Bahia Principe Explore Tulum: Very nice resort

Went to a wedding and it was amazing. The hotel staff are nice and the maids are very good and helpfull. Beaches are nice but there is some rockey parts and the pool with the swim up bar has some fun activities.

Hyatt Vivid Playa Del Carmen: Very good - 4.5*

Transfer longer than expected - arrived at airport at 945am, finally got to hotel at 130pm. Check in - quick and easy. One of the two rooms we booked wa ready. The other couple had to wait. Cool cloth and drink. Very nice. Room - beautiful. Large and kept very clean. Our rooms were fight next to each other as we requested. King beds as we requested. We had 811 and 812. Quiet rooms near quiet pool and coffee house. Amenities okay. Shampoo and body wash kinda cheap. But they have bug spray and h [... read more]and sanitizer. Kinda nice. Blow dryer not too bad. Mini bar stocked daily. We had turn down service only a few nights we were here. I think they come early (5pm ish) when we were getting ready for supper and had the do not disturb sign hung. That or they don't do it every night as we were out of the room each night from about 6 to at least 10. Didn't use room service. Bed hard and a little creaky but okay. Bathroom spacious with two sinks. Water in shower changed temperature on its own. Not a deal breaker. Grounds. Beautiful. Beach - This surprised me. I was expecting a more beautiful beach. The beach is very narrow and the hotel chairs are lined up so thick and tight that we were literally sitting infront of passerbys. Very rocky directly in front of hotel. Better to left of hotel. Walking along the beach was okay. A few times in each direction we had to maneuver around and over things. The port for the water shuttle to/ from Cozumel for cruise passengers is just to the right on the beach. Usightly and horns are noisy but not too big a deal. More shade coverage available here but be prepared to wake up early to reserve a talapa. Service on the beach is excellent. We tipped $1 each time we were brought a drink. Food - very good. Spice - very good for buffet; we tipped $2 here for breakfast and lunch El Mediterranean - very good Rincon Mexican - just okay Asiano - very good Roast coffee house - very good (actually all coffee across resort is excellent) Maria Marie - excellent food and service (by Marco) Pescatore (at across resort). Just okay. Server was missing a personality and his English was quite limited. My husband said the lasagna was excellent, though. We tipped $5 to $10 for dinner, $5 if service was good, $10 if it was exceptional (like Marco in Maria Marie) Dress code in Maria Marie mentioned no shorts and no sandals but we saw people in both shorts and sandals. Drinks - a bit watered down but tasty. I asked for grey goose and lemonade a few times and it was 99% lemonade. The other drinks i had were mostly mix too. That's to be expected though. I saw many many people enjoying themselves (drunk) so obviously if you drink enough, there is enough alcohol to eventually feel it. House wine (the only wine included) was mediocre at best. Nothing we would consider drinking at home. No reservations needed except at Pescatore and Maria Marie. Chefs Plate is extra $80 unless you have a suite so we skipped it. Lobster dinner they sometimes push is also extra $40. We skipped that too. Skipped Spa - too expensive Skipped gym - preferred to run and walk along beach Service - Very good. Time share - managed to avoid this discussion completely. 5th avenue - very nice to explore. Walked along here every night and did some people watching, window shopping and some souvenirs shopping. Excursions - Cozumel for day on our own. Paid $300 pesos pp for return trip with ultramar at port. Also rent jeep with Rent Adora (Sergio - charming and friendly) before we boarded the ferry. Rental jeep $67 USD all in. The jeep was pathetic. Not even worth $100 and the hard sell on the Cozumel side to buy more insurance was wrong. I would not recommend this company becasue of the jeep state and the employees at the Cozumel office. Cozumel - just okay. More of the same souvenir shopping. Some nice beaches and interesting places to shop along the south coast. Nothing to write home about. I would skip it to be honest. Lobby bar and entertainment - a nice place to sit at the end of the day and have a drink enjoy the entertainment. Not too busy. Pool - busy and loud. No seats available by 7am. No shade at all. Why this resort doesn't spend the money and buy 30 quality umbrellas is Unfathable. Quiet pool - nice but no breeze at all during day. Chairs all taken very early too. Those bartenders very friendly and entertaining for a drink late afternoon.

Grand Park Royal Cozumel: 4 star service!

Loved the resort, it's compact and that means no long walks to rooms, beach or snack bars... Excellent food, loved the ice cream cafe... Shows weren't very good compared to other larger resorts so that was a disappointment . .theatre seating was concrete too..no padding to sit on . .should have cushions...same for beach loungers...

Catalonia Yucatan: Great Girls Week

Fantastic food, service, amenities. Juice bar was a nice surprise! Felt safe walking outside the resort in the gated community. All excursions booked through Airtransat rep Anna were terrific - her service was exceptional.

Dreams Sands Cancun Resort and Spa: Incredible experience

From the moment we walked into the lobby to the morning we left to return home the experience at this resort was top notch. The service was impecible, the staff friendly and very helpful. The food was absolutely delicious with lots of variety. Any other time I would be sick of the buffet by the third day but they had endless options. I ate at the Italian and the Asian restaurants and the food was amazing. We had a room on the 6th floor with an ocean view and balcony. Highly recommend having a ba [... read more]lcony the views were to die for. The evening entertainment was great and the drinks were delicious. Lobby bar makes the best mojitos. The ocean was warm and shallow. The beach its self was decent. We never had too much of an issue getting a chair. I will definitely be back to Cancun and highly recommend this resort!

Riu Emerald Bay: Beautiful Resort

The RIU Emerald Bay is a clean, well groomed resort. The staff are very attentive and friendly. Room was clean and the beverages and water were re-stocked frequently. We had heard complaints about the elevators being slow at times and were pleasantly surprised that this was not the case. I guess if you are in no hurry to get anywhere (and why would you be on vacation) then the elevator issues would not be evident. Beautiful beach and pool areas and the sunsets were gorgeous from the 18th floor. (Just a side bar on the elevator issues: they were working on adding new elevators while we were there).

Ocean Coral Riviera Cancun: Great Resort

If you are looking for a relaxing vacation with a beautiful beach, this is the resort. The rooms were clean and the bed was comfortable. The food and service was very good. I loved the live music / DJ every night down at the pool bar area. We had an amazing time.

Blue Bay Grand Esmeralda: Nice resort

Nice resort, I have stayed in nicer. Food was great, pool was great. If you are a beach person this is not the resort for you. Lots of beach erosion and sand bags. Entertainment staff were great especially PEPE. Rooms were ok, my AC didn't work but I also didn't call to have it fixed, it was too late when I realized it wasn't working. All in all we had a great vacation.

Golden Parnassus Resort & Spa: Alright

It is small, Did not like late check-in. 3 pm No fridge in rooms Did not like getting up at 6 am in order to get a chair. Never up early enough to get on beach. Needed more umbrellas The buffet for dinner should be open All staff were great! but the weather was awsome !! Sun everyday

Bahia Principe Explore Coba: Enjoyable stay

The hotel is very nice and is part of a larger 4 resort complex. Very easy to access trolleys to get anywhere you want. We were left somewhat disappointed by the a la cartes. The buffet has a great selection. We upgraded to the Royal Golden but do not think it was worth it. The rooms were large however had a musty smell (we were on the ground floor). Was a great vacation but prefer smaller resorts.

Sunscape Sabor Cozumel: Great Resort

We had a great week at the Sunscape Sabor Cozumel Resort Apr 9-16. Transfer from airport very smooth, checked in without a hitch and our room - although garden view (parking lot view mostly) was in a very convenient place to all amenities. The air conditioner was not the best but we don't spend much time in the room anyways. The resort itself was beautiful, all restaurants oceanside and the sunsets gorgeous. Grand Sunset Princess: Very good overall.

Nice, well appointed suites. Lots of Canadians...a plus!! Platinum section worth upgrade with good value with own pool . bar, lobby, lounge, concierge etc. Staff excellent, very friendly a wanting to please with excellent service. Beach shore was nice, but rather rocky in water for swimming. Food generally quite good, plenty of selection and most specialty restaurants generally good. Only negatives, since previous visit (5 years ago): Platinum section not adult only, (was before) so Platinum po [... read more]ol area noisier with small children when main pool(s) are very close by; Requested King Bed Suite with reservation, but got 2 double beds...staff tried to fix best they could by pushing together, but not the same; Reservations for specialty restaurants rather difficult to obtain, often despite the restaurant being over half empty at times and days requested (rumor was staff shortages forced hotel to restrict availability to maintain service level. Maybe cost containment measure, don't know. Perhaps Platinum guests should get better access at least. Usual hotel problem of guests holding pool chairs with towels all day, when seldom if ever use those chairs, loungers. 7 a.m.most desirable seats, despite big pools and lots of loungers, are 'taken' with towels, but empty. Must be a better way. Wife enjoyed spa, massage. Overall very good value, solid 4 star.

Las Brisas Huatulco: Super vacation!

We enjoyed our stay very much. The staff are very friendly and work hard at their jobs. We found the food good at all of the al a carte restaurants, and the buffet was good as well. We received the best service from Juan on the beach every day! He was very quick to bring us our bar refreshments. Eric was our Westjet rep and he was very helpful throughout our stay. If I had one thing that wasn't up to snuff, it was that the girls in the gift shop could not communicate with us very well. They did  [... read more]not speak English which made it difficult at times. We experienced a couple of earthquakes while at the Las Brisas. We found out while there that tremors happen about 300 times per year. We sure would have liked to know that ahead of time! They aren't necessarily bad tremors, but feel visitors should be aware, as it is very common. Overall, our trip was excellent, and plan to go back in the future!

The Bel Air: The Belair Collections

The service was second to none. Staff bent over backwards to accommodate everyone from service, information and ensuring a easy flow to airport. highly recommend this resort. The view was spectacular..small resort was nice.

Riu Tequila: overall exelent value

Even if its an older hotel, it was in excellent shape, very clean, spacious room with a well stock bar. Buffet restaurant was amazing so we did not bother to wait in line to get in at one of the 3 restaurants. Small walk to the beach and if you don't or cant the have a shuttle. once there plenty of chairs, bar. superb pool and restaurant at our disposal. Best feature for us, you can walk 2km either by the beach or street to playa del Carmen.

Secrets Aura Cozumel: Nice Resort but still needs some improvements

A Secrets repeaters, we felt that this result isn't quite up to the amazing standard the other Secrets have. Service in the Windows restaurant at breakfast and lunch needs addressing. (very slow service) The market café buffet needs some serious attention (ie its small and doesn't have anywhere near the selection the other Secrets have). The SkyBar was also an excellent bar with sensational views of the sunset. Pools were lovely. Beach not so good but if you go into the ocean via the dock ladder, it was awesome. We would go back again and hope some improvements were made. However, we're already booked for Secret Capri next winter!

Grand Sirenis Riviera Maya: Jaw Dropping!

My visit to this resort was for a destination wedding (my boyfriend's brother was the Groom). The ceremony took place on a private beach area on the resort and it was a picture perfect location to have a beach wedding! In my opinion this resort is jaw dropping in both beauty and size! We stayed for a week. I highly suggest bringing some snorkel gear with you as you can do this activity on the beaches and you have the opportunity to see manta rays, sea turtles and different kinds of fish! I'm a veggie and there was more then enough food selection for myself. If you book an a la carte dinner (which I highly suggest) they usually have vegetarian options on the menu as well. Also for the omnivores out there I was told the meat is great (this review comes from my meat eating boyfriend and his family)! The nightly entertainment was also very good and we always tried to catch the shows whenever possible. There is a pre-show for those of you who have little ones before the main show at 9:30PM. The entire resort staff I came into contact with were all very friendly and accommodating with any requests we had. I highly recommend this resort and I can't wait to go back!

Decameron Los Cocos Guayabitos Ramada: Great resort in Guayabitos

Have been to Decameron Los Cocos several times and we are very satisfied with the resort. We always stay in the superior rooms, which are a little quieter and have the adult pool. The staff are very friendly in this resort and always make us feel welcome. Lots to do around town with many good restaurants. Sad to leave and will definitely go back.

Canto Del Sol: Nice Resort

We had no issues with anything, the only negatives we could see was that there was no activities for teenagers, it went from small children to adult activities. The beach was not usable to swim or walk in due to rocks all down the beach that made it hard on your feet and there was a large drop off about ten feet into the water (could not touch bottom, found this out the hard way).

Sandos Caracol Nature Resort and Water Park: Great Family Resort

Food & service fantastic.....excellent kids club & water park! The food & services are 4 star! Main pool should be 3 times bigger..... Check-in is terrible ..... Need to communicate with new guests better then everything would have flowed better - once check-in was done . ...... Great time!
