Riu Santa Fe: Best resort I've stayed at

Perfect if you want to find the social scene, everything is pretty central. I just wish they played urban latin hits in Pacha. They played top 40's. The main buffet was amazing. Some of the best food i've had at a resort. Shrimp was fresh, tacos and everything that you would expect in mexico is there. The A la cartes are great. The after hour snacks were not just hamburgers and hot dogs, there was a salad option, nacho's and pastries. Social scene at the party pool is good, as well as the cent [... read more]ral area at night. You can always find the party. However, you can always escape and have quiet time in other places which was perfect. Riu had a bit of everything. We went to Wal-mart to buy our excursions which were a lot cheaper than the resort. We paid a portion of the excursion, then the remainder when we arrived at the excursion check in. A lot cheaper than hotel rates. The pools were great, all of them. The beach area was perfect because of the escape from the vendors. However, watch out for how powerful the waves are. The rooms are great. Shows at night are great. i wish they had more dancing during the day by animation.

Dreams Jade Resort and Spa: Fantastic Clean friendly resort

Our trip to Mexico to Now Jade was the first time in 25 years that we have been able to get away. We went with another family making it a group of 14 and we had a fantastic time. The Food was fantastic in all restaurants and the staff were so friendly and very quick to react. The rooms are a great size and always cleaned well. Valentin Imperial Riviera Maya: Beautiful resort

Dining was more than excellent, grounds lovely, great beach for swimming and walking along. Staff pleasant with always a "Hola". Entertainment was good and live music was nice to listen to and dance to. A bonus was the variety of birds.

Riu Tequila: Great service - well maintained grounds.

Spent a week at Riu Tequila, our second time in Playacar Gated community. Its walking distance the downtown Playa del Carmen, we did the jaunt to 5th ave twice this week. Overall impression of the Riu Tequila was very good. Ill touch on a few key points; The food was amazing- there was something for everyone- there was only one day throughout the trip where is was less than par- everything overcooked; but overall no complaints about food. The drinks were fabulous! Premium spirits and they were n [... read more]ot shy with them- they learned quickly what you liked and how you liked it and never let you go without a drink in your hand. The staff was SUPERB! By far the best customer service we have received yet in Mexico - even the staff that did not have great English communicated themselves in other ways very well and understood what you asked- though could not always give a great verbal response. The staff definitely made up for any downfalls. The entertainment was slightly disappointing at times, but we did see 3 spectacular night shows- Moulin Rouge, Michael Jackson and Mammia Mia were great make sure you see them- props and costumes were spectacular I thought. The rest of the shows- and the day entertainment- not overly great- we enjoyed it more down by the beach pool at the Riu Yucatan. The Tequila is a walk from the beach but a manageable one- there is also a shuttle that runs every 10 min- they stop for lunch between 1-3. The beach itself if beautiful- and even though you share it with all the other Riu's and the Wyndam is tucked in there too there were lots of loungers. Once you are down there there are 2 "snack bars" at which you can eat, one at Riu Yucatan and one at Riu Palaycar. This was not a downfall for us but would be for many- the resort feels more in the "jungle" your surrounded by lush greenery so If your looking for a great "beach vacation" I would encourage the Riu Yucatan or Riu Playacar. The rooms were very clean and well kept, the grounds were meticulously maintained- its not a new resort but definitely does not feel old. All in all- good resort:)

The Fives Beach Hotel and Residences Playa Del Carmen: 5*

Amazing rooms, excellent food and the most wonderful and friendly staff at any resort I have ever stayed at in the Caribbean! Took no time to check in, the room was exactly what was shown in the pictures, the food was outstanding and the drinks are made with fresh juices.

Grand Palladium Colonial: Great resort for family!

Nanny service was superb - Marlene was excellent. The staff was very attentive to detail, very helpful. We enjoyed a couples message which was remarkable, soothing and enjoyable. Staff made us feel at home. Pampering service. Pool service was exceptional. easy to find a pool bed. Great activities - zumba was excellent. Great atmosphere. Drinks were refreshing. A la carte restaurants innovative with exceptional service. Be sure to go to Xcaret which is a great park. Do not go on jewelry tour - ri [... read more]p off. too much pressure by jewelry company. Insincere. Rumors that jewelry is overpriced.

Dreams Vallarta Bay Resort and Spa: Superb place

The resort is amazing. Accommodations, food and service was top notch. We travelled with two kids (10 and 8) and they had a blast as well. The hotel grounds are beautiful and offer good choice of pools and activities for everyone. This was our second time at Now Amber and we are still very impressed.

Melia Puerto Vallarta: Wonderful week!

We have stayed at the Melia before so we knew it would be a great week! Only complaint is the Wifi in the lobby - REALLY BAD! No email - no skype and very slow if anything on the internet. So leave your computer at home and enjoy this lovely resort!

Wyndham Alltra Playa del Carmen: Perfect getaway

The hotel has a prime location in playa del carmen. You have the ocean at your feet and fifth avenue a quick stroll away. We had a fifth floor room conveniently located near the sushi/ swim up bar. The rooms were nice and for a change, your balcony was a continuous deck overlooking the road. We were initially disappointed by this but really enjoyed it. The hotel is immaculately clean. The 4 restaurants were great; the Brazilian was decent but the Italian and Mexican were fantastic. The buffet ne [... read more]ver failed to give us many options. The staff were the best I have met to date and we genuinely felt welcomed. The beach front was fantastic, and my only complaint for the whole trip was the ocean was hard to swim in due to large rocks. I was told this was due to a tropical storm that damaged the frontage. It seemed like they were rebuilding the area, bringing sand in at night. Most people hovered in the pool, which we also enjoyed. The spa was great and as a serious athlete the gym was very adequate. I rarely take the time to write these, but as we had such a great time, wanted to share our experience.

Grand Sunset Princess: Terrific Resort

The resort was amazing. Everything was above expectation, rooms were clean, grounds were beautiful, loved the monkeys. The ocean area never lacked chairs and the beach was terrific. Lots of activities, lots to do or just laze around. What we were disappointed with was the water spa. A lot of the buttons didn't work, and no one came with us to explain what the water jets did. We also found that the shuttle service was not frequent enough. It took 7 minutes to walk to the main lobby but it took th [... read more]e shuttle 15 to 20 minutes to pick up passengers. There was a lot of waiting for the shuttles and then by the time the shuttle arrived, it was full. Probably would have been better if the shuttle service was more frequent during busy peak times. Overall, we were very pleased with our stay.

Bahia Principe Explore Coba: great resort

Personal safety is a going concern as we were warned by the resort staff not to book a tour unless it was booked within the resort. The grounds are clean. Great service as the ceiling fan did not work when we arrived and there was someone there for repairs within 30 minutes. There is a great variety of food to choose from at the buffet and there are many a la cart restaurants to choose from.

Bahia Principe Explore Coba: Decent resort

The grounds were nice, rooms were decent. The food was good as well. The resort was just a little too big for our taste. With it being so big, there's no personal touch, and you don't get to know the staff. We found lineups too long to wait for service at concierge. Also, little extra charges for the safe was unnecessary. It should be included in the all inclusive fee. That being said, the resort was nice, just not our style.

Park Royal Beach Huatulco: Wonderful view

Great view wonderful staff , large room building 10 has highest and best view of the bay out of all the resorts in the area. Resort built into a hill side . Amenities and food very much a 3 star. However staff are over the top accommodating and friendly . Although the rooms are on the hillside there is a pool and dining room on the beach front with regular shuttles. Zel Cozumel: Fantastic Resort!

I thoroughly enjoyed the Melia. Wonderful fun and hard working staff, comfortable and clean room, the beach is a dream, beautiful waters, great snorkeling, lots of activities for people to do, tons of shopping options in town which is within a very short distance, loved the atmosphere and the people! I plan to return to the Melia next year. I met some wonderful people.

Sandos Caracol Nature Resort and Water Park: Great Resort

The grounds themselves were very jungle oriented, with lush foliage everywhere. There were iguanas and cotis and racoons and cats are running around, which I really liked, oh and can't forget the geckos. The trails were different, plentiful and interesting, the food was awesome, and it did not matter which restaurant you went too, they are were great as well as the severs. However, I did not appreciate going to eat on our last nite and finding the restaurant closed with no warning to anyone, whe [... read more]n we asked the staff they had no idea. That was not kosher, and we had some problems with our room and when we spoke to management, we were told whell its the jungle 80% humidity -- which we replied the other two rooms that are friends are in have no issues!... So, I was not please with their response to that problem, however, they were quick to send to maintenance guys around when we lost our hot water, and had a flood and a/c dripped everywhere..... They had a water park which they desperately needed in that heat, however, we did not have time to explore it as they was not shade anywhere near it.... but overall I liked the resort, and would probably go back again.....

Secrets Huatulco: Spectacular on all fronts

From the moment we checked in I knew this vacation was to be a special one. The staff were amazingly friendly and assisted us with any concerns. Property is beautiful and amazingly clean. This resort is not for the party crowd but absolutely perfect getaway with that special person in your life. This is the pacific coast so for the novice travelers the ocean was a beautiful temperature but can have significant undertows. Dreams Sands Cancun Resort and Spa: Disappointing. Was expecting much more from Dreams

Overall OK. But you might want to consider the following: AC unit was not working properly, and very noisy. Room finishing was very poor (light bulb missing in one of the lamps next to night stand, bathroom calking peeling off). An event was thrown with very loud music, until midnight, so if you have young kids, you might want to think twice before booking. As for the food, quality was great. However I felt they were poor on their “seafood” menu.

Dreams Sapphire Resort and Spa: Amazing Resort

The Resort was better then the picture. staff friendly, grounds clean. Room out of this world. The hole experience was superb. I would recommend this Resort to everyone to go, for a wedding to just relaxing.

Royalton Riviera Cancun Resort and Spa: Stunning New Resort

If you are looking for a relaxing vacation and possibly not leaving the resort then this all inclusive is for you. The hotel has been opened just a year and is truly amazing. The food was very good to excellent and we were always able to find everything we desired. The surroundings were spectacular, very pleasing to the eye. The beach was good but not the best I have been to but all the different pools made up for this. We love both the pool and the beach and usually split our time between the t [... read more]wo. The beach has some seaweed but nothing that was not manageable. We were able to get in and enjoy the water. The resort is the lone wolf at the moment , in the middle of nowhere. If you are wanting more liveliness around the area then consider going somewhere else. This hotel is in the middle of the mangroves and does not have a resort on either side of you. Give it five years and this will probably all change. If you are content with the peace then book it ASAP. Cancun and Playa Del Carmen are both a 15-20 minute taxi ride away in either direction. Be cautious about the staff trying to sell you a TravelSmart plan. We took the tour to get the freebee's and almost bought into the program. They make it sound enticing but make sure you read the fine print or ensure you have all the details and fully understand what you are buying. Very expensive and we kept getting mixed information from different people. In the end we wasted about 5 hours of our first day sitting inside with aggressive sales people all around you. Not worth the time and effort or the free bottle of Tequila. Overall this resort was one of the best that I have been to and would certainly go again. I was not ready to come home after one week.

Grand Sirenis Riviera Maya: Huge resort

The resort is huge lots of walking to get around ...but a great place to enjoy your vacation. The rooms are comfy but could use an upgrade the bathrooms are kinda of goofy with the openness ,ok if just a couple in the room .the grounds are beautiful ,service is great,food is great,bars need to stay open longer if you are a hard core drinker . My wife and I had an excellent time ...cheers !
