet gets to repetetive with its food. The food is good, but the lack of change of variety gets a bit boring after the first week. Wyndham Alltra Samana: It could have been better

It started as a horrible experience, the room first given was like one out of a nasty horror film. Day 2 we were moved to a new room & things improved greatly from there. Many of the employees where polite, but did not seem very happy or smile much. However, there was 2 that made up for all the others, Carlos G, the porter & Robert, the bartender. They were a delight to see everyday & the service & smiles from these two was never ending. Riu Palace Punta Cana: GREAT VACATION.

Went with a group of 5 from Jan.31 to Mar.7 Everything was perfect.Weather in the 30 degree range,food was excellent.The RIU complex was nice,able to visit other sister hotels.Plus the beach was great and able to walk for as long as you wanted.I recommend this hotel to anyone.

Zel Punta Cana - All Suites: Great holiday and a great resort

Beautiful property, good food, friendly staff. The staff on the beach are very helpful. Hector on that staff was very friendly and helpful. The restaurant bookings was a little bit of a challenge, everything was always booked up.

IFA Bavaro Village: Awesome place

The area was great people were fantasic rooms were clean. enjoyed the peace and quite. Shortly after this trip went to 5 star in Dominion Republic needless to say we really enjoyed our stay at the IFA

The resort grounds were beautiful, the grounds keepers work so hard to keep this resort looking the way it does, the entertainment staff was also ensuring your trip was entertaining around the pool hello Juan, we enjoyed all the restaurants as well.

Iberostar Waves Costa Dorada: Amazing!!

This was my very first vacation so I can't compare but I had the time of my life!! everything from the food to the service was great!! I am already planning my next trip back to the same resort in puerto plata!

Everything was wonderful, Staff. well informed and pleasant.facilities were super. Rooms were clean housekeeping. Staff always smiling. Exactly what. I was looking for in a get-away. Very good value for the money.

Bahia Principe Explore Punta Cana: Amazing resort

Stunning grounds, nice clean rooms and great staff. The food was excellent and we had a great time. We had issues with our room key and door lock several times though, but staff eventually helped us out

Bahia Principe Grand San Juan: Great place

The resort overall is a great place to stay. We like smaller resorts and this was ideal. All amenities are central and rooms spread out from there. Very clean, food was good. Staff very friendly though the language barrier at times was trying. 1hour 30 minutes from samana airport a little to long. Needs a little fixing up especially at the mini golf, and some room issues that were never fixed. But none of these would spoil your vacation. I. Would certainly visit again.

Royalton Splash Punta Cana: GOOD RESORT

FIRST OF ALL THIS WAS A GREAT HOLIDAY BECAUSE OF THE WEATHER ALL THE STAFF WAS VERY FRIENDLY AND HELPFUL AND THE FOOD IN THE RESTAURANTS. POINTS 1 Grounds were kept exceptionally well: 2 Public areas were also kept well and very clean 3 Rooms were average with minor problems example: toilet seats were loose, some lights did not work, bath room and patio door both did stick and hard to open. No liquor in the rooms except for a few light beer. 4 Dinning was great for bo [... read more]th food and service in all of the restaurants with a limited section in each which in my opinion bring the food value way up ( order you meat vey well done unless you like it Rare) ,however quality is brought down by the buffet were the service was great but the food was often not hot or even warm. 5 The pool and area around in was very well kept and very clean, but little to no service for drinks. The beach was beautiful but a ways to walk to even after taking the shuttle train. ( I have a bad back so that might be a little unfair as it caused me pain so I noticed it more than others might.) So over all it was a good vacation spot, but I think there are better places for the money. This is why I would not recommend Memories Splash to other unless you have kids or perhaps a young couple who would still enjoy the great water park.

Occidental Caribe: Beautiful amenities

We stayed from From February 8-12, 2015. We travelled as a couple with our 6 year old daughter. We didn't participate in the resort events, didn't eat at the restaurants and did not attend night shows or casino. We did indulge in the wonderful pools and beach and loved it. We were not a fan of getting up early to save loungers with our towels - but whatever. Breakfast buffets were busy but good and evening buffets were not busy at all. Just wish our room had been more up to date and modern. We would stay again, but we would get a better room...

Bahia Principe Grand San Juan: Great Resort

We stayed the last two weeks of January 2015 and this was our first time at a Bahia Principa resort. It is reasonably priced and we will be going back! The staff were all great, from the front desk to the gardeners, always pleasant and helpful. Waldy and Jaun Carlos at guest services were delightful. The resort is away from any large towns which is great because there were few pedlars, in Dominican they are very aggressive, so sitting on the beach was wonderful. The rooms are clean and kept clea [... read more]n daily. The fridge was always restocked with water, pop and beer. The shower was always hot and plenty of pressure. We had a fridge that was not working and within half an hour of telling the front desk the maintenance were replacing the fridge. The buffet restaurant always had a huge selection, a few times the food was warm not hot. The different cheese and cold cuts were wonderful. The fish was mild and always available. They do not label what type of fish though. The a la carte were all different. They need to refine there serving skills, maybe it is the Dominican way. The food was inconsistent. I had a wonderful lobster, but my wife had a terrible over cooked mess. We had our lunches at the burger restaurant and bar on the beach. It was always great.

Riu Palace Punta Cana: Great Resort

The hotel is beautiful, clean and very close to the beach. The staff were excellent with us and we would stay again! All reviews you read is always based on the individual, I feel people are extremely picky and complain to much when posting a review. Massage on the beach was amazing . Book your stay you won't be disappointed!

Bahia Principe Escape Bouganville: Our experience in la romana

The resort was beautiful,the grounds were amazing and the rooms were very clean. The staf. Was as helpful as they could be and the food and beverages were plentiful. The sun was hot and the beach was welcoming with plenty of shade and loungers.all in all our 7 days flew by. Thanks

Wyndham Alltra Punta Cana: Beautiful location

Just back from a wonderful trip to Dreams Punta Cana. So many positive things about this resort. The grounds were spectacular, the staff were warm, friendly, extremely polite and accommodating. The entertainment was very good. It was great to not have to wear a bracelet and to have access to all the onsite restaurants without reservations. There were a few negatives: upon arriving and checking in, staff was there to give us our bonus bucks along with an invite to a new resort. We made it clear w [... read more]e had just arrived and wanted to settle in our room, get food and enjoy the sunshine so the person kept it short and sweet, but others complained to having been held up for an hour. When we said we would think about it and get back to them if we wanted to attend, they persisted in stopping us every time we came into the lobby and even called our room (not cool). The rooms are a bit dated but well maintained and the maid service was great and prompt. The staff tries to get everyone to upgrade for an extra fee. We are paying enough already, lets have the rooms equally as nice for everyone. We were in an adjoining room and could hear the neighbours tv and snoring. It was not too bothersome but still could be improved upon. Overall, it was an amazing trip and I would recommend this resort to anyone. P.S. we had the best beachfront of all the resorts in the area!!

Bahia Principe Grand San Juan: 3rd time and will go back again......

Everything was great, the service and staff was excellent.....always greeted with a smile and taken care of. Love the location and privacy of this resort, never feel crowded and lots of room on the beach....The food selection and taste was even better than before....Our room location was excellent with a nice view of the ocean........will definitely be going back in the future.....
