Royalton Punta Cana Resort: extremely relaxing

All the facilities and restaurants were in close proximity to each other which made it very convenient. The service was amazing! The staffs always had a big smile on their face and they just seemed very welcoming.

VH Gran Ventana Beach Resort: Average Resort

The taste of drinks and food could use some improvement- entertainers need to be more mindful of all audiences/guest and not just favor guests from certain 'backgrounds' more than others - entertainment could be longer and better - facility was kept clean at all times and reception staff/maid service were efficient.

Iberostar Waves Costa Dorada: Beautiful resort!!

All of the grounds are very well cared for, all of the main areas, and washrooms were always clean. The food was very good and the staff very helpful. The entertainment at night was enjoyable, the lighting and sound were good as well.

Grand Bavaro Princess: AMAZING RESORT!

EVERYTHING WAS GREAT! THE ROOMS WERE BEAUTIFUL! THE BEACH AND POOLS WERE REALLY NICE. THE SERVICE WAS EXCELLENT. THE FOOD WAS REALLY GOOD ESPECIALLY AT THE BELLA PASTA; THE CHEF WAS AMAZING AND FOOD ALWAYS TASTED GREAT!

Majestic Elegance Punta Cana: Great Value!!

We spent 2 weeks and could have stayed longer!!! The resort was clean and beautiful. Rooms were spacious and beautiful. The Elegance club was a nice touch. All the staff were friendly and helpful. The drinks were great, the food was good. The spa was great. Gym was nice - needs some updating, but had everything you need for a good workout. We stayed at a different resort in Punta Cana for one week in April for almost the same price as two weeks here. Punta Cana Princess: 3 Days Was Not Enough!!

I joined several other family members to celebrate Mom's 80th birthday. The staff have mastered customer service, making guests feel at home from the moment you arrive. Great pool, beautiful beach 100 m away, many restaurants to choose from, various form of entertainment provided. What's not to like?

VH Gran Ventana Beach Resort: overall a great resort

First time to DR and this resort was lovely, grounds and rooms clean and well decorated, everything close together, felt very safe on resort. Being a slow season, there were no lineups for anything but that also meant the buffet and grill bar were not on top of their game. The outdoor grill cooked all the food at noon and just reheated the burgers, chicken, fries, etc.. when you ordered and the food sat out on the counters. Day trip to Puerto Plata and Cable Car ride up the local mountain was amazing - booked with James at the little shopping plaza for a better deal. Overall a great holiday, met some other guests that all felt the same way.

Casa Marina Sosua Trademark by Wyndham All Inclusive: Very Nice Resort

Casa Marina beach resort was a amazing experience. The grounds, pools, resturants, bathrooms etc were always clean. The food was delicious but different varieties would make it better. Our room was perfect very clean and comfortable. People were really friendly and helpful. We met alot of new people. The drinks were great! The calypso dances were fun it would be nice to see better shows and more entertainment on the resort.

The Eurostars Grand Cayacoa: Paradise

Great staff, good food. Very clean and comfortable. The beach was lovely but small. Could use a snack bar on the beach. Show at night were great. Would go back again. Loved the Samana area. The ziplining was a great day trip.

Barcelo Bavaro Palace: Breath taking resort!

The Barcelo Bavaro Palace Deluxe was such an amazing resort. I've stayed at a few 5-Stars and Barcelo was definitely one of my favorites. Everything was so clean and well landscaped. I would sit on my balcony in the morning and watch everyone was everything down from the loungers/bars/floors/sidewalks. Our room was very spacious. The housekeeping was absolutely wonderful. I was travelling with my two young children and they would always leave extra bottles of water and cookies. The mini bar was  [... read more]restocked daily. The food was amazing for caribbean food. They have a train that runs all day and most of the night because the resort is sooooo big. I could go on and on. It was a wonderful vacation.

Hyatt Vivid Punta Cana: Amazing food and service!

The staff were wonderful. The food was great! Lots of options and variety with quality products! The weather was disappointing as there was a lot of seaweed on the sand which prevented us from going in the water. This was mostly likely due to inclement weather from the week before that stirred up the shoreline. Either way the Dreams staff were diligently working throughout the week to clear off the sand. By day 4 we could go in the water!

Majestic Colonial Punta Cana Beach Resort: Amazing Resort

Just returned from a week at the Majestic Colonial (Oct 23 - 30). Below is a brief overview of our thoughts/impressions 1. Hotel - kept very clean, lobby beautiful, gardens amazing 2. Staff - everyone works very hard to help the guests have a wonderful time, each one of them had a smile on their face and was willing to help you with anything 3. Food: Dinner Buffet was only so-so; French was wonderful (Jenny the hostess is absolutely wonderful always a smile on her face and happy to see you) , Mexican was great, Japanese was great food and a great show; Gourmet (breakfast for Colonial Club members) was great; Steak House (beach area) great dinners and great lunch buffet; main breakfast buffet food was good (Devlin made great eggs and spoke English/French/Spanish very well) service was so-so; Romantic Dinner in the garden gazebo was truly worth the extra money food was fantastic and Edwin our waiter was great) 6. Bahia Principe Explore Punta Cana: Amazing place

Our week at Gran Bahia Principe was great. We were celebrating our 25th wedding anniversary. The room was beautiful. We were 5 minutes from the pool. The staff were so friendly everywhere from the lobby, restaurants and housekeeping. Around the pool each day was so fun. Entertainment going on each day. Was great to cool off in the pool with a drink at the pool bar. The food was excellent. Can't complain at all about that. Ocean Sand Golf and Beach Resort: Trying to be a 5 star resort.

This was the second time that my wife and I have stayed at the Ocean Blue & Sands. We will not be returning. The resort is laid out with two rows of several independent living accommodations on either side. The beach is at the one end with the Lobby being at the other. There are two pools that are near the beach end of the grounds. In order to obtain a beach towel you must walk to the dive shop which is located on the extreme right hand side at the beach. The larger buffet restaurant is at the o [... read more]pposite end of the resort, towards the lobby area and the al a carte restaurants are immediately adjacent to the Lobby. There is a smaller buffet restaurant on the left hand side of the resort at the beach but it is only open for breakfast for those that take the "Privilege" option and for lunch for everyone. (In other words you have your choice between the two buffet restaurants for lunch. This means that you walk a significant distance to get anywhere. The resort does supply a small golf cart type bus that is supposed to operate on a schedule but we have yet been unable to figure out the schedule. In other words bring your walking shoes. The rooms are nicely furnished however water is sometimes absent from the shower. It does get there but not always when you want it. The beds are comfortable and the staff do a descent job of keeping the rooms clean and tidy. We did however have something stolen from our friends room as well as hear of someone else having something stolen from their room. The resort did little if anything to compensate our friends. They claimed to have dealt with the situation but we highly doubt that they did. After all we will be gone in a few days and someone else will arrive. No big deal to them. The food at this resort is nothing to write home about. We have had better. It is edible but not flavourful. The al a carte restaurants are not all always open which may be because of the time of year that we stayed at the resort. (October) One night the steak restaurant is open but the Italian is closed. Then it changes the next night. The first time that we stayed at this resort one of the pools was closed for re-tiling. Both were open this time. On this trip, over the weekend there was a large number of weekend guests. A group of them took over the one pool and had a large radio blasting music so loud that the entertainment staff could not perform their show. Staff were asked several times over 4 hours to have the music turned off and did nothing. Eventually it was turned off but the majority of the guest had no complained or left for the pool area for the day. Be prepared for a sales pitch. When you arrive you are met by the Hotels representative who has a set appointment for you to meet him or her in the lobby. They tell you that it is for a tour of the facility and information of the available attractions and outside tours. They say that they will also be able, at that time to give you your pickup information for your return to the airport. Don't believe it. It is a sales pitch for an upgrade to the "Privilege" suite and time share options. Total waste of time. The representatives are pushy and don't take no for an answer. The first time we were at this resort we went to the meeting and told them that we were not interested in any upgrade or time share options or any of site tours. They did not like it. This time we told the representative that we would not be attending the meeting. He tried to change our minds but eventually we had to get rude with him and simply walk away. The airport return information is available in binders from your particular travel company which are located on either side of the lobby area. All you have to do is locate that book and look it up yourself. On one of the nights the resort has retailers come onto the ground selling various items that you could buy on any beach or in any souvenir shop in any resort town. They are persistent and can be rude. All in all we did not like the resort and will not be returning.

Bahia Principe Explore Punta Cana: Great Vacation

Bahia Principe Punta Cana was a great resort, the people were extremely friendly, large suites, walking distance to the wonderful beaches, good flight, great food except they use too much salt for me which resulted in swollen feet and legs making it uncomfortable for me. I still would go back.

Grand Bavaro Princess: Wonderful Resort, Relaxation and Beauty

Everything was 5 star worthy. The ecological area was a nice surprise, the beach was clean and well managed by security and placement of beach stretchers and canopies. Food was good, and the service was fantastic. The staff was very friendly and always came to serve you with smiles and drinks. There was no need for us to take the 'train' as we could walk from the beach end room to the lobby in 5-6 minutes. Many shortcuts if you follow the map once or twice. Rooms are fantastic! Catalonia Royal Bavaro: 2nd time!

Traveled Oct 21-26. It was my husband and my 5th wedding Anniversary, and also our 2nd stay here within 6 months... We like it here:) never once have I traveled to the same all inclusive resort and I've been to 7. Since we were only staying 5 nights we knew we wanted to come back. We got a great price, and it's soooo close to the airport, we literally wasted no time. Room: my husband asked for a clean, non smelling, 2nd floor or higher and ac working room... Flashed a 20$ and we were granted. We [... read more] only spend about 9 hours in here getting ready and sleeping... It was perfect, and we had no issues. Maybe an ant or two but I killed all those and threw our flowers in the garbage Room 4230:) we also tipped 5$ a day and everything was always stocked and clean. Floor could have been swept. Beach: wow were we in shock of what 6 months can do to a beach. In march it was gorgeous!!! Oct... Not so much....Not the resorts fault... Maybe they should invest in some bigger barricades in the ocean or something? Didn't wreck our trip tho. Because let's get serious, you're in paradise. Service: yes it's a little slow at times, but why is everyone in such a hurry?? Have you ever heard of "Dominican time" because that's what they live on, And we are in their country. We always have had great service at the pool and beach bar. If you tip while you are in your seat at the beach or infinity pool, most Likely they will keep coming back. A few pointers... -if you're picky about something like your room or maid service, TIP! -book or take a private taxi, 30$ so much faster than waiting for transfers -smile, everyone likes a smile. -mojitos are amazing at the pool bar! -try the donuts at breakfast, YUM -ribs at capa tapa are amazing -sea blue is also amazing but bring bug spray! - have fun, you're in paradise, stop complaining, and take a shot. :) We will most likely return but probably not for a year or two. Punta Cana Princess: Great resort!

The service at this resort was great. The staff were very friendly and attentive. By the time our trip was half way through, the staff remembered our drink orders without ever having to ask! The grounds and the rooms were clean and well maintained. The only qualm I had with the room was the bathroom. The rooms were a nice open concept, but unfortunately that meant no door on the washroom. Instead, there were frosted glass doors on the toilet and shower. When we had friends over to our room in th [... read more]e evening, I had to ask the guests to leave so that I could use the washroom, since there really was no privacy! There is only one pool at the resort, but it's a nice size and since the resort is small, we did not have any trouble getting chairs in the morning. The a la carte restaurants do not require a reservation, which was great - we could decide that evening where we felt like eating and when. Overall it was a great resort for what we paid and I would visit again.

Be Live Grand Bavaro: Horrible Service 10-21-2014

Service was horrible everywhere except the adults only section. Our staff in the VIP were awesome. Anywhere else terrible. You were lucky if you were asked if you needed a drink in the main buffet. The main pool (which luckily we upgraded so we had a private pool and beach) was barely half opened. The other half including the main bar was closed for construction. The beach didn't seem well taken care of, garbage and seaweed everywhere.
