Sunscape Coco Punta Cana: Had a great time!
Two of my friends and I went to this resort the week of Jan 25 - Feb 1st 2015 and we had a great time. The staff was super friendly and always made us feel welcome. We upgraded from the standard room to get the superior deluxe room and our room was really nice. I did find that there was a language barrier for myself, since some of the staff spoke very little English. After it rained I noticed there was a seaweed problem the next morning. However, they did their best to clean it up! We mostly spe [... read more]
Bahia Principe Grand San Juan: not bad resort
It wasn,t a four star but the rooms were clean and newly renovated, it was a large resort with lots of activities to do , the activation team was good, but the nightly entertainment sucked, there was really no shows unless drunks got on the stage, It rained for three days. the marble floors were so slippery two people I know of broke their legs, they should have used more signage. The food was ok but no variety it was the same for seven days if you were creative you didnt eat the same thing everyda [... read more]
Occidental Punta Cana: Amazing Resort
This is our third yr going to this resort and we will go again next yr. The resort has purchased more beach chairs so we had no problem getting a beach chair every day. We stay for 2 weeks and we enjoyed every minute. The resort really works hard at keeping the beach clean and we walk an hr everyday and we noticed other resorts had a lot of seaweed that wasn't being cleaned up. Our resort has a much wider and longer beach than a lot of other resorts as well. Also they have improved in the area o [... read more]
Melia Caribe Beach Resort: Resort is beautiful, but has some issues
The resort itself is spotless, the dining rooms are beautiful, the food is in need of improvement, I got food poisoning, after that was afraid to eat much. The service the waiters etc. was excellent. The rooms are beautiful, but the cleaning of rooms was very , we came back from the beach late afternoon to find the room still not made up No makeup mirrors in the room was my wife's pet peeve. The helicopters buzzing the beach all day made it hard to relax on the beach. The seaweed on the beach wa [... read more]
Bahia Principe Grand Samana Roulette: Cayacoa is the choice for us!
The Cayacoa hotel was lovely, just the right size with the right number of people to spend your vacation with. The beach and pool were not overly crowded and it was always easy enough to find lounge chairs and a place to relax. The outdoor bar patio was the perfect spot to drink your morning coffee and overlook the bay ... gorgeous. We booked through Air Canada Vacations but rep in Dominican proved to be similar to that of a salesman and lost interest quickly in his clients once he made a sale [... read more]
Casa Marina Sosua Trademark by Wyndham All Inclusive: Amazing resort
The place was amazing. The grounds were the nicest we have been too. The food was very good, plenty,a and a good variety. The staff was great. Very helpful and very friendly. There are 3 pools, 3 jacuzzis, 2 beaches. Lots of games during the day, good shows at night, and a good disco. A great place for friends and families. Very reasonable too!!!!!
Casa Marina Sosua Trademark by Wyndham All Inclusive: Great location!
I love this resort the most for the experience with the locals right on the strip of the town where all the fun bars are and the popular local beach! I have never had that on our yearly all inclusive vacations. Everything was walking distance and was nice when we could go and adventure around and feel safe on the town. We went into town dayly and even exchanged money with the locals on the strip which was much better rate than the hotel. One thing didn't like was the snack bar started at 12am wh [... read more]
Bahia Principe Explore Esmeralda: Great resort!
Although we stayed at the Gr.Esmeralda section of Bahia Principe, we had access to all amenities of the other 4 sections (Turquesa, Bavaro, Punta Cana, Ambar). This was great as we were able to use the pools, bars, and all restaurants. Guests from Ambar (adults only) and GrEsmer. Have full access....so worth the extra $. The grounds were impeccable! Hard working staff. rooms very nice, large, clean. Food and drink available always.
Marien Puerto Plata Hotel: Great Holiday
Found the staff friendly, enjoyed the meals. We had great dinners at the Brazilian restaurant, food was great and the staff very friendly, service excellent and we could not have asked for a better time. We ate there our last night and in speaking to the manager told him it made our final night there the best.
Punta Cana Princess: Punta Cana Princess
The rooms were amazing. The staff were absolutely incredible. Food tasted good however my husband was sick majority of the week and also once we returned home. The beach area was great and butler service was awesome on the beach. Water was great for swimming.
Marien Puerto Plata Hotel: Awesome Time!
Had a wonderful time! If you want a five star resort, pay for a 5 star resort. If you want a lot of fun, decent hotel, not bad food, lots to do or just relax, this is a great place. Would go back again!
Marien Puerto Plata Hotel: Good value for money
Travelled January 29-February 5, 2015. Resort had well kept grounds and nice pool areas with lots of lounge chairs and was never overly crowded. Had a large eating area and buffet was good with lots of choices. A la carte restaurants were good too. Nice and close to airport. Somehow got an upgraded room so we were happy with that. Great room and most comfortable hotel bed we've ever had! The worst part for me is the annoying time share people who approach you every time you go to buffet. They ar [... read more]
Whala Bavaro: Well located resort
We visited the resort at the end of January. The beach was the big draw for us and the proximity of it was great. We had a suite and the area was quiet, nice pool and the suite roomy an comfortable although we had to move the second day and there was no problem doing so. Jose and Santana at the front desk are very helpful and dedicated. This is a small resort with no lineups, clean with adequate food. The only poor comment is for the coffee. Machine dispensed with coffee syrup. A french bakery [... read more]
Casa Marina Sosua Trademark by Wyndham All Inclusive: Resort needs a makeover!
We visited the Casa Marina Beach and Reef resort from January 29th to February 5, 2015. The resort grounds are nice but the rooms need a definite makeover. We were placed in a room that was very old. There are no fridges in the rooms, no hair dryers and in the room we were in there was not even a plug in the bathroom so you could shave or dry your hair. The bath tub was old, dirty and splattered with paint and mortar. We had one day of rain and we had a ceiling leak in our room over the bed. Upo [... read more]
Marien Puerto Plata Hotel: an OK resort but....
We travelled here with 3 other couples. We are all regular Canadian country boys and girls, 40 somethings who travel every year. We always travel last minute because we get the best deal that way. On the net this resort was rated 4+ and we payed $1050 so we did pretty good. I will give you the bad then the good. The Bad; Buffet. We all love to eat, the food here was mediocre at best. Not that it was bad but not much selection. We only saw bacon once all week. The buffet features different themes [... read more]
Occidental Caribe: Excellent Resort
This is my fourth times at this hotel and still satisfy overall, food still very good, rooms needs a bit of update but very clean, entertainment is ok but could be updated. In general was excellent...
Occidental Caribe: OK trip!
The exterior of the hotel is really nice! The rooms look like they are very well used! We had several issues with the room e.g. our safe didn't lock; the toilet seat was broken; the trash can in the bathroom was broken; the lock on the sliding veranda doors was broken; the water in the rooms wasn't potable; and the air conditioner leaked in the ceiling making the dropped ceiling stringers all rusty and leaking on the floor every day; Staff did come to fix most of the issues soon after they were [... read more]
Wyndham Alltra Punta Cana: a little dated
We are regulars at Dreams and were a little disappointed with our room. The sink drain smelled so bad we had to keep the plug closed; our mini bar was not cold and promises to keep it stocked with extra beer was not kept; the rooms and things around the resort are showing their age. The food (hamburgers and hot dogs at the beach and pool everyday) was nothing special, especially compared to past visits. However, the grounds, pool, beach and spa are great and the staff was friendly.
Grand Palladium Punta Cana: Huge Resort
We stayed at the Grand Palladium Resort from Jan 26-feb 2 We did enjoy our stay for the most part, the room was clean and the food was really good however the drinks seemed to be all the same coconutty flavour it got a bit boring after a while so i just drank mojitos and my husband and friends beer . The language barrier was verry apparent as we asked for our fridge to be repaired 3x finally they came the 3rd day so nothing was cold for 3 days oh well as well the maid did not understand when we [... read more]
Royalton Punta Cana Resort: Great Vacation
We had a wonderful time at this resort. It was our second visit & was just as great this time around. The food is excellent and service was wonderful. They have some wonderful swim out rooms and the water park at their sister resort next door is awesome.
