Royalton Splash Punta Cana: Memories Splash

The staff at the hotel were amazing. Unfortunately we came down to celebrate 3 births - all 27 of us became ill on this trip. Not quite sure what did it to us - but a bad experience, for this reason wouldn't recommend the resort.

Catalonia Bavaro Resort: Terrible Resort

Upon arrival at the main entrance there was no welcome. We went to reception where we checked in. Very hard time understanding representative who could not speak very good English. Food was not good. Half the food stations were not operating in buffet all week. Customer service did not seem to care about problems.

VH Gran Ventana Beach Resort: Fantastic Resort

This was our second time to this resort (first time was 10 years ago). The resort is lovely. The rooms are clean and beds comfortable. Food was delicious. Beach was nice but too many vendors on the beach. A simple no thank you and they continue on their way but that happens a dozen times a day. This place is very well managed and efficient and friendly work staff.

Dreams La Romana: The Best of The Best

Just 45 mins drive from the Airport, on a great new road, Dreams really lived up to its name. Royalton Splash Punta Cana: Great facilities

Memories is a beautiful resort, the rooms are nice, clean grounds etc but the staff could have been friendlier. The restaurants are beautiful & presentation great although the food was only average. Also, the rooms were cleaned irregularly. Besides that, great resort.

Royalton Splash Punta Cana: Memories/Royalton - Great Trip!

Me and my girlfriend stayed here from Nov 5th, 2014 to Nov 10th, 2014. Great resort it is actually connected to the Royalton. As per our stay service was great we checked in quick and upgraded our wrist bands for about $150 combined so we could use all of the amenities of the Royalton. The resort is clean and the staff are friendly. Room was nice and cleaned everyday regardless of time, probably due to a good tip. I believe his name was Roubilio so look for him - Nice thing about him is he remembers you everywhere in the resort and will always come to see how everything is. Drinks are sub-par, but they do make some great shots - Juan at the beach swing bar & the sports bar makes a shot called the "Dominican Fire" gets you in an enjoyable mood to say the least. Shot outs to Juan! he thought I looked like some singer called Prince Royce so he would always joke around with me and my girlfriend. Dinners are great as we upgraded so could eat at any restaurant - the Spanish Tappa was amazing we were taken care of by the Manager Raul Jean - Sangrias, and shrimp were amazing along with the service. The beach is beautiful and the water is great - orange or yellow drinks attract bees so I wouldn't suggest getting them at the beach. Nightclub was pretty fun if you go with an open mind. Casino is the easiest money I have ever made - they play blackjack with like 4 decks so its easy to count. The splash park was a lot of fun as well and it is kept extremely clean which was great. The staff was great along with the food and drinks which made for a great vacation. I would definitely return.

Occidental Caribe: Served our family very well

Good service, food and entertainment.Great pools for children to swim.the beach is the very best along the resort strip!Room was clean and well made every day.This was our second time at the resort and I would de definitely return.

Bahia Principe Escape Ambar: Not what I had booked !!

We booked this resort at the recommendations of a few different friends. To start, the Air Transat representative on the bus from the airport to the resort was impossible to understand. When we arrived, check in was disorganized and frustrating to say the least. We waited in line and when I reached the desk, I was handed a piece of paper to write my name, passport and email address, but I had to leave the line to do so, and come back. When I returned (3 mins later) the person serving me was gone [... read more]...back in line we go. After waiting in line again, in the hot, un-air conditioned lobby we were told our room was not ready and to come back in 30 mins. Returned 40 mins later and it still wasn't ready. When we finally got our room and map of the resort I was very, very confused. I had booked the Luxury Ambar because we were told it was "right on the beach". I had reviewed the resort map on line prior to arriving. Imagine my surprise when I am handed a map with an entire section that wasn't shown on line. Apparently we were put in the "Ambar 2"!!! WHAT? Who knew there was a second one. It was NO WHERE near the beach and required a long walk of a shuttle. This is not what we had booked, AT ALL This section of the resort opened the Monday before we arrived. There were many, many kinks they still hadn't worked out. Phone lines didn't work, called room service and the phone just rings and rings, cleaning staff was overwhelmed (some days our room wasn't cleaned until 5 pm). It was difficult to secure al a carte resturant reservations and we were not able to for each night of our stay as everything was booked. We were placed on the third floor at the back of the building. Our balcony view was that of a service road and a pile of construction debris. When we headed to the beach the second morning at 9:10 am we were amazed to discover that there were NO chairs available. AT ALL!!! It appeared that the folks staying at the Ambar 1 (nice and close to the beach) were able to put towels on the chairs before heading for breakfast. The following day we get up early, have a quick breakfast and head to the beach again, this time arriving at 8:00 am. We secured the last TWO chairs!!! The food was good and the pool in the AMBAR 2 was nice. Never had a problem getting a chair at the pool (either because this area wasn't full or everyone was at the beach !) It's hard to rate each item because they are both good and bad. 1. Beach (poor, couldn't get seats) Pool (good, clean and lots of room) 2. Service - poor - (check-in was awful, any problems you brought forward were ignored) BUT Good - pool staff and wait staff were very attentive 4. Rooms - Poor (not what we booked, far from beach, horrible view of garbage) BUT also Good - (brand new and clean) PUNTA CANA airport was awful; Too many flights leaving at the same time through Air Transat. Line ups were very long

Occidental Punta Cana: Great resort

The staff was amazing, everyone was sooo friendly. They were not pushy at all for tips like in some other places. The food was beyond what we expected, it was simply delicious. The a la carte restaurants and the breakfast buffet were amazing. The room was a nice size, but the bed wasnt very comfortable. The entertainment at night was also great they had different kinds from dancers to musicians to acrobatics and karaoke. It is not a party hotel for sure. However there is a club called Mangu 2 steps from the resort, the entrance is free if you're from this hotel. The club was okay. Right outside the resort you can find bars, casinos and gift shops. They are all walking distance. Don't be afraid to walk around its pretty safe.

Barcelo Bavaro Palace: Great Trip with group of friends

Hotel accommodation is excellent since the renovation with a playable yet challenging golf course with 5 sets of markers to choose from. Food was not warm enough on the buffet even if the first in to eat and A La Carte food was salty unless asked for no sel (Salt). This was down from last years food. Pools are great and seems like they do a great job on classy weddings.

Dreams Royal Beach Punta Cana: Amazing Trip!!

We stayed for the first time at Now Larimar Punta Cana Oct 30th - Nov 6th 2014. We had a great time from the minute we arrived till we departed. We were on a small bus so our check in was quick. We were traveling for a wedding but we also arrived on our wedding anniversary so when we arrived at our room there was a sash on the door that said "Happy Anniversary". The room was very nice but we had glass between our tub and our bed which was nice as some of our friends didn't have this an would hav [... read more]e liked a bit more privacy. It was very humid while we were there so our room got damp and without asking they put a dehumidifier in our room. The beach is amazing nice white sand and enough chairs that we didn't have to go too early to get a spot. The drink service on the beach was good. The entertainment at night was not bad but some of the shows were almost the same. The Love show was the best so funny. The food was great. We didn't eat at the buffet at night as we only ate at the restaurants. You only need a reservation for the Asian table side restaurant which was well worth it and don't miss the Italian restaurant which had an amazing atmosphere. Overall we had a great time and would go back again.

Paradisus Punta Cana: very nice resort

Beautiful well kept grounds, Very good food. Service was not up to 5 star standing. The higher the tipping, the better the service. There were a lot of small issues that needed addressing - examples - no hand towels in rooms, bar fridge not being restocked, no security safes in rooms as advertised.

Bahia Principe Explore El Portillo: Problems with sevice.

This was our second stay at this hotel.Last year we were very impressed with perfect service.The grounds and beach are very beautiful.But this time the hotel was overcrowded and administration seemed to have a hard time coping. At arrival the room assigned to us was already occupied when arriving late at night.This resulted in a frantic search for another room,which we found inferior. We had to ask for towels in our room several times and one night and part of a day we had no running water.Toilette could not be flushed. House phones did not work either. We were very disappointed.

Riu Palace Punta Cana: Disappointed

We just returned from a 7 day stay at the Riu Palace Punta Cana Everything about this hotel was average at best. Food & restaurants were disappointing. The grounds were well kept. Both myself & husband got sick even though we used only bottled water for everything including brushing our teeth, as told when we arrived.

Be Live Grand Bavaro: Be live grand punta cana

It was amazing, first we got upgraded for no reason, we didn't complain once so checking in and founding that out was a bonus. We ended up getting ocean view I didn't pay for that so again it was a bonus..food was amazing, people where nice, would for sure go back.

Bahia Principe Explore Esmeralda: Gourmet!

The restaurants are amazing! Brazilian, Mexican, French, Italian and the list goes on and on.....impecable service. The weather is perfect and there is miles and miles of sandy beaches. The room are spacious and very clean.

Casa Marina Sosua Trademark by Wyndham All Inclusive: 2nd time there and loved it!

This is my second time at Casa Marina. I heard they have changed management and I was very impressed with the food this time! I remember the food being sub par... but those tacos were by far the best I've had. We will be back!

Barcelo Bavaro Palace: Absolutely amazing!

We had stayed at this resort many times in the past but hadn't been here for 4 years and we were blown away at the changes. We stayed in the 5100 block and in all of our travels have never had a room as nice. The golf course was beautiful and the food was better than previous visits.

Paradisus Punta Cana: Nice resort. Lots of traffic on pathways

Overall the resort was great. Beaches were fantastic, pool was clean and rooms were ok. The food was fantastic. Best food I've had at an all inclusive. Some of our best meals were actually at the buffet. Downsides - lots of traffic on the main walkway. It's a big resort but they don't have any service roads. All the service trucks, maintenance trucks and shuttles compete for the same space as guests walking on the main walkway. With small kids I didn't think that traffic was going to be an issu [... read more]e. Always busy and some aggressive drivers. Never got a working safe. Kids pool was a ways away at the reserve. Overall a positive experience but would hesitate to go back with small kids based purely on the traffic on the resort.

Riu Palace Bavaro: not all Riu's are created equal

We have stayed at several Riu Palace's and this is by far not up too the standards that it should be. The food was exactly the same day after day. The beach was none existant in front of our hotel, just hugh boulders trying to stop tge errosion. The rating of the location really should be dropped down because there is no way it should have a 5 or 4.5 star or palace rating. Be careful just because it says it is on Bavaro beach doesn't mean the location is good. We made this mistake.
