Grand Oasis Palm: ok spot for families

I did not overly like any of the buffets. The sushi was great at the suchi bar and at maki taco. I dId not like the reservation system for booking a la carte dinners. Having to wake up early to wait in line for an hour daily to not even be guaranteed a spot was kind of stupid. Didn't like how rooms didn't have balconies. Room service should be included. The hotel didn't have gucemolie ??? isn't that mexican??? Nightly entertainment was great and same with daily pool activities. Kids club was lar [... read more]ge and well thought out. Lots of options for kids to do. Kids buffet looked kind of gross. OVERALL NOT BAD Still enjoyed our holiday lots.

Dreams Sapphire Resort and Spa: Beautiful spot

Recently went here for a wedding. It was lovely spot and my only complaint would be that the beach is covered in seaweed and ruins that tropical white sand getaway. Food was amazing and most of the frozen drinks were very tasty!

Barcelo Maya Beach Resort: Every thing was perfect.

I loved everything about this resort. It was the perfect vacation. The beach was fantastic, the grounds were spotless, and the food superb. The employees were incredibly friendly. The gym was well equipped and spotlessly clean.

Royalton Riviera Cancun Resort and Spa: Amazing resort!

Staff take care of your every need. The food was excellent. Ate most of my meals at the buffet because of choice and quality. The resort well maintained. My only issue was at check in. Should have a separate line for people that have done the initial check in but are just waiting for their room to be ready.

Grand Palladium Kantenah: Gorgeous Resort

Gorgeous resort; perfect food, nice and big room. Very good restaurants and easy to access them all; endless bars; nice but rocky beach- plenty of chairs. Lots of activities, lots of pools!! Would go back in a 'second'. Absolutely perfect vacation.

Motel was good service in restaurants was excellent and the beach excellent the swim up bar smelled like urine and they washed down the patios at night with pool water which made it all smell like urine I would never get into that pool again

Dreams Jade Resort and Spa: It was excellent!

We went to the Now Jade April 11 2016 and it was so nice. The food was great. Service was great and the beach was amazing. I'd definitely go again!! We brought our kids 6 and 8 and there was plenty for them to do.

Bahia Principe Escape Sian Ka'an: Second time at Sian Ka'an-loved it all over again!

Returned in March 2016 for the luxury experience we remembered and were not disappointed. New beach area was nice and the shuttles seemed to run more often. For a quieter experience, ask for a room near the sushi bar/quiet pool area.

Secrets Huatulco: Nice resort

Hotel is fine,food okay,breakfast the best of all meals Oceana the best place for service,layout of hotel not the greatest,not too much thought put into building it..preferred not as nice or upscale as Secrets Puerto Vallarta..never any help in there when you needed it....one of the pools was nice and quiet.. Never any problem getting a place to sit...met lots of nice people from Ontario,Alberta,and BC...

Platinum Yucatan Princess: Good resort!

Overall the resort was great. The staff where amazing and quick. Food was just ok at most of the restaurants. Beach was fine. Definitely need water shoes if you want to go into the water. We had a great time.

Golden Parnassus Resort & Spa: Great value

If you're on a budget and just want an all around comfortable resort , this is the one. Beds were very comfortable. Furniture a little dated and no extra frills unless you upgrade, however I really had no complaints for the price. If I had to express a needed improvement, that would be better lighting in bathroom and a little better selection at breakfast.

The Fives Beach Hotel and Residences Playa Del Carmen: Amazing!

Everybody there was perfect! Food was great! The views and water was amazing! I always had a drink in my hand. Our room was always very clean. I would go back any day. The excursions were also well organized and fun!

Ocean Coral Riviera Cancun: Good resort

Nice resort, not too big. Easy to get around. Good beach and good food. Great service. Japanese restaurant was amazing. We loved the foam party. Liked the fact that it was only a 20 min ride from the airport.

Wyndham Alltra Playa del Carmen: Best vacation ever!

This resort is AMAZING - I will definitely be back! The service, A+. The food, same. The location could not be better - beach in front, 5th in back. I will be recommending it over and over again, and hopefully be back soon!

I would highly recommend and would definitely come back. First impressions. Slightly Older but charming and well maintained and run. Lots of character. Lovely and one of its strengths is that it is not a mega complex easily walkable. I.e if you forget something in your room it's only a few minutes to get back. Not a ten minute walk or shuttle ride away. The overall feeling is more intimate and a very comfortable feeling Amenities: Rooms are well appointed and beds are comfortable with room safe, mini fridge and wifi included. all have ocean view and best views are on higher floors (3 and up), however if you want a larger balcony ask for floor 1 or two. First floor has significantly larger balconies than others. Beach is small and nice but beware, sand gets extremely hot in the afternoon and if you're not wearing shoes/sandals can damage I.e burn/shred, the bottom of your feet. Pool is very nice, but not particularly deep. The sun typically doesn't hit the pool area until shortly after ten If you like mid morning to midday sun, select a chair on ocean side of pool, away from hotel. If you prefer mid afternoon to late sun or shade select a chair on hotel side of pool. You will not have blaring music all day long or stupid games. They do offer, water aquatics to music, yoga and beach volleyball as well as selected cooking courses, salsa dancing and Spanish lessons. BBQ poolside is very good and La Cevicheria is excellent Food ranges from average to very good, with the exception of Cevicheria which is outstanding. Acapulco cocktail and shrimp or fish tacos are a must. Very fresh and flavourful especially with addition of the habanero hot sauce. Breakfasts are good. Food tends to be toned down with respect to spice and heat to North American preferences, however good selection of hot sauces and salsa. A nice selection of fruits and salads, not as large as larger resorts but still quite plentiful. Most of the restaurants are open air with lovely breeze and little to no humidity in a nicely built Palapa structure with a lovely view of the Bay of Banderas. I.e. It doesn't feel like a cafeteria so more enjoyable. A refreshing surprise is that no reservations are required for the three evening restaurants. There might be the odd wait, but grab a drink at the bar and enjoy. You're on holiday after all. Another nice touch is that you can upgrade on the wine selection for a charge and order a nice bottle of wine for dinner Thank goodness, because the house wine is awful. The Italian (Rosato) and Mexican (El Mexicano) restaurants are both very good. Notable dishes are the chicken Parmesan and beef Francesco in the former and tequila shrimp and beef chipotle in the latter. The Asian restaurant (Tiang tang) is average to good. Chicken teriyaki and pad Thai are notable. Deli cafe a great place to grab a cappuccino or espresso and pastry. Not much in the way of evening entertainment however they do have a live band a couple of times a week. You are however a short cab ride away from many clubs etc in downtown Puerto Vallarta. Spa is worthwhile but pricey. Gym is adequate Drinks can be hit and miss, usually a function of how busy the bartenders are. If they have the time they get it right. There is an ATM in the lobby and there is a bank a block away (turn right coming out of hotel). Not a lot of stores, but downtown (Malecon) is a short cab ride away (65 pesos) If you need your Starbucks fix, turn left coming out of hotel and it's about 900 metres down the road. Walmart and shopping mall is another 1km. The majority of people from either US or Canada and some Mexican Recommendations 1. Include a list of specialty drinks poolside and by the bar. 2. Add crepe maker to restaurant. Would be a wonderful addition to breakfast and lunch 3. Update and improve the wine list and offer ½ litre carafes. Ensure bottles are in stock. Terribly frustrating to be constantly told, they do not have or last bottle sold. 4. Improve your house wine as current House wine is terrible

Paradisus Cancun: Perfect Mexican vacation

Beautiful resort right on the most beautiful beach I've ever seen. This was my first trip to a southern destination with my boyfriend and we were nervous about what to expect. The service was impeccable - all of the resort staff were very friendly and helpful. I rolled my ankle on our second day at the resort and within minutes there were two resort members there to make sure I was okay and to look at my ankle. We ate at three of the on site restaurants during our stay and the buffet. The market grill was amazing and our favourite experience but be prepared to leave full! We also went to the market grill for pizzas at lunch - delicious! The blue agave was also a good experience experience - the tacos were so delicious! Mole was the third restaurant we visited and that war the only disappointment we had. The food selection just wasn't our type of menu. Most nights we visited the buffet for supper. There was always a great assortment of food and everything was delicious. Even the pickiest of eaters can find something to eat here! During our stay we spent most of our days on the beach with regular visits to the pool for a swim. The beach was so beautiful - it will leave you speechless. The white sand was never too hot on your feet and the turquoise ocean was great to swim in as long as you don't mind some waves. On top of all this, the view was just stunning. Every morning we went to the beach it was as if I had forgotten how beautiful it was the day before and was just as breathtaken with it the next morning. As soon as you walk out of the resort doors to the beach, you are wowed. It's amazing to see water that blue. There was plenty of space and nice beach huts you could put your chairs under. Each beach hut had a table where you could put your drinks while you lounge in the sun. The beach staff were incredibly attentive and there was plenty of water available for order while you were on the beach. The staff would also bring you blender drinks so you never had to leave your beach chair! The majority of the blender drinks we had were Delicious! The bartenders make a great blue Hawaii, pina colada and Bahama mama. If you prefer, you can also pay money to lay on a beach bed. We didn't do this during our stay. We found the beach chairs comfortable. There were showers at the beach level then foot showers at the top of the stairs which was particularly handy for us because we regularly switched from beach to pool. At the top of the stairs you could also visit the sunset grill if you felt like a light lunch or afternoon snack. The pools were a very well laid out so that it wasn't overly crowded and you could have your own space to swim. The pool was also a great temperature and the chemicals weren't too potent. Taking a dip in the pool after spending hours in the sun was one of our favourite ways to cool off - always so refreshing. There were also bathrooms near the sunset grill which is handy if you plan to spend a lot of time on the beach - not a far walk. There is a second set of bathrooms near the hut at the bottom of the resort entrance facing the beach which is equally close. At this hut you can book activities for your trip and also get fresh beach towels. The big purple towels were think and a perfect size. We stayed in a room on the lagoon side and a couple we went with had a room on the ocean view side. Neither me, nor my boyfriend is an earlier riser so this suited us much better than an ocean view. The sun rises on the ocean and sets on the lagoon side. We got to watch the sunset every night before dinner while our friends who are morning people watched the sun rise every morning. Something to keep in mind when you book. Our room itself was beautiful and very clean. The floors and walls are all marble. The bathroom shower has a rainfall style shower head and everything else in the room was very modern. The bathroom came complete with all the usual toiletries for guests but also with cotton swabs and some other handy items which was nice. We had a king bed which was very comfortable and the air conditioner did a great job of keeping the room at a comfortable sleeping temperature. The cleaning staff kept our room very clean each day, even taking the initiative to organize our items on the sink a little neater which was much appreciated. On our sixth night, our air conditioner stopped working. The resort staff was very helpful and quickly moved us to a new room in the same tower when this occurred. While we weren't able to get another king bed, the double beds were much preferable to our broken air conditioner. Although the resort states you don't need to tip, we tipped the cleaners each day, and each of our servers including drink service on the beach. We didn't tip large amounts. Just a dollar or two each meal depending on the level of service, a dollar or two each morning for the cleaners, and a dollar every few drinks on the beach.We found this made a big difference in our service as observed to people around us who weren't tipping. The staff were more attentive to us. Overall, we had an amazing first destination vacation experience. We loved cancun and parsdisus. We are already thinking about planning a trip there next year!

We were treated like royalty and with opened arms. Food, entertainment and staff were excellent. Cleanliness, welcoming and fun. Lots of things to do such as activities and laughter. We would consider going there again.

Riu Palace Las Americas: Wonderful Resort

The Riu Palace Las Américas was absolutely wonderful. The staff were outstanding, extremely helpful and friendly. The food was fantastic at all the restaurants. We enjoyed our vacation very much and would return in a heartbeat.

Grand Palladium Kantenah: Gorgeous resort, great food and people

The property was beautiful, lush, lots of gardens and fauna, very quiet little villas. The room was the standard room with king bed, but it was spacious, modern, great mattress, very clean, flat screen TV and a mini fridge with water, pop and beer, restocked daily. The property has 4 resorts, Kantenah is at the end and there is no entertainment, it is quiet, which is what we were looking for. Entertainment is at Colonial and Riviera lobbies. There is a beautiful SPA and GYM, the gym was busy in  [... read more]the mornings, too small for how many people came before breakfast, otherwise it was great. There are many pools to choose from, you can get a gondola ride around 2 of the resorts, there are flamingos and crocodile enclosures, lots of gardens, wooden bridges throughout the property, looking very serene. The amount of a la carte restaurants was amazing, we liked all we tried, but we could not possibly try them all. The beach is wide and beautiful, however the Riviera side does not have a beach, has to walk over to Whitesands and Colonial beach. And our only complaint was the ocean, we knew Mayan Riviera has corals, but we hoped they won't be everywhere in the water. You need water shoes, you cannot go in otherwise, There is just a little spot at the end of the Kantenah beach where you can hop over the rocks and walk in the water. But there were sting rays there, which was scary, although they swim away if you get close. Other than the corals, I would give it a 5 out of 5.

Royalton Hideaway Riviera Cancun: Royalton Hideaway Riviera Maya Apr.10-17, 2016

Royalton Hideaway is the adult only portion of the larger Royalton complex. It's convenient that the resort is only 15 minutes from Cancun airport. First the good. In general this is an excellent resort. It is very modern and sophisticated, though it would be nice if it looked a little more "Mexican" - it does not have much local character, and could be a resort anywhere in the world. You sit in comfortable couches & they bring you whatever you want from the bar until they process you. I believe this also allows you to avoid the dreaded timeshare pushers, as we did not get accosted at all. As noted in most reviews, the buffet and restaurants are excellent - easily the best food we have had in any all inclusive. Rooms are modern, well equipped, clean, and everything works - WIFI very good. Service from check-in staff, restaurant staff, cleaning staff, etc. is excellent. Essentially nothing to complain about at all, but here are a few suggestions for improvement: We stayed at the Hideaway with a swim up room. In hindsight, we would not have paid extra for this - the swim up pools are shaded much of the time by the upper balconies, so the water tends to stay quite cool, and you find yourself chasing the sun. The deck next to the swim up pool also is narrow and does not have room for a chaise that we have had in other swim ups such as at the Valentin - only chairs. This tends to defeat part of the reason that we booked the swim up - to avoid the hassle of trying to "reserve" a chaise around the pool or at beach. Which brings up the one real problem of 'those" people "reserving" the few chaises with some shade at 7 am - the resort simply needs more shaded chaises. Another improvement would be to have a hotel shuttle service into Playa or Cancun for excursions - the resort isn't far from either city, but cabs are quite expensive. Even though nobody goes on vacation to Mexico to watch TV, it is nice at night to keep up with what's going on at home. Given the number of Canadians that vacation here, couldn't at least one of the news channels be Canadian - there were American, British, German, Italian, Chinese, etc. Other than that all good. Do not hesitate to stay here.
