Grand Memories Santa Maria: Ok resort

We stayed at the grand memories for 2 weeks, the weather was amazing!! I’ve been to cuba over 40 times and this resort was not what I expected at all. They let the other two resorts come to this buffet which made it total chaos, we pretty much waited till it was closed and went in and got some scraps! We never complained because we just couldn’t be bothered. The room was ok, pretty musty but I had fabreeze. Some staff was ok but not near as friendly as other resorts I’ve been to in cuba. [... read more] The snack bar is impossible to get pizza if it’s busy because it’s 1 guy working his ass off so we didn’t bother with that either. I felt bad for people with kids because there really were no snacks that were convenient for them......I love Cuba and will be back but not to this resort unless it’s a super deal.

Melia Cayo Santa Maria: A great resort

A smaller resort compared to others on this ‘key’, Melia Cayo Santa Maria is nevertheless a beautifully restored gem. The foyer is open and airy, and there is nightly entertainment which includes acrobats, guitar and violin music, and of course Cuban music and dance. Besides a dining room offering good food with many choices especially for fish lovers, there is a 24/7 grill bar beside the pool with thin crust pizzas and another near the beach serving fresh fish. Exploring the grounds, you will also find a spa, fitness building, tennis court, and market area with a unique ship-shaped bar. One can easily walk into the other Melia (on Dunes) which shares some of the facilities. Of course, the beach is simply beautiful and one can walk for miles. Service is very good and surprisingly prompt. The room was very comfortable, clean and had TV and A/C. I would happily recommend this resort to family and friends.

Playa Luxury Cayo Las Brujas: Nice resort!

Newer resort in Santa Maria it is 1hr and 40 min from airport. Nice rooms with partial view of ocean. Beautiful grounds with 2 pools. 1 is an infinity pool and you can hear the ocean waves while at the pool. Beach is beautiful white sand and turquoise water. They are cabanas they will set up your lounge chair for you and you have shade under cabana or you can pull chair forward into sun. Breakfast best meal of day with made to order omelettes. Playa Luxury Cayo Las Brujas: Loved the entire experience!

Angsana Resort, Cayo Santa Maria, we had a great time! The room was awesome, I loved opening the patio door to a screen door which when opened kept the bugs out but we got to hear the waves. I saw a shooting star one night sitting on the balcony. We sat out every night. The resort and staff were amazing. Loved the beach, the pools, the drinks offered, staff very attentive to our needs and teaching us Spanish. We met so many guests, mostly from Europe and Canada. At 11 am on Remembrance Day, we stood at the pool for a moment of silence. Even the bus ride from Santa Clara airport an hour and forty minutes away was very interesting. I am going back, loved it!

Great hotel, great beach, and a beautiful room. We highly recommend this resort. We only had one problem, there were no vehicles to rent, We asked several staff members and no one could help us. Gran Muthu Cayo Santa Maria: Nice experience, amazing beach!

The hotel is located approximately 2h drive from the airport. The staff is very friendly and helpful, modest choice of food, the beach and the sea are really amazing! Daily night shows. Cheap, worth its price.

Melia Las Dunas: Perfect solo vacation

I love coming to this area of Cuba. It bothers me when I hear people complaining about the food. They do their best with the resources they have. Honestly, you will never go hungry! Lots of great variety and the people are incredible.

Playa Cayo Santa Maria: Playa Cayo Santa Maria - very nice resort

Nice resort, small and everything is so close to each other. We stayed in block 12 with a partial ocean view. Room quite large. Resort's vegetation and greenery amazing. Staff was very polite. Al la cartes specially Romantico were excellent. We had lobster almost every day. Since we were VIP we went to repeat customer dinner of lobster and steak with seafood platter appetizer, and had 5 al la cartes. Did not like the Italian restaurant. Food tasted like to came out of a can but rest of meals [... read more] were excellent. Buffet was a bit repetitious and bland. Restaurant by beach was a buffet and pretty good. Pool restaurant was your ordinary food. Staff were excellent. Our only main concern was that the restaurants near the beach and pool allowed men to walk in with no shirt on, some women didn't wear a cover up and some people came in barefooted. These are restaurants and although we approached the proper authorities about this they seemed to not really care. I don't want to eat lunch watching some man dripping with sweat on the buffet food or next to me. Gross. We actually stopped going to these places for lunch because of this. The weather was beautiful, rained at night and only one day during our 11 day stay there were rain bursts of about 10 minutes long x 3 which was fine as it cooled us off and then the afternoon was hot and humid. Our room was good but several times was not cleaned up by the time we returned in the afternoon. I would return again as the pools (3) were amazing and beach was not as nice as it was years ago and the water was very wavy but we did enjoy some nice walks along the beach. there were sea shells also which years before were hard to come by.

Hotel Roc Casa del Mar: No mosquitoes!

We had a great time, stayed from Nov 4 to Nov 11. We were lucky we had a good weather, no rain, just the last day was windy, big waves but the water was still very warm. The beach is breathtaking, we enjoy it so much! Food is good, big variety of fish, cheese, meat, bakery. Room is big and everything working, we always had hot water, no problem. Very friendly hardworking people, don't even expect tips, ones I had to run behind to give it! Night shows are OK. Wi-Fi working good, 1 hour free per day. Couple things I would improve: 1. Air Conditioning in the buffet, never working, only on the first day was on; very hard to stay without in this hot weather. 2. On the beach, on the bottom of the roof shade you can badly hit your head by nails, be very careful, I hope it will be fixed soon! 3 The bridge to the beach is about to break down, we just try to avoid it, getting to/out the beach from the side, but one day they have to change it no way! 4. Bus service, panoramic double deck, is unacceptable! No schedule, they always say it's coming every 40-45 min. We were waiting 2 hours! On the way back, after 3 hours of waiting, it's never show up, we had to take taxi. Hotel receptionist told us it's not their business but it makes our stay, they should differently do something with this. 5. Ice cream station was opened only once in 7 days! I would build small beach restaurant special for lunch, they do very tasty shrimps grill, chicken and sea food but no place to sit down! Any way, we enjoyed our stay, and big thank you to everyone who work hard to make our vacation unforgettable!

Valentin Perla Blanca: Not a good experience

Beautiful beach.. food and room wasnt the best.. 1st night arrived. Room was smelly.. switched our room door doesnt lock properly... complained to management.. they only gave us 3 hrs late check out........

Grand Aston Cayo Las Brujas: Friendly Staff and Brand New Resort

Very clean and well maintained grounds. The gardeners work hard to keep everything picture perfect. We came as a group of 23, and the staff connected with almost every single one one of us, even the kids. They set up a table for 23 for all of us to seat together during meals. The food was phenomenal, although repetitive. The best I've had travelling to a lot of places in Cuba. Hood amenities across the board. The snack bar staff Miguel and Henry made our stay wonderful. Grand Aston Cayo Las Brujas: BEAUTIFUL RESORT WITH BEAUTIFUL STAFF

We were very happy during our stay in Grand Aston, Las Brujas Santa Maria. Beautiful resort with friendly staff. The rooms were clean, the pool was infinite and the beach is fabulous! Definitely be back for another so need vacation. Ricardo

Grand Aston Cayo Las Brujas: Beautiful resort

Overall the resort is clean, friendly staffs, pristine beach, and delicious food. My only suggestion is, they should open the disco/club room so people can enjoy dancing. There is no need of DJ, just music . Or maybe add on another Karaoke night.

Iberostar Selection Ensenachos: Awful experience!

This is the third time at this resort and this time we went with our friends. Unfortunately it was a really bad experience: 1. The main buffet was closed for the last 5 months. This would not have been a problem if the quality of food would have been the same( days when they went off of bred, ketchup, tonic water,etc. Flies allover the place-all of us went home with food poisoning ) 2. No entrainment-at least 5,6 people hired for this but nothing happened- the kids show ended up in the lobby i [... read more]nstead of the theatre 3. No lights on the resort-we ended up using our cell phones to be able to see where to walk 4. A la carte:Mediterranean- we got there and they gave is the menu but also told us that half of the stuff on the list was not available ( shrimps, smoked salmon, etc) 5. On the 4th day of our stay it was a huge line-up for the carts...we ended up walking on the other side of the resort, which is not bad, but considering we had the kids with us and no lights in the resort... not a good experience It is too bad i cannot post the picture for you to see how a really bad food poisoning can look like😞 6. Washrooms: only one little bottle of shampoo, etc for the 3 of us for the entire stay. They are really trying to save money from everything. We are really upset with tripcentral also because of the false advertising-5 star resort when it’s not even up to 2 stars... and they were made aware of the changes at the resort-as per the air transat rep in Cuba

Iberostar Selection Ensenachos: Okay vacation

The main buffet was under renovations so we had to be shuttled to another location and trolleys were always late and food wasn’t great. No juice at the resort, only sprite and coke offered to kids at breakfast. Once the main buffet opened on our last day, was much better. Beach was beautiful, pool was fun, resort needs work.

Playa Cayo Santa Maria: Great Holiday!

Very friendly staff, great food selection, the a la cartes were very good. Stunning beach, white sand with beautiful clear blue water. It was a wonderful vacation, will definitely stay 10 days next time!

Playa Luxury Cayo Las Brujas: Great vacation

We visited for one week at the end of October. It was a great vacation, the room was very big, nice layout, new furniture and a stunning ocean view. The beaches are beautiful, we spent most of our time at the small one - a bit rocky, but great snorkeling. Biggest asset is the staff, everybody went above and beyond to make our stay a memorable one.

Playa Cayo Santa Maria: 4th Time at Resort

This was our 4th time at the Hotel Playa CSM. Quality and variety of food and has gone down. Having said that the employees were always trying to please. No lettuce at the salad bar and fruit and vegetables was very limited. When we brought this to the staff's attention there was lettuce at the buffet then next day. They ran out of red and white wine on our last night there and being a wine drinker, I was glad this happened at the end of our trip and not at the beginning.
