Occidental Caribe: Punta Cana Paradise!

Location, weather, staff, food and excursions were amazing. Unfortunately upon arrival, 2 hours after check in, our room was not ready. Every day we had to make a complaint and search down room service staff for wash clothes and towels. The rooms were cleaned well but not stocked well. We loved the location but would try another resort.

Riu Merengue: Fantastic entertainers!

Lovley pools, oven was full of seaweed and coral. Hard on the feet. Staff were great. Went to bravissimo at ocean world. Wonderful food and the show was wonderful as well. Also the cable car city tour was great

Occidental Punta Cana: worry free atmosphere

Sun, sand ,food, drink and great service made a good combination for a good vacation to relaxe and breath the fresh sea air along with the evenings sun sets.The pools clean and never too crowded, maid service top notch, bar tenders always full of energ nd available to assist. At buffet.s food could need some spice but could always find items to my liking. Thsnks

Senator Puerto Plata Hotel: Simply amazing!

We just arrived back from a weeks stay at Riu Bachata and it was just right for us. The people were very friendly and accommodating. The room was very clean and well stocked with different types of drinks. The grounds were immaculate and they always seemed to be cleaning. The beach and pools were great and even had waiter's on the beach bringing you drinks. With just a couple of minor issues, like the remoteness, which some people enjoyed, we would definitely return.

Senator Puerto Plata Hotel: Awesome Resort!

This place is wonderful. Lots of shade if you want it Long clean beach Clean rooms Always lots to choose from at the buffet or a la cartes Lots of activities Big but not too big and great service overall

Marien Puerto Plata Hotel: Fantastic Resort

Just got back from a very enjoyable week at this resort. The staff were all friendly. The food was fantastic...i did not make it to all of the a la carte restaurants but thought that the variety of foods on the buffet was excellent. The room was clean and the fridge in the room always well stocked but i did leave a daily tip for the maid. I will say that clean towels although they were always there were not available before 4pm once i figured that out all went well. The beach was clean and the s [... read more]ecurity ensured that you werent hassled by beach vendors. I think the only complaint i have was that it was difficult to get information from the front desk staff on how to get around locally. There was a push to take the taxi service provided or one of the provided tours. Otherwise a fantastic vacation.

Riu Merengue: Very clean and well taken care of

Wasn't impressed with food overall. The evening entertainment needs to be updated and more interactive with the guests. Good place to just relax and get some sun if that's all your looking for. It was okay

Iberostar Waves Costa Dorada: loved this resort

the staff is so friendly, the rooms are very clean ,constant maintenance on the grounds. We loved the food...especially the buffet which offered different things every day.. only thing wish we had had free internet even 10-15 minutes a day

Bahia Principe Explore Punta Cana: Amazing!

Great resort with beautiful grounds, beach and service. Can't wait to go back. The staff was excellent and very accommodating. The rooms were beautiful and spacious. The resort was exceptionally manicured.

Bahia Principe Grand Bavaro: Amazing, beautiful resort.

The resort was always clean, if it rained someway was their sweeping up the puddles, the staff was very polite and friendly, never pushy on tips, always there if you need anything. If you wanted to just relax you could just do that. Yes it is a huge resort, but it never felt that way. If you want to walk the grounds you could, if you were tired of walking there was a trolly that ran up and down. I would go back and recommend anyone else this resort.

Iberostar Waves Costa Dorada: Second visit as good as the first!

It's smaller than most, clean albeit dated, staff were AMAZING and made our raining vacation very tolerable! Front desk staff very warm and friendly, check in was a breeze and the animation crew were awesome! We were very disappointed with the beach being littered with tons of garbage but assume after 3-4 days of heavy rain and wind that's bound to happen. Dreams Royal Beach Punta Cana: Great resort, tour company could have done better!

Everything about the hotel was great. Service was a little lackluster and people weren't enthusiastic until you brought out the mighty dollar to tip. The entertainment staff was always great! Beds were uncomfortable and staff seemed to be much less enthusiastic than in cuba.

Sunscape Dominicus La Romana: Language barrier

Rooms in the new building are very well done. roomy and lots of storage space.. Don't recommend the older building.The grounds are well done with natural wildlife with all kinds or birds, turtles. The food is average to good at buffet. Gourmet, Lobster, and Japanese specialty restaurants are excellent.Our biggest problem was the language barrier, Found all the staff including the front desk don't understand or speak English. Even ordering a drink is difficult. you have to try the "Mamma Juana pa [... read more]ssion". When one of our Friends in our party left her life or death prescription in her luggage that went lost, the medical Doctor on site did not show any concern for her health what so ever, she actually told her to take a taxi into the city to see if she can find it at a pharmacy. Don't trust the staff, one of our neighbors, was robed of all her cash from her safe. All other expensive items were not touched. cash is not traceable. One of the resort dancers and guide was actually selling CD's to people tanning on the beach for $10 claiming all the music on it was the music from their DJ. ENDED UP BEING BLANK when I got back home. will not return.

Riu Palace Punta Cana: Beautiful 1st tropical vacation resort

I am 52 years old & finally got to go on my "very first" tropical vacation. I got remarried in October 2014 & this was our honeymoon celebration. What an amazing resort to choose! Riu Palace Punta Cana was beautiful. The staff were all so friendly, helpful and kind whether it be by the pool, restaurants, buffets, room service. We never had one rude person. The best part was the nightly music in the courtyard. It sure put me in my happy place. "Thank You Riu Punta Cana" for making my first tropical vacation a memorable.

Barcelo Bavaro Beach: Fabulous Resort!!

Barcelo Bavaro Beach (adults Only) was a beautiful resort with stunning views. The staff were exceptionally friendly and professional. The resort itself was very clean, new, and beautiful. The food was great and the restaurants were diverse. If you are not one to lay in the sun all day long, the activities available were great (yoga on the beach, volleyball, aerobics, games) and the staff that ran these activities were so friendly and fun. It was nice to be in the adults only section because it  [... read more]was quieter, more private and we had our own entertainment at night (circus show, magic shows, dancing shows, etc). We found the only cons being the WIFI ($, poor service) and smoking (allowed in many areas). Otherwise, it was such a fabulous experience and I would highly recommend it and I would return!

Occidental Caribe: barcelo punta cana dominica

The resort was the perfect size everything close by. Pools beautiful with entertainment going on most of day. If you want a quiet pool theres one of them too. Also this resort is right on the beautiful ocean. There was some seaweed which was cleaned up. Food in buffet ok but in a la cartes very good. Snack bars around pool good also. One day no hot water for shower but was promply fixed

Blau Natura Park Resort: Great vacation!

The resort was just as it showed online. Beautiful lush grounds, sandy beaches and great staff. It was a short walk to shopping outside of the resort and an amazing walk along the beach. The food was good with plenty of selections for even the pickiest of eaters. I would definitely go back.

Catalonia Bayahibe: Satisfied, but will not return

We just came back from two weeks at Catalonia Dominicus (end January begin February 2015). First time there, was ok but we will not return. That was our first all inclusive, so can not compare with others (did backpacking in the past) Mostly European tourists there (Italians, French, Germans, few latinos, Canadians). ARRIVAL: was ok, except our SUNWING representative "Eddie" did not show up for our meeting, which was frustrating.. We did not seek to meet him afterwards, figured we would discove [... read more]r on our own. ROOMS: are livable but kinda falling apart. Our first room ground level had an old basement smell, which we informed the front desk and they gave us another room on 2nd floor, which had not smell. We found hairs on the floor, the normal shower was not working, had to use the alternate shower head, had to hold it while showering. We did not upgrade to Privileged, so cant talk about it. STAFF: extremely helpful and friendly, except for those employees whose task was to sell us tours, they were really bothering us, waiting for us on the way to restaurant / beach / front desk everyday. BEACH: was okay, but Ive seen way better ones all through central america.. It has a steep entry. small waves, not good enough even for body boarding. The spots for shadow on the beach are limited, so there were always people going super early, throwing their stuff on chairs to keep them for themselves all day.. FOOD: The buffet was our breakfast and dinner choice, was pretty good, always found something our taste. The italian one for lunch had yummy pastas and pizzas, always a salad bar, and was quieter. The limited entry dinner restaurants were disappointing, we went twice and did not return, thus did not use our 8 entries. The smoothie bar is GREAT, can get a yummy healthy fruit smoothie all day. DRINKS: were good, except for the beer that seemed to have a 0.5 content alcohol and the wines were nothing I will miss. SPORTS: Volleyball games 2x per day, was great!! Gym with minimal equipment. the pulling machine broke a couple of days after I got there.. bench, treadmills in air conditioned. Tennis court in good condition. SNORKLING: Can get equipment for free, only deposit is required $20. Snorkling next to resort, at the deepest of swimming area was basic (3-4 different types of fish, attracted by artificial construction), some better snorkling about 10 min walk west, few resorts over, where more fish and some corals are to be seen. DIVING: Staff at Diving store at resort will not tell you about the above mentioned place.. they want to sell their diving tours, which are VERY expensive ($60 US per dive, + $ for gas for dives that are far.) I did three dives with them to find out there is another dive shop that offers way better deals. (cant remember name, is on the internet) ENTERTAINMENT: seemed to be ok; shows after dinner, and party until 3-5 am for those wanting to, but we did not take advantage of this. We only went to one show, was great 70s-80s dance interpretation by entertainment staff. SURROUNDINGS: other resorts both ways, nothing to see otherwise, you are pretty much isolated in an artificial resort area. Trips to city are available, which we did not do. Overall was good, but I will not return because I want: -better snorkling, -better diving -something to visit outside the resort

Riu Palace Punta Cana: amazing clean resort

We had a wonderful time. The accommodations and the clean grounds were beautiful.The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The food at the buffets was excellent and the restaurants were also good. Thanks for a great week.

Riu Bambu: Average resort

Resort is older, food was ok nothing special, drinks are awful both alcoholic and non, juices were very syrupy and sweet. Dishes always dirty in all dining areas. Staff was friendly and entertainment was ok some shows better than others. Not many seats at the pool due to people saving with towels. We removed towels and sat in the chairs anyway and the people who left there towels never came to use the chairs. Overall wouldn't recommend this resort.
