Bahia Principe Explore El Portillo: Not a 5 stars resort!

Too many people in resort. No places on the beach or around the pool. Waiting in line to go in the main buffet (not enough space). You pay for premium drinks (so it is not all included). Food is average more oriented to the Canadian taste: bacon, burgers, fries, pizza, pasta, omelettes.

Breathless Punta Cana Resort: Beautiful site and courteous staff

The place is really well kept, staff speaks very good English. Food was excellent including the coffee. Very clean rooms, but it is somewhat of a party place. One needs to escape to the beach to have some quiet time outside between 9Am to 6 pm. The entertainment was really loud in the evening and very modest in the quality of the performance. Viva Miches by Wyndham: Nice resort but has some issues.

The hotel itself is nicely laid out. restaurants/buffets close to entertainment and main bar and lobby. Couple of things. -No railings for the pools (even splash pools by rooms). There is a ramp for one of the pools by the beach. The first step is a big drop. I was only in my splash pool once because it was unsafe to get in and very hard to get out without railings. Very happy with our housekeeper. Did a thorough job and made sure we had coke zero in the mini fridge. Jaeson at the breakfast/lunch buffet friendly as well. -ala cartes- only got to try one after being on the wait list. -Buffet food-where do i start? when it opens, the food is cold or barely luke warm. same foods everyday. out of 7 dishes for the theme night, 3 were rice. pasta, not cooked. Hard and chewy. The sauce was good but the ready made for kids was so sweet. Not sure why. I was hungry a lot of nights. -Food safety. I may be wrong, but when you have cooked meat, sitting outside where its hot, with nothing to keep it warm or cold, I dont think that is safe. Every day at the pool restaurant, the chicken, fries and vegetables that were cooked, sat over top of the heating pots (butane?) but they were not on. The bottom of the pan was cold. Beach, cloudy but nice. Clean beach. Enjoyed floating in the water. We enjoyed our visit. Would we go back? Probably not. Its 1.5 hours (driving really fast) to get there and the food issues.

Bahia Principe Explore Punta Cana: Beautiful Resort

The food was Plentiful and tasty. Rooms were pretty clean. Had no wifi in my room. Depending where you were sitting by the pool, wifi was a hit and miss. Although there are signs not to reserve your seats by the pool or at the beach, people continued to set their towels down and go back to bed or to breakfast. Because the resort is so big, i found that staff were not very social. I feel that Punta Cana (Bahia Principe) has become very commercialized. It's lacking the carribean feeling.

Casa Marina Sosua Trademark by Wyndham All Inclusive: Our home away from home

We've been here 13 times and love it. The grounds are beautiful and well maintained. The food is great as are the staff. There are different room options to suit ones budget. We take the standard room (unrenovated) and it's clean and everthing works, just outdated but we're not in our room much. Can't wait to go back again in November. My only negative is that there are not enough parasols at the big pool. They brought 2 more in, so now there's 3 which is just not enough. Bahia Principe Escape Ambar: great resort

overall the resort was great. The only downside was that you paid for premium and were told that you could go to all others hotel bars and restaurants but then they wanted you to pay extra for the things that should have been included. That makes no sense. If a drink is included at your hotel it should be included at all the hotels. People were very nice and helpful, the rooms were clean and the entertainment was good. The restaurants were all booked and not easy to get reservations

Iberostar Waves Costa Dorada: Would visit again!!!

Although the resort is a bit dated, the facilities were clean. The entertainment crew kept us busy throughout. Shout out to Pina Colada,Ninja and Rambo for all the crazy games. The beach and pool area were amazing. There was never a lack of food or drinks. I will book this resort again.

Playabachata Hotel: Nice resort

I thought the hotel was okay everything was within a close walking distance the food was good and delicious but i was very disapointed of how unfriendly the entertainment team were with the tourist.The mics for the show at night were too loud. Unfortunately because of the unfriendliness of the Entertainment team i wont be going back to this resort.

Emotions by Hodelpa Puerto Plata: Good small resort

We had a great vacation at Emotion by hodelpa in Puerto Plata. It is a small relaxing resort and the staff is great. We did have problems with our fridge (didn’t work) in our room and leaking sink which was never resolved even if we brought it up to reception. A repair man came over but even though he said he would be back, he never did. We really appreciated the live band and a la carte restaurants and espacially the mexican. We went twice.

Ocean El Faro: April vacation

The hotel was lovely. The staff was friendly and always willing to help if needed. The entertainment was great, never a dull moment. I would go back in a heartbeat. Thank you for a wonderful vacation!

Melia Punta Cana Beach Wellness Resort Adults: Best resort we have been too!

First of all I'd like to say this was the nicest resort we have ever been too. Our trip was not the best as on the third day my mother had a stroke in the pool, but that being said we enjoyed what we could. The staff was more than amazing with the situation at hand. Taking care of us, as well as my father, driving him to and from the hospital daily so he could visit during visiting hours. Every day making sure we had everything we needed, and always asking about her condition. Our concie [... read more]rge was amazing, again always there for us and making sure to show he cared about our situation. As well as all the staff that knew us, and what was going on. Aside from the situation, this resort was absolutely amazing. Rooms were very nice, food, including the buffet were the best at any resort we have been too. Entertainment was great at night with the shows being some of the best we've seen on a resort. The grounds were always clean, and workers constantly fixing or updating things. Overall, even with the medical issues of my mother, this was one of the best trips we've had due to the resort and staff. We will definitely be coming back as it quickly became our new favorite place. Thank you to everyone there for all the care they put in.

Viva Tangerine by Wyndham: Food was good

Grounds were ok..rooms a bit sketchy need lots of improvements. Paint on baseboard..ac too loud. Terrible scent coming in through ac and gym had the most horrible scent as well as the spa. All wait staff were nice. Booked appointment with spa and they tried to say our appointment wasn't for that day was for the next day! We had another appointment booked for later in the week and when we got there they said the staff was sick very disappointed. Ocean El Faro: Amazing resort

We were there April 1st to the 8th/25. We had no complaints. Hotel was beautiful, good drinks, good food, good entertainment. I would definitely would return. The weather was perfect. Staff and people were great

Dreams Onyx Resort and Spa: Wonderful resort that is very kid- friendly

The staff were all friendly and helpful and every a la carte restaurant that we tried was beyond expectations. All food was great. The pools and lazy river was great and all the drinks we had were excellent. Highly recommend this lovely resort

Melia Punta Cana Beach Wellness Resort Adults: fantastic vacation

fantastic / We both had walking long distance problems so Wendy had the perfect unit within close proximity to everything. The people at the resort were very friendly and the food was excellent' She had also arranged for wheelchair assistance at the airport for my husband which ended up to be a blessing The unit was also Physically accessible with the walk in shower The resort was awesome and I would go again. Wendy is the best travel agent we have ever had. koodoos to her big time

Playabachata Hotel: Great resort! Budget friendly, but superb standards.

I am extremely pleased with the location, service, cleanliness and overall reception by the Playa Bachata resort. Food was awesome, staff were extremely helpful and even though the resort has some dated areas, it was a very pleasant experience!

Cofresi Palm Beach and Spa Resort: It was okay

Well organized pick up and transfer to the resort from airport. Fast check in too. The junior suite room was exactly as we saw online. With one surprise, a view of the pool and beach! We were close to the pool, bar, snack area and beach(3 mins). Room was always done and mini fridge full with water, beer and pop. AC worked amazing especially since it was soooo hot. Just what we needed. One thing we didn't like and annoyed us to no end was the constant staff asking if we wanted massages. It wa [... read more]s non stop everyday right until we were about to leave to go back home. If we are interested we will find you. Stop the nagging! Also, when getting a junior suite you may get a deal that includes some VIP privileges. We had that. We came out of the pool on day one, went out to our balcony and there was a staff member(man) saying "you are late come come. You get VIP tour." Sweet! We figured we could see where everything was, like the bars and restaurants. Boy were we fooled. Totally not that at all. We were taken to a big white building that says "lifestyles vacation club". We were told to sit on these fancy couches and then someone came for us. We were told to come with him he was our tour guide. Ok. Off we went. 4 hrs later ..no lie, and 2 pissed off people(myself and my husband) the "tour" was done. They didn't show us the different pools, or stores, or restaurants or bars! No. They showed us all the options out there to become "vacation club" members. Not a "time share"(which is exactly what it is) after I finally stepped up and said "I'm getting angry. We are NOT doing it so stop trying" we were finally set free ...and no they didn't take us back to our resort which was a far walk in the heat. We caught a shuttle instead. Which is a great addition at the resort I might add. The shuttle runs every 15-25 mins. Tell them where you want to go and they take you! And seeing how it's a Stay at 1 Play at 3 Resort, it comes in handy and really appreciated! The food was ok. Nothing fancy but we didn't starve and we ate healthy. Only issue is there isnt a restaurant open 24/7. So if you miss breakfast you wait again until it opens for lunch, same again with supper. But the staff there were great! They even befriend you and remember your faces. Not alot of entertainment. We pretty much just hung with friends and drank and made our own fun. No bars open down by Cofresi resort (where we stayed) past 7pm. So we had to make our way up to others. When I say up, I mean all up hill...with many many sets of concrete unlevel steps. Not fun in the heat or when you are hungry or tipsy. But again thank god for the shuttle. They aren't shy on the booze either. I actually had to ask for less alcohol in my drinks because they were so strong. But hey won't complain on that end! Great offering. If you book a trip and get a later time to leave resort, make a plan. We had to check out of our room 1130am. Didn't leave til 720pm for airport. To stay in the room and extra 1 1/2 hrs it was $20.00 usd. After that it was $10.00hr usd per person up until 5pm! Ya no thanks. There is a locked room where they store your luggage and can have access to. That is when the Bellhop is there.. Don't fall for the "you can use hospitality room" crap either. Said you can go in to shower before you leave. What a joke ! We sat there infront of the desk for 2.5 hours waiting for our turn. We kept being told "check back in 30 mins" or "yes you are next what is your name". Joke. We asked 3 times and got "oh sorry someone is in there" then when we said " we have been here you said you could see us and will tell us when free and now it's not" we were pissed. We didn't get to shower after spending our last day there...so imagine what a comfy flight we had. They also don't include soap or shampoo in the hospitality room and 2 towels and apparently it was disgusting with a broken shower head. Guess we dodged a bullet. Don't lose your bracelets. $200.00usd to replace. Don't lose your blue towels. $40.00 usd each for a new one. Also don't leave in your room at check out. Bring them to the front desk! Bring cash Don't use card They seem to convert from Pesos to Usd then Canadian. We thought it was only USD to Canadian exchange when using CC. Nope. When we saw our online statement we near died!! Book your excursions on resort only. Not with anyone on the beach. Recommend the ATV 3 hour tour and party boat(booked at water sports store on the boardwalk at Cofresi) what a time! We had Mexican A la Carte. It was ok. Atmosphere was nice and relaxing. Then we had Italian. It was very good. Atmosphere was not so good. So loud, lots of yelling. Couldn't have a conversation across the table. Didn't stay for dessert because of headache from the noise. Overall, we had a great time and made the best of it. Met up with our friends who also came and met some new ones! Just keep an eye and pay attention to the negatives mentioned above. Hesitant on going again though because 5/6 of us got super sick the first few days home. We weren't on the same flights so had to be the resort.

Occidental Punta Cana: Occidental punta cana

The property is well maintained and the pools are well taken care of and very clean. You can tell that the rooms are becoming a bit aged and supplies like water and towels are not always kept filled but quickly handled once customer service contacted. The room we were in only had a plug-in at the coffee nook so at least we could alternate to plug in phones but it was too far away for me to use my cpap machine so went without it.

Bahia Principe Escape Aquamarine: Amazing resort

Great resort, great service, clean rooms, amazing food. Juan is a very good server at the pool. Good quality drinks. Entertainment is very good and interesting. We where there 3rd time, and plan to come again and again. Recommend this place to everyone!
