Iberostar Waves Paraiso Beach: Awesome resort!

We thought this resort was very nice! We were happy with our family suite, the maids did an awesome job picking up after us each day and making it feel like home for us! The pool and beach were awesome as well. One thing with little children is that the resort was very big and we had to do a lot of walking everywhere we went.

Iberostar Origin Daiquiri: Picturesque Resort

We have visited many resorts and keep coming back to this smaller, picturesque resort. The beach is excellent with crystal clear water. If a storm brings in seaweed the beach is cleaned quickly and this area is well maintained. The rooms are big as older resorts generally are and in good shape,if you have a problem the maintenance staff will respond quickly. The food is good although during our last visit in Jan 2020 the staff at the a la carte restaurants were under training which resulted in  [... read more]some confusion and should be rectified with time. The staff in the buffet are excellent and work hard to provide the service you expect. The main reason we return to this resort is the staff which work hard to ensure you enjoy your vacation. The personnel at the main desk are great as are the bar staff and generally all the people working there are most friendly even though some guests are a little grumpy. We will continue to return.

Iberostar Selection Holguin: Family loved it!

Just came back this week from the resort. Had a wonderful experience. Two adults With a 3 and 6 year old. Not a single complaint from the kids or adults :) both beaches beautiful, we got creative with the food and everyone always had something to eat at the buffets. Desserts were delicious and a big hit with people. At the busiest of times we never stood in line for the eggs and stir fry and pasta more than 2 min. Pool was incredible, night entertainment great! Kids LOVED the mini disco, as well [... read more] as daytime kids club. Kids club staff were AMAZING and we left the kids there twice because kids asked us to! Kids above 4 are included, but had to pay for our younger kid which was totally worth it to get some adult time for us. Splash park was a hit, even the parents were in there playing with their kids. The resort is walkable, even to the far ‘big’ beach was 10 min or so. There are frequent carts Driving people around and we took those for fun cause my younger kid thought it was fun. Or a single bug bite all trip including mosquitos :) we never put on bug spray. Not sure there is anything I’d change about the experience, for what we paid we had a fabulous and truly memorable time. Thank you Iberostar!!!

Iberostar Selection Holguin: The best so far very satisfied going back

This hotel had everything I needed.From the amazing staff.The cleanest resort or hotell ive ever been at they clean 24 7.Rooms were spotless.24 hr security.Great children's area pool and splash pad.Great sports area and gym;The electric carts that whisk you to all parts of the resort where perfect for my 86 year old mum.The food at resteraunts was excellent.food at buffet was good.They had us at an upper floor when we first arrived mum couldn't do the stairs. Iberostar Selection Ensenachos: The Good and the Bad

Beautiful Resort - we stayed at the Coral Level - we enjoyed our private hot tub and the spacious villa. There are not many travellers in this section of the resort - very quiet at the pool, beach, and meals....which I personally like. The biggest complaint was many of the items on the menu were not available. No shrimp, calamari, and most days no lobster. If the menu items were available I would provide a higher rating - perhaps this is just a temporary problem?

Hotel Mojito: Staff make this Resort the very Best to Visit!

This resort is an awesome place for vacation, the rooms are in need of a bit of updating but are very clean, the food is awesome, lots of choices and the dessert bar is fabulous (love the Cuban Ice-cream) The beach is a wee bit of a distance to walk to over a bridge, however when you arrive it is so amazing, lots of space on the beach and you can walk for ever! Iberostar Origin Daiquiri: Amazing Resort

I have to say the staff at this Iberostar Daiquiri was very out going plus they went out there way to make sure everything was okay Room service was very good and room was all the time clean and as the same would go out there way too. The same go's for the food and staff. All I have to say is my stay at Iberostar Daiquiri was very good and looking forward to go back down there on Saturday Nov 28/2020 and see all the staff again.

Iberostar Origin Daiquiri: Super friendly staff !

I went with my mom for a batteries charging week ! We had a great time ! It was Super relaxing, the staff was crazy friendly ,the entire resort was very clean but unfortunately NO HOT WATER in our room all week!

Iberostar Waves Punta Cana: Good Resort - Don;t go for the food.

Everything about this resort was great except for the food. The grounds, pool, beach and staff were excellent. The rooms were good and clean but somewhat tired looking. The food was cold, over cooked or undercooked, over salted and generally not nearly as good as other resorts even Cuban resorts.

The hotel was excellent and the service amazing the food was good and the room was clean the beach was nice I would recommend this resort to every body and i already told my friend about it and wouldn't think twice on going back .

Iberostar Waves Cozumel: Beautiful resort

Family Vacation January 20, 2020 . It was the most beautiful resort @ Iberstar The staff where friendly , The rooms where amazing very clean and fresh, if we needed anything there was always a staff on site. The flamingos and Peacocks where so entertaining, The Buffets where huge and so many choices to choose from the presentation was fabulous desserts where amazing. Cooks did a fantastic job! The pools were very clean and all threw the property. Every night there was a show for all ages.  [... read more] Went scuba diving and snorkeling ocean was clean and you differently see all kinds of fish. I would take my family back again we all had a fantastic vacation. I would recommend this beautiful resort

Iberostar Coral Holguin: Wonderful week in Cuba

We stayed at the Iberostar Holguin, Coral Level. It was the best decision we could have made if you want an adults only experience. The staff were warm, friendly and very accommodating. The resort is stunning, rooms beyond comfortable, and the outside shower was to die for. The food was great except for 2 meals, if you can't find something to eat at one of the 5 restaurants or the buffet, you have a problem. Pools beautiful and entertainment entertaining

Iberostar Origin Laguna Azul: Good

Amazing workers, very helpful and great entertainment. Hotel needs updating and renovations on rooms and grounds. Beach is definitely the strong point, very clean and beautiful. Food is hit or miss. Japanese is the best a la carte, we went twice. Italian we couldn’t eat at all, do not suggest booking it. The best at the buffet is the grilling stations. We had an amazing meal in Varadero at Mojito restaurant, definitely recommend.

Iberostar Origin Playa Alameda: Clean but needs better service

It has beautiful clean grounds but lack of service. It says it offers king beds and coffee makers but they don’t. 90% of rooms is two double beds that are not comfortable at all but are clean. Maids due a great job. Buffet is very good and the only place you get great service. Bars are always a wait and there is no waitresses except if you sit in main entrance and even then it’s a good half hour wait for anything. I would give it a three star at best.

Iberostar Origin Bella Vista Varadero: Spend your money elsewhere

I was very disappointed in this resort, the room had large amounts of black mould in it, water damage on the ceiling and walls, bed sheets were not changed the whole time we were there, no toilet paper left in our room one day, I had to beg another housekeeper for a roll and only got it after I showed her what little we had left in our room. We tipped every day, so it is not because we did not tip. Several of the elevators do not work around the resort, I read about this prior to going and it s [... read more]eems to be an on-going issue. Some of the public washrooms around the resort do not have toilet paper, hand soap or paper towels past noon and many of the times the washroom doors are locked from the inside with no one in them. The hallways have several holes in them where the tiles have broken, but it has caused holes 2 inches deep, some greater than 4 inches wide. An accident waiting to happen. The food on the buffet was good and I was never hungry, but after 10 days, I was tired of eating what little selection they had. The a la cartes are usually better than the buffet. Not so much with this resort. Their Steakhouse does not have steak on it's menu, or even beef at all. How can it be called a steakhouse? The food in it was okay. While we were at the Teppanyaki restaurant I had a cockroach run across the bar in front of me while the chef was preparing our food. I trapped him under a cup so everyone else did not know. I understand it's a tropical location, but still not nice to see. The drinks were great and we never had to wait very long to get a drink, no matter where we went. The staff were amazing and very friendly at the bars and restaurants. The few shows we did see were very good. The singers they have on staff are amazingly talented. When we were there, they decided to rip up the stage and perform the shows in the main lobby. It was hard to get a seat when the show was done inside (rain, windy) and when it was done on the patio, seats were also just as limited because they just don't have the seats available for a show. You could not sit in the lobby and enjoy a drink during the showtimes because you couldn't hear yourself think with the show going on, and there was no where else to drink other thank the snack bar at that time, but they did not have the same selection. Not a huge deal, but, it ended our evening early a few nights because we could not find seats for the show, did not want to stand, and could not hear each other talk at the lobby bar because the show was happening right there. I will never return to this resort, or Varadero, this is my second time in Varadero and I have not enjoyed either trip. I have been other places in Cuba and will stick with them. I will not recommend this resort to anyone, ever.

Iberostar Origin Daiquiri: A Great Resort !

Just back from an amazing week at the Daiquiri. We had read many negative reviews prior to leaving. Well we just don't understand what the negativity is all about. The staff are awesome, especially the pool entertainment team and the bartenders. The buffet/kitchen staff are so friendly and nice. Beautiful lobby and grounds. The beach is beautiful. Lots of umbrellas for shelter from the sun on both the beach and at the pool. The food is really good. Lots of variety, well prepared and much of it ' [... read more]to order'. Rooms were good - comfy bed king size bed, mini bar, excellent maid service and a very modern bathroom. Only problem we had was very low hot water pressure in the shower for a few days. It did eventually get fixed. A great week at a great resort. I highly recommend the Iberostar Daiquiri in beautiful Cayo Coco and hope you have as great an experience as we did.

Iberostar Origin Daiquiri: Loved our holiday!

From the moment we arrived, we were treated like royalty. The resort is clean and well maintained with a staff who work very hard to please. The food was very good. Selection was vast and always plentiful. The waitstaff are wonderful, so personable and courteous. Our room had a great view with clean towels and restocked water and occasional beverages every day. Iberostar Origin Laguna Azul: Couldn’t wait to leave!

I’ve never been on vacation before and wanted to leave early. I felt very disappointed in this resort and its management. This is no where near a 4.5 star, not even for Cuba. If you haven’t already booked your trip and you value a comfortable stay with edible food then I’m going to suggest booking elsewhere. If you already booked the resort then see my survival tips below... My survival tips: bring lots of snacks, snacks also available in the gift shop, drink alcohol for calories,  [... read more]you might want packets of Heinz ketchup & maple syrup for pancakes and bring a zip tie in case your shower head won’t attach. The good: -The ice cream lady is the best part of this resort -The fries change daily but they were our go to breakfast food because the buffet is horrible -The Japanese a la carte was the best. Make sure you book your a la cartes or you’re going to starve -The lobster medallion appetizer in Casa Lasa was one of the best appetizers I’ve had in any restaurant. -Find Elizabeth, a server in the buffet in the small separate dining area. She comes on out of no where but she’s very attentive and a hard worker. -The frozen girly drinks are excellent. Order a few at a time because service can be slow. -The beach is one of the best in the world, except the resort had no part in this. Thank Mother Nature. The hotel sort of impacted my ability to enjoy it due to its miss management and lack of maintenance. -The pool area is great we were here most of the trip -The A/C worked well in the room The bad: -Italian a la carte missing two main courses. Menu is hard to understand. Same level of pasta is available in the buffet. Avoid the beef appetizer... unless you like thinly sliced raw beef on a plate. -The bar service and waitstaff can be a little slow or ignore you completely despite tipping them -Musty smell in room -I love my coffee and the coffee was hit or miss. Suggestion: small coffee maker in the room. I would have loved a small coffee maker in the room so I could sit and enjoy a cup of coffee on the balcony. I didn’t drink hardly any coffee on this trip because it was cold or there were coffee grounds inside my cup. -Water shut off Mon, Jan 20 around dinner time for repairs. So much for showering before dinner. -Cold shower the following morning -Having no towels on the day of departure for the pool or to shower with. Maybe a few towels in the spa area available. I brought one towel from home because that’s all I could fit in my suitcase. This was where the air canada rep advised us to shower as our plane left at 10pm. The ugly: -Rm 14311: No room safe as advertised. As per hotel policy they are not responsible if items go missing and weren’t locked in a safe. Except our room didn’t have one. Air canada rep tried to get me another room, however room we were offered was subpar to the one we were in, except it had a safe. We opted to stay in the room and carry valuables with us. Except it made it hard to enjoy the beach because I had to watch my bag. -The buffet food is cold and mostly inedible. Interesting after tastes, textures and temperatures. It was definitely a deal breaker for us on never returning. -Avoid the outdoor buffet. I had a fly in my food and other guests told me they witnessed birds eating the rice in the tray and staff shooing them away. There is bird droppings all over the sitting area. Suggestion: cover the food with a clear lid people can lift off. Clean up the bird poop more regularly. -The hand railings in building 14 on the right side from the 2nd to 3rd level are extremely loose and unsafe. They need a few bolts added and tightened. End caps are missing. -Bread used for burgers. Then one day we went full keto because they were out of bread and buns. -The elevators don’t seem to work so if you have someone with a disability that needs an elevator or in my case have to drag heavy luggage up a few levels of stairs. -During our stay we received several insect bites. We never noticed any mosquitos and only spent an hour or two at the beach. So really hoping they aren’t bed bug bites. -If other guests are rowdy and inappropriate... don’t expect them to do anything about it This resort has so much potential due to it’s location and lay out. So I really hope management is paying attention, taking notes and taking action on making improvements.

Iberostar Waves Rose Hall Beach: Above Expectations

Everthing about this resort is first class. The staff are so accommodating and friendly. Beautiful spacious room (Ocean Front junior suite) . Nice flight with Air Canada on spacious plane. The food was fantastic. Do your own research on any excursions you might wish to take. Air Canada's agent's recommendations and follow through were very inadequate.
