Bahia Principe Grand Bavaro: wonderful vacation

This was our second time to this resort. It is very large so make sure you do your homework before you book as you may be disappointed as to where you end up The Gran Bahia is broken up into 5 -6 sections. .Also make sure you speak to someone that has been there, so that you are getting the right info. The food is good and the people are very nice.We plan on going back next year

Be Live Experience Hamaca Suites: Good Resort

Grounds were amazing. Well kept. Food was very enjoyable. Great NYE food gala. Amazing entertainment most nights. Not the best Casino! Not the best towel service for a big chain hotel. Staff was somewhat uninformed.

Riu Merengue: Want a great HOLIDAY! We love this resort!

The Merengue offers so much more than luxurious, luscious grounds, 2 swimming pools, and a great layout for those with mobility issues. The staff is exceptional, the food is plentiful and variety quite good. We stayed at the Merengue Gardens, but were able to enjoy the facilities of all 3 resorts, offering many eating and bar stations. The beach and entry into the water is a bit rocky! Bahia Principe Escape Ambar: Great!

The resort is huge and the grounds are beautiful and lush! The food was great with variety of choices. Desserts could improve slightly. The people / staff were friendly/happy and helpful. The beach was beautiful but ocean was pretty wavy with some seaweed for ocean lovers who prefer calm waters this might not be ideal. Entertainment was fun and all lobby's were so beautiful and clean. Also don't forget to pack your Immodium.

Grand Sirenis Tropical Suites: great holiday

had a great time,along with our son and daughter and spouses,and 3 grand daughters. We found the food very good,never had a bad meal,and lots of choices. the grounds are very clean, and well kept. The staff: from check-in desk, restaurant, and right through to cleaning were all very accommodating,and friendly.I give staff 9 of 10 We all had 1 bedroom suites,in bldgs. P and R, which were clean but dated. I expected better, but we didn't spend a lot of time in the room anyway. Pools were great and lots of them, our grand kids( 6,8,10) were not bored at all. Show's at night were not bad,all musical. But I rather shows were they get the audience involved. It's more of a laugh. I give the entertainment a 5 of 10. Also the water park was great. We spent 3 different day's there,and had a riot. But one word of advice,go Sun. to Thurs.,because they open it to the public on week-ends, and bus loads come in. The water park is a 5 min.walk from the resort, on the same property. I give the water park a 9 of 10. When in Rome , live like the Romans, and enjoy your holiday.

Paradise Playa Dorada: Good time

Good food and friendly staff A nice relaxing vacation Rooms kept clean. Nightly entertainmmet ok and activities for the kids. Pools are clean but kinda cold. Beaches are nice but wouldnt go out late at night.

Bahia Principe Escape Ambar: Awesome Week

Beautiful, Clean, Amazing staff throughout, Don Pablo is best restaurant, Ambar staff excellent, building 64 in Ambar super close to pool and beach, circus show was the best, not sure why all the seaweed complaints - we saw very little

Grand Sirenis Punta Cana Resort: Needs to renovate the big picture

The infrastructure in general is nice...Landscaping, building appearance on the exterior, street appeal, layout etc. The rest needs improvment. The food is terrible, service barely adequate, rooms needs major work, mold in bathrooms where the floor meets the wall, the bottom of the bathroom door is rotten from water , terrible lumpy beds, terrible small lumpy pillows , terrible hard dry towels and limited quantity, furniture in lobby has the seating foam crushed on the furniture from wear and te [... read more]ar, a la carts restaurant food is terrible, got sick from the mussels, Even the food on the beach hut was not good. Uncooked chicken left in the sun for hours before it was grilled. Pizza thin and floury, The nature of their business is to look after guests and feed them and make the guest feel special. Not the case here. Never again. Westjet dropped the ball as well with the flight and the service. Smells like fuel on the beach from the tractors clearing the weeds. If this is a 4 to 5 star resort they need to read the manual on standards. Note; The person that replies to these emails on trip advisor always says the same thing, "Let us know when your back we will make sure your happy." Well these issues should of been dealt with before, People have been complaing about these things long before us.

Bahia Principe Grand San Juan: Nice stay

Stayed in jan 2015,good vacation.a bit far from airport.very pretty area.staff all friendly and helpful.we stayed in a suite close to beach.room good,quiet,ac worked well.minor complaints for low water pressure in room and slippery floors throughout resort after rain.food was ok but not great.would stay here again.

Melia Caribe Beach Resort: Lovely resort, definitely on the pricier side

We recently spent a week at the Melia Caribe Punta Cana. We were in "the Level" which is the exclusive "adults only" area. Great room, great service, etc. but a little disappointed that we paid about $1725 per person and someone else we met paid $1500 through a travel agent for the same room and service level, flying on the same airline, from the same location.

Dreams Royal Beach Punta Cana: Great trip to Now Larimar

The Now Larimar was a great experience. The grounds are immaculate, staff friendly and helpful, fun entertainment (elaborate Golden Globes party, NFL on big screens, movies, etc.), the pools are lovely, beach fantastic and the food was really good (no reservations required!). We had 3 in a room and it was fine, but there is no separate washroom. The toilet and showers are in cubes with frosted glass doors that don't close fully. There is a vacation club (similar to a timeshare), but the staff aren't as pushy as we expected based on other reviews. Overall, a great trip.

Vista Sol Punta Cana: Everything Wonderful Except Buffet & No Coffee

Everything about this resort was good and so it's a real shame that the buffet food and coffee is truly the worst I've had at any resort in the past. Coffee as we North Americans know it, is not available AT ALL. Coffee was available only from a machine dispenser and was terrible. Some mealtimes, the machines were shut off and no coffee was available. Poor variety of fruit and often bitter, not ripe or rotten and yet still put out for consumption. Beef here is not what we are used to so the chef needs to be more creative in serving it to guests. I understand the business sense of recycling food for a subsequent meal but we saw the same dishes day in and day out and soon the lavish buffet became predictable and somewhat questionable. Juice dispenser is nothing more than powdered flavour crystals. On days fresh fruit juice was available, each one was so watered down they had no flavour. I told the staff but they couldn't have cared less. The Mexican Restaurant had wonderful food as did the Gourmet Restaurant but the Buffet remained mostly inedible. Sometimes we simply skipped meals or ate mostly bread. All of us in the group developed diarrhea requiring a visit to the medical centre. This resort has a huge Russian and European guest base and perhaps the resort caters more to their taste but for we Canadians, the buffet food was simply substandard and I would NOT visit this resort again nor would I recommend it to anyone.

Iberostar Waves Costa Dorada: Beautiful resort

The resort is beautiful. We loved how green and lush the grounds and the beach area was. Overall the resort was very clean. Our room was excellent, clean. Maid's took very good care of us. (shower head needing repair) The public areas were all clean. Restaurants were awesome. People are polite, friendly and helpful. * one change I would love to see is that there is no smoking outside of the restaurants. Melia Caribe Beach Resort: Not what we expected

Although the grounds, beaches and rooms were beautiful we felt like this resort "nickel and dimed" you. You could never get a decent time at the ala carte without paying an extra $5.00 per person. You could not sit in certain sections of the beach or go to certain beach bars unless you were part of the Level club. When booking golf (which is why we went to this resort) we were told by travel agent that it was $34.00 per person for the cart but in reality they wanted $75.00 per person per cart. W [... read more]e ordered a bottle of wine for dinner one evening as again we were told that we would get 20% off, but when checking out they charged us $2.00 more than the original price. I know this doesn't sound like a lot but we did pay just over $2500. for the two of us to go here and were expecting it to be a true all inclusive.

Wyndham Alltra Punta Cana: Great resort!! Been there four times!!

Dreams Punta Cana has beautiful grounds, great food, friendly staff. Great beach front. Oceana restaurant has a million dollar view. Rooms are dated but clean and neat. Entertainment is ok. Core zone has lots for teens to do.

VH Gran Ventana Beach Resort: We will return!

We have enjoyed our third stay at this resort and we plan to return again. This resort is great if you enjoy good healthy food, but there is also the fast food option. Bars close at midnight so it is great if you want to rest. The pool and the beach are great. Everything is very clean. Great family fun!

Occidental Punta Cana: Great grounds. Not so great rooms

The resort itself is beautiful. The rooms however are outdated and gross. Leaking showers , bugs are just to start. The food is a solid 2.5/5. Considering 9/11 of us got sick. Great beaches. Great weather. Great staff.

Beautiful resort. Staff are really enthusiastic and accommodating. Caribe Deluxe Princess: Good times, but could have been better

I didn't like the food, I found it too mushy/soft and everything was warm making it unpalatable. It also affected me badly starting the 3rd day and gave me the runs to which almost a week back my system is still not back to normal. The room was nice and clean, the cleaning staff were nice, but I found the rest of the staff very cold and standoffish with not attempt to communicate with me when they didn't understand what I was trying to say. On the return flight I was placed in a row with no window, I got someone has to sit there but I paid a $30 fee to book my seats on line and was not told that is was a windowless seat, a seat that I wouldn't have taken if I known. All in all no trip is perfect, but it was the little things that could have been better. The beach was very nice, the weather hot and dry, it served it's purpose.
