Occidental Arenas Blancas: HORRIBLE RESORT!
The Occidental Arenas Blanca is the absolute worst resort I've ever stayed at in Cuba and I've been to Cuba 12 times! There were tiny red ants in everything in the rooms. My entire body was covered in bites when I woke up the first night. The sheets were stained and disgusting. There were cockroaches in the room and the buffet! We had no bath towels or pool towels for 4 days! There were rats in the lobby! The pool is nothing but a hazard, broken/missing tiles, no grates or broken grates around [... read more]
Barcelo Maya Colonial: Great vacation!
This was our first time in Mexico and our first all-Inclusive resort in years. The grounds and facilities were immaculate and very clean. The majority of the staff were excellent and took very good care of us. There were a couple of points about the resort that I had issue with however. First of all, I did not care for the Dolphinarium onsite. I was very surprised that in this day and age that they continue to have dolphins in captivity in a very small pool. This is something that I do not supp [... read more]
Occidental Tucancun: To an intimate hotel, thanking for hospitality.
We should like Occidental Hotel to know how immensely we enjoyed our travel in Mexico couple days ago. Apart from the good food and entertainment that you so good provided, it was your hotel that gave me a satisfaction that is to last a very long time. Many thanks to you Occidental Hotel for your hospitality.
Occidental at Xcaret Destination: Already wanna go back!
The resort was beautiful and had a more authentic feel. You really feel like you’re in the rainforest with the surrounding lush trees and wild animals roaming the grounds. Staff were extremely friendly, although beware of them trying to convince you to opt into a timeshare. The food was delicious, some of which I would pay to eat back home! Bartenders would you make you special drinks, I asked for something fruity and they would surprise me with something different every time. The pools are cl [... read more]
Barcelo Bavaro Palace: Amazing Resort
We've been to DR at least 8+ times, and by far this was the best resort. We did spoil ourselves with the Ocean Front Premium Level room, which had many perks associated with it, and well worth the extra few $$. The room location was as described - an actual ocean front room, very clean and modern looking. The beach was beautiful and very clean. The restaurants were fantastic, service, menu options and quality of meal. The staff was great pleasant and helpful. The kids loved the splash par [... read more]
Occidental Caribe: Great value
Rooms are good Ocean view beautiful. Food was fantastic although at nicer restaurants could wait up to 45 min between courses. Beach and pool areas beautiful and most staff were lovely. Wish there had been some variety of music by pool. Same stuff over and over. All boom boom boom Alcohol not very high standards but I suppose that is the same for most all Inclisives. Grounds very clean. On the whole a good resort for the price!
Occidental at Xcaret Destination: very kid friendly resort

Barcelo Maya Palace: Amazing resort
Beautiful beach, clean surroundings, excellent restaurants and high quality food. Friendly staffs everywhere, specially In buffet they are almost raining between tables to take away used dishes. Entertaining every night every where so gusts never felt boring.
Barcelo Maya Colonial: Huge and wonderful resort!
Hotel staff were great! Very spacious and clean rooms. Grounds very well groomed. Shows were wonderful! Food was exceptional, especially the Capri Italian al la carte. If your going, you need to take the Mayan Ruins excursion aswell as the Rio Secerto. Both well worth going on.
Occidental at Xcaret Destination: Vacation in paradise
The Hotels settings were breath taking. It was a like a little village nestled in the jungle. Couldn’t have asked for a more beautiful place. The staff were friendly and inviting and went out of there way to make you feel welcome.
Barcelo Solymar: Amazing resort
the resort it self was amazing! food was great although could have changed the foods once in a while, beaches were amazing , our room got an upgrade to a bungalow due to renos, which was fine. minutes from town shopping and amazing staff. pools and bars were amazing, will be comming back soon:)
Palma Real: Surprisingly good!
My 3rd time here recently (Sept 28 to Oct 5 2019. Not much has changed since I was first here 14 years ago. It's a nice resort. Basic rooms. Beds could be a little more comfortable but still adequate. We had a few nice surprises with the food...a couple of our meals were extremely good. always something good to eat...we never went without. Beach is beautiful. Bar and restaurant there are awesome. Staff was nice and helpful. One of the pools is closed. The one with the pool bar. Hotel is downto [... read more]
Palma Real: Worst vacation ever
It was not a good experience. The hotel is in bad condition, rooms are moldy and smelly. The bed sheets were damp and smelly when we arrive. It took 4 hours for them to be changed after complaining to the front desk, by then it was almost midnight. While they did tidy up the rooms everyday, some towels were not fresh, seems like unwashed. The food is not clean, flies everywhere, cockroach in soup, when complained to the cook, he said it was just spice, errrrrrr.
Occidental at Xcaret Destination: Absolutely amazing
Occidental xcaret was the best resort that we have ever stayed at & we have been at at least 40 different resorts, the grounds were beautiful, the hotel was very clean, as I am a cleaner & look for this, food was great, hotel staff make you feel very welcome, beach was amazing, we picked this resort because of it being in the jungle with all the wildlife & the xcaret park next to the resort we didn’t expect to have such an amazing time, we plan on going back in May & we have told all our famil [... read more]
Palma Real: Love this hotel
I always stay at this hotel, amazing staff and in terms of room and food; you get what you paid for. I usually dine out most of the time, depending on the night and the type of the food available at the buffa. Overall the location is 5 star and that is what I’m looking for.
Allegro Playacar: Beautiful beach!
Grounds well kept, someone always sweeping and trimming plants and trees. Rooms very small but clean.Air conditioning worked well. We were in room 5212, great location close to pool and beach but unfortunately some very loud people out at pool till 3-4 am screaming and swearing which was a little frustrating as I had two children with me. Probably should have complained but my own fault I hate being that person. Food was overall great could use some more kid friendly options as they were not int [... read more]
Allegro Playacar: Good
Staff was very friendly rooms very small but clean lunch and breakfast were the best meal of the day. Needed better variety for dinner. Beach was amazing the value for the money was good.also needed some work on the evening entertainment. Traveled with children and all the staff treated them like they were kings and queens couldn’t ask for more.
Barcelo Solymar: Worst resort
I came back very sick ( until now ). Bacteria in the water and food. There is no hot water in resort . Food every day the same . In cafeteria no ac that is why bacteria in food. When I buying calling card ( wifi ) for one person one $ 1 us dollar for someone else $3 us dollars. Everyone have different prices for the same thing, There is no disco or entertainment in resort . Stop lying on your website about disco or drinks international 24 hrs. doesn't exist. there is only beer after 22.00 [... read more]
Occidental Tucancun: Excellent hotel with a relaxing atmosphere
Great hotel with options to be away from the crowd. Lots of little quiet spots for real relaxation. Food is ok, staff generally very nice and friendly. Situitated 60 steps from a mall, great for a stroll when you need a break from the sun. The beach is really nice, it's pretty empty in mid September. Great for body surfing on waves up to 3 feet. Only down side is weeds, lots of it.
Palma Real: Good resort
It is a good resort situated close to everything. I have been a few times and the staff are friendly and helpful. The food was okay and great deserts. Lots to do in the area also. The resort has several swimming pools and a snack bar as well as a few a-la-cart restaurants including Cuban and Italian foods.
